As someone who's been wanting the xenomorph in dbd the way you executed it has me as one of the happiest people in the fog it's power, ability and map is perfect I can't wait for the full release my only nitpick is the alarm portion of the chase music is overpowering the rest of the track and could be toned a smidge in the audio levels imo

Xeno's power looks really good and the perks seem fun, even if not particularly strong. However, there is no way I am playing this chapter with that yee yee ahhhh music, it's the worst I have heard in a while, there are like 4 fan made chase themes that did miles better than this.

Then again, I have not watched alien so probably I am missing some reference in the music, still, it sounds awful

He had a miserable time. We should nerf pig.

Yeah I too would think this game is miserable if I had to play clown for more than 5 minutes.

  • What the ######### am I supposed to do against good teams then?

  • @catslayer said:

to me, it's annoying when it's just me & the other teammate left and the killer just leaves me on the ground(or vice versa) for a whole few minutes having nothing else to do but just to lie down there while he just tries to find the other last teammate, being all sweaty & thirsty for the 4k. i mean it's better to end the match soon than just waste your time, it won't hurt you if the last one is going to find the hatch. not sure why some people do this, because when i play killer i don't really care whether the last survivor is gonna escape through the hatch or not; it'll still count as a win for me, having killed more than 2 survivors.

Sorry bro I gotta get that adept.

  • Ash because he is Ash. Also because MoM is unbelivably underrated and one of the best end game perks in the game, people don't use it because it's skill ceiling is way too high especially considering the benefits other perks give you

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

People are still comparing this perk to Dead Hard?

Yeah, I think it's a fair comparison. Sure, it's not as busted but it still does too much for too little input.

  • Brother you are playing trapper. If you are actually winning consistently at higher levels without tunneling or camping you deserve a ######### crown.

  • 30 seconds is too little, 60-90 seconds is a bit more reasonable.

  • Deathslinger and it's not even a contest.

  • 2018 PS+ player baby, instantly fell in love with the game. I still remember booting up the game and hearing clown's theme for the first time.

  • I mean it's annoying as hell but I wouldn't say it's overpowered.

  • I don't think any of my dream liscences (besides Ringu, which somehow already made it into DBD) will ever make it to DBD because of how niche they are or because they simply don't fit the horror thematic.

Until Dawn - Probably the one with the most chances and even then I see about a hundred other liscences that could fit better.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

I have always thought that a wendigo version of Josh would be an awesome killer, given how he is implied to transform into one in his "secret" ending. I would love to see BHVR's take on his lore, power and perks.

Hotline Miami - This one is definetely never making it into the game proper as a chapter but I would love a collaboration, Jacket as a legendary could potentially be very interesting on some killers.

Persona - The fourth game in specific, with how much emphasis it has on fog I think it would be an interesting fit on DBD.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

I would absolutely love to see Adachi as a killer in this game. I mean, the guy has it all, the smug personality, the will to collaborate in order to play the entity's "game" and a power that could potentially translate really well. The only thing holding him back is that he comes from ######### Persona of all games.

True, don't you think the game would be more fun for EVERYONE if that was dealt with? Wouldn't it be a great world if SWF/top tier survivors were nerfed, and we buffed low skill survivors or vice versa for killer? Maybe if camping didn't exist, and tunneling didn't exist, and there was no such thing as a god pallet? And every loop was fair? And every loop was mindgameable? And you couldn't just predrop every pallet? And there were actually more pallets (or maybe even pallets respawn?!) so dead zones didn't get created too quickly? And that you couldn't just shift + w to win?

I don't care about the opinion of your favorite streamer. The point I am trying to make is that OP is talking as if sweat squads and alch ring blights were the norm for the game when they just aren't. I never said any of them were good for the game, I just think it is a dumb comparison, the game is not balanced around high level play.

  • This is only true for sweat squads and you know damn well those are rare sights that you will only see in tournaments.

Tell me how you can't break her line of sight long enough to force her blink away and head to a different loop? While this is not always achievable it isn't impossible to do

Yeah but then you are not looping her, you are just running to another place. Looping means running around the same structure over and over.

  • image.png

Make him chinless it will be the funniest ######### ever.

  • Nobody plays him though, he is too hard and can't handle half of the maps.

