they should just delete map offerings now that they are absolutely useless. Like really, they somehow managed to make them even worse(design wise) than before. Before if you didnt want to deal with map offerings you could just take ward. Now there is not much point to take ward since map offerings are much more rare and unreliable which ends up being more frustrating when they do work.
Agreed! Map offerings are trash (kinda always have been but worse now) and should have significantly less priority over something like a bp bonus
-
Seems a little ridiculous since having BP bonuses seems less problematic than letting survivors hoard items, but what do I know?

Aura builds aren't even an issue to me. The constant hard slow down is. A killer seeing your aura doesn't necessarily mean that they are guaranteed to get you, but blocking any progress that survivors can make for escape will eventually lead to the death of the team.
-
This feels one sided but so do many of the comments. Solo queue is a nightmare for survivors RN as killers can easily hard tunnel and use slow down builds that essentially block all progress after a certain point, but we also have the annoying 4 man sweat squads that all killers assume is in every game that are making it harder on everyone who plays casually.
Atp I'm not even sure how this game can be balanced in equal favors when the games design allows a baby trapper to face 4 p100 flashlight bangers and not take into account the fact that poor trapper has less playtime than the amount of time it took for said 4 man to queue up for one game.
Imo they need to completely rebuild the game from the ground up, but that requires actually working and why do that when the players are still giving you money for cosmetics released back in 2017. Sorry for the rant.
-
He feels very clunky, and I don't think they really thought the rework through. He really just needed to lose the ability to instantly kill healthy survivors. Aside from this one addon he wasn't really overtuned or busted, just had a really annoying and unfair build on occasion. The full rework makes very little sense to me as it doesn't fix any of the issues that players had with him already.
-
The rework looks and feels incredibly clunky. I'm not really sure what their exact plan was for his gameplay style, but this seems very incoherent and not even close to addressing the problems with his kit. They should revert him back and try again
-
I think they wanna add skins for characters that are more popular so it adds more incentive for more players to purchase the pass. I agree that they need to add more for characters who don't have one, but this is about making profit at the end of the day.
-
I personally think the "go next prevention" is a bit over done. For instance, the ability to unhook yourself shouldn't be removed but you shouldn't die after your second miss of a skill check while struggling. Makes it to where you still can 4% (which plenty of people did without giving up) but you cant just let yourself die on hook.

Yes.

Because some people don't play as much due to, say, working full time. If you're not caught up and only play a few hours a day, the grind is still massive if you're diversifying (especially regarding consumables.) The perk grind has been substantially improved, but if you're trying to stock 1 survivor and 40 killers that amount of BP grows every new chapter.
The point of a bloodpoint offering for an event is that its basically a themed BPS to celebrate. Part of the reason events like the anniversary pull back players who are taking a break is because they can take advantage of everyone running
Bloody Party Streamersthe Confectionery Of The Year, so it kinda loses a lot of appeal if people aren't using the offering that was specifically designed and distributed to be used during the event. Its just a baffling thing to be stingy with when being stingy is directly counterintuitive to its usage as a celebratory/return/retention mechanic.
If you work full time then you shouldn't be trying to prioritize getting everything for every character (assuming you even own them all) I don't play much but I've got like 8 mill bp that I really have nothing to do with half the time
-
Why do people act like bloodpoints are so hard to get? They literally hand them over to you just for playing

According to community stats he only has a killrate of roughly 53%... So idk.
Still the majority of matches.

just pointing out the 2 extremes happening at the same time… "Killer op" "Survivor op".
it's kinda funny how it just keeps happening
Did I say anything was op? I said the event is going bad since there are much sweatier matches than the usual. That doesn't mean the killers are op it just means they are playing super harsh during an event game

To be fair it's not specifically Springtrap that kinda ruins the mode, it's a number of killers (Oni, Lich, Plague etc) that do not have to worry about survivor invitation abilities and that are are able to reap the additional benefits (like remote hooking, and pallet removal etc) that can leave you feeling like what's the point of even playing the mode at all. A lot of sweatiness as per usual… but exacerbated by the fact the go-next prevention is just forcing survivors to throw themselves at the killer instead to end the match as quickly as possible.
I've yet to face oni, but I do see a lot of plagues and the lich has been showing up a time or two. I've seen more deathslingers tho so that's something new.
-
Nothing near this bad

Springtrap isnt that oppresive killer all you need is know hot to play against huntress plus some normal looping skill and team that doesnt fear gens and outcome is usualy at least two man out which isnt oppresive in my opinion and in fact maybe you getting players slightly above your mmr you get usualy that can be because now there are more killers than survivors playing I think.
I actually don't find him that hard to loop but that doesn't mean he isn't getting hook after hook while gen pressure is highly limitee
-
They don't see it as an issue. They have said that tunneling is a viable tactic so I don't see them changing it anymore than they already have (base BT and endurance after hook)

Did I misunderstand the question? I thought you were asking why other survivors were finding him oppressive. Also that you were unable to determine that yourself because you don't find him OP.
I am asking why he's oppressive but that doesn't mean I'm asking if he's liked. Nobody likes SM but she's not nearly as oppressive at this point to be asking about in threads. I just don't see how disliking something legitimately makes it a problem.

