We like him, but hate how survivors just run for the edge as soon as they think they see us. We're a terror on lery's but any super open map we might as well be trapper.
-
Every post bout the knight we've bothered to look at has a hag profile pic and a name with S. We thought it was you each time X}
-
... not to be too rude but how many knight posts have you made within the last 2 weeks?
To answer you BHVR wanted to do something complex and cool without it being overpowering. They therefore added alot of handicaps. Still, could've been worse.

She honestly needs a top down, complete rework. She just doesn't work in DbD, as she essentially unplays the game.
The problem is that her gross kill rates are extremely low, which makes the devs unwilling to change her.
I actually enjoy playing against Nurse on most maps, but I still don't think she's good for the game as is.

Nurse main spotted. XD
No, but seriously, this thread was actually pretty constructive, from a generally constructive poster. Why the needless hostility?

We have relatively fast killer que times though we usually play night time usa when alot of swfs play too.(from casuals to swats)
Killers vary from each other but really for us matches are more determined by the map than anything. Balanced killer means jack all on unbalanced maps. (Sorry for going Abit off topic)
We don't face anymore DC's than normal (though it's a depressing amount. We aren't even that good with twins compared to other killers)
-
Currently there is no true comeback mechanic though snowballing is predominant for both sides depending on so many factors (not necessarily a bad thing).
Something like a comeback mechanic could be nice. Like if certain gens keep repeatedly kicked then work speed on those specific ones repair faster up to the point where it was. This would help the recent problem of only trying to hold a 3 gen and nothing else. And for killers if they haven't gotten a hit within a certain amount of effort (time or hooks or whatever) then they get a instant down on next hit.
We're just spit balling ideas but some kinda "help" mechanic could be nice for each side (though we worry it would be abused or become a crutch for players)
-
There's a nice balancing act between healing too much and not healing enough that it becomes detrimental. Each mach will be different.
-
If we're understanding correctly, he hit you once while you had endurance up and you went down. If this is the case it's either a bug or cheat.
If not then you're going to need to clarify.
-
As long as it helps you enjoy the game (and not gone our of the way to ruin someone else's) it's good to have. This is a game and ment to be fun after all.
-
Not to long ago since we been playing other games but we also had the bonus of the Halloween rift and the winter one.
-
Would be nice to have something more impactful throughout the match for that amount of effort. They do have to be careful though as it's very easy to rack up stacks against newer players.

We aren't entirely clear on the point your trying to make. Is this just a really long way to say mmr sucks?
-
The logic answer is in the mass of code that makes the game.
The normal (and admittedly becoming pretty fair) answer is BHVR.

Also The Ghost Face, Danny Johnson, is heavily based on the real serial killer Danny Rolling. Danny Rolling inspired the Scream Movies too but none of the characters were really that similar to Danny Rolling but Danny Johnson definitely is. A youtuber called MrBallen has a video about Danny Rolling and there are many similarities between the character and the real serial killer. It's pretty disturbing and it almost feels like they honoured him with the creation of Danny Johnson because of how similar it is. (Both stalked their victims and had sudden urges to kill, Johnson killed in Roseville and Rolling killed in Gainesville, after Rolling killed people he moved away from Gainesville and Johnson was about to do the same thing but thats when the entity took him)
Also these real murders took place in 1990, which means the family members of the victims are probably still alive today, and i think that is bad that this character was made so soon.
Personally i don't think characters should be inspired this closely to real life serial killers. I get they need inspiration but they need to be careful not to honour them.
Killing is not cool it's just tragic at the end of the day.
Didn't know that bout ghostie. Go figure.
Agree that they shouldn't be honored which is why we stressed (or failed to) loosely. Doc is so far away from the human that it's effectively a trivia tibbit. BHVR didn't have a say for bubba (but is pretty far away from the human inspiration) and made their own ghostie with the official mask (not sure how this one stacks up).