  • Kind of, back then I played a lot of hit and run and ran ring drawing + dying light to lure survivors into healing themselves. It worked most of the time, but it was kind of innefective against SWFs.

  • I too would love a jaws chapter but how the hell are they supposed to implement it? I think it would be better off as it's own game

Her point is that she shuts down specific loops, she doesn't completely remove looping altogether

My brother in the entity, tell me one single loop she can't just blink over and completely shut off.

  • @coco_shotz said:

While the nurse is very much the most op in the right hands, it's not impossible to loop her although her add ons could use some adjusting

    • it's not impossible to loop her

Lol, lmao even. That's like her whole point, that you can't loop her.

This game is designed to cater to killers.

They can tunnel, camp, BM and still get pips and buckets of bloodpoints.

Meanwhile soloQ survivors exist solely to provide killers with easy games and get rewarded with 4-12k bloodpoints.

This event is once again made with only killers in mind.

DBD forums try to go 5 seconds without having the biggest victim complex in the history of mankind challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

  • @catslayer said:

not sure about y'all but before she wasn't this..."fast" at killing survivors. literally every player that plays her will keep spamming her tv teleporting, increasing our level until we get that red circle around our icons & then suddenly getting moried/insta-killed by her. yes, carrying tapes at the start do work but then she hits you and you immediately lose it; and when you do try to take a new tape, she suddenly teleports right to the tv that you're trying to take a tape from, making it impossible to do anything. and then she just chases you until you're already at the "death" level. suggestions? as for me, she's really boring since it's just "run back and forth, then the same cycle over again". how does she even know when i'm trying to take a tape and then immediately teleports right to me?

    • Try to go for tapes that are near completed generators, I usually tend to teleport to TVs near generators because that is usually where survivors go to since it disables her power for quite a while, it's really predictable
    • Avoid beeing seen by her, the reason she is teleporting to the TV you were going to grab a tape from is most probably because she catched a glimpse of your movements and correctly read you were going to grab a tape from there
    • If you are holding a tape and desperately want to avoid getting condemned, hide inside a locker before she can hit you. You don't gain stacks if you get grabbed in a locker
    • Run anti-aura perks. I can't speak for every Sadako but my builds usually 2-3 info perks (with one chase perk) because it allows me to make better plays and cut survivors off before they can retrieve the tapes. When survivors run distortion it really ######### me over.
    • Stick to complicated loops if possible, it doesn't really matter how good the Sadako you are going against is, she has basically zero tools to combat looping especially now that she doesn't gain bloodlust while demanifested.
  • I would much rather have a member of the Baker family as a killer.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Funny, I thought it would not be Alien. Mainly because BHVRs own Chapter was Space-themed, so I thought that it will not be Alien, because now it really overshadows the Anniversary Chapter since Alien is way above an original Space-Chapter.

So I really thought that they would have picked something different as Anniversary Chapter if Alien is the licensed Chapter.

But well, lets see how it plays out. As long as the Killer is fun and the Perks on either side are not shockingly bad, I dont care about the rest.

They were warming up for the big plate.

  • @bacon said:

    ^^^^ thanks

most probably next week, with this week having the teasers and stuff. PTB usually releases 2 or 3 weeks after the latest chapter has dropped.

    • Revs up the eternal "other side bad"
    • Provides annecdotal evidence for his poor gameplay experiences
    • Brings the killrate argument as if it accounted for higher levels of MMR

    Wow, so true bestie.

  • Aren't Marvel licenses like ridiculously expensive especially with the mouse in charge

  • It depends.

If you know that survivor won't last very long in chase it's probably the best thing you can do from an optimal gameplay point of view. But you must know when to do it and how to do it, otherwise you will have gens flying left and right, remember that there may be 2 or even 3 survivors working on generators while you are focusing on a single survivor.

  • Wait, it ALREADY released?

  • Samara legendary for Sadako is a no-brainer, with different chase music and effects of course because they are way too similar to justify just keeping the same sound effects at that price.

On a less serious note, I sometimes think of a Phoenix Wright legendary for Ace and a Maya legendary for Mikaela. It would be entirely in character, in game Phoenix is absurdly lucky (also because ACE attorney would be a fun pun).

