i'll give a quick run: You are correct in saying tunneling takes more skill than holding m1 but only against 1 person. When tunneling your effectively showing your able to chase that 1 person out with them at a handicap or how that 1 person can run you the whole match with a handicap. Your gamble argument falls against killers with a brain as they know when to drop chases and pick time and targets. Camping requires thinking, but not much skill as your pritty much waiting for the survivors to make a mistake. Shows a lack of skill (and sometimes smarts) for the survivors, but doesnt show skill for the killer. I do not see how finishing gens is the lowest risk (hiding) and skill (camping) or highest reward (honestly idk what this one would be) in the game.

Accuse another party of what you are being accused of, great strategy mate. Working well.
Since this is a different topic and your topic, i kinda expected you to stay on topic but if you insist i'll make a post for said other.

Explain how my post was a bait considering it was all fair arguments and lots of thoughts/effort put into it.
I'll take that as a yes
Is there counter arguments to the counter arguements?

I played him once, teleported to a gate to try and catch someone on the Swamp, ended up on the second story of the boat and MESSED ME UP. XD
Old RPD was fun for those times, though I did often get a nice juice survivor in closets from these funnily enough.
-
First off aren't you the one who made that bait post on how camping and tunneling is skillful?
- It's a risk and reward situation at pallets. I've seen just as many successful uses as extremely funny failures. It boils to who flinched first and how.
- Your correct that some situations you can't wait it out, but in other situations it's better to get it outta the way asap. I rarely wait for dh and I'm at least successful roughly 1/2 the time if for no other reason than sheer surprise.
- While new hard is stronger in the open, it's just as easy to bait or hit out in the open too. I prefer hitting but I'd think baiting is easier.
- Doesn't remove the fact that no more dh for distance. A major pain for all m1 killers.
- So people are doing what smart people will do. Adapting. Now killers are going to adapt ( or whine) and back and forth ping pong. As a personal opinion, I believe it definitely takes skill to use new hard, especially compared to old hard.
Survivors (at least that I've seen) can't immediately dh and throw a pallet unless hit. If they can't then it's not an uncounterable situation. If they can, I'd think that actually would take some skill to pull off. May be wrong about this but this is our opinion.

He's fun and can be spooky~ Love running around in the darkness and hunting people knowing they're as blind as I usually am. Only real complaint is how lockers spawn and how it affects Dredge

Needing to stun the killer will increase the amount of Trickster & Huntress you see by 20%
Needing hook saves will make your team so good that the team escapes with the killer only getting 2 hooks all game
Needing to escape will make your teammates suddenly really bad.
correction: needing hook saves or escapes will increase your odds of face camping bubbas by 75%

At work again on phone so bear with me plz
If it works like PH cages then trying for pallet saves, blind saves, body blocks, power struggle, sabotage would be gone and something would need to replace that as survivors have minimal to do as is.
I have absolutely no idea how you honestly think having a survivor on hook doesn't generate pressure. That's 1 survivor not doing anything for their team and (hopefully) at least another going for the unhook soon. If they leave the survivor on the hook then they're down another hook state and easier to permanently remove them from the trial. And to answer your question, the current system as you know where your tunnel target is when unhooked. (Admittedly this is a matter of opinions)
I agree that neither of us can account for whatever behavior plans but as stated above, PH style removes survivor saves (glory to the cages) which have saved me alot of times and as before, endgame teleports could simply teleport the survivor to an opened door.
As for the final paragraph, can you please elaborate Abit more clearly for me as how I'm reading it is confusing for us on what point needs dissected
-
Funny thing is it didt realy fix what they wanted to did it
-
no, it does indeed explode as survivors are forced to let go and deadmans again synergizes with it.
Still doesnt make a notification though
-
Something that GREATLY rewards playing round robin with the hooks (like grim embrace...but worth while) or by giving a target to immediately head after. That said, when alls said and done, players will do as they will.

I mean, that can kinda be said for most mate. Use power this way, hit, repeat.

