The Issue With Basekit Effects... Kind Of...
Let's say you have Person A and Person B.
Person A only plays Killer. Person B only plays Survivor. Both Person A and Person B lack any form of empathy for their opposing side, they lack the ability to see issues the other side might go through, and only wants to see benefits to both sides.
Person A and Person B are a small part of the community, however they are quite vocal about their opinions and casually browse the forums, respond the post with outlandish claims, and both fight often.
Killer receives a basekit effect. Person B is furious, they are pis- mad, they are mad. "Why cant survivor get a basekit effect?" they ask. But Person A shows no empathy for the issues it might solve.
Survivor receives a basekit effect. What a travesty, what an absolute piece of baloney, and Person A is not having it. "Well if survivors can get a basekit effect? Why cant we get something?" they say. But Person B shows no empathy for the issues it might solve.
Tell me, how often do you see this on the forums?
I dont think either side will be happy with a change the developers make. But one of the most frustrating things to see, for me personally, is whenever the community uses a constant "what-about-ism" to justify things being awful. Just because Person A or Person B is having their issue solved, doesnt mean you are going to be left in the dust.
People forget we are community. And as a community, we need to help make this game better for everyone, not just a single side. And sometimes it takes one step at a time, but at the end of the day, to climb that staircase you cant skip a step, youll risk falling right on your face.
