SCP will never happen due to the licensing for them. You have to allow people to have access to and modify the content for free. You can "sell it" but you legally have to allow them to use it for w/e purpose they want. This is borderline a copyleft license, which, unlike copyright basically is a poison that infiltrates your entire product. If you put a small piece of copyleft thing into your product, it effectively legally requires your entire product to become free.
That seems to only apply to games that use a certain engine. SCP Blackout costs money and I don't think the assets are open to anyone.

I watched like 30 seconds of the video you linked jumping around. This sounds like X-Files LARP.
I guess, the monsters they contain and how they contain them are completely different though.

Sounds cool, might actually make a nice niche perk.

That is surprisingly fitting.

I honestly never played DbD much before crossplay. I bought the game for Myers, Freddy, and Leatherface, the three Icons I grew-up on in the 80s, and could never get Killer matches unless I played very late at night. Well, I have a kid to get to school, normally, and then start my writing work day by 10am at the latest, so I prefer bed no later than midnight. So, playing late at night just to play Killer wasn't in the cards.
I bought the game June 2018 on a Steam sale along with the DLCs at the time. I have just under 200 hours logged in those two years due to those queues. By comparison, I have close to 1,000 hours logged into Overwatch because I can always get fast queues there, albeit I started Overwatch on launch day in 2016.
I've studied the game, but am just now finally able to play it when I want thanks to crossplay.
I'm glad the game is at least playable for you, I love multi tasking so a lot of the time I'm doing something else while playing. It still can get pretty annoying when I wait 20 minutes for a game only to get morid in 2 minutes lol. I've had my eye on this game since the beta, having all my childhood nightmares in this game was a very nice bonus.

Maybe he can place walls around the map by like tokens or something and can block off vaults/pallets/ and generator by placing a wall on said item.
Hows it now?

Ah, see, we all just play DbD very casually. I hit green ranks since I came back the day crossplay launched and was Rank 20 because I hadn't played in so long. I've dropped back to Yellow ranks messing around with Deathslinger, and don't care.
About the only game we go into with a clear desire to 'win" is Overwatch in the six-stack full team. And even then, since it's just Quick Play with nothing on the line as far as rank and such, if we lose we lose.
I just hate SoloQ because a majority of the time I am left to die on first hook, so never get to actually "play" a match.
I normally stay around purple ranks, I've just been playing so long its evened out. I've had my fair share of fun with Overwatches custom games. The only other game we play competitively other than DBD is R6.

I really only do SWF in KYF thanks to crossplay. I mostly SoloQ in public matches and that is atrocious. We don't bother doing SWF with public matches because, since crossplay, the survivor queue times in the late evening when everyone is available are a lobby simulator game. SoloQ, I get survivor matches at that time within 2-3 minutes, but the experience of playing those matches doesn't make it worth it.
So, I just screw around as Killer in public matches. Right now I am seeing if like Deathslinger. He's still Level 1 because I don't put BP into a killer unless I enjoy how they play, or the perks are worth it (and his aren't for me and my builds at this time).
I'm also still undecided if I like Spirit, so she's still sitting at level 1. I got her perks off the shrine over time, anyway. Ditto for Pyramid Head being level 1. Love Oni, though.
Its really a shame that queue times are so bad the actual games aren't worth it. My friends are very competitive, so KWF and SWF are entirely different sessions for us.

I was playing SWF the other day, A DS snuck up behind me and got the hit. I yelled so hard I fell out of my seat.

Spine Chill is definitely a killer for him, agreed, and maps like Lery's will be tough. And if you're at a loop with a strong pallet, you can at least pre-drop it and run him for a bit.
I just hate how common it is for him to show up and be like 10m away before you see which direction he's coming from. At that point it's a really easy first hit, and if you can't find a good pallet with your speed boost you're going to have like a 15 second chase. The deep wounds mechanic is just another layer of irritation with him.
Yeah, especially with M&A. Although I actually find it kinda fun, but I'm not trying to be competitive, so I'm definitely in the minority.

