  • I love it when they do that when im scratched mirror myers 🥰

Did you have to work on your birthday? Why didnt you take the day off 🥺

  • It would be nice if he started with all of his traps or if his base trap setting speed was faster 🥺

  • 🙋 if we're going to nerf twins we should also add a pig nerf. Pig mains and twins mains alike will appreciate this

    Hear me out.

What if Pig gets a buff? Nothing gameplay changing just you know wider? Really bring home the infamous fat shaming?

Valid suggestion. We do need more thicc killers.

  • The change to his visibility in cloak has mostly made it easier for him camp hooks from my experience.

  • @Sluzzy said:

His buffs should be reverted. Instead of cloaking for a sneak attack, it is now spammed for a free long-range uncounterable free down. Why are Wraiths cloaking and uncloking on your tail? I don't think the devs originally intended for him to be used that way.

    This 100%.

  • You can completely negate blight's power by just running into dead zones where there's nothing for him to bump into.

On coldwind maps just run into the corn and stay there. He'll have nothing to bump into on top of having a hard time keeping a line of sight on you.

On ormand just run into one of the open areas with no tiles he can bump into OR run into one of the tight narrow jungle gyms so he can't gain much ground without running into something.

Running a blight is all about zoning him into areas where he performs poorly.

Or make killers/survs have a passive ability which gets stronger with each prestige level.

Yeah! I think that's the general idea I was trying to get across! Thank you, that's a much better way of putting it!

  • It's worthless because it only synergizes with one other add-on and that's the other iri addon that buffs movement speed to base movement (4.6 m.sec) when you're out of hatchets. I tried making a build around this by running STBFL, PWYF, Bamboozle, and one other pek I cant remember. Basically making huntress a one hit down if I got the one shot otherwise giving her better chase potential for when she was out of hatchets and it performs horribly because it turns you into an m1 killer and thats about it. No real zoning potential or gen protection.

There's literally no point in running any other addon with it now.

  • Dead hard, Bond, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time.

If I'm playing with friends I'll swap bond for something else. In solo you need bond to get info you'd otherwise have in a swf, DS because the one time you don't run it is the time you will get tunneled, BT because the one time you don't run it is the time you end up with a facecamping killer, and DH because out of all the exhaustion perks it's the best imo at least if you learn how to time it and look behind you in chase.

  • Yeah it's an over the top grind.

I always thought an extra perk slot or adding some basic perk to your base kit would be a cool incentive to prestige. Nothing meta or OP, but for survivors maybe it would add something like Kindred, Bond, or Deja Vu to your basekit once you fully prestiged or one for each prestige level. Same with killers, except it would add basic perks like bitter murmur, deerstalker, or iron grasp to your base kit for each prestige level or just one when you fully prestige. I dont think it would any more unbalanced than things already are for survivors since you'd be giving them a perk to their base kit that they get when they play swf anyway and for killers you'd be giving them some basic perks to their base kit that otherwise never get played anyway.

IMO the cosmetic isn't worth it when there's already other great cosmetics you can just buy.

  • lol right!? If pig hasn't been nerfed, can it really be called an update?

  • I searched the internet far and wide to present you with this old meme, cheers lol

And all should have counterplay added to it.

Yes, everything needs counterplay. There's a reason old Legion was nerfed, even though they weren't that powerful.

Then what about survivor perks with no counterplay? What's the counterplay to Alert, don't break pallets?

What about Red Herring, just don't patrol generators?

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2260816#Comment_2260816

Spirit is quite literally the only killer that needs counterplay. That's not a nerf.

No, I'm pretty sure the community would welcome another pig nerf on top of a spirit/nurse nerf.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2260833#Comment_2260833

Well it depends how problematic it is.

What’s the counter play to hoarder? Never pick up an item again?

What’s the counter play to territorial imperative? Never go into the basement again?

What’s the counter to an early tombstone your team fed Myers? Always jump into a locker every single time a Myers pops tier 3 the first time?

The majority of the time there’s no counterplay to any of it because you are not even aware they are running the perk. Especially in solo Q, where you can be easily killed on first hook.

You spawn into a match, go loot basement chest and the killer is territorial imperative Bubba. Game over. No counterplay. But how many people are on here complain about territorial imperative?

I'm not entirely sure what you're saying. Are you saying those perks are problematic or not?

I've honestly never seen a killer run hoarder and the only time I've ever seen a killer run territorial was on a baby huntress with one perk slot.

