  • I'd love some scream builds for killer, stuff that applies blindness to survivors or other debuffs. I suppose that might scare people away tho LOL

This is assym game. If not bugs and improper matchmaking + terrible learning curve you can easily close eyes on frustration factor.

But it feels BHVR just like victimising one role and put a blame on other, when factually they should look on core of the game firstly (what they still refuse because it’s too “wasteful” for them by resources). I don’t find any role victims here. Survivors are way far away from being weak, same with killers. So the obsession with asking about “fairness” should go. BHVR shouldn’t ask such questions for assym game because answers gonna be extremely obvious, yet they don’t give instruction how actually to deal with it. They still asking community about such stuff completely neglecting that their community has polarised sides. This is some kind of joke…

I do think they are addressing them though gradually, Wesker's breaking bug was fixed and they are reworking Legion too, which I personally think the new version sounds really fun potentially.

Killer players tend to vocalise themselves a lot more I find, the feedback is heard, just need to look here on the forums. That said they could do better on the survey front to ask questions tailored to the killer experience.

I don't think they blame any role, they have some choice words from time to time, but I find recent years they've made solid changes to either side. Could they do more? Yes I feel they could, especially for the killer casual experience, which is what i was hoping the fresh hook incentives would do. I've seen your opinion on those and I have to agree base perks should be the answer but I do feel some kind of back and forth needs introduced.

I don't think they could ever make meaningful changes to the game without causing us vs them but at least they keep trying. I'm not gonna defend them, but I'll take what I can get from these QoL, I just want both sides to be fun.

it already is threatening. a 4% hinder is still noticeable from the survivor pov. you can’t leave loops and chain into the next one as easily and if you get caught in a area where there aren’t really strong pallets or windows, you’re basically dead. the 8% hinder was overkill because you couldn’t even attempt to loop wesker atp. you were so slow that any “distance” you made was instantly lost because of his dash combined with your hinder.

As a survivor player I just disagree lol, we can just remove it with a FAS easily and should be punished if we just leave it there tbf.

    image.png
  • The issue rn isn't that the killer experience isn't in demand anyways, as much as the points are valid it's that the survivor role needs to be more enticing lol

  • Honestly I feel anyone in console queue should be in their own Matchmaking only joining PC by going out of their way to, but with M+K input thats gone out the window now.

I'd play console a lot more if it was just controller/console players.

  • Remember when his infection used to have a stronger Hinder at 8 percent? Am I the only person who saw both the nerf to the infection reduced on hook and the hinder nerf overkill? By that I mean the hinder shouldn't have been changed, the infection is supposed to be threatening

  • I mainly play medic and focus on saving, thankfully its rare I'm left on hook but when it does happen its usually RPD lol

  • There is MMR in this mode? I'm seeing people say High MMR lmao, what

How I see it is you just sometimes get matches where people play better than you, that's okay. It's just more painful coz the queues are really long for killer.

Suck it up and go next, I find I usually kill more when I work with my other killer.

    image.png image.png

The nurse one is funny coz I just did awful that game, somehow.

But like killer is not weak in this mode lol

    Hey.
I've just finished the survey and, again, there's not a single mention or question on what killers don't like, only survivors.
    No surprises here.
What about 1/3 of the roster haven't received barely any buff, SB on command, comeback mechanic (just by itself is bad) being abused and having to only make the equivalent of 6 1v4 gens to power the gates?!
    What about those?!

There was a few questions about it toward the end if you put you played killer, I did both sides of the questionaire and there was equal opportunnity to say what I liked and disliked about the event when it came to classes on each side.

It's not like you are gonna be complaining about Lara or Jill compared to Blight and Nurse, survivors dont have unique powers its just the classes, and you can comment on those.

Consider it training for when 9.3.0 comes in... cause your games are gonna feel a lot like playing 2v8 very soon 😏

Which is funny coz I enjoy playing killer more in 2v8 than I do in 1v4 lol

Doubt that's coming since they only have the game license, not sure how good terms Netflix is w Konami and vice versa but it really just depends on relations between the companies

Oh yeah, for sure it's unlikely I'd just like the anime trevors hair coz it looked good, would love to mix and match it with his actual outfit.

The problem comes from BHVR's part here. Their way of expressing things makes it seem like they care not about what killers have to say, but instead look at the survivors because they have the numbers. And after all this year this seems true. Survivor mains will always be a majority compared to the killer mains, that is undeniable. And the seeming neglection towards killer mains from BHVR's part only encourages an us vs them mentality.

