  • For fair reason:

A form of corrupt intervention, all gens for maybe 30 seconds max but goes down at first chase rather than down.

    For personal greed:

BBQ and grim embrace. Give me a target when I hook ppl and rewards for hooking everyone.

  • To add our 2 cents:

Blindness as zeido said above won't block boxes. Only an add on does. Pigs strength (in our opinion) is her flexibility. Her power is "customizable" and has a little of anything. As long as you can play m1 effectively, everything else is a bonus. (Side note, your heartbeat is muted for a second when coming out of crouching, which can be used for cheep hits or grabs on certain maps

Anything good for a m1 killer essentially works for her. Hex devour or haunted grounds work but most other hexes are meh.

Our build consists of SH gift, haunted grounds, bamboozle, and 4th of players choice (recommend deadlock for serious build, thano or noed for thematic)

Honestly we're just throwing out random tips but hope it helps a little.

  • We run thematic builds and just go for it. We don't really care what the survivors expect and always get a smile when we surprise them. Basically play in a way that makes you not hate yourself, NEVER take the opposing side seriously, and you'll have fun (barring the bullies and wana-be bullies, those you need to stomp for community service~).

As to how to take a loss, its a game mate. The ones that take it to seriously are the ones who need help. We don't know any other word that fits except help.

  • Disregarding the toxicity, maps would currently be at the top of the list. Alot of maps make it hell for m1 killers from either size or the loops and certain maps are super unsafe for survivors unless they hold w as soon as they think troubles coming, and thats not even taking into account gen spawns on alot of maps. Take Haddonfield. Size wise we'd say its ok but outside is a death sentence against a competent killer while the houses are torture for said killer and the lovely 3-4 gen at Meyer's home.

  • Actually, for fairness sake i should point out that 4/5 of our matches as survivor will slug for the 4k, tunnel the ever loving [beep] out of someone for good or ill and iff for ill repeatedly swing at them while face camping and shaking nooooo like they did something wrong or some mix there of. And of those killers about a 5th of them that actually talk will throw out enough toxicity that youd think it was a survivor that died.

  • Considering i'll get BM, toxic chat, and alot of wana-be bully squads, for playing normal as killer (if somewhat aggressive), then chances are as good as everyone on the forum winning a lotto ticket.

  • Weekends tend to bring out teams and ttvs. Eventually you'll get a competent (not necessarily smart mind you) team that will try to speed run the gens.

  • Open a door and escape the Raccoon City Pain Department. Multiple times. [BEEP]. this. achievement. (With doc's stick!)

Holy hell, we just noticed this is from september...

Pyramid head is so hard to control though. For me at least. Im on Console so I dont know if that makes a difference

Not too sure, but we're on pc with a controller. As long as you can predict where they're going (or use im all ears like most for window loops) then hits will come natural. But we're biased so take it with some salt (preferably the survivor's). If you want a full list to look at another we will happily provide.

  • Pyramid head, death slinger on certain ones, wesker and demo at others, depends what from of anti-loop ya want. Personally, we love pyramid head as he also punishes stupid plays very nicely.

  • In a sense yes dredge is a read and hunt killer (from our understanding anyway) but he also wants to keep a "territory" like hag. The difference being it's "territory" is the gens by lockers. Find survivor by any means hook, port, repeat while defending the gens. It does play alot more like an m1 killer than either hag or demo though for most things. We apologize if we're misunderstanding somethin here.

  • Long as they dont last second swap to them we're mostly fine with them. (Most them tend to hide all match which kinda annoys us)

  • Rpd 4 times in a row mate. No offerings used. The entity favors misery when it comes to maps mate.

  • To our knowledge, it has always prioritized survivors though with that narrow hitbox it usually hit pallets any way

  • Depends on the killer as we try to make thematic builds. Doc and demo run 3 while trickster and pig have 0 (though gift of pain and thano are in play).

  • @ChiSoxFan11 said:

I have a pretty "normal" build for Pig, with three perks that have worked really well for me. Corrupt, to give you an opportunity to get a chase (and hopefully a down and trapped survivor) before a gen pops, Call of Brine, and Pain Resonance (while I do kick gens a good bit with COB, I like having the Scourge Hook in play to nail the gen that most needs it in a pinch). I've given some thought to running Eruption in place of PR, but I haven't tried that yet. For the fourth perk, there are a lot of options to work with -- Deadlock, STBFL, Brutal/Enduring for pallets are just a few options. For a little spice, I like to run Hex: Plaything -- it gives survivors yet another objective to do to slow the game down, and I've lost count of the number of times I've caught an Oblivious survivor running into me looking to get their trap off, or an injured survivor at a Jigsaw box I'm nearing for an easy down.

