then we need to lay out which killer would actually be down to fight, who'd prefer a different challenge and who'd just say 'screw this, i'm out'
Well, they are still in a trial so the entity might still be making them fight.
-
I'm definitely the kind of guy to hold his tongue for far longer than necessary.
-
If it was a KYF exclusive mode I'd be down.

Dude, can you please read the WHOLE post...
I did, I'm asking why you think they should change it from a balance standpoint. I have enough faith in you that I honestly refuse to believe you think that something looks off from an aesthetic standpoint and should be massively nerfed because of it.

My best advice is to ask a mod to close this thread (you can flag your own thread and ask for it to be closed), and then you can create a proper, official bug report. If you need someone to go into a KYF with so you can take a screenshot of the wall in question then lemme know :)
I'll do that, thanks mate. I'll reach out if I need some help.
-
Depends on the agreement they made. Ghost Face could be partly owned by the license holder and as such require they're permission, or he could be the sole property of DBD with the only licensed part being the mask. I hope it'll happen eventually.
-
Probably should have put this in bug reporting.
-
I'd be down. I could already imagine Ghost Face shushing someone before laughing in they're face.
-
But....why? Why does he need to be nerfed? Hes one of the few killers most people agree is good but not too good. The only thing he needs is to have his addon dependency be addressed and to have his reveal mechanic smoothed out. I just don't see a point to this.
-
At the risk of becoming a broken record. I want a killer that can summon AI threats. My concept used SCPs for obvious reasons lol.
-
Yeah its pretty weird, I believe the devs made addons like that for other killers but made them iris, so I'm not sure they changed this now.

Yeah I think DS is obviously good too, but half the time it does nothing for the unhooker. And just putting this out there, idk about my opinions on DS, whether its op or not. I think that I could agree that its op. But the reason why I love it even though i dont have it and i wish i did is because it can get you out of being tunneled.
Thats fair, but there aren't any perks that benefit the unhooker to my knowledge, unless I'm missing a super obscure perk nobody runs. I normally only run DS to stop getting tunneled.

Yes, bt is a great perk for countering camping, the only one. I'm saying if you don't run bt.
It is yeah, absolutely. But DS has gotten my dwight ass out of more basement situations than I can count lmao.

And if survivors run perks like BT and DS, there are ways to counter those too. Why do we always have to listen to one side complain like there's no way to work around certain perks and play-styles, but survivors, who, by the way, ALSO have the task of competing against their fellow survivors, are somehow expected to all play like they're full SWF? Y'all need to get over yourselves. This game isn't even remotely competitive, yet you act like it's the next League of Legends. The entire ranking system is stupid and useless in a game that literally revolves around survivors getting out alive, and the killers preventing it.
This feels largely unrelated to my comment. You started out by saying they can be played around, which is true. You mentioned that survivors compete over each other, isn't doing the objective competing against them since your leaving them to die? You don't need to be in a SWF to realize the better option is to get on gens rather than go directly to the killer. You then pop into this competitive speal that is another post entirely.

Ok, that's only if the killer picks you up and doesn't kill the person that unhooked first. That person would still just go back on the hook you just got off and rinse and repeat.
To start, BT does nothing for the unhooker, it only helps the unhooked. If the killer goes for the unhooker that is your moment to escape, it is literally as simple as holding W to escape a killer that is not chasing you. As for the pickup, that essentially guarantees the killer is wasting they're time. If a killer is honestly gonna a wait an entire minute over your slugged body to wait for a perk that you may or may not have there is no way a gen doesn't get popped.
-
Take that back...

Like the only perk, bt? That's the only perk that I can think of that could stop camping. Which I do not think bt makes the game survivor-sided.
DS, the most popular perk in the game is widely regarded as the best anti-camp perk.

Well yeah no ######### but at that point the killer gets a free kill or at least someone into 2nd stage. I know that basement is supposed to be in the killers favor but it just isn't fun at all, in my opinion for killers and survivors. I just don't see the fun of getting easy wins because you can put someone in basement and sit there or proxy for free kills if the survivors don't have bt and play it perfectly.
Then rush gens. If they're camping it rush the gens because the killer left them wide open. Its nowhere near a free win. Especially if the basement is in shack.
-
The basement is supposed to be in the killers favor, thats the whole point. It is possible to escape but its certainly not esy. If the killer is camping it start rushing gens if you don't feel like you can get the unhook. What some people don't seem to realize about camping is that the entire other part of the map is unpressured and wide open.

i just find here recently game after game after game i cant dodge swings anymore and make the killer whiff. i get like higher ranks equating to more conscious killers and killer mains but even then in the past i could dodge but it seems lately its near impossible
Thats the problem with the tick rate being improved but hitboxes not being improved. You can have a 360 were the tick rate moved the janky hitbox into you, thus possibly creating more scenarios in which you get hit when it doesn't seem like you would.
-
That would be less a problem of tick rate and more a problem of hit boxes. Since hitboxes are universal for every killer it means that stuff hits when it very clearly shouldn't going by where the character swung. Best example is freddys glove.