I do feel BHVR listens more to survivors than killers overall. They have listened sometimes to killers, yeah, but not as much as they listened for survivors especially in recent times, which is frustrating.

And after many years of this, killers have had to resort to sweaty strategies to keep up with a game that is becomming more and more unfair to them with the course of time. Toxicity is encouraged, it feeds the cycle non-stop. And the game ain't fun anymore. It became way too competitive, because if you fail once, the other side humilliates you. You are not only defeated, you have to endure demeaning treatment more and more, in contrast to survivors, who can abandonn as soon as they are slugged twice or skip a mori. But killers cannot avoid teabags on exit gates nor generators being repaired on their faces.

BHVR is undeniably protecting more the survivor playerbase than the killer playerbase. They May have fun humilliating me, but I am not a masochist. Nor are other killer mains who just wish to have fun and a fair shot at killing.

BHVR is not going to listen to both sides. Not when they have spoiled survivors so much. They have chosen a side when they shouldn't have.

Thats exactly what these changes are aiming to do, start the steps to making the game to not feel like toxic strategies are a must to win.

Even if things get worse at first, they will improve coz we'll keep getting feedback, we prevent these changes we stagnate and won't get any good feedback or change. Community Managers have even told us multiple times if it affects kill rates they'll give killer buffs accordingly.

So let's just enjoy the ride, could always try survivor for a while until you get more suitable killer changes. I find this game is enjoyed best when you play both sides.

  • Yeah I feel there needs to be a QoL pass for legendaries/special skins in general

  • that would be a fun idea for sure!

  • I really want Netflix Trevor/Dracula as well

  • Cybil also looking nothing like herself either. Legendaries costing as much as they do and they mess them up so badly, the Silent Hill characters really need to be brought up to the quality of the Castlevania/Resident Evil ones, Richter's face is just not it.

    image.png

Cybil just needs some simpler changes like the excessive dirt cleaned up, hair fixed and her pants brought up/police badge on the other sleeve (coz she has them on both sides of her top in the og game). They could update them all at the same time since they are all from Konami, so please consider fixing them <3

Like also what's it with the double standards of making characters like Cybil ugly, when she is a pretty character then we have richter here who is like yassified with pretty eyelashes and eyeshadow etc. I'm not saying everyone should be ugly, I'm just wondering why they love to just pick and choose it's annoying.

  • they are reverting some map changes/making changes soon so there is that at least.

I just run endfury atm until its fixed

  • Yeah the game could do with a lot of optimisation especially on console haha

It would be true if they added the rewards for unique hooks from 9.2.0 into this ptb, but all they added is +750 bp and bloodlust for 15s or until you use your power, one has 0 impact on ongoing match, the other being mostly a nothing burger except for interaction with Beast of Prey. So in the end, they added nothing to killer side because really, what else they got from this? From anti-camp? Nothing. From anti-slug? Nothing. From anti-tunnel? These 2 things above.

It's my other big gripe with how bhvr handles this whole thing. There are 3 main ways they could go about it. Either A, nerf the existing killer strategies, the one they chose to go with, and probably the worst one. Option B, to buff other strategies to make them more tempting to use, I believe this would be the best choice. Or Option C, to to nerf both existing killer strategies and survivor's strongest stuff at the same time. I take it back, this is probably the worst option, it's too hard to do right away, and too complex of an issue.

And on the other side, they nerf 3 of killer strategies, what is going to be available for use? There aren't that many of them to begin with, and playing fairly is not a strategy, you don't benefit from it directly. What's there at all, Camping, Tunneling, Slugging, 3 Genning, Endgame, Hit and Run, Totemic, and I guess Macro control? The only widely available are the first 4, others are either too niche or work only on some killers. So by nerfing first 3, we might just end up with no strategies being good as killer, which completely destroys the agenda of letting players make their own choices

I mean I can see your reasoning, but we can't know how effective it is until we see it in actual use cases on the live servers.

So many people (not you) parrot content creators who are just the same as them, people who play the game, rather than coming up with opinions they actually feel match their personal experience.

A big change like this needs to happen I feel at least so we can see what works and what doesn't and go from there. I'm glad its causing discussion of what the best course of action is coz we've needed this for a long time.

I agree making not tunneling more enticing would be a good option, but much like you see that as a nerf to killers when the shoe is on the other foot, survivors will see it as one to them. So it doesn't matter what way we go we'll face the same issue.

So the best option is to cater to both I feel, regardless, coz they aren't gonna make everyone happy regardless, so might as well make the majority happy.