Those are very niche perks that only work well against survivors when they're synergized with other perks, at least in my experience. Otherwise they're kind of a waste of a perk slot. Then they're only effective or fun for 2-3 trials before you end up with a lobby that doesn't play into your build. That's the thing with those perks too, if you use them in a build that synergizes with them it's kind of a one trick pony where the survivors have to play into the strengths of your build or the right conditions have to be met for it to work, and that doesn't happen all the time. At least not frequently enough to make it worth it. I really only run things like that when I get tired of running the same gen regression perks over and over to spice things up but after maybe a couple trials it doesn't work at all and I end up with a 4E so I just switch back to the meta.

Hoarder is fun when paired with franklins on a killer like trapper where you can make the survivor drop an item and then trap it. That kind of synergy is pointless if the lobby isn't bringing any items into the trial though. It's honestly more of a meme build.

The only time I've seen territorial really have an impact was in basement hook scenarios. It allows the killer to leave the basement area to patrol because they will get a notification if anyone attempts to enter the basement to rescue a survivor on basement hook. I can't think of too many perks that synergize with it though, even in that scenario. If you use it in that sort of scenario though it really only gives maybe 3 seconds over the unhook notification so imo a 3 second head start isn't really worth it.

There's definitely survivor perks like that as well but you don't really see killers complain about them.

  • Does everything need counter play? There’s tons of stuff in DBD with no counter play

Depends what is in the Chapter.

E.g. Stranger Things was more expensive since it contains 3 Characters instead of the usual 2. If there will be one Killer and one Survivor, it will be the same price as most Chapters.

Okay, so maybe somewhere between $8-15 would be a good guess

I have to admit.... I have played both Doctor, and Trapper. With the sole intention of doing jump scares and slugging.

If they manage to open the door. I will still slug them, but force them to crawl to safety.

    I. Am. Truly. Evil.

I will farm with survivors as leatherface and then when theyre opening the gate ill down them all with my chainsaw so i can set up a slug race and open the gate myself for the extra points.

  • LOL I got accused of camping the generators recently too!

Of all the horrendous things I've heard from survivors while playing this game this was the most pathetic.

Don't let them tell you how to play the game.

Tunnel. Camp. Slug. Whatever playstyle is fun for you. They'll literally complain about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING.

  • Once you start getting sweat squads just play as dirty as they do. Find the weakest member of the squad. Tunnel them out of the match quickly. Camp them whenever you get the chance. If they try to body block or flashlight blind to protect them then slug them all and let them bleed out on the ground.

Or take a break. Civ 6 is actually a really good game.

  • The slow hammer of Karma:

Any time a survivor makes an emote or repeatedly crouches within 18/24/32 meters of you gain a token, up to 2/3/4 tokens. For each token the entity consumes one random item, perk tier, add on, or offering from the inventory of each survivor at the end of the trial. If a perk is reduced beyond tier 1 that perk is removed from their inventory entirely. Lost perks or perk tiers must be earned from the blood web from scratch.

    Pet a burning dog:

Any time your obsession is healed or rescued from the hook gain a token up to 2/3/4 tokens for each rescue or health state healed. You can force a pallet to drop. Each pallet you force to drop consumes a token.

    Malicious compliance:

Each time a generator is completed gain 2/3/4 tokens. You can select any vault or window, including dropped pallets, within 32 meters to be closed off by the entity. Closing off a vault or window consumes a token.

  • The tombstone piece, judiths tombstone, and the fragrant tuft of hair are all useless without a the j myer memorial addon to compensate for the increased stalk handicap and with the full tombstone you need PWYF to compensate for the slowdown handicap.

BHVR doesn't give killers anything without also giving them a handicap in other ways so myers addons aren't a big deal.

They're not effective against players with more than a few dozen hours in the game. At best they'll give you a 2k on their own.

It's weird because when I play myers it takes forever to get to tier 3 with these addons and while running j myers memorial, but when I play against a myers who has it they get tier 3 in the first 3 minutes of the match.

Either I just get bad lobbies or the game is secretly throwing in bugged bots for me to play with and against.

Thrilling is a great perk, I'd keep it, and Starstruck is a bit situational and considering GF can already insta-down by default he doesn't really need it. Starstruck is better for killers that can't necessarily insta-down, like Wraith, Nurse, Clown, and Slinger. Also MYC and Devotion seems pretty obsolete because as I said, insta-down. Oh and stealth power.

