  • I don't DC from games on either side of the field. the only time I've DC'd is because it locked up or some kicked me out of a game, and I still loose the pip and any items I had. part of it is game error. If only the game could tell the difference and act accordingly. but it's a computer not a person so.

#########? It's toxic just to want to win? I've gotten crushed all the time when I ran cake offerings as killer. Have we reached the point of the rulebook where we can't even want to win anymore? lol

No I play killer too and I understand that sometimes games don't go good for one side. but I have noticed the "Rule book" that killers have to follow but survivors don't. My argument is just that if anyone uses a cake offering isn't just common sense to get the most out of it when it works for everyone?

The rules I've come across that people seem to have(most result in a DC or trash talking

    • Killers are not allowed to camp the hook EVER even if they know that there are thee people around just trying to bait them off the hook for the save
    • Killers can never watch a hook even from a distance away to see someone comes off.
    • Killers can never hook someone who just comes off a hook, even if you're not there and that person runs right into you again.
    • Pig players must ignore anyone with bear trap on their head armed or not. Another hook could result in a DC

there's way more, anyone have a link? I bet someone has recorded all these somewhere.

    As for Survivors

    • do whatever you want, the most broken overpowered builds you can get and get cheep blinds in oh and body block and don't forget to teabag at the door. If the killer doesn't like it, we they're just trash.
  • Yeah with cross play I have the same problem on PC. though I might switch to PS5 when DBD gets there. just because I caught you again doesn't mean you need to DC on my shoulder. I didn't even camp the hook they just know they're going back on it

  • @JHondo said:

I've been playing killers I'm bad with for the purpose of deranking and also practicing those killers and in the last week I've gotten so many Adept achievements as killer in purple just under red ranks that it's been crazy. Hoping when reset hits I'll be able to get the last of the adepts I need so I can work on getting back up to Rank 1 with my mains again.

you've already reached rank 1 why do you even care anymore. I mean if you want to go there that's great but If I ever hit rank 1(not damn likely) I wouldn't care what my rank was ever again.

  • For survivors, it's using every second chance perk in a build, and blinding with the help of pallets knowing that it's free. Not to mention just hanging around a door to teabag and run out

For killers: it's relying on a chainsaw for a one hit down and playing level 3 BBQ Nurses and BM and NOED in the same build, plus a mori on top of that.

  • If a killer beats me, I'm fine with it, it's when a killer doesn't give me a chance to move or do anything at all that I get annoyed, it's worse when I have teammates that do absolutely nothing in the match, sandbag me and yet somehow still survive. while I'm trying to fix gens help others out and keep people alive and I get targeted and die while those others don't.

I guess more excerpts need to be added to the rulebook... If you burn a 4 year cake - you shall take it easy especially in the pressence of other Bloody Party Streamer effects

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/196244/the-unofficial-official-players-rulebook-for-both-sides#latest

It's not about adding to the fake non existent rule book it's like someone said up higher, respect for your opponents, I don't demand that someone give me a free ride if they play a cake, I just question the point of doing it for such a short match when they could get way more points with the bonus added. The most I do is tell the killer off for playing toxic that's it, but sometimes I have to get my feelings out there. I get BS from both sides playing the way someone doesn't like as a killer DC and called trash. having a good game as a killer, insulted by survivors, having a bad game as a killer, insulted by survivors. Having a bad game as survivors; insulted by killers.

There’s lots of.... questionable behaviour at higher ranks.

The other day I was playing as Doc. I’m currently rank 4. Straight out the door these survivors were struggling. I got 7 hooks and 2 sacrifices by the time they got 1 gen done. I was really convinced that they must be really new because they just seemed to always be panicking and not looping well at all.

By the time I had the 3rd survivor on death hook (still only 1 gen done), I took pity part way to a hook and spun on the spot to let them wiggle out. I then proceeded to make it clear I would let them repair and escape. I felt very sorry for how much they were struggling, and I wasn’t using OP perks or add ons (strategy revolved around M&A, Calm, and Dark Devotion).

To my absolute shock on the post match results they all ranged from Rank 5 to Rank 1, with the Rank 1 being one of the dead survivors.

Yeah it's weird, I've had games where I've played with high red ranked survivors and when I got out of the match and saw there ranks I asked myself How???

They did almost nothing during the match, maybe finished one generator, Helped no one off a hook and didn't heal a single person.

  • I'm in this goes for both sides of the game right?