  • I like this idea, rewards for caging survivors would be cool

  • The zombies literally spawn where gens do, so just kill them more if they aren't doing much

  • I think it's good for shadow/stealth killers honestly

I like it a lot as wolf dracula also, hard to know where I'm coming from.

  • @Artimenius1307 said:

No, this is simply bad balance design philosophy to introduce significant changes to one side while adding nothing to the other, it simply won't work in assymetrical game

If you slam such serious changes, it will simply mean that other side will be far better to play as, while the other side will become far more terrible. And what follows? That's right, lobby simulator time

And quite frankly, it's naive to say that they will buff killers in return after pallet density and the stream. How many months passed since pallet density? It's soon to be 2 months, and they only started colelcting feedback for it now, meaning the pallets will stay for more time, enough time for people to leave, switch sides increasing lobby time, or abandon the game entirely. And yet, not even a whisper of doing something for killers in return

I know I sound kind of doom posting, but that's just what we have in the game right now

It's not adding nothing to the other side, they do have fresh hook incentives we just need more, and they said they'd add more if it's needed, not to mention Syringes and styptics have been reworked too and that's a HUGE deal for killer players.

Like I totally get your concern but to say they are doing nothing is just not true, we just need to keep giving constructive feedback, they do listen, it's just with two very different sides they aren't going to implement everything one side wants.

The casual experience needs a lot of work in this game, for both sides and the QoL is trying to address that.

And it's okay about the quote you have nothing to apologise for, the forums are just wierd.

It's quite sad how you check the history and see that it seems this year they seem to have chosen hearing survivors over killers.

I get survivor mains have the numbers but sweet jesus, they are becomming more and more spoiled to a point where even Scott Jund, who for me is bery survivor sided, is denouncing survivor players have grown overly entitled.

The game does not only have survivors. It has killers. Killers that everyday of this year have felt neglected time and time again despite being important towards keeping the game alive.

The community stream was a big red flag. They said survivors are DCING and uninstalling because of tunnelling. If that is what we are looking at then, okay. I am fine with killers leaving if this is how it's gonna be.

For the love of god, there is even something known as killer anxiety. THE HARSHNESS OF THE KILLER ROLE IS MENTALLY AFFECTING THE PLAYERBASE. But they still chose to make it harder and harder for killers. Okay, It's time to stop.

I strongly disagree with your first line, they have been trying to cater to both hense how the previous version of the anti-tunnel was walked back.

The issue with this community more than anything else on BOTH sides is the us vs them mentality, there is glaring issues on survivor side and there is glaring issues on killer side.

We shouldn't be getting upset one side is getting QoL, coz Killer will get some in due time, Otherwise we end up in this cycle where nothing changes coz we are scaring BHVR into doing NOTHING.

Let the Anti-Tunnel come out, let them refine it, much like the pallet update they are going to refine it. Nothing especially in this game is perfect when it first comes out.

I honestly feel this game really needs to buff the lower tier killers to A rank and bring the S-tier hyper mobility down to Wesker's level.

The PTB is an awful testing environment, everything which has come from it has flopped, it will need to go onto the live servers to get actual real feedback for further refinement.

Change needs to happen, and it will happen if we let it, it has to start somewhere, they've even said they'll change killers if the Anti-Tunnel is too effective.

Yeah, its surprising how a little bit of map mobility that doesnt go into chase helps him feel just better and scarier. It's fun to play as, and very scary in a fun way to go against.

yeah for sure, I'd love to see it in 1v4 to see how it fares

  • It's not "Impossible" to win without tunneling, it's just inconsistent lol

This is as a killer main in duos for all of my matches, The S tier killer is still decent but boring, the fun killer is still awful.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AZ15JXSMVGKA/image.png

This is still dead on average, but I really shouldn't be winning this much. I haven't played survivor in literal months until this 2v8.

Oh that Trapper kill rate is unfortunate, I wonder if the pallet spawns are different if that's from this iteration.

I've only played 2 matches as him but I got a lot of value out of him when I did:

    image.png
  • It's probably a bunch of people who don't even play the game for all we know and just watch it.

  • Yeah 2v8 in general just feels nice on both sides to be like "I want to play this character", it's a really awesome casual mode

  • The thing is this perk is probably going to become even stronger with the anti-tunnel changes. I don't think it needs any buffs.

Personally I've always thought a single perk slot for every person would be good.