I've seen Pigs who "save" their traps for late-game -- IMO, that's a huge mistake. A trap on hand when the last gen is powered is completely useless, so don't wait to get them on. If you have three traps on at the same time, even if none of them are active, that's likely three survivors do no gen work, allowing you to get control of the pace of the game. Ideally, getting a survivor trapped before the first gen pops is ideal, though not always feasible. It's the start you should be aiming for. A game for me that is running well almost always has at least one survivor I'm chasing, another trying to get a trap off (active or inactive), maybe a third on hook, and at most one survivor on gens. Pig's slowdown in the form of her traps is one of the most underrated weapons in the game -- take advantage of it.

(Devs, ignore everything I've said. And everything else everyone else says. In fact, ignore this thread altogether. Please leave our Piggie alone already.)

Relaaaaax~ Everyone loves booping snoots so they wouldn't dare touch her~

Do you base it on just a good match or just them immediately asking for mercy at the start of the match?

Personally we go by how each specific survivor played. Begging at the start usually wont get anywhere though some exceptions such as the start of an event apply. Using busted tiles over and over again or running as soon as you hear a heart beat also wont get you mercy. Basically its user discretion on what we wana do with a survivor at our (lack of) mercy.

Example story, today had a game where there were 2 witches (probably a swf) a feng and a david. The witches were trying to be [BEEP]es with ineffective flashlights and tbagging at pallets (for awhile anyway, the joys of artist) and usual, feng...well poor feng tried atleast but kept going down quick when we chased her. David on the other hand was trying his damnest and put up a decent fight but at the end the second witch went down near him and I got him as well. Proceeded to hook the witch and she died and as I got to david the hatch spawned under me (never as a survivor). He did the little slug begging and I've had so many survivors just plain give up today that I rewarded (in my mind anyway) his tenacity and a decent hunt with the hatch. Dout any of those survivors thought it was a good match but again, I felt like rewarding someone who fought tooth and nail at that time.

Again, its a how you feel thing. No one is entitled to anything here (despite forum out cries) or deserves anything so you gotta do you.

  • Anything thats good for m1 killers is good for pig. Hensen's build above probably works the best (recommend brutal strength over enduring) While sneaking is fun, the crouch is only effective on maps that favor stealth killers normally and the dash is more often than not a hit or miss, though if you think you can pull it off, sneaking up close to a gen then uncrouching usually is a nice way to give people heart attacks and get a hit/grab off a gen.

Using the traps effectively depends on what you want (we're probably gona butcher what we mean so if its confusing we're sorry). Simple version, trap=useless survivor. Generally a trapped survivor is 1 that usually wont be working on a gen so we like to spread the traps out so that 1 person has an active trap and 1 has a inactive 1 which causes atleast 2 survivors to not be working at any given time. While dont go out of your way for it, if you notice a survivor working on a box and your going that way anyway, get them off it.

  • Honestly its more of a "in the moment" thing. Some survivors actually earn respect or are friendly so we go through the match and see what happens and go from there.

  • Swam Creature: MYC, SH: Pain res, SH: Gift of pain, Franklins. Scourge hooks do most the work for ya as long as you can get a hook while trapping items is just fun~

Artist: Spies, SH: pain res, STBFL, 4th of your choice (we cycle between pop, sloppy, or dark devotion) Our normal Artist build with the 4th cycling depending if we want gen regression, easier downs, or a laugh.

Pig: Thano, SH: Gift, Haunted grounds (or dragon's grip), bamboozle (or brine/NOED) Pick your poison version pig. Survivors heal, they work on gens slower, they can risk those shiny bones to see if a teammate will be screwed (doesnt work as well with swat swfs but can), and bamboozle for some pesky loops. if you go the alt version then they risk dragons grip or a dead gen.

Edit: forgot it said killers only

  • It's an ancient insense burner so presumably the normal weapon is made of some kinda metal. While not super heavy we'd imagine being hit over the head with effectively a chunk of warm metal (it is burning something) with force would be enough to injure a normal person.

