  • You will take this anti tunnel of pallets being removed and love it, okay

They know whats best for the game (Sarcasm)

I think it's a thing of the cosmetic design evolving.

The earlier cosmetics were more bland, dirtier, less flashy.

Now the cosmetics are like a neon sign.

While I think they've improved I just feel they could go back and make them match the rest of the more recent cosmetics so some characters don't look gross and unappealing while others look much better.

making things dirty and stinky looking will make less people buy it, they should focus on marketable and respectable designs for icons. Most RE fans and SH fans hate the characters in DBD who are legendary bar Sheva (coz she actually is the quality a legendary should be visually)

I'm afraid she needs full face remodel. She looks nowhere close to SH. She's young fit cop in there, while in DBD she looks like she remembers quite a few of overdoses.

Sorry I should elborate I dont disagree with you I just mean her hair is hideous even, its no where like it also

  • Could just high mobility so when stunned their power goes on CD rather than everyone.

Also DS should work on both hook states then tunneling would be really hard.

  • Yeah corrupt intervention seemed like a good way to help the early game, they did consider "early game" for a while but never saw any of it through on testing publically, I remember it being talked about.

On the Asian server, tunneling is considered a weak tactic. It's easy to counter tunneling. All you have to do is repair a generator while one survivor is under attack. From the perspective of Asian server players, I don't understand why North American server players get so upset about tunneling.

Because in solo queue over here people don't do gens, so one person doesnt get to play the game while everyone else in the lobby does nothing to help the situation, but also killers run alot of gen block/regression so its easy for a match to snowball, when the hooks start flowing.

Also no one runs much self healing or ways to keep themselves alive, our meta for a while was "stay injured" as people saw healing as a waste of time with perks like dead hard existing.

That's not to say survivors don't have their issues to play against also, just our way of thinking over here hasn't exactly been cultivated well, especially with the current mmr system.

I wish they remodel her face so they did with Clair, Jill and so…

It's her hair for me its awful and the fact all the survivor legendaries are caked in so much dirt for no reason, meanwhile the new Rick Grimes cosmetic is pristine no dirt on it at all.

I did a really quick fix on blender to show how bad it is (mine isn't perfect either) the one with the oversized wig is her actual one

    Cybil 2.png Cybil1.png

    They never make any sense.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

Yea and Shanoa needs to be made into a legendary skin as wellas Simon Belmont. And Richter's face needs to be fixed. And Daryl's screams/grunts need to be replaced (along with Ricks). And the Resident evil / Silent hill / Alan Wake legendaries need badges. And visual updates for silent hill's legendaries. And Rize needs a badge or banner of her own.

Yeah exactly I agree with you and Shanoa would be a wonderful Legendary

  • @SoGo said:

    Simple answer.

Tiffany was made a year or so ago.

Cybil has been in the game for at least 3.

It's not just Cybil though is it, Maria and James also, Saga too

Point is there seems to be a lot less effort put into some Legendaries compared to others.

  • @Nazzzak said:

Because this community survives on a steady diet of Us vs Them. Buck stops with the devs

Yeah the Dev's need to be held accountable, it's not Killers or Survivors

It's Players vs Devs at this point and we need to make it clear we aren't happy with how they treat the games health.

  • I think this is the same for the rocks in shelter woods too

  • Yeah literally, they need to polish the game sooner rather than later. Also they need to stop lying in the patch notes.

the survivor golden children that the devs love so much will never be able to understand anything that doesnt benefit them.

I think you're just not paying attention honestly lol

It had a yellow tone in the PTB it's now very green, I will say if you have your gamma slider up too high it will be bright cos of the fog - the recommended 2.2 for the gamma slider though does not have this issue.

No it's just bright IMO lol

Also shouldn't we just be forwarding this feedback to the dev team instead of telling people they are wrong for their opinion?

  • @Pulsar said:

For the thousandth time, you can get up on top of the rocks on Ormond again.

I've seen people just walk ontop of pallets coz of rocks on multiple maps in general like people could on PTB and that wasn't fixed?

  • This dev is a joke, thanks for the Quality of Bugs initiative.

  • No I don't think it does until they start polishing the game more. They make a lot of bad decisions and lots of perks on both sides which are NEW are released in a useless state. Loads of Legendaries and iconic characters are still bugged or awfully representing them, like they just have been shoveling content out with no polish it just feels like they abandon each one as they are done with it.

  • Honestly I'd not mind tinkerer being buffed again, the new 3 gen protection means it only gets so much use anyways.

  • I will never understand anyone arguing against this, the sooner a survivor gets off the hook the sooner they can be tunneled anyways lol

if a survivor takes their escape chance early all it does is speed the game along and keep the momentum going.

Do we really need slow boring matches in DBD? No.

It's pretty shocking were we are ending up after the promised QoL changes.