You should've mentioned Movie *Spoiler Alert* in your thread topic title.
The movies are like a decade old and I did start the revealing section with spoiler alert. As well as starting off with Amanda, the character everyone here should know the backstory of. As well, I started off the post by saying "This is about the lore", it seems pretty clear this was a spoiler filled post.

Nah, minotaur Oni is a new skin for an existing model. Making a male Pig would necessitate an entirely male model, unless you want a Pig that sounds male but looks distinctly feminine. Maybe people would be into that. I don't judge.
Thats true, It would probably require a tweaked model. I still don't think it'd be impossible, especially after the massive amount of effort it took to make legion.

They recorded different killer sounds for Legion at the same time. It took less work that way. And you can't make an entirely new character model for a killer and expect the old animations to work. It would look janky. Trust me.
Wouldn't they record those sounds at the same time as the new chapter to make it easier again? Isn't minotaur oni a new model for an old character to?

I think the reason they left out John is because he's a septaugenarian cancer patient. A guy in a hospital bed would not make for a very imposing killer.
Making a Hoffman skin for Pig would require new animations and new sounds, which would be a lot nore qork than just a new outfit.
Tapp is Tapp. He's too old for this s***. Leave Tapp alone.
As for Saw lore, the Game map is RIDDLED with easter eggs from the series. Go on and soak them all in.
Wait, why do they need new animations? I don't see sound as an issue, they did it for legion.

I mean you could say the same thing for any dlc. Why is Pyramid Head released with Cheryl when PH is a representation of James’ superego? Why is Demo released with the lab map when he was most prominent in Season 1? Why does Haddonfield have endless fences when there were no such thing in the movies?
I mean for Amanda, the RBT makes a ton of sense.
Put some iconic characters in, iconic map that’s mostly relevant and a couple references. I think that works well enough for a game like dbd.
Um, that is not at all what I'm talking about. The stuff you speak about was made directly to represent the most media possible. That's why the Silent Hill chapter is representing a small portion from each game rather than putting everything in one basket. My point about Saw was that they didn't do that, everything we have is from the first 3, nothing for 4-8 aside from some obscure references around the map.
-
@Missing_Toe said:
Um....
The Saw chapter included two traps. The RBT is a trap with a timer and a key for salvation. The other trap carries the key. It’s still a separate trap though. You have to lock your hands inside a Jigsaw Box. What happening, we can not really see but if the movies indicate anything, your risking injury or being encouraged to exchange blood for access to the key.
The map has iconic rooms, decor, Billy, ect ect. I’m all for asking for more but holy crap, they did a great job with the Saw Franchise IMO.
Was the box itself actually in a movie? Or is it an original? I never even mentioned the map because I think it was done quite well.

Honestly... I feel like I'd want to see an expansion for the reasons you listed...
The Stranger Things DLC gave us 2 survivors... So why not add more killers and survivors from other licences...
I'd be down for that, I just hope they do something more with the licence.

I think it represents Saw as well as possible within the games constraints. I agree that if a company were to develop a "Saw" only video game it should be something completely different.
I'm not talking about anything gameplay wise, I think its actually represented pretty well in that regard. I'm talking about the characters that are here.

I somehow feel hoffman would have made a better survivor than Tapp, maybe his perks could have been something like ratting out teammates.
That would ######### hilarious, he'd fittingly be the most hated survivor.

I feel like its more just a matter of taste than anything. I would probably play F13 more than DBD if it had more than 1 licence and was still getting updated.

Question:
Are we rolling with the 'mindless killer' scenario here, or are we giving them the same sentience and personality they had before the entity snatched them?
They all have the same intelligence as before the Entity took them. They keep all they're abilities though.