How do you break LOS? He has a 16m TR with Monitor and an 18m chain. He also has one of the crappy new TRs that sort of spins up slowly and makes it hard to gauge distance. By the time he shows up, he's probably to be very very close to you. If you're not right next to a pallet you can pre-drop you're not going to break LOS and he's going to get a very quick hit. Then there's the fact that many maps don't really have many LOS blockers. Repairing a gen in the corn on Coldwind? Unless you see him coming early, that's an easy hit. Playing on many of the Autohaven maps? Better hope he doesn't pop around a corner 20m from your center gen, because that's also an easy hit.
I just hate the combination of stealth and a ranged attack. He's the only killer that has that. Stealth for the easy first hit, shoot/zone for the easy down if they don't happen to be near a strong pallet. PH is more annoying than him in a chase because ping usually isn't good enough to actually dodge his ranged attack and he's got the 115% movement, hitting through walls, no need to reload, etc., but at least with PH you know he's coming.
Thats true, theres not much you can do if out in the open. Although I normally run spine chill, pretty hard to sneak up on someone if they know your coming. And while he can certainly be great on outdoor maps, he blows hard on indoor maps. In terms of a standard loop hes not very good either, since its so hard to get a clean shot.
-
I actually liked the Billy changes, his addons got rightly nerfed and the basekit changes are so small he still feels balanced. My Biggest problem with Death Slinger, And most other high tiers. iIs that theres not much you can do. With spirit you can try to mindgame but if shes running stridor your kinda boned. Freddys just a standard m1 killer who can slow you down without doing much, and a good Nurse can just outright disable pallets. Death Slinger is kinda in the same boat without actually being all that strong imo, sure you can duck behind cover but whats the fun in that? I'd rather mind game than walk until hes able to shoot me. Sorry for the long and kinda unrelated post.
-
So you want it to go from 12% to 60%? Nah. Perhaps it would be a better idea to give hooked survivors the ability to affect the game a little more, perhaps completing a mini game could give the other survivors slightly increased vault and walk speed, whilst also giving them a notification that you want to be picked up. That way survivors aren't sitting on the hook doing nothing but also not ditching as soon as the killer walks away. Because you'll see camping go way up if you tell killers the survivor has a 60% chance at escaping without anyone else.
-
With Spirit sure. But breaking LOS with DS does wonders for not getting shot. And PHs wave is super predictable if your paying attention.

Yeah, part of the appeal of Coraline is the world has this logic to it that makes sense from a child's point of view. If they aged up coraline or something like that I don't think it would have the same impact.
I enjoyed reading Sandman in high school, haven't really revisited it since then so I can't speak to the writing quality. The worldbuilding is really fun though, and I remember it crossed over with stuff like Constantine a couple of times.
Perhaps they could have a map from Coraline, so you get to be hunted in a world made by a childs twisted perception of the world. I'll ask my mates if they've read Sandman and see what they say. Perhaps I'll check out the book version of Silence of the Lambs in the meantime.

Interesting, I was actually thinking something like Sandman. Coraline could be cool, but I'm not sure how I feel about a kid as a survivor.
I'm pretty sure its illegal to have kids being hunted, which is why Laurie, Nancie, And Steve are somehow 18. Would you recommend the Sandman? I've been looking for something to read after I finish Dark Tower.

I do on the killers who have it. But it's onkh 2 mins and then after that gens go fast as ever
2 minutes is a lot of time. Especially if you play a setup killer like Trapper. Combine that with another slowdown perk like Pop and your in a pretty good spot.
-
I think the devs are working on something to slow the early game. In the meantime I'd recommend running corrupt.

The entity
Power - I am the master
Have the entire view of the map, you can just tap a survivor and kill them like when endgame time runs out.
Perk 1 - I am op - You can control anything you want, you can tap everything to block them forever.
Perk 2 - Map balanced = If you get into some good survivor map like cornfield you can just change the map into hawkins lab.
Perk 3 - Wallhack - You can see all survivors' auras
The entiTY IS OP, the entiTY IS BAD
Any ideas for how I can change it if its really that unbalanced?