  • @ExpertKingz said:

Ever since the recent Sadako rework, the strategy of never hooking survivors, only slugging and attempting to go for condemmed kills, is stronger than ever due to map wide condemmed and the reduced protection when holding a tape compared to PTB. These are all good changes, however there needs to a HOOK INCENTIVE introduced to combat this slugging epidemic.

In PTB, all survivors would gain a stack of condemmed if a survivor carrying a tape was hooked. Something like this needs to be reintroduced to provide Sadako players with a reason to hook survivors, therefore limiting cases of dull gameplay for survivors where the match seemingly does not progress until someone either bleeds out or is killed by Inexorable Stare due to the lack of hooking.

Yeah, I agree, a part of me wishes this came back but at the same it has some downsides which make me reconsider

    • On Sadako's side, it brings back the "haha screw you I put a tape in your face even after you hit me" which is really unfun
    • On the survivor's side, it has the chance of really screwing over survivors for having a ######### teammate (which is something Sadako already does really well). It also removes what is currently one of her strongest counterplays, which is hiding in a locker/using plot twist to avoid gaining condemnation stacks

I proposed an alternative in another thread, basically make it so that survivors gain more condemned the more hook states they have, lets say survivors only gain 1/2 stack of condmned per teleport instead of the current 3/4, but for every time they have been hooked they gain an extra 1/2 or 1/3 stack per teleport.

Glad to see the forums is still full of killer mains.

I just came back after almost a year break to see if the game improved. I was face camped by a bubba 2 games in.

Killers should be nerfed, the killrate was 65% when I left and it has only gone up as far as I can see. Why anyone plays survivor right now is beyond me. The solo experience is all but dead.

    "wah wah forum killer sided"

*proceeds to get the most upvotes in the thread with a survivor sided opinion*

  • The rework just punishes newer and inexperienced players while the nerfs to accommodate global condemn punish Onryo against experienced players.

This is literally the same argument that was used to nerf old Freddy (and I mean the original one) and look where he is now, Sadako shouldn't just be made into another M2 andy just to help newer players.

    They nerfed her mobility

    ???

You can teleport more consistently now. Or do you think that getting punished for 100 seconds just for using your power was better? I really don't get this argument you are making, her mobility is infinitely better than before.

as well as her chase by nerfing her ability to do manifestation mindgames.

Manifestation """mindgames""" were always useless, you had to work for a thing that spirit literally gets for free without getting slowed down. It doesn't work at most loops and the ones where it does work can be dealt with by basically any other 115% killer with zero issues. I got them to work mostly against survivors who were clearly bad at chases but each time I tried the same against more experienced loopers they didn't even bother.

She is a weaker killer than before but this all is reliant upon survivors not knowing the exact correct counterplay.

She really isn't. This is an overall upgrade to her old gameplay that makes her condemnation more consistent, you still have to guess where survivors are going to go to build condemned and try to bottleneck them, that was and still is the correct way to build condemnation. Just teleporting to random TVs every 10 seconds does not work against good survivors, they will grab the tape, do gens, and move on to the next ones. You are supposed to read their movements and cut them off at every possible moment just like before but with the tapes becoming a much more prominent which gives her much needed slowdown. I do agree this may be to much for solo q and newer players, that's why I have been saying her counterplay needs to be made clearer, but her gameplay should stay the same.

  • Yeah, this is probably one of the killers I enjoy the least. He feels extremely clunky, getting out of power feels really bad and the camera detection is ghost face reveal tier of bad. I also don't get the people that say that he is a really well designed and fun killer, if his power doesn't work in half of the maps in the game, he just isn't well designed.

  • I have a curse were I always get paired against a Huntress, it's really annoying. I don't even consider her particularly bad to play against or anything but facing her again and again is really boring. I wish they implemented a system similar to the anti-map repetition one they added a couple of months ago but for killers, although I think that would probably make it so that killer qeues take longer.

  • They really should stop designing perks that can only be abused by SWFs.

  • @skylustv said:

Please Bhvr, rework Amanda and make it a decent killer just like Sadako is now. The hype for this movie is real because Amanda Young is back afteryears. It's the perfect time to rework her, add ''Hello Zepp'' chase music and give us new comestics

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3PzUo4P21c&t=11s&ab_channel=LionsgateMovies

What? Nerf pig again? Ok then.