I didnt say as soon as they are down, you can definetly still slug i'm only replacing the whole process of picking someone up and carrying them to somewhere. It will work basicly like pyramid head when he cages a survivor, he does little animation and survivor goes away.
Replacing that and you make trying to save that poor sod on the floor obsolete along with various perks.
-
Now that i have time to disect~....
Fixing the survivors score as a team is something id advocate for but I dont think it would stop selfish plays much as the ones actually doing the work will be gaining bloodpoints for said selfish teammate. Sure it would stop everyone from being selfish as nothing would get done, but it comes with people who do nothing getting more bp than they should (or deserve may be the correct term). That said adding an MVP who gets a bonus would be very nice in our eyes.
As a side note, im pritty sure someone suggested something along shared bp along while ago but got shot down for similar reasons (if my choppy memory serves right).
For the killer change, im not sure its good as a whole as the 2 cheesey kills only really matter to the current mmr or player's satisfaction. I know I and a good few others can enjoy a 8 hook no kill game as long as it was ya know...a good game. The usual ones who camp and tunnel are:
A: The ones who do it for fun (the usual ones)
B: The ones desperate to turn the match/ secure a kill, either from altruism to them being the only survivor they can find. (Which your change would stop them from being found again immediately)

You could still slug if you want to bait out someone coming for a rescue or if you enter a chase with someone who is on their last stage, in that scenario you keep the guy slugged and are free to chase to chase someone that can get sacrificed on down. Sending survivor away for the entity to feed on them is alot faster than picking up, risk losing the pick to a flashlight save or pallet stun, carry them to a Hook and hooking them. That's how you gain time and pressure. It's a faster process than carrying survivors to a hook and you're keeping the 3v1 aspect. That survivor still has to respawn and go somewhere useful. While the killer is already somewhere useful for him, already on another chase or pressuring a gen or doing both at once.
I'm forcing new players into matches between themselves before they join the rest of experienced players. It keeps players who are already under MMR rules from getting matched with new players. Which prevents killers from bulllying new players and helps SoloQ survivors because they don't get complete new comers as teammates.
As you've corrected saying slugs would still exist, how exactly would we be feeding the spider? (we were under the assumption that its akin to PH's cages) If the killer has to carry the survivor to some kinda portal/hellbeast all well and good but the problem remains that this lessens the pressure a normal hook grants as only 1 survivor is temporarily out of play instead of 2-4. With said upcoming basekit unbreakabil slugging may not force other survivors off those gens they love. It also is a buff for survivors at the end as hellbeast/portals may spawn them close to an opened door. Im all for anti camp (im neutral to tunneling) but killers need options that wont obviously screw them over. (Just to be a nit picker but this wouldnt do a think to streamsnipers though as they are watching the screen....)
Im gona skip perk chages cause thats all over the forums. Im also gona skip the new player ideas cause thats to much a "to each his own" deal.
More types of items would be nice and BHVR are working on having bots to train against. (Im guessing about a yr or 2 but im pessimistic)
We can allow ourselves abit of hope that the devs will make things better for the whole community but everything needs to be thought through from both sides thoroughly (admittedly im speaking for their upcoming idea so apologies for the deviation)
Damn thats alota words~

You specified as soon as they were downed, meaning slugs won't exist.
Psa still at work and low battery so will continue later

I'm at work ATM so I'm gonna go piece meal at random so forgive plz.
Removing hooks entirely removes something they buy killers, time and pressure. They get at least 2 survivors off objectives. While it would remove camping and easy tunneling and for added bonus slugging if I'm reading right, killers NEED to pressure survivors in multiple ways.
Adding new survivors is nice in concept but would be a pain for people looking to play with friends. I'd argue force the tutorial (and improve it) over forcing new players into matches

I mean of course there are better perks for certain killers, but that perk specifically is gonna be used a lot after these changes because of the possible chance you get everyone after it procs, it can literally end the game now if it pays off and certain killers will take complete advantage of that, I can't hate too much though I myself am going for speedruns with a few different killers once the changes hit but people need to be made aware this didn't solve anything it made it worse.
Well that's what the testings for. Gather undeniable video proof and force people to look at the truth then see how far the rabbit hole will go.
Again, I think it's good that BHVR is at least trying to stop the 4 slug 5 gen area and giving moris focus. What I also think is that it hasn't been thought through enough. What I KNOW is that we know nothing till we see.
-
While I commend your efforts of unity, I don't think it will unite the 5 factions of dbd...

