I understand your points ladies an gents, and that was my gut feeling as well... in theory she looks busted, but when it'll come to practice, after seeing so many iterations of 2v8, I remain unconvinced...
I feel like her infection will struggle to spread far enough or fast enough to really put the Plague hammer down, unlike Legion her power doesn't really scale up (and Legion's power really scales up well). I have feeling the game will be running away from Killers before Plague really gets going, unless her teammate uber carries.
- Remember there are 13 gens, on a very big map, Plague is just gonna walk around infecting everything? What information is she gonna get really? Something vaguely behind her got touched?
- Things only remain infected for 40s donbear in mind, before she has done even half of it, infection will be wearing off. Walking around spitting on everything won't be as effective as we think.
- Also remember these gens only have 70 charges. If you're infected and haven't become sickened yet, you accumulate 2% infection per second repairing gens. That's 50s... the gen is almost down by the time you get infected. If 2 of you do it, you'll actually finish the gen before you get infected...
Now about Corrupt Purge:
- The ability is pretty scary, but if Plague is grabbing her purge, she isn't infecting things... and that means she needs to be cutting through swathes of Survivors... but she can't use it to guard hooks, to interrupt heals, she can't 3 gen, she can't tunnel, and in this mode she can't really slug either... all things that made Corrupt Purge really strong in 1v4.
- She's still 4.6, and she simply cant be everywhere... simply running apart is gonna mean she can't get the Plague train going... I don't see this ability putting the hammer down more than a triple Wesker, Nurse, Dracula, cracked Billy or cracked Oni.
As I said I don't think she'll be bad... (and survivors will obvioualy hate it because Lolstompz), but her power doesn't really scale up, the Survivors aren't limited to 5/7 gens, they need 8/13 gens so her infection reach is bad.
- If you're infected you accumulate 1% charge of sickness every second, that's 100s to become fully infected in chase... chases aren't anywhere near that long in 2v8, so her teammates game isn't really gonna benefit from all these mass injured Survivors like you would think.
Maybe during the the last couple of gens in a toght cluster she might start to shine and make a comeback, maybe if she hard focuses a central group of gens she might be good if Survivors don't try to break it... but even that with gens able to pop in just 30s is a big ask.
I think her startup is just too slow for Plague to be the powerhouse people think she will be in 2v8. Though I would stress, the same way I feel about Oni... I don't think Plague needs any buffs for the mode, at least not until we see how she really plays out...
But I think she is an interesting thought case.
See you say that about Oni but in a good team he always has power like 90 percent of the match, which is really oppressive, I have hundreds of hours in 2v8 at this point, I really don't think she'd be healthy for it.

I play a lot of survivor and I don't care about the colour changes, if anything it makes perks like Lightweight/ghost notes/fixated etc more valuable

sure, if people enjoy 2v8 more then they should have the option to go play it in a different game
i want to play the game i paid for and invested hundreds of hours into learning, which is severely degraded when this event with totally different mechanics and rules is enabled and heavily incentivised with overtuned bloodpoint rewards
it's gone in just over a week, you can still queue up in the meantime and play with people who also prefer 1v4. What's the issue? The incentives are also still active on 1v4 I've seen survivor go up to 2.5x
People just are enjoying the mode while its up, plus the PTB is up at the same time also. Having this as a seperate game wouldn't change anything lol -

Here is a simpler solution:
Nurse
- Add the blindness status when charging a blink - That's all she needs.
Blight
- Rush tokens gets depleted upon breaking a pallet - Gives the survivor a little more time to get to a safer spot before the Blight can perform another Rush.
Hillbilly
- No changes needed.
Twins
- Needs a full rework to be brutally honest. Both in terms of bugfixing, and making their kit less reliant on slugging.
Ghoul
- Slightly increase the "fatigue" window when canceling a leap.
Singularity
- Remove the auto-aim. That's all.
Dracula
- Give Wolf Form a slightly longer recovery time when using the pounces, since missing them is very lenient, meaning that he can almost instantly use M1 when missing, and still guarantee a hit. Funnily enough, you get punished more for HITTING the pounce, due to the howling animation.
Krasue
- Allow pallet-breaking in head form
- Increase the window in between transformation from Body Form to Head Form, to when the Krasue is allowed to M1.
- Remove HugTech™ (sliding).
Yeah I like these changes I feel they would be a great place to start, I can't say I know enough about Krasue though to comment on those.
-
Yeah I feel some more tile variety in this map could go a long way, hopefully they add some more TWD themed tiles instead of just the one.