I’m fairness to killers, that is their objective though.

Sometimes survivors just play recklessly with misplaced confidence, and make it easy for the killer to snowball like this.

I understand that too. and maybe it's just the people I play with, because I feel Like I complain the least out of all of them. sure I made this topic it's after weeks and weeks of hearing.

    • That's BS
    • That shouldn't be allowed
    • Killers should be penalized for doing that
    • Greedy Killer
    • Thirsty Killer
    • I hate the pig because survival based on luck is pathetic
    • I played Streamers dammit
    • Why play the 4 year cake if you're just going to destroy us

sure I get frustrated too and it adds up over time but I've notice the most I'll do is tell the killer off and hate those damn Chainsaws and the doctors insanity stuff. but I try not to get that bad.

At least you can counter a DS by not picking them up, you cant counter a mori if you are downed immediatly after a hook

very true, I'd also like to know why some killers bring in endgame perks like NOED and Rankor when you have no intention on letting the game get that far in the first place. No I don't mean the killers that end up winning out in the end, I mean the ones that put so much pressure on a team that nothing gets done or they kill the obsession right off the bat making those perks useless.

The same goes for survivors who complain about slugging. Its one only counters to DS and BT

As for moris. If I get hit by one and I'm on death hook, It doesn't bother me, but when I'm hit with one less then 5 minutes into a game because someone pulled me off a hook right in front of the killer and I'm out, then it's annoying and you can't counter them at all.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

There are plenty of ways to play for fun in DBD.

I like to occasionally play basement guard or shack guard, where I’ll wait there until the survivors come looking for me wondering what the hell im doing. I’ll hit them every time they try to enter the shack or basement.

They eventually catch on and it becomes a silly challenge for them to see if they can get past me, and if I can keep them out. I usually laugh my butt off the whole time.

and that's awesome, I do that sometimes as a killer too, sadly it's hard to communicate that to the survivors. I like the challenges and daily rituals. and if I get a 4K I get one but I don't feel I HAVE to have one every game. I've run into many killers as a survivor that just want you dead and it's over and that's what's frustrating. As a survivor I don't need to get out EVERY game too but when it doesn't even feel like game and more of a slaughterhouse that's frustrating.

  • I'm starting to realize that the majority of the problems that people complain about aren't devs it's the players. The devs make something and the players are the ones that are "hey I can use this perk like this and there's nothing a killer can do about it?" and they go crazy with it

and for Killers "what you mean that I can do this, this and this with no way for survivors to counter.?" better do it every single time because this is a killing simulator not a hand holding one. Yes there are balancing issues and that on the devs but you really can't blame them when people figure out they can do something and do it.

  • @Xzan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1664467#Comment_1664467

It's a killing simulator. Or do Killers now have different goals?

I'm at a point in this game where I don't really care about bps anymore. I have all Killers on P3 and nearly 50% of the survivors, too. Don'r get me wrong, if there are 5 BPS/Cakes or whatever and the other side wants to farm, I'm in. But if there is no intention for that, the round is played like every other round.

but you do see the point I'm trying to make right?

  • @DFP said:

I may have stated that wrong, I'm working on the challenge/archive bloodweb looking thingamajig, I realize now the Rift is it's own seperate tab on the same page. ^_^' My bad.

yeah, the tome challenges aren't going anywhere, you will still get the lore unlocks and blood points for them. just not the rift fragments

  • I don't count EGC plays as camping the gates are open at that point. If they want someone off the hook that badly they deserve to be taken down too.

  • @Xzan said:

I'm not interested in dragging out onesided games. If I can end a game in 5 minutes, why shouldn't I? It's PvP, not handholding simulator.

The point is even the killer gets more blood points the longer the match goes on. and if you're going to play something that gives bonus blood points to everyone on both sides wouldn't it be smart to get the absolute most out of it? and to counter you're argument it's not a killing simulator either and when games end that quickly it sure feels like it is.

  • How far into the rift are you? there are a total of 70 tiers to the rift.

  • @GoodLookinCookin said:

After playing a while, the game can get very repetitive very fast. Make do with what you have and try to have fun otherwise maybe play another game until your back in the mood.

Very true I just needed to vent that because it feels that way sometimes, even playing as killer I really wouldn't enjoy a round that I could end in less then five minutes

  • That's really too bad man, I get it a lot too. people are just saying it to be trolls because you did something they didn't like. I was playing killer one time and was accused of "Engine Camping" isn't it my job to keep you off of the Generators??? it's not my problem that you were going back and forth between the same 2 of them and I knew it.