Is it fair to say that even if it's from a thousand/hundreds of years ago, you still do not want a real serial killer being in DBD? So no Vlad the Impaler? But you would be fine with someone loosely based off of him being in the game?
That would be accurate. We want to keep alot of reality out of games (especially one involving hooking people violently like holiday decor, people can get WEIRD) but that's personal bias.
-
To be fair BHVR has loosely done this with doc (bubba too but that's not BHVR).
As long as they do it extremely loosely like they did with doc and make it fun to play, we're ok going this route (minefield as it may be) We don't want an obvious rip off though.
-
We're fine with dh atm (sans the suspiciously always perfect ones). Its still a third health state but it's at least earned.
As an aside, why choose to bait it if you see what's about to happen? Just smack em, they dh, and now they're either with dw at a pallet, dw and booking it, dw booking it with a pallet down, or down bleeding.

Survivor loadout displays sounds like a pretty good idea; one more step towards unifying solo Q and SWF.
SWF option is never going to happen; they would make casual/ranked matchmaking before that, and that is also probably never going to happen.
More objectives would be nice, though. Events tend to do a good job of that, like I thought the rift energy voids were a lot of fun.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3292272#Comment_3292272
Definitely not going to happen. Removing all map offerings is more likely, but considering Sacrificial Ward exists, that's almost definitely not going to happen either.
Besides, removing map offerings will make it a lot more annoying to get achievements like, say, the one where you have to open the exit gate and escape 20 times on RPD.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3292843#Comment_3292843
The real answer is in fact balancing the maps properly. If the maps are balanced then why would you remove offerings? They would also by nature be balanced as a result.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3292711#Comment_3292711
Uh, yeah, you just buff Solo Q to be on par with SWF and you buff killer to be on par with SWF and then everything is good. I don't know why you wrote so much about a topic with such a simple answer.
As for your last idea, we'd rather them rebalance maps than remove the offerings. (And maybe make sacrificial ward override everything)
We realized we missed a word
-
Survivors being able to see each others perks and item add-ons would defiantly be nice even with the dcs that would follow.
Giving people the option to play with/against swfs however probably would lead to extreme que times for them which would alienate a good chunk of the players who want to play with friends.
We would love side objectives as long as their optional and give some in-trial reward other than bloodpoints. That being said, the devs need to balance alota things before adding them.
As for your last idea, we'd them rebalance maps than remove the offerings. (And maybe make sacrificial ward override everything)

Artist, Wesker, Myers
Artist: We like being able to shoot through walls and long shots are always satisfying
Wesker: Its cathartic to smash survivors into things
Myers: Jump scare myers is just fun for us. We have even started to get dcs cause of grabs~

You can look at how killers behave round to round and people say things like : why did the killer tunnel at 5 generators?
The answer is likely because of how their previous game went. Or maybe they tunnel at 5 gens because they are on Garden of Joy/Eyrie of Crows.
Playing killer is more difficult, more stressful and less fun overall. If this were not true then we would have way more people playing killer all the time.
Yes...killers couldn't have possibly tunneled at 5 gens just because they wanted to...there must be a reason other than they wanted to just because.
We're abit sorry for being a sarcastic [beep] but since we've personally been tunneled and camped just for our user name, we're firmly in the "they do what they want" camp. Even if their previous game went bad, the killer CHOOSES to do these things. We are aware that killer is the harder role (as for stressful and less fun, thats opinion based as we find it less stressful and more fun aside from the occasional swat squad or competent bully squad) but the killer decides how they play.

It isn't just killers. Both sides have absurdly broken things they can do to make the other side miserable.
I view players who play in a 4-stack with comms, brand new parts and map offerings the exact same as Nurse players with purple range, starstruck, midwitch. They know what they are doing is imbalanced. They know it isn't a fair matchup. I don't think they care.
That being said, the devs bear the brunt of the responsibility. Those things shouldn't provide such an extreme advantage. The devs should be much better at fixing those sorts of things.
It reminds me of the old moris/keys. Both were absurdly broken and took way to long to fix. The devs don't seem to be very good at realizing how miserable one side can make the other side.