Nice escape rates! and Kill rates Thanks for sharing them <3 You play a large variety!
-
Maybe it's a sign most casual players enjoy 2v8 more than the current 1v4, I don't think it should go personally I really enjoy it on both sides, it's just a shame the killer queues are so long, they will be for a while until they start adding new survivor classes.
I also wish they'd give survivors more emotes or unique animations to make them feel different to each other, give me more reason to be excited for new characters, but that's not exclusive to 2v8 lol -

I barely see experienced killer duos in this version so that also might be why. I played drac with a 4k hours wesker and we steamrolled the entire lobby.
That being said my ER and KR swapped. 60% to 70% ER and 70% to 60% KR.Yeah I'm around 60-70 but I play a lot of survivor solo so that's probably my ER is around 55-60 across characters.
-
Yeah it needs a rework, reducing basic attack is one thing maybe give haste after hitting the survivor instead
-
@BorisDDAA said:
Survivor feels easier on average without Legion injuring the entire lobby all the time.
I'd agree with this so long as its not S-tier combo teams, they can be pretty oppressive. Like Nurse + Blight

neither has to come at the expense of the other. Especially if they take more time between iterations (which people have been asking for).
While I agree with this, it's obvious survivor has not gained classes at the expense of killers being added. We've still not had a single new class since the start.
-
She'll be too strong in 2v8 if left how she is in 1v4, information when people touch a gen etc, fountains competing with other killers who need props. Again like legion it probably won't even be because of her being strong, it'll be her utility paired with another killer
Like don't get me wrong I think your reasons are valid but she isn't the only killer, it's the same reason legion is annoying, she'd not even need vile purge to be effective, just go around puking on everything and everyone not even putting them into broken coz it'll do it itself like a DoT.
if people keep going for fountains then she basically knows where the survivors are as they cleanse too. -
I think gens going fast are only an issue when people are going out of their way to not pop gens when they have the adaptive difficulty. Now guide's been nerfed survs can't bypass the slowdown. A surge m1 gen regression esque class, or an eruption or pop one would be welcome tho
Killer is very much strong in this mode however, especially with a friend, it's just learning to communicate and when to work together.
It does very much depend on the killers and classes you combo tho -

I usually always enjoy playing killer in 2v8, since i havent tried killer now is the new pallet density update also in this 2v8? I feel like i see more pallets now than in previous ones.
You know what, I don't know honestly, red forest deffo seems to have a lot of pallets so maybe? It wouldn't surprise me if it affects it.
-
@Hannacia said:
Ive had pretty easy time as a survivor. I've seen killers struggle a lot and this is reason why im not playing killer in this 2v8.
Do these stats work properly though? I've had way longer chases than what it says. 🧐
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XRAFWGVRV2YI/screenshot-2025-11-09-185117.png
it's probably that little interval where chase starts and stops, awesome work though, I'd say 2v8 is the same as usual honestly for killer, I love the play while you wait feature.

@Classic_Rando said:
As long as BHVR excludes matches with abandons from the stats (still trying to understand the logic behind that), these stats are completely invalid.
They aren't cause I'm showing the stats of downs/chases etc I've done? they are still worth talking about

I don’t enjoy new killers design. Considering that I’m started to play “relatively recently” it’s ironic. The last design approach I actually enjoyed was singu, and even him became decent only after half of year of trials, yet for solo he is a sweaty bot in more cases.
Throw tomatoes at me I don’t like Springtrap as much as some Ghoul. Not because of strength. They are just lame for me. If not some of my friends I left without DLCes of new killers.
Honestly thats like me, I havn't really liked the recent killers so I totally understand, I play Unknown is the last most recent one

Wants S Tiers nerfed but mostly lists high A tiers. You can expect a nerf to these killers when gens aren't flying anymore and there aren't a ######### ton of pallets
The pallets are at least going to be changed Mandy confirmed, just not this next release, so there is good news at least and if we give good feedback, maybe they'll give us better bonuses to fresh hook incentives

