I don't mind the damage and dirt on outfits. OR as an alternative, outfits/skin textures could start the match mostly clean but as survivors take damage throughout the match, they should progressively get damaged/dirty/bloody. Oddly enough, BHVR tested this in a PTB years ago and then did nothing with it and never spoke of it again…

Cheryl could use a model update though. She, like Nancy, looked nothing like the source material.

See I like that idea, if we gained damage in game etc that's fine. I'm just against characters I know and love looking like swamp dweller temu versions of themselves.

Especially when they've proven with more recent outfits and cosmetics they don't need to be that way (Police Rick and Michonne, their xmas sweaters etc)

Otherwise a little wear and tear here and there is fine, just not the WHOLE cosmetic.

  • I really feel she needs an update in general, she is the only old survivor who hasn't had a visual update yet.

Cybil and the other Legendaries could really use it too

Also please remove all the unnecessary damage and dirt on the outfits, it looks so ugly and it feels disrespectful to the characters lol

  • They aren't meta by any means, honestly they should be the standard of how perks should work on Survivor.

Just as killer perks should be strong and useful too.

Let's not nerf perks for no reason lol

  • Cleaner survivor cosmetics like the new Nancy (forget about how accurate she looks its not about that) they removed the dirt off her hands and neck and it looks much better, do this for all my favourite characters, its much more enticing to get nice looking cosmetics, not ones covered in dirt. Leave that to in game effects.

    Item skins

    Emotes

    Updated Silent Hill Cosmetics

    A functioning avoid player list

    Nerfing the S-tiers finally

2v8 for custom lobbies/event modes (it would be fun if it also awarded bps to play custom games coz I'd love to enjoy DBD as a party game with my friends)

  • Nerfing HF because of cheaters, they'll just find a new way to cheat?

That's like saying they are using toolboxes infinitely so nerf toolboxes, how can you prove it?

The issue is EAC, they need better anti-cheat, not perk nerfs.

It always does make me wonder what type of killer these types of players want to go against.

    • They complain about the macro gameplay map control killers like skull merchant and knight and sadako (who then gets nerfed and reworked 10 times).
    • They complain about anti-loop killers and ask BHVR to stop making those.
    • They complain about the anti-shift+w killers like ghoul and blight and complain about those.
    • They complain about stealth and hit and run style killers like wraith.

Like legit, at this point what type of killer do you want to play against? Because at this point it seems like you don't want to play against any of them.

I think it's less "these types of players" and more you are taking complaints from multiple players and treating like its near enough everyone who has a problem with the killer.

Most people I know and play with only really truly hate Ghoul/Blight when it comes to playing. Nurse too but you barely see her rn.

I do see people making the complaints you talk about, but its hardly the same type of players, most core survivor players agree Ghoul is the worst thing they've added in a long while.

  • Honestly an exhaustion perk for a small nudge would have been so fun, trying to hole killers or knocking them off a ledge.

It'd basically been an alternative to head on and I'd have loved that, coz I like buying time in my chases by confronting the killer.

    I'm a survivor, not a victim.

  • I mean, it depends if he is boring to play, if he is fun to play that's all I need.

I'm not needing the strongest killer in the game to have fun, I just want something that matches the fantasy of the character.

That's why I hate the S-Tiers, because it attracts a specific kind of person, they want to win above all else.

  • the only time I've gotten use out of keys is for my streetwise/Ace build with the mistletoes when everyone was bringing them and it spawned more chests. We need more chests for item builds to be remotely viable.

I'm not running 4 chest/item perks to make a item build worth my time.

  • Hopefully the devs stop being ignorant on the matter and fix it soon, I can't tell you how many of my friends the killer has scared away from the game.

You need to deal with the s-tiers if you want a casual survivor player base.

I don´t see your point here.

Yeah Survivors get hindered… so they take a perk that makes them scream?

By their choice in trade for an aura read, yes, and the screams in this game are funny.

If you can't see the point then it's whatever.

  • @Leon_van_Straken said:

Yeah and typcally survivors are annoyed by constant screaming…

Thats the reason Ultimate Weapon got changed if I remember right.

So… I wouldn´t say it is fun for everyone.

the difference is survivors actions are hindered by screaming, the killers aren't

  • Deal with it, killers also can make survivors scream uncontrollably with Doctor/scream perks. Survivors having access to it isn't a bad thing.

DBD needs more fun, not less of it.

  • @Royval said:

what does Kaneki get in return for these nerfs?

Literally nothing, he is the reason I don't play anywhere near as much anymore

  • it's so rare I see second chance meta anymore, I think people want the freedom to run what they like and not having to be forced into a particular build to play the game.

Much like how gen regression users feel the same way about those.

  • The only positive is I dont need to deal with Haddonfield anymore, but I'll miss the aesthetic.