Post 4k slaughter by a Blight I noticed they were a streamer so I went into their channel for a chat. In short they acknowledged:
- Winning 95% of their matches
- That matchmaking is broken
- That Blight is broken (though they said it was only certain addons which I disagree with since, as they said, they win 95% of the time with or without those addons)
They said they play Blight because they have fun playing Blight, not because he’s broken or wins all the time.
So… they do something they know is unsportsmanlike and unfair just because they are allowed to and THEY have fun. Regardless of all the people they make NOT have fun because the killer and game are clearly broken. This is a pretty common argument amongst killers in this game. But here’s what this is also saying - they have no moral compass of their own to stop them from doing something wrong. The system they are playing in says it’s ok so they will go along with that since it allows them to do what they enjoy.
Does anyone not see what’s wrong here? Not see the obvious philosophical issue? People who allow themselves to go along with corrupt / broken systems are not free from responsibility. Especially when you’re not forced to go along with it. If you continue to play broken killers and don’t take steps to just play a fair game, you’re the problem. You can’t just blame the game and the unfair system. You have the freedom to make the game more fair by not playing the strongest killers and builds in the game and using the cheapest, easiest tactics. This is why survivors get angry at this game and killers. This is why the DCs and quits. It’s not just saltiness. It’s a complete lack of fairness and an abrogation of responsibility of both killers and BHVR. We want to play fair games, that’s all.
As often as we disagree with him, omans is probably the most accurate here. Both sides have stupid tools at their disposal yet it takes a long time to fix anything which lies with the devs. Survivors raging at killers for using these broken things has a mirror in killers hating survivors for bringing their equivalent.

They tried that and survivors abused it so the dev's couldn't make it work.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3290818#Comment_3290818
You're missing the point. If there is a built in way that rewards chases more than tunneling then tunneling will sharply decline.
Rushing generators is what leads to tunneling in the first place; so if the deaths AND the generators all get slowed down then the game lasts longer and everyone gets to play more. Everyone gets to have a feeling they can win the game without outcome of the game swinging to one side very early.
In response to rushing gens leading to tunneling we got a question. Which came first the chicken or egg?
Back to the point at hand, it would need to be a extremely good carrot to get the sharp decline you want. Removing a survivor removes a good chunk of things killers have to worry about. Tunneling is the quickest way to this. Your suggestions just give killers specific patterns for tunneling and could make it easier. That extra time for deadlock give either camping or tunneling alot of time making it MORE attractive instead of hooking everyone for 8 percent each.
Maybe we're wrong but our faith that humans won't take an easy path is pretty reasonable.
-
When there's nothing better to do this is our go to so usually about 4ish hrs on average daily. Though if there's something else we could go weeks without playing.

Sure Crowman. Everyone believes you.
Welp, outa 5 games tonight, 2 survivors (not lobbies, SURVIVORS ) have wanted to play around (1 of which we intimidated into doing so). So yes, Crowman may have faced what they said.
-
Long as you know when its a good time to try and mark survivors (which factors in variables such as map, how aware survivors seem to be, how many escape routes they got) then marking can often be worth it. Not really as exciting or chaotic as random stealth stabs but it can be effective.
-
We like it. Snowmen for both sides and points for hi-fives (Litterally, you now get points for hi-fiving in snowmen. Whether or not its survivor and survivor, or killer and survivor. Thats hilarious.) Defiantly at least feels better than last years snowmen.
-
As much as we like this game, their PR is going down in flames...
-
We think your forgetting the human variable in all this. If they want to tunnel, they gonna tunnel.
Also point 1 would make it easier to tunnel or camp as rushing those gens is the best way to escape a tunnel vision killer or camping bubba before everything gets used.
Point 2 is a much better solution, but again, people do as they will.
Point 3 we feel would just give a target to tunnel
Point 4 we like but we don't think it solves anything.
5 is a no.