He's oppressive because he's disliked. Some survivors believe they have no chance against some killers so they stop trying to get better.
Disliking something doesn't make it oppressive. I dislike ghost face but he's not nearly as oppressive as this. I dislike deathslinger as well but he's not even considered a decent killer. I think you're trying to put all blame on one side when the thread is saying that he's more bugged and that's being taken advantage of.

I'm providing one reason to your question as to why so many dislike him. There's no one answer we can give as to why.
My question was more on why he's so oppressive, not really why he's disliked.

1st thing surviviors think- gens, 2nd- unhooks, 3d… there is nothing(gates?).
Surviviors have so many 2nd chances i cant blame devs why they did that. But Game just stops entirely when someone is keep unhooking as fast as they can.
Just game for hooks for killer, and even that is something hard to do, just because surviviors can bodyblock and sabotage."Soulder the burden" is saying hello/
So every survivior now is equivalent to 4.4 m/s killer, and thats FROM PERKS! Killer is punished for doing their job and they cant keep up to party gamers.
If you arent fast, you are probably alr genrushed.
Its funny that every Strong killer is a killer with movement ability.Ghoul Nurce Blight Spirit.
You are alone, 1v4. With limited tools, and for some people you are not threat anymore. It dosent matter who/what you are playing.
Horror is working when threat is real.Dbd lost it long time ago.
The difference between party and solo q, are too large.
When you want to play normal as a Killer you need to ask yourself twice:"Should i bring gen perks? Mb something that would help me in chase? Mb some info? Or try something for the endgame? Haste?"
Surviviors have a lot of tools to keep Killer busy long enough to fix all gens. I m sad that even with solid tools you cant compare with squad and their info.
And then you start loosing one trial by another.
And then you meet again people that cant spread and do what need to be done to win.
They just spend time before sit on a gen. So you have enough time to chase, to down, to hook, find another, repeat.
And Animatironic is too fair, like demo. Has solid tools, but limited as hell. 10 second cooldown aftrer axe hit? Is that a joke? Huntress (No cooldown), Deathslinger(No cooldown), Trickster (No cooldown), Unknown (Its short and you are 4.6 m/s), Plauge (No cooldown), Cenobite (Short)…
Fair, but not Shtrong enough to compete with S and A tier.(I forgot one thing, devs forgot to make doors something surviviors should rely on to outplay the Animatronic)
Okay so no offense, but that was a lot of words typed that said nothing about what I posted. The post is about why this particular killer feels quite oppressive (and mind you I didn't even say they camp or tunnel frequently since I havent seen any more out of spring than the average killer) not a breakdown of why killers engage in certain playstyles.
Furthermore, this killer has a kit that I wouldn't deem overpowered or something fresh and new since he plays like 3 other killers in one. The issue is that he consistently is destroying matched with little to no effort and I'm trying to get opinions as to why. Not a breakdown of why the game is "survivor sided."
Again, I mean no disrespect but this feels like a different thread altogether
-
@Mr_K said:
It is very common that survivors will start to dislike killers they see over and over. Every new chapter where the killer is popular will spawn many threads of dislike for that killer.
People want variety and that is harder to find when there is something shiny and new to play with.
Im not really in that category tho since seeing him all the time was an expectation when he released, but I also think that playing against him all the time makes you quickly adapt to his play style. I also don't find him that hard to loop but he seems to be oppressive in every game with him
-
@Rogue11 said:
Well he's basically 115 Huntress with the cooldown after hatchet throw add on appearing right next to a gen and double tapping the survivor repairing it. Hes not as stupid as kaneki so far but sometimes there's no way to have a chance without maybe sprint burst ready.
His hatchet seems easier to dodge for me than huntress, and he can't pull up another once you are hit. But I guess I can see how that might be an issue