I've already posted mine elsewhere but I'll post them here again anyway.
I can only share my stats from previous iterations since the stabby crew got benched, I won't be playing this one much. I'm only playing to complete enough quests to earn the Dracula charm.
Overall, 2V8 is the most balanced of all modes for me personally. My all time Kill (60.34%) and Escape (41.15%) rates are almost exactly what they should be.
This iteration, I've played only one Killer game (Billy with a Dracula partner. We won with a 7K). I've played 13 Survivor matches with 6 escapes so far (46.15%). So not wildly different to previous iterations, though obviously not a big sample size. I think they would probably end up more or less the same as in previous 2V8s if I did continue to play.
Are you excited for the new proposed version of legion for getting the insta downs faster? it sounds fun what they proposed
Nice work with the rates <3 -
I think nemesis is my favourite honestly, I was hoping dracula could get something a bit more iconic than church organs
-
I'm not sure I agree with the changes proposed but I do think they need toned down to around Wesker's level for the health of the game

I think if not just presenting SBMM in a way of “you are chill, therefore on low level” people would feel less pressured. But currently, just from a perspective of player who started this game last year, I don’t have a lot of fun playing against someone extremely strong or in opposite
Yesterday I met baby Myers and it was just sad looking how he struggled so much. I felt like ######### holding 3 gen chase. Yet I can’t give him free kill as well, because I felt terrible after long streak of loses because was first tunneled multiple times or my teammates haven’t done any gens. If I didn’t have unlucky day, maybe I let him mori me on exit game
Yeah new players being stomped always feels bad, I don't think there will ever be a consistent clear cut way to give them fair games even with SBMM.
I still think a versus AI mode that gives BPs would go a long way for both sides, I know we have it in customs but it'd be nice for killers to learn and gain BPs at the same time -
@Anniehere said:
The overall escape rate for me isn't much different from the regular mode. I played too altruistically, which cost me a few games, but the main pain was having the two duo on me for almost every chase.
Oh dang that's really unlucky, yeah it's really tough when both killers are on you I try to get as much distance as possible and reposition often (I play scout) and try to let people know where they are so they don't get doubled
@tes said:

Do you realise we don’t have actual SBMM, so it’s basically a lie telling its presense a reason of game being unbalanced? We don’t have normal SBMM AT LEAST because win conditions are trash in the game, as max because abandons and many other stuff are a free bypass system for matchmaking.
SBMM isn’t about sweating. You have right not to sweat and stay on low level with SAME people of same level/mindset, so I don’t understand complaining. You aren’t forced to level up if have SBMM in game. You just can’t abuse its absence to play with players who don’t belong to your level and have free kills/escapes, wrapping it in convenient package “we just different that’s fine”
No that’s not from perspective of player who play less good than you, And to avoid demoralizing them, you literally turn games into BP farming. Which I also despise. Since when do we normalize "playing along"? I don't know...Honestly, I don't see how both of our opinions can't be true at the same time? Like in my experience I just enjoy when I face a range of players and playstyles, more often than not in 1v4 it's always the same builds and the same tactics, which has just been due to SBMM. In 2v8 I see more variety in playstyles, and there is less options… so that's saying something.
I think a casual mode and a ranked mode when the playerbase amount permits it would go a longway, 2v8 has proven that they could both exist easily and that requires more players. So IDK, I think there should be a place both for the people who take this game seriously and those who do not. -
I wish the tracker showed us our most faced killers, would help
-
@tes said:

