  • with how oppressive mobility killers + Gen regression are. You cannot blame survivors for being optimal to counter it.

It sucks, but they need to give survivors more reason to do other things aside from gens. Like chests etc, there is only what 3 on the map baseline.

That said lower tier killers need buffs, that's a given lol

  • I don't really find the getting rid of the infection an issue when I play as her as it still takes time, plus I've started using debuffs on the mushrooms to help me.

It'd be different if it was like a vaccine/fountain/First aid spray situation

  • I played against one earlier today and I didn't really have an issue against it, I like facing weskers who use hug tech. It's fun watching them go for risky plays.

  • I want to agree coz I really want Claire revoiced, she sounds so bad

I think they did a great job with the ST voices

You are not supposed to be able to react to his vine attack, you are supposed to predict it and dodge early enough. If you could just react to the vine attack by dodging only once the vine attack is visually shown, it would be absolutely useless against good survivors that can react quick enough, and nobody would want to play Vecna in that case.

Pretty sure if the delay was 0.25 seconds longer the ability would become way too dodgeable and playing as Vecna would become insanely frustrating.

I also have serious doubts that DBD will lose half of its playerbase over Vecna. In fact I have seen quite a few people say that they enjoy going against Vecna.

there is no prediction with full aura reading builds:

I tried him out and it's utterly broken

one person who plays the game for a job going on a streak is not representative of the general playerbase. the only S tier killers recently were Ghoul who got nerfed and will be again soon, and Krasue who was nerfed even quicker to a more balanced state; both retain the fun that comes with them too and Kaneki surely will when he gets put in a more healthy spot.

Unknown on the other hand is easily countered unless they are, as you used in your example, someone who plays the game more than most players will. Mobility can be removed, Weakened can be removed in chase quicker than Krasue's Leech when outside of chase. Even take the RE killers, both need you to stand still to remove the infection and give killer instinct. Counters should work in that way, or like Freddy's alarm clocks.

This exactly, I'm not a pro killer player and I feel with recent killer designs it's only fair to give them a little more help.

UVX is so unforgiving to use, it makes it really hard to learn and more often than not frustrating. The amount of time wasted going for m2 hits coz you have to keep reapplying it is so annoying.

  • Sadly that's just how Licensed killers work and tbf they are really generous when it comes to unlicensed killers with the shards system.

Maybe if there was an unlicensed variant of the killer but there isn't so.

He needs a bigger cooldown on the vine attack. Right now he's just a zoning monster who can spam his power with no drawback to missing them.

Yeah I really like the mindgames against him but, even as an unknown player I look at his toolkit and I'm like this is overkill lol

  • Add a CD to his attacks please, why the heck does he get to just ignore windows and pallets existance.

Stop making killers who ignore the entire games mechanics. I love the mindgame part of his kit but it's too spammy and boring.

Like also why on earth do you release a trap perk with this chapter and its worthless vs the new killer as per usual.

When he's vaulting you need to go away a little and once his feet on the ground you can do it.

Thank you, I'm excited to give it a go

When do you time it? I've been wanting to learn it myself so I can play against them better

He's B at best. Completely outplayed by holding W. Is he fun to go against? No, so is not Nemesis, Alien or any other killer who has antiloop power with no cooldown.

    He is not B lol

If BHVR decides to update Dustin's height, Jill, Ada, & Robin also need their heights updated.

They just need to start making more unique animations for characters in general like other games do.

Ada also wants her heels back

  • I feel people getting mad at distortion was unjustified coz it was just the clearly oppressed mobility killers who are so hard done to.

    It was a necessary evil

  • Hopefully this gets fixed, coz it happens when against Wesker too.

  • I'd love for him to recieve some love and Claire to be cleaned up like Sheva is (Claire shouldn't have so much dirt on her) her hand is broken too currently also, point as her in game and You'll see her hand collapses.