Silent teleports right on top of survivors giving him free hits before they can react.
I keep seeing this talking point about the silent tp, but I often can hear the door when it's close by so is it really all that silent?
-
@Alice_pbg said:
he is new. people are still getting used to him. his kill rate should be higher than normal for a while.
I guess since I've been playing so long nothing feels "new anymore" need to dodge a hatchet? I've faced enough huntress in my day to know that. Tp incoming? I saw that coming since nobody is getting actively chased and hooks are getting healed. Even with a higher kill rate he still feels like even a bad springtrap can get value.
-
I don't find it too different from before aside from being denied the ability to 4% if things are looking dire (and they often do) but from what I'm hearing its a bit too strict in what it considers "intentional" or simply a mistake.
-
They probably can't remove him due to contracts with the owner of the character. Removing him specifically could have very dire legal consequences, the main one being players have paid for it and he is simply removed for no other reason than rage
-
Boons can be a useful tactic, but I think they need to try something a bit less situational. i feel like maybe having them work in a similar manner to hex's would be beneficial. Like you place a boon that helps give faster healing (circle of healing) another one that gives silent foot steps to all survivors (shadow step) and so on.
They can also work map wide this way so you don't have to run to a select location for use out of the perk, but the effects can be lessened to a general buff instead of a heavy buff in a targeted area.
-
The issue with genrushing is the lack of engagement with the actual game. Sitting on a Gen for the whole match doesnt mean you really *did* all that much aside from just holding down a button and pressing another when a skill check occurs, but that doesn't engage with the killer, cleanse totems or even open the exit gates. I can elaborate on many different angles for this but keeping it simple for the prompt: genrushing does not equate to playing the game
-
I do agree that his ability to get free hits is frustrating, but since he cannot down he is basically like looping a mobile M1 killer so I just run him down until he either hits the M1 finally, or he goes to pressure someone else
-
@Khastrx said:
At this point I'd take the original Skull Merchant every match if I didn't have to constantly see Legion. Usually the only time it's not miserable is if the Legion player is new.
I think that might be a tad far since the other killer in 2v8 could be bad (or Wesker whom has a glitch that freezes him and a survivor when he downs you with his dash)
-
@UndeddJester said:
I'm almost at the point of suggesting taking away Legions killer instinct from Feral Frenzy, or remove deep wound from their kit... something that totally knee caps them, cause their pick rate is through the roof.
Legion's super lazy and 0 skill 2vs8 gameplay creates so many unfun combos and facilitates so many lame play styles that ensures facing them is almost alway obnoxious...
And killers need more help against the insane gen speeds survivors can crank... but such a change cannot come whilesoever Legion is there.
I think this might be a bit far, but I respect the ideas of nerfing legion so that its more bearable

A good Blight and Nurse is far, far worse.
Nurse has a high enough skill ceiling that you don't see too many actually decent ones running around, but it is basically a gg when you do. Blight I've faced so many times that I don't really have too many issues with him anymore and since he can't really have add ons in 2v8, I find him a bit more manageable
-

Just make it to where Legion only can stab up to 4 Survivors before getting a down on the next hit as usual. Not sure why they increased that number.

I do think in regards to how Legion pairs with other Killers, they really need tweaking next 2v8…
They seem to have the same level of strength regardless of the other killer, but I do agree that they do much better with some than with others. Especially if the killers are able to communicate with each other.

Yea except when I play. Two games back to back I picked Huntress and got a Legion who never used their power once. I was the only one who was hooking while the legions were doing squat. At this point I think there is anti-mmr, I'm being paired with people who are worse than bots, on both sides.
Huntress and legion are actually quite strong when used correctly so I'm confused as to why your legions aren't pulling their weight since getting value out of them in 2v8 is even more braindead than holding W
-
9 years in and I can say that I'm not as involved as I was in my prime, but it's still entertaining enough to come back to. Especially since this is the only "killer vs. Survivor" game that can withstand the rest of time. Tcm being cancelled officially has shown that this game is really hard to beat and will definitely need something very forward thinking and intuitive to knock it off it's pedestal.
-
You do have the power to force start the endgame timer, but I do agree that there should be an abandon option since too many survivors do stay at the gate. The only time I find that appropriate is when the killer was playing scummy but even then I won't hang around if it's deathslinger
-
I think he is quite good, but I'm not sure about 2nd best after nerfs. He has great mobility but he also can't down survivors with his m2 (the deep wound affect is a fair middle ground imo) and he can have a hard time at certain structures.
I do think many players have yet to fully understand how his kit works so many of them aren't playing on his strengths to their best so maybe I'll see better plays overall, but until then I say he's about top 4
-
While it sounds like a case of just having a bad game I will say that attempting to nerf the swfs will only cause harm to the solos. It's nearly impossible to balance around those crazy 4 man swfs when anything that weakens them also weakens the survivors as a whole since they are the only ones who get the full benefit of the role
-
Its maybe a bit unfun but it's not exactly a bad strategy at times. If the survivors were playing less optimally than the killer probably though they could achieve the 4k through this method.
-
I feel like we are in the beta testing phase of 2v8 since the idea of letting the killers sync up was not considered in their development so it should be looked into. There is also the power of 8 survivors to be considered as well since having literally twice the amount can lead to some really intense metas can be found with such a large group trying to escape. I have hopes for this mode but I think it's not something they ever originally considered so it's gonna take some time to even out. That being said hopefully they make all the killers available since not having something you did pay for is not good business.