I think BHVR's core problems is trying to reinvent things instead of starting small and building. Take the anti-go next, people had been asking for survivors not to be able to sacrifice themselves on the first hook for a long time. That probably could have been addressed with a few lines of code. Instead we got an overly complicated system that ate up a ton of time, was mostly removed, and we ended up with the obvious solution - just don't allow survivors to kill themselves on first hook. Lots of time was consumed trying to create an impossible system.

The 9.2 anti-tunnel was one of the few times were I thought they were onto a good idea to make a substantial change. Yes, things needed adjusting but they, as you said, got cold feet.

Exactly, it's just a matter of following their vision regardless if some people agree or don't, coz then they know what kind of game they want to make and can learn and improve upon it from there.

By staying safe and doing nothing the game can't grow. Look at FFXIV or WoW, they may be different genres but they are good cases of gaming history where stagnation and staying safe/simplifying has only hurt them over time. You just need to look at recent interviews and history for XIV's case

Killer queues are not usually slow when the mode isn't here, even with two 1v4 modes, the queue times aren't super effected. When 2v8 is here it's a 500%-3000% increase in queue times.

It makes killer queue times go from <1min to 5-15 minutes depending on region and how long the mode has been out for, that is for 1v4. Makes killer content creation very hard in terms of retaining viewers, as you are just sat in a queue creating a lot of dead air moments gameplay wise.

Queue times in 2v8 are 30 minutes, making the mode damn near unplayable if you have a life and can't sit at your desk for 2 hours to have a few games of DBD.

I 100% understand its a popular mode, and love that survivors get to enjoy it, but I think also understanding how it affects killer players should be considered and at least keep the 2v8 event to a consistent 2 week event ( I would prefer shorter, but I get its popular) with no extensions.

That's nice, the queues are always longer than survivors as I said even when 2v8 isn't on more often than not. I used to play when killer queue times were short pre 6.1.0 and Survivor queue times were longer. We are not at 1-5min+ survivor queues atm, nor will we ever be in the current climate of DBD lol

it's usually absoloute peak hour when it does shift to more respectable killer queues at the weekends, coz people are playing with their friends, as that's when I usually play killer as I prefer the shorter queues.

Killer is just the lesser in demand role, that's how it is recently. Also to add killer barely ever gets bonus either lol if at all

  • @BlackRabies said:

There's far more survivor players than killers so que times won't really be impacted even if some decide to go on break.

Queue times for killer are awful rn half the time wdym lol

  • I mean sorry, but when it comes to the "metrics" killer queues are slow anyways, why would stopping 2v8 have anything to do with that.

  • @The_Count said:

I prefer a basekit Pain Res for rotating hooks which would do more or less regression depending of the killer you're playing.
What you suggest seems quite the crap we currently have for 2v8 that survs are abusing AF RN.

Sorry that's what I'm saying, Pain res baseline essentially coz that in itself is a fresh hook incentive no?

  • @The_Count said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4030175#Comment_4030175

Gen rushing and tunneling should indeed be addressed at the same time.
Thing is this is the 2nd try to just fix one side instead of both at the same time.

I mean some kind of anti gen momentum baseline would go a long way with the fresh hook incentives, that's why pain res is so popular.

The horrible thing about this whole QoL initiative

Well, the trap situation they put themselves in is now closed, and now we are in another problematic situation, there is literally barely anything interesting in this 9.3.0 patch, a whole chapter gone to complete waste. It's why I agree with Slan, 9.2.0 and 9.3.0 were a massive waste because the direction the devs are going in is just completely missing the mark. They could spend all this time and effort to solving the issues in another way, but they decided to literally reintroduce 9.2.0 in this 9.3.0 ptb and wow it was still not taken well, who would have thought? Everyone could honestly it's not rocket science

Well, there were a couple of good points to see in the future in the stream, so hopefully we do get better thought out changes later, because in this terms I agree with you, game needs serious changes as well, it's stagnating, and the fact they reverted most of it, while good in my eyes that they did that, is also aiding in game's stagnation, which is also an issue. This ended up a lose-lose scenario for bhvr, they push these changes, there is a big problem, they don't, it's still a big problem

I swear though if they reintroduce these thoughtless changes AGAIN later I will legit die from cringe

That's fair honestly all I want his bug changes, balance changes and polish to cosmetics that are bugged at this point.

They've proven they can't do anything to change this game that's healthy for both sides.

When have they ever learned lol? We are almost at a decade of this. I've personally witnessed eight years of it.

I didn't want to be negative, but there was a reason I said wait and see when it came to this "QoL Initiative".

I've been here since launch too, I even have the email to prove it lol 9 years off and on.

This game grew more and more into something I loved, I have so many good memories of it, I'm just not a comp gamer all I care about is the fun.