I really hope the older legendaries/characters get the cleaner look the more recent characters got. I love Claire and Chris as characters so much, they have a lot of memories for me. I hope behaviour show them more love in future.

Also the quality difference between Chris and Wesker shouldn't be this large, we really need to put more love and effort into survivors, especially in the animations department. (Chris could come out of head on punching, Jill kicking, Silent hill characters with a pipe). Their pick up noises could be their games iconic noises etc for items. Like Lara going "aha…" when she finds an item

There is so much they could do.

  • I feel like if we downsized to more meaningful addons and then went from there, it would help a lot for sure. This applies to survivor also.

like why do we have multiple addons that do the same thing, just of different quality.

Also Myers is a recent example why do we need an Iri addon to play classic myers? Why not just a brown.

    • The most controversial aspect of Vecna is its mindless spam ability. So, it's not that Unknown should be a bit like Vecna, but Vecna should be a bit like Unknown. (My opinion)

even if Unknown had 1.5 seconds of CD, they'd still have a second of charge time, I just want to see the killer more as I they are one of my favourite unlicensed designs.

I want to stress I don't want them to be frustrating to play against, I just also don't want them to be frustrating to play as either.

My point is not to come on here and vent, my point is not to come on the forums and say "Survivor mains stinky boohoo" - that is not what I'm getting at at all, and I think many are completely missing the point of what I'm saying.

My point is to point that there is a major exploitation nestled within the DC, Abandon, and Anti-Go-Next system that allows the Survivor role to grief the game with no consequences.

I am trying to say that what random1543 said should happen, is what should be happening - DC penalties should be applied to scenarios like this - but it's not.

random said they've tested the system, but so have I, and it simply does not work. It is so incredibly EASY to circumvent the entire go-next system by pretending to chase poorly, vaulting poorly, or throwing bad pallets, and still letting yourself get downed.

It simply does not work. I don't know if it's even turned on, to be honest. I've tried to trigger it out of curiosity and it literally does nothing. I get to kill myself on purpose and the game does not care.

The new DC penalties only take into account your last 20 games. Most players will eat just one DC penalty and keep that into their 20-game rotation to keep it at a 1-minute minimum because it's so easy to erase these penalties if you only do it once a day. But, in the Killer role, if you're playing even 5 matches a day, you are likely to see at least one DC within all of these matches, because that's 20 chances for your 4 opponents to have a "Free DC" stocked up within their 20-day limit.

The chances that within any individual match, the Survivors still have the "free 1 minute DC" in stock is still pretty high, too. A one-minute, often even 5-minute DC is not a deterrent for players who are determined to grief and DC, because that's almost no time at all. That's a chance for a bathroom break.

I don't want to play like this, I'm not trying to "punish" anyone as people have accused. I'm attempting to ignore the griefers to deny rewarding this behavior.

I attempt to ignore griefers because getting them out of the game rewards the griefing - I'm just trying to play with the other players who are actually trying to play the game. The griefers will insert themselves into my chases, though, and force me to down them. So if I kill them, they get to go next (since the anti go-next system does not work), and they skip the griefing matchmaking penalty. If I try to ignore them, they will force me to slug them, and they get to leave thanks to the abandon scenario, and they get to skip the DC matchmaking penalty.

No matter what happens, the end result is the Survivor role is allowed to grief the game and then leave with no consequences at an insanely high and forgiving rate. In any scenario they are able to completely grief the game for everyone AND skip the DC penalty in the process, then go off and do it again in their very next match, and this needs addressing.

The Anti-Go-Next feature needs to be more robust than what was originally put out, as the on-release version system was definitely way too sensitive. But no/weak Anti-Go-Next is making the game impossible to play as Killer.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4047543#Comment_4047543

I also find myself being affected by this abandon scenario in instances where gameplay is simply normal. Especially by aggressive teams who are intentionally downing themselves for aggressive rescue plays, or when I am playing a Killer where it can be difficult to get a quick pickup like Knight or Twins.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4047552#Comment_4047552

Again, I'm not attempting to "punish" players, I'm trying to ignore them.