That's exactly what Ive been saying, expect to see snowball killers with cracked out builds to instantly end the game, you won't see a nurse without starstruck anymore , actually starstruck is most definitely about to be in the new meta because alot of killers can benefit from it and people aren't seeing that the most sweaty people you can imagine are gonna be coming out for speedruns on the fastest recorded 4ks because that just became really easy to contest without the need of hooking the slugs
While I'm doubtful starstruck will go on someone like onryu, can't argue the sweating is Gona drown the game...

"On the one hand:
- Slugging for the 4k and unnecessary slugging will be gone"
How are you all missing the point here?
Slugging for the 4K will be META, it will happen even more.
- It will be the only way to secure a finisher Mori, especially when bringing an Ebony Mori offering.
- It will enable the killer to bypass multiple hook stages, as much as 6, if they tunnel out 2 survivors then slug the remaining 2.
- Tons of killers will still want their 4K and 45s slug windows won't stop them.
Simple slugging won't be meta because the smart survivors will simply hide and wait if they see a slug ball. Your also not taking into account all the people who will bring unbreakable. Simply put slugging for the 4k will only continue with the ones who ALREADY do it with a few more joining and leaving that strategy.
-
On the one hand:
- Slugging for the 4k and unnecessary slugging will be gone
- BHVR is showing a willingness to change base things on both sides that doesn't involve perks
- We get unobstructed moris
- Tenacity somehow got effectively buffed
On the other hand:
- Alot of snowball killers are going to be getting quick matches (for better or worse)
- SWF bully squads just got alot more power to them
- Giving hatch is now alot harder
- Exciting last minute plays will be gone
- Certain perks getting nerfed (Rancor and Devour are sore ones personally)
Basically baskit unbreakable will make the matches more tolerable for survivors, especially when the killer wants to be a prick and 4 man slug at the start. However, as above, bully squads are gona be having a blast if everything shown goes live. Overall, while I like the idea, I dont think they thoroughly thought it through. I really hope they change some details before everything hits the fan.
-
Is it on specific maps or all? Probably should record a match so everyone here can guess correctly.
-
Don't suppose its the obsession noise? When your the obsession there's a quick sound that plays. Im just kinda guessing here tbh.
-
Is it at the start or just randomly? Might also just be the map.

Yeah people really don't go against Twins. I run into them from time to time so they' re not on my list. Demigorgon would fall in right after the six i listed, quite rare to see him.
Blight though? People encounter Blight all the time and he's a top 2 killer so that's interesting. Must be a region thing or the times you specifically play.
To be fair I'm not playing because my rift only has survivor left. And I have a grudge against billy due to ALL of them walking up and trying to point blank saw me

well I can try hitting survivor that ran to deadzone immediatally and get unlucky and let surv boost away to god window,shack.....
Maybe I should feel good for making them DW?
I think DH atleast should work differently for some of the killers power.
It should not work for chainsaws,Demon strike,T3 Myers.
For hatchet I guess I'll use exaution addon every time.....
Well atm you got 2 options: Hit them and see where the chips fall or stick on them, hope they screw up and hit them. Having it changed again is just asking for trouble, broken game, broken perk (in both sense) or all the above.
As a side note i have not a clue what DW stands for. Holding D and W?

At the very start it either the one with the tightest 3-gen or the one closest/on basement is generally what I find the best. Generally it doesn't matter too much at the start but remember that most people are thinking the same thing which can lead to a 3-gen easily.

1. Your personal survival rate does not mean the kill rate isn't high. That would be like me take my multiple 4k wraith games and saying "Wraiths should all get 4ks because I do"
2. In those games where YOU escaped, did everyone escape or was it a 1 man escape, hatch escape, etc? Because you escaping. Because 1 person escaping or barely escaping doesn't counter anything I said
So I'm gonna be the one to point out things for giggles.
Is it always skill causing the high kill rate? Tunneling and camping? Survivors giving up for whatever stupid reason? We don't know.
There are so many factors in a trial

What does the other survivor do? Run them right over to me and points me out, just so they can farm me right off the hook until I die and the killer lets the other survivor escape. This is the 3rd time this happened this week, why do you killers do this just because you can't find me?
Honestly depends on my mood and how the match was from my view. If I haven't seen you all game i'll make it a point of pride to atleast get you hooked before I kill the other one.