  • @adsads123123123123 said:

    Winning is fun though.

yes it is. But that doesn't mean that people have to win every game they play. I can still loose a game and find fun in it, but that seems to be a very rare case for a lot of people who play this game, "oh I'm going to loose?" better DC ######### the killer and the rest of my team, as a killer I "can't catch this person right away" Better DC. "Oh I see mori" better DC and end the entire game. "Oh no it's a killer I can't stand" Better DC too bad rest of the team.

Grrr I can't believe I got killed last round by the worst killer ever!

    ...one more match.

Pretty sad but yeah it feels like that sometimes. I get frustrated but I've never rage quit, even as a killer a team can give me the run around I still stick it out, my enjoyment goes out the window and I don't care anymore but I won't rage quit then either. Any DC's I have are because the game kicked me out or froze and I still loose a pip and any item I played.

  • How often do I get Camped or tunneled???? at least every other game, either I ditch a generator and get tunneled or I just come off the hook and get tunneled. or they're playing as leather face or hillbilly and I have to deal with that damn one hit chainsaw. and as a killer I don't like when I hook someone and I see about 2 other people just waiting for me to walk away for then unhook who get mad at me for not leaving when I know they're right there.

  • Never, I use the pallet to go for the stun or to slow a killer down who's chasing me.

I run BT and DS so i can play the game when the killer wants to try endgame tactics in the beginning of the game. Running strong perks doesn't make me or anyone here bad.

I'm not saying that you're bad, what I'm saying is that any high ranked players I've played with are usually running those and they do little if anything during the match to help others so I wonder how they got that high a rank in the first place if they played so selfishly.

OK let me explain my response

    1. Do you have evidence
    2. Did you finish process
    3. If You mean finding people at the start of the match very quickly there are strats you can learn to find people quickly
    4. Why would you talk to the cheater? Even if you forgot to record, making them think they got away with it could get them into a game where someone did record and they were cheating.
    5. For the future I recommend using a recording tool so you can always have evidence while playing.

The person who actually was effected by this alleged cheating is dealing with it themselves and yes they do have evidence, I was just asking in general. because if so Come on people

Here's the thing I hate about keys as killer.

I can be doing very well, and have 2 people killed off with 2 gens left, I start pressuring the gens, but oh, the survivor has a key to get a 2 man escape, oh well.

It's the most annoying thing in the game, besides dead hard for distance for me, and the biggest "'######### you" to the killer.

While moris are more overpowered, at least I know I'm dead when I see that secret offering.

Yeah this is a pretty big middle finger, I honestly don't think moris should be secret at this point in the game, every time you see that secret offering 99 percent of the time it's a mori and some people Disconnect based on that alone. I've played separation offerings as a killer and had someone DC while the match was loading assuming a mori would be my guess.

I am having a hard time even understanding what your trying to say as your comment seems to be talking to three different people but you only quoted me.

Anyways none of that really seems to address any issues brought up by anyone so I am even more confused as what does trying to attack the unhooker have anything to do with being body blocked by the BT person making attacking the unhooker impossible unless your nurse/spirit?

I get what you are trying to say as well. I understand that borrowed time is supposed to be protection from killers who camp the hook, However and I've run into this too as a killer, some people use it to play as toxic as possible. I've had survivors in cases where I literally take two steps away from the hook with no intention of camping it pull people off right in front of me. I'm not close enough to just grab them because I'm not camping them. and the borrowed time person takes the hit which does nothing and the haste effect kicks in and they're gone.

I'd like the devs to notice this and make some changes. I don't see that happening without a HUGE backlash.

  • Speaking of not doing anything, I'm I the only one who thinks it's weird that you get crows from not moving when you're down? If the killer abandons you and you're staying where others saw you go down why should you get tagged for not moving. Or is it just a basic thing that only looks at player movement and not the reasons why you might not want too.

  • Yeah DS is annoying too. I feel that borrowed time is crutch that some players can't live without. I used to use spine chill quite a lot but I think that's a crutch too. I've stopped using it and I'm relying on my own eyes more, the game still plays about the same without it in my case.