The solution isn't on the designers to create a Killer that everyone enjoys and anyone that doesn't fit the category is allowed to disconnect for free because that task is literally impossible with a character roster this large. (And if you try to replicate the lightning in a bottle success, you end up in the so-dubbed "Dashslop" era where everyone plays the same)

I often like to say that DBD killers are like Pokemon - every single Killer, and literally every, is both someone's favorite, and also someone's least favorite.

Even the Killer that one might say everyone loves or hates - yes even that one - someone out there has the opposite opinion. And nobody is right or wrong for their own opinion!

No matter what the Killer is, someone will love them, and someone else will hate them. Everyone has different preferences for gameplay and playstyles, and every Killer fits a different niche in that. Every Killer is hated by any person, which is all the more reason to put a curb to the DC/Go-Next/Abandon system exploitations that allows the Survivor role to completely grief against any Killer that they personally dislike, with no consequences, over and over again.

Okay I'm gonna stop you there though and say you posted this in suggestions and feedback. So it gives an entirely different context to what you're stating here so at least be aware of that, also I ain't reading all of that.

Unknown definitely feels like the biggest looser this patch because of that. Vecna can spam his power and reliably get injures at a fast pace. In the right circumstances he actually has some really good snowball potential. Unknown doesn't have that, not at the average level since the skill ceiling for Unknown too high for too little of a pay off. He definitely needs some significant changes to his kit, but a faster recharge rate would just make him a spam happy killer.

He doesn't need a super fast spam, more just like a second or so off the CD to make it a little more forgiving

  • Controller gets messed over by this a lot I feel, it's why I never play killer on my steam deck or the like, but also I'm not the best killer player so there's that

Well the argument I was trying to debate was he's like pre nerf Krause just able to slide off walls and get hits but I geuss I can also say he's just like chucky now

You gotta remember this means he'll easily go through windows also if he messes up

  • I like the voicelines and I kind of wish they had the walking dead's healing each other working together voice lines, it's a nice touch.

  • I want to say I agree but alot of the voices sound like its the same person talking to themselves in the lobby? Like they are good voices its just I can't help but feel its the same person doing all of them for Eleven/Nancy/Robin

Steve and the others sound similliar too

  • I think it's okay to discuss the power and how it interacts, we should be encouraging this sort of discussion not discouraging.

Nurse's bug is the most frustrating one. Survivors won't even know the rubber-banding happened, they will think you just missed the blink. If they are unable to fix it, they should at least add some kind of notification for this, so that the survivors know you missed because of the bug and not because you are just bad.

Why would I want to know the game messed you over lol if they are gonna put that dev time in, just fix the bug, y'know?

  • bruh aint no way an ai clip has better walking animations that what we have in game, ew

  • Honestly, it's the mobility now of being able to just return to the hook but that's not a problem exclusive to him. I'm yet to play much against him a lot coz of it being a new killer release but I'm really hopeful this is enough to make me enjoy playing against them.

  • We just need better survivor animations/rigs across the board, so many animations break characters models

  • @SoGo said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4049712#Comment_4049712

Not if you buff the boons across the board as compensation.

They will still not be enticing enough to take, the killer basically has no time commitment or risk to get rid of it like survivors do.

They'd just walk past it notice it and its gone instantly, and that could be done every game.

maybe turn it into a hex instead, you could add a function that it forms a hex for every boon you turn off, then you could pair it with pentimento if the hex that spawned gets cleansed. So its basically a perk that adds a huge risk to boon builds, so long as there is a boon you get a hex in return.

  • Honestly these ghoul changes if they work are all I could ask for, here is hoping it takes away the frustrating part of playing against them.

Shattered Hope needs to either be basekit, or not exist at all.

That would make boons pretty much worthless though, at least make it a time commitment for the killer.