  • While "easy" counter is abit wrong, you were claiming (or at least heavily implying) that the artist has no interactive play and should receive a nerf. While we see little in the way of....constructive?...arguments, artist is fine as she stands and (gona be a repeater here) go play her till you meet a real team of survivors. She can only meaningfully zone you if you already have crows, if she drops a crow at a loop, leave to the next one as shes placing and repeat (she only has so many crows and for so long so you can just return to the loop later), and before you say anything about going to a deadzone or the like, if your in 1 of those it doesnt matter who the killer is, your gona get hit.

Hopefully no one takes this advice as we like our predictable prey every now and again

  • Killer: Spies from the Shadows. Finding people is always the hardest for us and whispers is to vague. It also helps with our artist shots.

Survivor: Kindred. We always feel blind without it and if we only get 1 perk, we may as well see death commin for us.

  • Since the normal responses here will be an echo chamber, I'll throw out things that might help.

If she is tossing a crow down, leave to the next loop. There's a very clear audible signal when shes placing 1. If you get hit at a pallet, that's entirely on you as you can not loop her in the normal way. You have to chain tiles and not be predictable. Zoning only works if you already have crows on you, which can be removed while running, quickly running into a locker, or even a flash bang if in a pinch (though not recommended).

  • Logic answer: first loss dragged mmr down to potato levels and the killer showed some kinda mercy

    Real answer: Random number entity

  • Never seen moris as standard but at least Mikey boy will continue the kill spree~

I'm not trapping #########, you #########. I'm slugging one so he can't do gens, and I'm not hooking him so the other can't take hatch. Ask me how I know you don't even play killer

Before you dig that hole deeper, let's take a breath.

You say you "deserve" that 4k for playing well. Is the survivor who isn't slugged playing well by avoiding you or are you playing poorly by not finding? Tell me, does that 4k really mean THAT much that you want to drag out the match? You can't blame the survivor for hiding as their objective is to try and escape by any means. If it means leaving the slug do be it, just as survivors can't blame you for slugging for that 4k.

But some unwanted advice. If this is REALLY causing so much distress, then you need to take a breather mate.

  • I vote for 2 killer, 2 survivor, and a weekly one that can be done by either side.

That's what I was thinking too. It could lead to Nurse buffs. However, I am honestly very interested in all the people saying that Nurse is an insta-win to show footage of their next 500 games and 'win streaks' using Nurse.

    Que the losing montage!~

  • @drsoontm said:

It would certainly drop her kill rate a lot.

    Think they'd buff her after?~

  • @RaSavage42 said:

OK so... If I understand this correctly (please be kind to me if I miss something)

    1) Nurse isn't the only Killer that prevents perks from working properly... Stridor Spirit anyone?

    2) Nurse is the only Killer that moves slower then Survivors... which is one reason that she has the power she has

    3) Piggybacking off of 2... also the reason that she's declared as an M1 Killer (her Power is for movement... Like Wraith and Spirit)

    4) As someone who wants this game to be as balanced as possible (which it can't be... cause it's Asym) I don't understand why Survivors want every Killer to be the same... can someone explain it to me

    5) If Nurse gets the Special Attack that people have discussed then what happens to the other Killers that have the same mechanic... Wraith and Spirit

When talking about the recharge and range addons... what specifically are you saying is wrong with them...

I did have a few suggestions to change her but someone brought up the other side to those (and they make sense)

    1. Yes, though you forgot nemi and franklin's (I think anyway)
    2. Yep since Burger King Myers is gone
    3. Kinda yep
    4. A good chunk of the vocal ones hate anything that deviates from the normal or having to adapt or something
    5. Probably the same thing
  • We're curious as to where we fit in here.

We don't really have a preference unless and usually pick based on our mood, rift, or achievement s needed. We can comfortably play artist just as well as a lone James out alone

  • Top 3 options in our experience:

Take a step back to readjust or charge but it helps just to take a second to guarantee the hit.

Tap instead of lunge when super close as said above is also a 9/10 hit unless next to an object.