I hope we get it back one day, I guess that final rework has some context that no one asked for.

  • I'd play male survivors more but their shoulders feel like lego men arms, like a box with two sticks loosely attatched to it.

That and male survivor fingers cross in uncomfortable looking ways when healing others sometimes.

Honestly survivor rigs/animations need an update across the board, especially since its universally used, the game could really benefit from some visual refinement again in that department.

  • @Zuiphrode said:

I don't think Nurse players are the ones having problems learning how to play good here.

That is some severe lack of awareness.

  • Did we get the sweaters and weapons in previous years (not last year)?

I know we got the snowman dredge, I'm just trying to think if thats why

  • I'd love for it to be gainable more than once a trial, it takes so long to build up that a standard trial you'd get 2 tops anyways if you use it right away, some trials you don't even get it coz stealth killers.

Also sometimes it gets consumed but does nothing, they could also give it more of a visual and audio feedback that its actually stunned, it makes no noise on contact so sometimes you dont even notice until the killer moans.

  • I want the killer to grunt too when hit by them haha

  • Honestly I save my free DC's for Ghouls rn, I just don't enjoy playing against him fair or not.

The screaming, the jank, the lack of interaction. I'd just rather not.

Literally the worst addition to this game for me ever and I don't say that lightly.

  • This sort of information we need more of in this game, bridging the gap between SWF and solo Q would go such a long way

Ironic, since some of you all are saying that NA Survivors must simply be bad because they escape less.

Self-Care is an inefficient perk. If a player is using it, and managing to get value from it, the Killer is not playing the game in an efficient manner. Taking nearly a full minute to heal should be time enough for the Killer to simply win. Instead, we see the opposite on the Asian servers.

Ergo, their Killers are inefficient and not up to standards. The Survivors could very well be better, but their Killers certainly seem to be worse, on average.

As an aside, theres not much difference in escape rates either. 6% at most, that's not a lot.

I feel there is truth that its situational, times you can't contest a gen/find another survivor coz you are at risk of running into the killer, self-care to get a heal started can be really useful. In those situations it can be efficient, but at the same time so is a medkit and might as well combo self-care with botany as you can heal others faster too.

Though lets be real, no one is using it like that with macro gameplay in mind lol. Also some killers healing is just a waste of time anyways, so I wonder why those never get played over there if its such a huge issue.

Sometimes it feels like no one is adapting.

  • Yeah Ghoul was the biggest mistake this game has ever seen in my opinion, I really hope they listen eventually. I'm so tired of them.

I hope the designer of them realises where they messed up also.

  • Blight/Ghoul/Nurse being brought down to Wesker's level, but I don't play as often coz I'm just tired of them lol

I can't comment on Krasue as I've not seen her for a while

    Lich's buffs reverted

I'm just tired of queueing up against the same boring killers.

  • I've been running deception a lot recently and its saved me from said lockers from a few times amusingly LOL

I hate them too I've died so many times to them

  • Yeah I agree with a lot of which you say, I advocate about point 4 a lot myself.

the casual survivor playerbase doesn't really exist much anymore, my friends would rather play other games, I consider myself more of a passionate fan of this game, my friends who mainly joined this game for whatever IP was relevant to them has been turned away by how awful its playerbase is treat.

They were all really hopeful over the anti tunnel and slug, and bhvr crushed that so… :))) IDC if it was the "Right" or "wrong" thing to do, recent choices have been awful in the eyes of the casual survivor playerbase and also lack of choices too.

  • @Classic_Rando said:

What killers are OP and how are they OP? I agree that a few of the top-tier ones are very frustrating to go against, but most of the killer roster is beatable if you know how to play against them.

Ghoul, Blight, Nurse to name some? Why? Unreasonable mobility, which mostly has nothing to do with chase… then the anti loop and chase potential where they ignore half the game comes into play and it's even more obnoxious.

It doesn't take much too see why some killers are broken, arguable Vecna is also to be on that list as his official kill rate is really high since his buffs.

  • Yeah I'd love to be able to pick the server region, would be nice when I want to join other servers peak times etc.

That said though, the netcode just doesn't handle lag very well compared to other games

Honey, I'm sorry for ruining your dreams, but no matter what everyone in high tiers will run the most unfun things they can. That's why my 95 % of games are Nurses, Ghouls, Billies and Blight with Corrupt, Pain Res, DMS, Surge, Eruption, Pop, Lethal etc. And those 5 % of other killers are usually the same perks and the players play the same way. Every time I try to run anything fun on either side, it will end up with me throwing, because those perks can't compete the other side meta. I don't blame killers to hard tunnel, camp or slug because in the end it's a way to win which is goal in competitive game like dbd. Same way I don't blame survivors for genrush because more than half of the killer roaster is so boring to play against as there is nothing else fun or interactive to do (fe. if you hold W against Knight's bots to get free hit anyway but not double tapped or when you go against Ghoul who requires zero skill to down someone etc.)