I would use Corrupt and Pop + Surge/Oppression or Ruindying, and maybe BBQ to replace Thrilling if you want tho I prefer Thrilling unless you want those bloodpoints. Nurse's is also a great choice.

Also I don't recommend crouch-speed add-ons, recovery add-ons or faster mark add-ons are a lot better for GF.

My main reasoning was that against good survivors you're either not going to get anyone marked before they expose you or they're going to just outloop you before you can down them if they're marked. Marking good survivors is also so dependent on the rng of the map tiles that spawn. Some maps will spawn really good tiles for maintaining cover while you approach and for providing a good angle for stalking from peeking around a corner but more often than not you won't get those good tiles on a lot of maps. Autohaven has a lot of good tiles for him but a lot are awful.

For this reason it's best to save shroud for mindgaming in chase and building up as much pressure as possible by using perks that double as his power and when used in a combo put pressure on survivors. Tremors and starsruck together put pressure on survivors, whereas on their own they're kind of meh. Dark devotion and MYC together give you an edge so you don't need shroud for getting downs, and those two combos together can put tremendous pressure on survivors and can tilt them since if you start to snowball them you've effectively doubled or tripled your base abilities which are stealth and one shotting. It's all about putting pressure n survivors in ways they're not used to.

It's about how they all work together in combination.

Ruin is always a toss up but is definitely strong, but survivors also know how to deal with it. Pop/opression is a good meta combo too but I'm trying to think outside the meta a bit.

  • Against good survivors tunneling and slugging isn't even going to work, even with stupid meta (ruin, pop, tinkerer etc) if the map is too big or has too many strong tiles for survivors to use.

I played a match the other night and the first 4 gens were done in 5 minutes.

They increased the gen speed after they nerfed old ruin and no one ever said anything about it. It used to take longer than 40 seconds for two survivors to finish a gen. Fact.

  • He's definitely a high skill ceiling, almost as if BHVR collaborated on his design with someone with an absurd skill level as killer who designed him for high MMR and as a challenge for themselves *cough otzdarva cough*

I've seen him get 3-4ks in lobbies I've been in but those were lobbies where the brilliant matchmaking put me in the mix with a bunch of rank 20s.

I've seen him get a 3k once against a higher ranked lobby, but he had the addons that reduce the number knives needed to fill his laceration meter and a decent build (M&A is the only one I remember).

I can't play as him, I just don't think the way you need to to perform well as him, stuff like pushing survivors to weak tiles etc.

I mean love it or hate it NOED is a good perk, certainly better than dark devotion. It’s not spammed in tournaments because it’s bad.

No real point in using crouch speed addons over recovery. Especially if you are doing the lazy mans mindgames with shroud. I personally moonwalk anyways out of habit even if I’m undetectable.

If you hardly plan on stalking, wraith is just straight up better than ghostface at this point. Like, way better.

And thrilling is not “throwing people off objectives” it’s just a tool to figure out where to go next. By the time you hook whoever you picked up it’s usually half way over.

Sloppy butcher is probably his best snowball perk and you will get value every game instead of using finicky 1 shot perks that are significantly better to use on wraith.

NOED is only a good perk if you're only playing against rank 16-20. It's practically useless against good survivors and a wasted perk slot against very good survivors or decent swf teams.

You still have to moonwalk with shroud on btw and it's a good strategy, tru3 pretty much uses it solely for chase.

You should never underrate a perk just because it's not used frequently. Time and again underrated perks are only underrated because no one puts two brain cells together to figure out how to strategize with them.

At this point I'm convinced you're just trolling.

  • Because if I can't remain in Victor's POV while riding piggyback on a survivor there's no point in playing them.

  • It would be nice if once you unlocked a perk in the blood web for one character you unlocked it for all of them. Like why I do have to unlock distressing for 3 tiers on EVERY character? Once it's unlocked it should just be in every character's inventory. Either that or make it so there's a store you can choose what to spend points on like either perks, items, add ons, or offerings and then you get a bloodweb with only those things in it.

As it stands its BS we pay for content and don't even get to use it fully without putting in a 7k hour grind.

  • @SilentPill said:

Looks bad. Starstruck is worthless without agitation / infectious if you want consistent value. I think it’s only good on someone like nurse who can pick someone up and drop them and still be fast enough to get to the infectious proc. Or like doctor with calm addons to cover the entire map with it before a static blast.