You were right to be like that, I was too, I just didn't expect it to be this much of a disaster. It's crazy, I really really hope they learn from this.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4030222#Comment_4030222

Not to be mean, but why would they start now? People have been buying and supporting them for almost a decade, and quite honestly, the game is really ######### quality. Amazing concept, nothing else like it, but the polish is unacceptable from any other publisher.

You'd think that since they have no other successful games, they'd prioritize their runaway hit a little more.

No it's fine, I know you mean well, it's just this is the biggest QoL initiative they've done and it's been an utter disaster, that's why it matter so much.

If this is their best attempt to fix this game, there is no hope and we are very right to be upset about that.

I just want them to do better and learn, that's all I want.

  • POLISH. THE. GAME.

That's all we have to do:
    -Meaningful balance changes
-Fix broken cosmetics or ugly ass legendaries coz they are EXPENSIVE
    -Fix killer powers
-Fix just all the buggy interactions
    -Fix your stinky servers
    -Improve the anti-cheat

I honestly dont care anymore about tunneling and slugging, you're never gonna fix it, you've failed twice now. JUST POLISH THE GAME PLEASE.

We pay so much to this in hopes to support you to do so, so please do it.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4030216#Comment_4030216

Could've used it, but they decided not to.

I figured they wouldn't, so scrapping a bad system is the best out of a terrible situation of their own making

I suppose, it's just a shame to have so much delayed/taken away when people like me are supporting them buying cosmetics and passes and all the chapters, because I love this game so much.

Just to see it burnt in front of me with wasted time, like come the heck on, can we please start just polishing this game at the very least with this QoL initiative with the love it deserves.

  • @Pulsar said:

Scrapping everything is the right move.

This iteration was bad. It didn't punish tunnel, but made not tunneling more difficult.

First iteration was better, and could have worked with some relatively simple adjustments, like adding an additional hook state or two to trigger the anti tunnel penalty. Big punishment, yes, but the rewards could have been adjusted appropriately.

Scrapping it was the correct call.

I don't agree when the previous build was right there to use, could have even used this time to be doing major bug fixing or polish to the game.

Instead we have chapters delayed and possibly lost a survivor chapter over this and that's just upsetting.

So many killers could have recieved meaningful bug fixes with this time, actual Quality of Life, Legendaries too could have been bug fixed also (so many are bugged rn).

IDK it's just really disappointing how this has been handled, I'd rather get meaningful polish and bug fixes over cold feet constantly over systems, there is taking feedback and then there is just being afraid to commit a direction.

  • Its all on, nothing to do with that if a PC and a Steam Deck do it with no issue lol

  • @Mr_K said:

Did we get tired of Ghoul nerfs that we are back to Blight?

Honestly no, Blight/Nurse/Ghoul/Krasue(not sure about her since her nerfs as havnt played against her enough to comment) are all terribly designed. One can argue with the recent stats, Lich could be listed among those too, probably due to fly being so effective.

I used to be fine with Nurse when there wasn't so many aura reading perks in the game, now she just knows where you are at all times.

I'll keep saying it, they need brought down to Wesker's level, which isn't that far honestly. He is a far better benchmark where this game should be, people like playing as him and like playing against him.

  • I think a leavers queue with a time limit instead of an outright lockout, where you can end it early by playing full matches with other leavers.

That way it can be harsh without scaring players outright away.

  • @THE_Crazy_Hyena said:

To be perfectly fair, it used to be better in the past, when ranks were still in the game.
Match queueing took about the same amount of time it does today, even back when crossplay wasn't a thing.

Also, looking at @jesterkind 's comment, I do agree on what they are pointing out.
Ideally, the matchmaking should take more than kill/escape rates into account. Emblems could also tell a good story. A player that is constantly getting gold or iridescent emblems over all 4 categories should definitely get matched with better opponents, until they level out.

I prefer'd the emblem matchmaking, contribution based matchmaking like this without a cap would probably do much more than Escapes/Kills. People would be playing against players who play more efficiently for points and get out/sacrifice, and be punished for tunneling/camping and genrushing/avoiding chase too much.

that way the toxic playstyles stay in the middle, and those who play fair go to the top, and people have to literally outright do nothing on purpose to fall down/die early.

but that's just me being idealistic it probably wont work like that

  • @Elan said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4029423#Comment_4029423

But that's what I'm saying… It's placebo of game being killer sided because all you face as survivor (95 % of games) is Nurse, Kaneki, Billy, Blight and 95 % of games they have same set up Corrupt, Pain res, DMS, Eruption… So at this point you truly struggle to win, but rest of roaster has significantly lower chance to win even with this meta set up and best add ons. Maybe I might argue that Dracula and Spirit might be close to the group above.

It's not a placebo, it's an option killers have to use and they will use it, just because you don't or I don't (I dislike playing as them) doesn't mean everyone else isn't using them.