I wanted an opinion on it, sorry, the first was feedback, the second is a question. I’m not sure if he’s unbalanced or if I’m just bad, and this is a very active part of the forum I have noticed.
No worries mate, just curious. As a Ghost Face main he can be wildly inconsistent. I think he could use some more fine tuning.
-
Why did you make another post within the same hour as your last one about the same topic?
-
Trapper: I agree, when I get outsmarted I feel absolutely brained.
Wraith: When they manage to sneak up on me it is terrifying.
Billy: I enjoy the tenseness his chainsaw brings.
Nurse: Seeing a good Nurse makes me jealous, but in a good way.
Michael: Probably the scariest killer in the game for me.
Hag: Seeing an interconnected web of traps makes me sweat behind the knees.
Doctor: I love the mind games.
Huntress: I enjoy how she makes me rethink chases.
Bubba: The feeling of power he radiates.
Pig: Getting snuck up on and trapped makes me feel like I'm in a Saw movie, though only briefly.
Clown: The dedication to playing someone like Clown is admirable
Spirit: They have taste lore wise
Plague: Getting sniped with corrupt purge is so cool.
Ghost Face: That feeling of realizing hes stalking you is by far the scariest moments in this game. Myers still takes it overall though.
Demogorgon: Good shred users always surprise me. And portals bring constant tension.
Oni: Using those weird dash mechanics makes them look like a wizard.
Pyramid Head: I love the interactivity he brings.
Freddy, Legion, and Death Slinger all do a wonderful job at existing.
Left out Blight cause he hasn't been here long enough.

I feel like you've got this confused, this is not supposed to happen. Its a glitch and its very likely the devs are working on it right now.

16 m aura reading and you can check 5 areas in 10 seconds. There's no hiding from it.
16M is pitifully small. You can check tons of areas sure. But then you lose your entire ability and suffer a long cooldown. What exactly do they plan on doing with this information now that they just suffered a stun and have no power?
-
If a Terror Radius is gone its because of a bug and not an intentional design choice.
-
How? No one initiates a rush when they don't already know where a survivor is.

I don't think it would fit very well. It would be kinda like something out of scoobydoo. Audio would probably have to be changed too.

I dont know whether to consider mobile canon or not. Not because i hate it, but such an important cinematic should be available on PC, as well as they tend to divert in some way.
I don't think the devs would put something as big as that in a game without clarifying to us that its non canon. Mobile seems to be lore accurate so far.
-
Yeah it can be pretty weird. Sometimes I can stalk out in the open, other times I get revealed behind a wall. They really should optimize it more.

Ah, yes. The "aren't you omnipotent and all-seeing?" defense. Just know where they are, bro! They literally can't hide! They have giant neon signs over their heads and dance around, singing a song so you can always know their exact location! It's not like they can play immersed and have a massive stealth advantage with a third-person camera. Lord forbid it's a Blendette on one of the more oppressively dark maps and you're not cranking your gamma to blinding levels.
That is nowhere near what I was saying. The fact of the matter is that its not nearly as hard to find a survivor that is within 20 feet of you when you are actively searching for them, especially with something like whispers. Blendettes suck sure, but if my degraded eyes can find them when searching then so can you.

Why is every "counter" that survivors use for Killers to waste a monumental amount of time and give up pressure/take massive risks? Yeah, let me go check every corner of the immediate area, and in doing so give the dude in the locker a massive chance to escape since lockers are almost always near windows/pallets/loops. Let's pretend it's super hard to just stealth around a bit or even sit a little further away since the locker animation is so long you can just sprint forward and get the blind even for 20 meters away.
I don't know what game you guys are playing, but dedicating massive amounts of time to these kinds of searches is a surefire way to lose games. Just like jumping into a locker when the killer can see you should result in the same.
Luckily this isn't a massive problem because most people with flashlights are morons, so it's not the end of the world or anything. Heck, most times I see locker savers it's some sort of duo doing a meme head-on build and intentionally losing the game to get some stuns/saves in, and in that case it's kind of fun and I'll play along.
Be that as it may, a killer should not be punished for making an optimal play and then sabotaging that play by performing a deep search of the area on the off-chance some schmuck has a flashlight. On regular pickups? Sure. You can prepare for that by facing a direction, faking it, etc. With locker grabs there's reaaaally not much you can do.
Are you kidding me? Since when did it take a monumental amount of time to check a corner? Every corner? Can you really not take advantage of your camera and search a few at once? And if you can grab a survivor out of a locker they probably don't realize you know where they are, so the chances of them ditching when you leave is basically 0. Do you really not pay enough attention to your surroundings to know when someone is stalking you for a rescue? These stuns never stop me when I'm playing killer, why should it stop anyone else?