I'd prefer they get a real license, rather than trying to make someone's 15 min fanfic anything more than it is.
That is a gross oversimplification of SCP, ignoring the countless hours of hard work people have put into making them, and the countless hours spent refining them. And the countless hours spent making games like SCP Blackout. So unless this is bait, you really shouldn't act like you know something you know very little about.

huntress does frequently run out if you play her right. if you are reloading when you have 3 hachets left you are playing her wrong.
the hatchet wind up charge and the wait time after you throw and the hatchet reload are at least as punishing as a short reload and a reel in that injures and deep wounds whether you hit them or not
I appear to have misunderstood you,I thought you meant running out of hatchets the entire match, like you take all the ones out of the lockers. And the wind up for huntress is basically the same as Death Slinger lining up his shot (It can be better or worse depending on how good the Death Slinger is). And no the reload time is not short and the reel in can take ages, it also can't down if the chain breaks, if huntresss hits an injured survivor she is guaranteed the down. They are not nearly as punishing, combine that with the fact huntress can pressure people from way farther away and I definitely consider her better than DS in that regard.

instant ready and cancel isnt a big advantage? having infinite shots isnt an advantage? come on
Everyone says infinite shots like its possible for huntress to actually run out lmao. I've been here since before she released and never once have I seen or played as huntress and run out of all my shots. And either way, huntress having 5 shots without having to reload and not having to spend the 6 seconds reeling them in and then eating the stun makes huntress way better in a chase. So how is this balanced out? By having Death Slinger have a way shorter terror radius.
-
Hes interactive, you can dodge the wave if you pay enough attention. And being cautious while walking helps ensure you never get tormented.
-
That would take away Death Slingers only big advantage over huntress.
-
Most of the time I use sound or scratch marks, I will use it if its the most clear indication of where survivors are though.

My point is that the devs can't actually try to acheive balance, just follow the community's desires until balance naturally occurs. It's not like nerfing Billy was a good step toward balance, the devs just did it by popular demand since they were touching his add ons anyway. The devs are smart to do this, otherwise factions would have ripped apart the community long ago. These appeals to the masses give everyone something they can all appreciate, even if they're wrong to make the change.
Thanks for the clarification.

People make calls for "balance" with intentions other than making the game balanced. As someone who used to not know this, I understand and empathize with your confusion.
Then what exactly is your point?
-
I'd put that on konami, I could see them whining that any cosmetics they make are "legendary", I'm just happy we got PH cosmetics at all.

If he was done well I think he could be cool.
Bit of a confusing poll since the game, hornets and verse versions are all essentially the same with small tweaks. Really anything but the movie would be good.
Thats true, but they are separate continuities and people will whine about anything lol. The biggest difference would be survivors and perks.
-
I feel that. Last week I had a killer game where I got one kill and the survivors all escaped with a key. I switched over to survivor and got morid by a freddy. That happened 4 times in a ######### row.

People do care about balance, but only because they want easy games. Killers run this community, why not give them what they want this time around?
This is so confusing. So your argument is, people want easy games thats why they want a perfectly balanced game? And the other argument is "Without them the game wouldn't work, so make them super strong?" As a 50/50 player, I'm very confused by this.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:

Solo queue is easy to buff. Besides, who cares if killers are a little bit more op.
Wouldn't it be a better idea to nerf SWF if buffing killers also means buffing Solo Q? And what about a 2 man SWF compared to a 4 man SWF? And considering this is a competitive game, I'd say an imbalance of any kind is a problem. If nobody cared about balance why does this post exist?

Idk I watched the OG last week and unless I'm deaf he definitely killed those kids.

@Exerath1992 said:
The best villains are villains you can still somewhat identify with, sympathize with, or operate in a moral grey area. Jason was abused and left to die, so now he wants revenge. Freddy was burned alive unjustly, so he is getting revenge on the town that attacked him. Etc.
I agree with the post overall, but Freddy doesn't exactly fit into that category. His death was pretty just considering he killed children. I always saw his scare factor as that of "Hey lets give literally the worst person ever the ability to control your dreams and kill you".

I think BHVR could take a lot of inspiration from the SCP universe and create their own SCP. Their creativity and design branches usually do a pretty good job when it comes to making up characters. I think they could design something new that still pays a great amount of homage to the SCP universe.
I never even thought about a DBD specific SCP. That could actually be really cool. Would probably piss off some people who wanted a certain pre existing SCP though lol.