  • I don't think the voices are bad, but i get why people are sad they don't have them anymore. People loved to meme with them

I'd understand if BHVR wanted this chapter to be more serious, but the bad animations and jank should probably be targetted first lol since it affects all survivors

  • It's how fast the ranged circle comes out in world breaker (or its an addon idk which) if I had to complain about anything, which is the issue, everything else is fine

  • I'd be all for it, I love the portals in the D and D map, I also like the pipe idea in the Nostromo.

There is also the doors that open in the game which are cool and the inner area of Plagues Temple.

I want more stuff like that it's really cool

Thank you, I'll see if I can maybe re-post the original author's bug report there. It's incredibly sad to see a killer, who has been in the game for this long, be in such a state. Many such cases.

Hey, off-topic, but enjoy Vecna! One more minute!!

Of course! Happy to help, it's fairly new they talked about it on their December community stream before they broke up for the holidays, it sounds like they are really excited to use it as it's easier to post information they said.

I never got the point of the anti hiding update. Isn‘t the game still labeled as an hide and seek. The first anti tunnel update was good except of those punishments. It just needed a few tweaks.

Hiding was one of the only ways to counter some of the higher tier killers too lol

Comp really. There's a reason that the rules for comp have massive restrictions for survivors outside of like 3 killers.

Right see, that makes more sense if we are talking about the comp scene and how it measures what is top tier. I will admit I don't know the largest deal about their rules however.

Also regarding your second post I am generalising about seeing it often recently, not necessarily in context to just this. I've never understood the top MMR arguement, coz it's like well what makes top MMR, we'll never know. It's probably more accurate to use the averages at that point.

  • I love the roadmaps for having stuff to look forward to, it's a nice way of communicating what's to come

  • Yeah I love the edits people have done to help it look like her but at the same time I don't think the old face looks anything like her either for what it's worth

Your arbitrary "only 5 killers" is not correct. There are way more than 5 killers who can contend at top MMR. Nurse, blight, spirit, oni, huntress, ghoul, singularity, wesker, krasue, dracula; just to name a few.

Your first statement really means nothing because it's too generic, but also not untrue. Bad nurse and blight players deflate their overall killer stats; but everyone knows nurse and blight are broken. So I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here.

When did I ask for the balance to be around average survivors? Also, your strawman doesn't work because there is a major difference between survivors and killers. Every survivor is the same, just a different character model. Every killer though has a different power and needs to be balanced according. The average trapper and the average ghoul come from two different MMR brackets. That's why it's not as simple as your "gotcha" is making it out to be.

I also don't understand why people always try and argue using "top MMR" as a statement, when they have no way to know if they are Top MMR in the first place.

The matchmaking feels like the wild west at times.

  • I actually like this map a lot lol, coz its got a unique mechanic.

I wish more maps had hazards and quirks honestly

  • @Balrog said:

Survivor can stress me out sometimes because I jumpscare very easily (even other Survivors can jumpscare me!). However, Killer time is so relaxing. Although occasionally on two floor maps a Survivor will fall from the ceiling and jumpscare me there, too.

The Nightmare and Houndmaster and The Dredge, and The Onryo are by far the most relaxing killers for me.

It's so funny you say that coz I screamed the other day in chaos shuffle when my gen blew up and then screamed again when one of the other survivors came around the corner.

The new Myers being able to change stealth at will has been so fun (the part I like about the rework) coz the amount of times he has scared me has been a lot.

  • Ghoul/Blight/Nurse make me try way harder than I ever should in a casual horror multiplayer game. Mistakes are way too punishing against them, as their momentum from a single down with the gen lock/gen regression meta is insane and their is nothing in place to stop tunneling. There is no breathing room between chases coz of the insane mobility they have.

What's more stressful is the devs won't do nothing to remedy this issue, so survivors are forced to play "Gen rush" and to leave each other to die just to get out, it's boring.

I don't mind losing at all, I just want to have more time to interact with the killer, save others, find items, not just hammer gens.

I just want to enjoy the game casually lol