"Cleaving" ie swinging across the screen surprisingly does well with a controller on PC, idk if this helps you or not but give it a go

  • Please for the love of the entity, dont spread this virus :{

  • If it makes ya feel better, we've been left on hook for less, such as playing Claudette or our steam name

  • Shelter woods with honorable mentions to rotton fields and midwich

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/351903/map-voting

The way to do map voting is similar to how you handle children sharing a dessert. In the case of children one cuts and the other chooses which half their sibling gets.

For picking the map: one side if they use a map offering should let the killer choose which map inside of that tile set. Obviously maps that only go to one place need to be "united" so that there is a meaningful choice.

Imagine for example that you use a farm offering: the killer will always pick abattoir because it is the smallest map and the only fair farm map. But even that is not exactly fair so inside each option there should be a "random map" as a nth choice. So for example you could pick swamp map and the killer might get the option via random choice to pick clown map instead.

Agreed with this one the most. Basically dbd cant really have a more normal voting system (we count map offerings as a vote) cause it would skew the maps in favor of 1 side. Basically 1 side chooses realms while the other choses specific map would be the best implementation of this kinda system with an added "random" button for incase. Personally, we'd rather have random maps every time.

  • Tracking dart: Survivors can throw the dart at the killer to reveal the killer even through undetectable. If they miss it works like Peebles and makes a noise notification for everyone.

  • I believe they said something akin to "We threw a survivor into a wall and didnt injure them"

  • Personally we consider Blight to have a higher ceiling than Nurse, but nurse has a higher floor thats near blights ceiling. As some above said, blight you can learn incrementally and has more details while nurse its learn how to play nurse and your pretty good for most matches.

No one has ever expected a free rescue, nor is that being asked for.

Sure seems like a lot of killers think they should be gifted a free kill simply for hooking one survivor, though, with all the people defending healthy hook grabs.

The people defending healthy hook grabs staying in the game are just telling on themselves. "if healthy hook grabs go away how can I cheese a loss into a win with no skill involved?"

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3235233#Comment_3235233

    Play both sides.

That's kinda what is being asked though. If a healthy survivor can't be grabbed, there's alot less risk for a healthy survivor to just immediately dive the hook. The killer is at best forced to trade.

As for the ones saying "if there's 4 survivors at the end it's on you", you realize your promoting tunneling yes?

  • @liquidlight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3233983#Comment_3233983

You're forgetting that they supposedly don't even count DCs AND a lot of killer mains, especially those that decimate their opponents, let the last survivor go in order to "be nice" and it's safe to assume some do so purposefully to lower their kill rates (mostly people who know they're wrecking survivors and don't want their killer nerfed). So, if the stats can't be trusted it' s because the killer is probably doing BETTER than what we're seeing. Definitely not worse.

As far as nurse goes, it's logical why she's lower than some other killers. The average person can't play her. Yeah, she's deadly in the right hands (a special few) but most people aren't going to waste their time trying to "get gud" when there are so many other enjoyable options. Nurse is basically unplayable on console anyway, so that excludes a ton of people right there.

In the end, stats do matter. They are undoubtedly higher than what we're being shown.

Personally haven't said they didn't matter, mostly just pointing out they don't mean as much as op thinks. Also Abit miffed they blatantly disregard losing games as simple bad, but that's on me.

As for your point your correct that stats don't factor in mercy(thought that was implied by various factors) but by that measure it also doesn't take in tunneling or camping. We simply don't know and therefore anything we say is speculation.

I'm gonna assume the nurse thing is for others cause I don't remember taking about her

  • First BHVR said they wanted to increase kill rate and shake the meta, which happened so buffs did their job and are staying (hopefully)

Second, the stats can be affected by ALOT of variables, such as map, swfs(swats and casuals), add ons and so on.

Third, saying people can't read stats, when they clearly can, undermines alot of credibility for you mate

Honestly we just wanted in on the madness 😶

When did I even mention solo q in this post? You're just putting words in peoples mouth. All these changes are needed for both SWF and solo, not just one.

Not your post, someone elses. And since your gone and goin "putting words in peoples mouth" no, these changes are NOT needed for either. Who has said that these changes (not something similar, these EXACT ONES) were needed by anyone but you? These are changes you THINK are needed, or that YOU need. I can play against spirits, blights with or without ring, and nurses as is. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but people CAN and HAVE won. If you WANT me to do an in-depth explanation for each point, ask. I'll cut it apart with glee.