I'm not saying what must happen I'm just discussing it, so don't worry you don't need to apologise.

I'm just thinking we could maybe do more for the event queues to make it more accessible and less try-hardy basically.

I feel if there was more in place more casual players would come play honestly, much like the reason people come to play 2v8.

  • I just want more classes for survivor. In a mode with 8 players and we only have 4 choices is just zzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • I've went back to running head on and deception with the lack of pallets, I will become the pallet myself LOL

  • @Elan said:

Why would people who main s tier killer unable to play them?

Basically they aren't turned off for the whole game, people who run powerful things are usually the ones going for the win, making it miserable for those memeing in the event using the powers etc.

They'd still be playable in the normal queue while the event is up, it's just kind of making the game less extreme in the event mode, iri addons and s-tiers are usually only fun for the one playing them on both sides.

  • Honestly the extra queue has been useful in people experiencing and giving feedback about it I imagine.

Like the people posting the pallet spawns and about how bright it is. Also I noticed the games really vibrant in general on some maps this patch, the lockers are like a neon orange etc on some maps, Sheva's top looks so much brighter in a saturated way now also. My gamma is on the default and I havn't had these issues since this patch.

  • Honestly tho some of the filler when the spawns are right with the new tiles feel good to interact with on both sides, that said a lot of the time the spawns are awful lol, I can see what they were trying to go for but I feel more intentional consistency would go a long way in map design and make it easier to balance.

  • @tes said:

Some maps are completely lacking of constructions. Some of them build in a way only to be on edges, some inly in middle. And fillers still should be playable, it just should be less of them but with better quality.

I think less people complained on current maps if there were more consistency

Yeah I agree with this specifically, I honestly want more consistency with the maps these days. That's why I like RPD/Gideons/Dead Dawgs etc

2v8 was different, since each killer has to be individually adapted to the new gameplay loop. The issue is Legion scaled incredibly well with the different mechanics. Even then I wasn't really happy with how they handled it.

Events don't change the gameplay loop inherently, they only add stuff on. It's just 1v4 with extra stuff.

Well I mean they enable the current hot debate of tunneling and slugging which this patch was meant to help with. Not to mention the map changes.

I don't really think it's that different, if you want to play standard DBD the standard queue is there, for a more casual and accessible event like 2v8 is, I feel limitations would go a long way and before you say Nurse and Blight are in 2v8, so is activateable sprint burst so there was broken mobility on both sides there.

in 1v4 we now have the syringes, which are just as problematic as the S-Tiers, to make things feel fairer they could easily be limited to help more casual players enjoy the event that's tailored to them, without dealing with those that make playing this game miserable.

  • @CrypticGirl said:

Idk, I think Killers' strength is subjective. Yes, some are more powerful than others, but no one would be able to agree on which Killers should be excluded from a given game mode. I wouldn't mind removing all perks, add-ons, and items though, like in Lights Out.

I don't really think it's that subjective, I think it's widely agreed on who is powerful and it's generally the hyper mobility killers (Nurse, Blight). Like they even promote the comp scenes these days which even limit said killers so yeah. Otherwise I agree with what you're saying it would be a lot of fun.

and as for @ReverseVelocity that's not what happened with the recent 2v8, which is what got me thinking about it.

I feel they could easily make events more fun for everyone if they removed the common tryhard options.

  • Yeah I've had a few games where hardcore tunneling has occured. It's really bad rn

  • The anti camp barely works anymore, its so much worse even when the killer is super close

Behaviour are you okay? Do you need help?

  • I just don't understand why they think salt in the wound after cancelling the Anti-Camp and tunnel was meant to achieve.

  • I feel some maps were fine after the changes: Haddonfield/Borgo/Coldwind

as for S-tiers they should just nerf them to Weskers level and stop doing everything in their power to not, it's embarassing.

    Last year, more like.

Add in also the AFK prevention, anti-tunnel, anti-slug.

And the go next prevention which punished people for getting tunneled.

  • The direction is for the devs to bug and release is much unpolished slop as possible all the while letting them pile up to the point they cant fix any of them.

  • @まうっす said:

Why should a killer be punished just for gaining an advantage in the game...?

Have you ever heard of the term "Snowballing" when it comes to video games like League and other competitive games. There comes a point where advantages go out of hand and there is very little to counter the situation.

Gen regression/blocking is hugely problematic in a 3v1.

  • I swear this bug was in the last two patches two I accidentally encountered it on Dracula and felt awful so I let everyone go

  • LOL funny video, thanks for sharing

  • Yeah its getting beyond a joke how awful the Test Beta is proving ineffective, fix your game please like #########

    Hire actual players.