The RIGHT thing to do would be to get all the coding staff to fix things and push another hotfix asap, even if that means delaying the next chapter a bit. Also expanding the event, cause hell knows how bugged it'll be...
But the thing that gona HAPPEN is we're probably gona wait about a week give or take for things to be fixed then find MORE things broken DUE to the fix...
-
Our vote goes to Oni. Zanshin Tactics is nice but ultimately can be replaced with map knowledge. Nemesis is fun on Nemesis for kicks and giggles, but is only useful for switching obsessions. Blood echo has a decent effect but is constrained by to many requirements to get alot of value out of it.
Honorable mentions go to Wraith and Ghostie
-
We have an odd play style with trickster so take this with some caution.
Depending on add ons, don't be afraid to make silly shots. The bouncing blades work wonders as we can "skip" them on the floor, walls, roof, etc to make shots. The exploding blades we aim at survivors legs as if you miss you still get something. Adding the cut through you add on to either of these and we can build up laceration fast.
When you have clear shots hold down the button as after a certain number of blades you throw faster but if the recoil gets to you or need accurate shots just click one after another (it helps on controller at least)
We don't really use slowdowns on him but oppression is decent as he doesn't have much map mobility. Otherwise the usual slowdowns will probably do enough. That said, everyone above gave pretty good advice.
-
We just enjoy hunting people. Our various builds keep everyone on our toes and if we get tired we switch to survivor.

Sounds like another aspect prone to imbalance.
"Why is it that killers are rewarded for playing nice but survivors don't need to?!"
"Oh so survivor rule book is official now? Killers are supposed to throw games for points but survivors don't have to?"
Probably gonna need to elaborate on that, it's too early for us to think about it.
-
To sum it quick, its "the game" but 1 floor and outdoors. Lots of safe pallets and 1 - 3 good windows. After those its death.
-
While we would love to see this tested at the very least, the stain should stay as new blood gets added all the time and it helps them learn "hey your about to get hurt really really soon unless you do something fast". As much as we dislike hand-holding, there needs to be some for the new people.
-
From what we know of the zombies, any loud noise notification will attract them. The screams technically do NOT count as a loud noise (for some odd reason) and shouldn't attract them. Same with auras in that it wont grab the deadhead's attention.

The game is built around the aspect of humiliation. You can't achieve either sides goal without humiliating your opposition in some way, this grows a toxic bullying environment. They could change aspects of the game to make it less humiliating, or at least add incentives to reduce toxic behavior. Which it has been suggested before they could add bp bonuses for receiving consecutive thumbs up after matches.
We're gona disagree on this. The game is built around hunting, chasing, and evading. The humiliation only factors in from the players. We're not humiliated when hit with a pallet as if we need that pallet gone, we'll happily eat it. We arent humiliated when tunneled, camped, 1 shotted, hidden from whole game, etc. This is from each individual's perspective.
That aside though we do agree adding an incentive to be nicer would be a lovely treat.
-
Your gona need to define friendly....
If your talking about goofing off and being silly, then we need to see that all of the survivors want to goof off first. If they wana have abit of odd fun we're game every now and again. Just don't run object or be a d**k.

There is no war in Ba Sing Se.
Thing is, its the players and not the game (in this scenario atleast).
Theres no war because it's already lost. They just don't know when to admit defeat.

Well, since we personally dont want bhvr to break anything more over an animation, we think it should stay as is since theres alot more important problems atm.

Welcome to dbd, where everything is your fault no mater what. Killer nor survivor is safe from the ever pointing fingers of others. Least till they get cut off.
Side note, might wana blur the names on the second image, forums have something against it or somethin.
-
Welcome to the bloody side mate. As most people said the best way to control the adrenaline is to keep at it, though it won't ever truly go away. Find one you like and play in a way you enjoy. As long as your having a good time its all that matters and ignore the salty haters. (Though try not to go out of your way to ruin others fun, there's enough of that already)
Since bots came out, custom games can give you a "safe" way to see how everyone works and to build and practice your own style.
-
On the bright side, seems to only happen if we latch on while they're on a gen...
edit: customs are lovely with bots...turns out we're wrong. its just randomly latching onto a survivor.
-
That bout sums up our thoughts now the question is why would they want that.

That risk is the only reason there is counterplay for her... Because on one hand she needs to use the blink to catch up and on the other hand she may not blink accurately and even loose more distance that way... That's the reason line of sight blocking works against nurse. If she can just follow normally she can avoid many situations where the survivor could use it to his advantage.
So we are hearing you (or the other person) are advocating removing one of the counterplay elements?