I don’t see point in playing against players who spend more time, or less then you… it’s basically unfair in any regards, and getting fun from unfair matchmaking is last thing I’m gonna understand in this game
I bet you yourself gonna have fun only until meeting 20k hours Nurse player….who played since release. People need to play with same level, otherwise it’s like playing with kindergardens while being high schooler :/ Validating “fun” through facing players who don’t have as much experience as you sounds selfish for me. For events I tolerate it because y, they are for chaos and we don’t want worse queue times. For ordinary matches I’m already don’t tolerate current SBMM
I do, it's like going to a meet up and playing with all sorts of players at an event, you're not gonna discriminate based on time played, it's not a ranked tournament lol
Like it's also how we don't get any good data of experienced players vs casual players and what's poisonous to this game. Not to mention, the example you gave would be once in a blue moon and said person would give a case for getting nurse nerfed finally to a point she is bareable in casual play.
SBMM is the reason we don't have a "Balanced" game honestly, or at least a huge hand in it, we need more casual vs experienced players to see what's really glaring in terms of balance. 2v8 is a perfect example of it, it can exist and it can be fine and people all come back to the game when it's more casual friendly. -
@tes said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4026552#Comment_4026552
I’m highly against absence of SBMM in ordinary mode. It’s not you winning/losing. It’s system being a weirdo. No joy from winning against baby survs or killers. When you’ll actually progress as player you’ll start to hate such matches no matter side you are playing
I don't think so, I like variety in my matches, it's fun seeing how different people play the game new or experienced.
SBMM encourages everyone to sweat and not really play the game for fun anymore, the emblem system I encountered a lot less camping/genrushing and a lot more altruism etc. These days its just genrushing and tunneling and that's really boring.
basically it cultivates a toxic gameplay mindset. -

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/O5J27E6I2PRS/img-2567.jpeg
Yeah mines are pretty decent across the board too on surv side, I think it's largely down to their being no SBMM which I'm enjoying, that said
I havnt been able to get into many killer games, I kind of wish there was no SBMM in 1v4 as well lol
-
Cybil Bennetts hair needs to fit her head better and look more like her actual hair as well, its like a cloth draping at the back its horrible.

If we nerf the S-tiers who are in the mode I'm for adding more gens but y'know I'm sure you'd be against that lol

I stopped playing killer in 2v8 because of this. It is as frustrating as old dead hard to swing just to see the survivor sprinting away while they are already running.
tbf old Dead Hard is nowhere near on the level as on sprint burst activation, I still think the distance gained from dead hard was way overblown and comparable to Dramaturgy more than anything.
It was the invuln that was the issue, and with the map nerfs (when the pallet changes are reverted), I feel it really wouldn't be a huge issue anymore. with current pallet counts, not so much. -

I'm with Unicorn here, it's the least of this games issues rn. it's no different to being bmed when downed as survivor, it's just par for the course. Plus what about survivors who tea bag to say hello or dance with other survivors that they managed to succeed etc.
We don't have emotes, this is the best we have, lets not limit that expression even further. -
As Blueberry says I wish they'd deal with those lot so we can have actual nice perks on our other killers.

Sorry, you misunderstood me. What I meant is you obviously dont pay for access for PTB, but the game checks if you have the full game bought. If not, it kicks you out. Or something like that.
I mean they can do that already by checking your BHVR account linked to the steam one, so I guess it wouldn't be too hard to do.
-
an actual Shanoa legendary would be so cool, if they are the quality of the other legendaries barring Richter (its just his face though) she'd be awesome.
-
different pallet materials for cosmetic and auditory reasons would be really funny, like metal pallets making clank noises haha, would be fun for different maps.
-
@brewingtea said:
Make it a separate "game" and also make it free. I don't have DBD on Steam, and I would love to participate in the PTB, but I'm not buying a whole separate copy of the game.
Also, I think companies should have to pay for their own QA testing rather than exploiting their customer-base for it
True, and lots of bugs still get past them, the list of cosmetic bugs is just getting longer and longer and its sad.
-
You say that about haste, but aura reading is pretty common as well when there is so much of it in 2v8, so maybe turn it into thwack where they scream as well to make it funny?

I hope they never do this because waiting seventy years from the point I press M2 to when my dash is ready, only for it to bump into any bit of irregular geometry and then be unusable for 12 seconds is horrible and I'm glad most other killers with dashes or mobility are more responsive and feel less clunky.
I''ll admit I'm not good at Wesker. But he feels so clunky and unresponsive that I can't bring myself to play him. I'd hate it if every mobility killer were changed to be this way.IDK, it's less like them functioning like him, I don't think Blight needs to be clunky, more it needs to potentially cover less distance or have less bounces, considering y'know they can break pallets for free. I don't know what the solution is personally, but it's how much the lot of them can cover distance which is one of their biggest issues (Not just talking about Blight). I'm not saying they should lose their identity, I just think like any other competitive game, high mobility is always busted.
Nurse is more how it doesnt matter the map (when she isn't buggy) if she has aura reading she is god mode. -