For the record I want to buff the low tier killers, GF's 2v8 movement speed in 1v4 etc. That said, the S-tiers need brought down to Wesker's level, no ifs or buts. I feel Wesker is the perfect example of where hyper mobility should be.

  • Came back to say tried a new HDMI, it's just a console delay thing, coz even my steam deck is fine connected to my tv input delay wise. LOL

  • @OmegaXII said:

This is like saying Wesker needs to be 110% and lose token when breaking pallet.

Blight's chase power is FAR from the strongest in the game to justify the 110%, because it's not usable in so many loops, just like Wesker's Dash.

Unless you're a Blight main who put hundreds or thousands of hours, then it's probably fine. But those are extremely rare, and I doubt you'll see one in months.

For average players, he's not really performing much better than other Killers, so I don't see any problem with him, being one of the hardest killer to learn with high skill ceiling.

I disagree, even if Blight was brought down to Wesker's level he'd be far funner to go against. In comparison I feel Wesker is way fairer and more fun.

  • this game isn't survivor sided so long as the S-tiers exist, I'm sorry.

  • usually the case with PTBs is people always get the most useless first imperessions which follow to a terrible public release, looking at Ghoul/Krasue as recent examples.

So I'm not expecting a good patch out the gate, it'll get tweaks as time goes on with meaningful live data and context.

  • She already can with Dissoloution though, I feel when she is used with perks like that is where she is most oppressive, as It removes any counterplay aside from hold W

  • I'd be okay with him if his cancel window was longer or his first grab was shorter range OR he cant travel as far.

He shouldn't be where he is right now, I think it's hard to find anyone who doesn't think this way and if they do they only play killer, takes way less work than any of the others in his tier (ranging from A-S, keeping it wide since there is always people arguing he is A).

Don't care if people disagree, he is by far the worst addition for me in the history of this game.

  • Maybe they are there for when totem classes are added? Just a thought

  • Much like ghouls she is a killer who if you buff her, is unbareable to go against and if you nerf her she is insufferable to play

    It's just bad design lol

  • @Slan said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4028405#Comment_4028405

You may find it like that, but we both know not everyone is the same. Survivor gameplay to me feels boring.

And now to my next question. Is stagnation bad compared to moving towards a detrimental state? I think not. What we had is better than what we have, and that is undeniable.

They don't listen to the feedback, and when they do the game has been unfair for more time than needed. They only listen to survivor mains on a regular basis.

And it's BHVR we are talking about here, known for unfulfilled promises regarding the future. So I think it is pretty justified to refuse to believe in them after so much was said and so little was done.

The truth is the game is at a low point. Killers are leaving. And even then they refuse to acknowledge they have gone too far this year.

This ride cannot be enjoyed by killers. It couldn't be for more than half a year, and it's worsening. I cannot keep faith anymore because things are spiraling down without control and noone puts a stop to it despite recurring manifestations of it that are met with disregard.

They don't only listen to survivor mains, we've been getting killer changes for years. We just need more killer changes to make it more forgiving, the same can also be said for survivor rn. Your bias shows, I think both sides really need help where it counts rn. Killer needs more breathing room on gens for when they play without gen regression perks, survivor needs to be more forgiving when hard tunneling and slugging are in play.

The biggest annoying thing they've done recently is release overtuned killers and make killer mains who think that's how they are meant to be get attatched to them, then they get nerfed. That's probably the biggest sin they are committing recently, I don't think Kaneki/Krasue should have ever been buffed going into live.

Then there is going onto all the bugged and ugly unfinished cosmetics they keep releasing and all the bugs that keep amounting up ruining the game for everyone, with no QoL for those in sight either.

I'd rather them try new things and take the game in new directions, or stagnation will happen. This games design road is very comparable to mmos, which after 10+ years like FFXIV are also suffering from stagnation and keeping things simple.

Also killers are barely leaving, the queues for them take an age even with the pallet changes WHICH ARE BEING CHANGED, it has been confirmed. The pallet increase needed to happen on maps like Haddonfield etc.

Like no disrespect, but there is truth to both sides of the coin here and I think if you played more survivor you'd see it.

  • @OmegaXII said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4028521#Comment_4028521

So killers aren't players, and their experience doesn't matter. Is that what you're thinking?

That's not what I said at all, I do think our feedback matters when it comes to killer.

What doesn't matter is Us Vs Them lol

  • @JohnNemesisMan said:

The only thing I care for is Escapist to be nerfed. Its such a powerful survivor class, it completely denies pressure from every killer and it feels like a 'instant win' button for the survivor. Nerfing Shadow and buffing Escapist is the biggest slap in the face when it comes to balance. Until they do that, I believe they're covering their ears and trying their hardest to not listen to the killer side.

Yeah the on activation SB is crazy lol