Maybe there could also be a system like (This'll be a weird pull) in sonic racing crossworlds where certain perks grant additional benefits to certain classes. In that game gadgets like the handling vehicle kit works best on handling cars, perks like chemtrap could charge faster on guide for instance (since that class already uses traps). Perks like SB or DS should be reworked I think but other than that I think it'd flesh out the 2v8 experience a bit more, without requiring copious hours gathering perks.

Oh I like that idea, it would be interesting to try and see how it goes

  • @Munky said:

This is just a perfect showcase of how many casual survivors there are in this game, complaining over nothing, destroying the game in the process. Cause all those casuals now go to 2v8 to do their quests etc, and suddenly you are left with all the decent survivors in 1v4 (cause they know better). Go figure!

OPs description was alrdy the case for me for the last year, I quit playing survivor cause its boring/easy, and quit playing killer cause… do I even need to explain? Play ghoul, everbody DC's. Play trapper, get destroyed. imo DBD is at a pivotal point in its history. if BHVR doesn't correct course fast, I fear the worst.

I don't think its complaining over nothing, there is a lot of crazy stuff in this game which wouldn't exist in any other Live Service multiplayer game that DBD enables. There is stuff on both sides that needs addressing, it just doesn't help when people ignore valid complaints with no logic or reason.

I think the game will continue to have players due to it being so unique, regardless of what happens, they'd have to literally make it unplayable for it to stop.

unfortunately just part of playing with randoms in a team

It shouldn't have to be, there should be something done about it.

At least bhvr could make it something that's reportable.

I mean I agree, it sucks when you're game goes down the drain you waited for, I just think taking away that kind of agency from players would backfire.

I just don't know what a good solution would be, for AFK a ready check would go a long way but friendly killers are just people trying to have fun, it's rare you encounter them but the queues are really long so the frustration is understandable

  • This is like Survivors who try to be friendly and die early, unfortunately just part of playing with randoms in a team

I main her along with Cheryl and her other skins, I know what she looks like. She's an awesome rendition of Cybil. Also, the images you used for her were those terrible Ripped models that are posted on like, Deviantart. In the end, Konami signed off on these versions and I don;t see why they should be changed. If they do? Sure, cool yeah. But this is definitely something of a non-issue. They've always taken liberties with rendering characters from the OG source. Same dealio with James Sunderland's Model.

Idk coz like even looking at her in blender:

    image.png

Compared to some really simple editing:

    image.png

they have her hair cards on literally thinning strands of hair. all they have to do is shape it to her head more and retexture the hair and she'd be in a much better state. The dirt on her neck etc could easily be cleaned up to make her more appealing, then bring her pants up which is more "Realistic" for a cop in the era she is from.

If you think she is realistic or close to her I just outright disagree. So if your bar for quality is that far in the ground, I ask you just disagree and move on. I want a better representation of one of my favourite characters and your feedback isn't helpful in the slightest.

I'll take the arm comment and agree with that and move on, so unless you have more to add about what you want improved about her coz she deserves it, thanks I'm done here.

  • Would you still be able to lose crawler while in Bipedal tho? Coz if it still will lose it them I'm all for it

  • we'll just have people opening gates from now on even with the risk of blood warden with a gate kick, which I'm not against honestly.

Blood Warden matches are always the most dramatic and hillarious

  • @JamarionLikeDat said:

The Survivor Speed is entirely too slow for us to evade a killer with a weapon. The killers are 10x faster than us when we have killers like Blight, who is overly fast; it just doesn't make sense. Can we please get a boost to the speed for us to at least even it out to something?

Honestly if you're mainly talking about all the hyper mobility killers, I can see how you feel, but the issue here is we need to take care of them. Making survivors faster would just make the rest of the killer roster feel gross to play.

  • @Rigbeta said:

She just looks more realistic I dunno why that's a problem. The only change I'd say she needs is making her arms unique and not just Cheryl's.

Realistic isnt' having a dirty dish cloth as a hair card thats attatched to the crown of her head rather than the back of her head, Spin her in the lobby or wait until she leans her head back, you'll see what I mean, its ugly.

DBD does not do "Realism", you just need to compare their proportions with other game models to see that, even the SH ps1 cutscenes look more realistic than DBD LOL.

As soon as the remake comes out, that will be the "realistic" take coz it will be actually based on an actor scanned and mocapped in.

  • on the other end of things, there is like over umpteen different bugged cosmetics which are mainly legendaries too to add to that list of QoL and polish that has been sorely needed for ages too

  • ngl I am probably gonna get downvoted for this lmao but I use this abandon on killers I really don't like going against like Ghoul if they keep slugging.

What would you like to see? if you could choose