  • Nick said he got into the game because of Sadako.

  • Myers, he has laughably outdated design. I think his character model could use an update as well.

  • @JawsIsTheNextKiller said:

The addition of Nicolas Cage was amazing. But we were lucky. I don't have a problem with Nicki Minaj, but I think we are very lucky we got somebody as iconic as Cage and Call of Duty had to settle for Minaj.

But I'm sure many of us just really dislike certain celebrities and would hate to see them in the game. Some celebrities might be great for the game financially but wouldn't fit. And if one of the celebrities turns out to be a bad person? This would leave the game in a very unconfortable spot as they couldn't take out characters people have spent money on.

I mean, Nic has worked in horror before, this isn't too far-fetched. Puttin people like Nikki Minaj would be jumping the shark.

  • Bruh how is Sadako new SM? You are not forced into an eternal 3-gen and have various counterplay options.

  • Uh... Holding tapes hostage IS the counterplay to Sadako, and you are supposed to play around it by getting to tvs before survivors or alternatively reading their movements so you can make an educated guess on where they are going with them.

    Also, on your proposal

    • Videotape Copy

Big no no, this should be basekit not an add-on. And videotape copy is fine as is, it's a very strong add-on.

    • Cabin sign

NO! TVs already turn on realy fast, 8 extra seconds with no downsides is way too good.

    • Yoichi's fishing net

Perhaps? But you already recover your power fast enough in my opinion, I think this would make some situations miserable for survivors.

    • Sea-Soaked Cloth

Garbage, especially now that survivors are more incentivized to grab tapes, both this add-on and rickety pinwheel should be change for something different.

    • Rickety Pinwheel

Cool concept but way too strong at 3 stacks, 5 stacks seems way more reasonable.

    • Ring Drawing

Actually really cool concept, this is how it should work lore wise.

    • Mother's Comb

That sounds like fun but I feel like mother's comb is really necessary for newer Sadako players to learn how to adopt the condemned playstyle, I would rather have the effect you propose put into a different add-on

    • VCR

This sounds ok but at the rate at which TVs turn back on I don't think it would be particularly strong, but I guess it's ok for a purple

    • Telephone

This is just distorted photo but worse

    • Distorted photo

Holy crap NO! You would basically have perma info on every survivor and you would know exactly when they gain stacks, this is way too much info for Sadako.

    • Iri tape

This sounds like garbage, 3 stacks is way too much (you would need to teleport 14 times instead of 10 for survivors to reach max condemnation). The effect really isn't worth the downside.

  • This may be my personal opinion from my own playstyle but I really think Iri tape is not good, like at all. Ideally you want to have an idea of were survivors will put their tapes in, usually they will stick to grabbing the tapes closest to gens and then moving on to the closest TV, so you usually just teleport to the TV closest to the one that was turned off to hit them and get those sweet condemnation stacks. This add-on basically just tells survivors where they are supposed to go and makes them more unpredictable, which was one of the bigger issues the old condemnation playstyle had. It may waste some of the survivor's time, but it really isn't worth it.

  • Hag, I just abhor hag. She feels awful to play as, she feels awful to play against.

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

She is now brainless to get wins on, since I notice most solo queue players don't grab a tape straight away and appear clueless against her. If you want cheap easy wins with no skill as Hens displayed then sure, she is probably a dream come true.

I played her a lot before the buff (never did condemned once) and I thought she was just fine since not all killers should be S tier. I won most matches with her and have no idea why BHVR thought she needed such a dramatic buff

Bruh it's not my fault survivors don't know how to play against her, I have already said I think her power could be made clearer and easier to counter. But the few ones that do know what you are supposed to do against her have managed to put up a good fight, it's not 3-gen merchant you know? Survivors do have options.

I do agree it may be a bit too much and personally it's not the way I would have gone with the rework, a couple of buffs like increasing the range of condemnation to 24 meters, adding some debuffs the more stacks of condemnation and reducing the horrible cooldowns would have been more than enough. Old Sadako wasn't weak but most people were playing like Dredge, which obviously didn't work.