Make your choice on a low mobility killer who already has a 1 shot. You won’t even find them half the time.

Dark devotion for undetectable on a killer who’s power is going undetectable?

    And thrilling tremors is decent.

If you have no good perks I’d just go with sloppy butcher, thrilling tremors, I’m all ears, NOED / whispers.

Playing a low mobility killer without either corrupt or discordance is a sad day. You basically concede a gen or two each game if the team is good because on some maps 3-4 people will spawn on a gen and it’s done before you can even initially patrol the gens.

The idea with MYC and DD is so you can have your 1 shot and save your power for mindgaming chases instead of trying to mark people. The Starstruck and Thrilling tremors combo is to throw survivors off their game by closing off objectives and also leaving them vulnerable, forcing them to go for the save and activate the other combo.

I suggested speed addons for crouching to help with his mobility and mindgaming.

Also, NOED is for ******* who can't chase. There's some builds that are focused entirely on endgame that use it I can respect but just running it without any synergy to anything else is lame.

  • The only problem i have with keys is that they can spawn in chests. Remove that and they usually arent a problem at all.

I cant tell u the number of games ive lost while ahead because survivors took off amd found a purple or pink key in a chest, even without plunderers they can spawn and at an alarmingly high rate.

  • I hate that too.

A major giveaway that youve spawned close to or next to the killer is if you spawn alone.

Whenever i spawn by my lonesome i just hide in an inconspicuous locker right away and wait for them to pass by me until its been at least a few seconds since the TR has disappeared.

  • He is pretty awful. Playing as him is very frustrating. With that said, however, he can still 4k solo lobbies pretty easily with a decent build.

As long as your lobbies are poor teammates and poor loopers youll do fine.

I would never play as him but his perks are tempting to unlock.

  • No, this game sucks!

On top of all of the bugs, crappy matchmaking which has been going on for at least a year, crappy balancing, and crappy community i quit!

I took a break from this game shortly after pyramid head was released and then came back. Huge mistake.

The matchmaking used to only tilt me as killer so i gave up playing killer and put up with the longer queue times for survivor because at least i managed to have some fun as survivor but now at rank 12 i get put into lobbies with yellow rank survivors and red rank killers. How the hell is that fun?! Oh and the broken emblem system was pure hell, getting knocked back from purple to rank 17 during rank reset and not being able to rank back up because of the broken emblem.

    This game is garbage.

  • I know what to mean, ive gone through all those steps before and its dumb.

Sometimes when i play killer i get post game chat and the survivors claim to have reported me and im like "lotta good it'll do you" like ive reported so many people for toxic post game chat, working with the killer, lag switching, and i doubt they do anything with any of that.

  • @Nosferatu3145 said:

This should be a intended feature actually, killers already have a rough early game, it would be fair for them to start the match with one chase

    @Zeus said:

I wouldn't really complain about it now considering that previously you would sometimes spawn a feet in front of the killer.

Also it helps with early game pressure for the killer which I think is a good thing. You always have the option to hide for a while to see if the killer is near and if he IS near and misses you, then it'll be a while before he comes back there again which means it's a lot of time wasted for him unless he finds someone elsewhere which still means the gen you will be working on will be done.

Thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard.

  • Comms between killer/survivors in lobby and when in close proximity in game would probably alleviate a lot of toxicity.

  • Toxic SWF destroyer build:

    Lightborn, mad grit, agitation, bamboozle

    My Basic build:

    PGTW, Oppression, BBQ, Bamboozle

I'd also like to try the bubba train build where you run PWYF and coupe de grace.

  • Same here, the new maps/graphics are ridiculously dark or hard to see in.

I think the scratch marks are bugged somehow too, they don't form a consistent trail sometimes in chase when I know the survivor hasn't stopped running.

    Overall the visibility is frustrating.

  • Ive had pretty solid success using it with pgtw, the key is to use it to double up on gen regression when you get a pop to use but also remember to use it if you dont have a pop ready but need to find where survivors are. Its also pretty good for setting up 3 gen situations because then it basically works like hex ruin that cant be cleansed.

I ran pgtw, oppression, and surveillance with my oinktress and it performs pretty well.

The cooldown at tier 3 isnt so bad. If you really want to stack regression then id do pgtw, oppression, and either a ruin/overcharge combo or huntress lullaby/overcharge. Either of those paired with dragons grip might not be bad either.

Its a painful perk in tier 1 and 2 but at tier 3 its okay, not great but okay.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 11