I challenge any high ranked player to play without any of these 4 things

    • Borrowed Time
    • Spine Chill
    • Decisive Strike
    • premonition

If you can hold on to your high rank without them then you truly deserve to have it

many high ranked people I've seen are all running 3 of those 4 things Spine chill can be switched out with prem

Not only is rank reset good, but they even messed up by making it reset you less in its last rework. It needs to be brought back to its original reset.

True, why are people still complaining about a rank reset? Back when the game was first out and for a long time after you went back to 20 no matter what rank you were. there was no holding on to rank you lost it all every month.

  • yeah it does take longer to find matches as a killer and once a certain time hits it's harder for everyone.

You mean when the Blight rushes into a nearby wall and then does a lethal rush to hit a Survivor?

not exactly, I mean when blight dashes into about 3 walls and or trees and then gets the lethal rush.

    • wraith isn't weak
    • a buff to deme would make sense
    • get rid of borrowed time entirely
    • try to get some new maps instead of different versions of the same ones
    • punish face camping
    • give killers more then one mori that would be chosen at random
    • make some of the moris better and less lame.
    • get rid of hillbilly if I had the rights to leather face.
    • Try to get Robert England Freddy not 2010 Freddy(could be impossible)
    • make people pay for standing at the door and waiting just to tea bag a killer
    • balance a lot of perks
    • Lock one personal perk to each killer and survivor
  • another tiny suggestion: two steps into a wall should not count as a dash to charge a lethal dash. I see and hear blights doing this all the time.

    • wraith isn't weak
    • a buff to deme would make sense
    • get rid of borrowed time entirely

  • I know I'll be hanging on to the unique items as long as I can

  • I loved that game. it was twin peaks weird and the conclusion was dark as all hell.

I have the directors cut on PS3 and I've played through it at least twice. I'm pretty sure I platinumed it.

  • I'm thinking we won't see them yet, they're pushing that pointless stadia launch pretty hard today. and I only say pointless because steam is already a thing, great that they're getting the game out there on other platforms though.

  • A more accurate small game would be good, there is the perk from Tapp Detectives hunch that clearly shows you where totems are when your near gens that pop.

  • They don't hurt my feelings per say but when survivors on your team do it It's upsetting because they just made the game harder for you.

As a killer it just makes me ask the question "are you that afraid you're going to loose?"

Not to mention any time I get a good rhythm going as a killer and a team can't bully me, I get at least 1 to 2 DCs

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/195626/an-idea-to-make-moris-less-frustrating-for-people

If you do that you will have three times as much camp and tunnel...

Why do you think there are so many mori? Because the killers got nerves one by one, and today these killers eat SWF and you can ask any killer (random or youtube), when you are overwhelmed by this kind of team, and you need BP, you camp and tunnel. Today the killers are so used to DS and others that they don't laugh anymore, Mori. As soon as they feel a strong team in the lobby they imagine the worst part and so take Mori. I don't do it, because I think it's not fairplay, but it's legitimate !

I understand that too, the tunneling and camping is already really bad. I see your point, players disconnect before the match starts and the negates the entire thing. so you waited in a match que got one and now it's over. I'm not against moris either but sometimes they make a game too short as a survivor. Plus you have to admit some of them are really lame.

  • I like Myers, the demegorgan and Pyramid Head.

  • graphical updates are great and all that but we could really use better map rotation. the estate and coldwin farm look pretty much the same. I played some games the other week that were all on Badham pre school just with different numbers next to them. I'm talking 3 in a row without offerings.

I know making new maps isn't a cheap thing and I'm not saying it NEEDS to happen but with these realms and all what if you had different maps in Hadonfield, or Silent Hill may not be able to happen and I can except that instead of one map for some and 3 versions of other maps and so on.

  • I would seriously like to know how many people have been carried to rank 1. because I'm doing my best and playing the game the way I want to and I'm nowhere close to that.

I shouldn't have to rely on a meta to get any better at the game. eg use these perks at all times kind of stuff. rank isn't a be all end all for me. However seeing people at high ranks do less work then I do in a game and somehow staying there is weird to me. and don't even get me started on the DC's because they're insane.

  • I said the doctor was too oppressive. His shock blast can hit you between floors, the madness messes with skill checks far too much not to mention can randomly point out where you are thanks to insanity. I know the reworked him a few times OG Doctor didn't have static blast and you had to choose between shocking and hitting you couldn't do both.

I'm not saying revert back to that, that might be a bit too far but he does need some stuff done. and no Just hide in a locker doesn't work if they have iron maiden
