Oni instadown is ofcourse better than hillbilly as he is not going to be in power whole match not even in 2vs8. If survivors play smartly you can limit his power a lot. Hillbilly has his power available all the time.
Except Oni is out of his power 5s tops in 2v8

In my opinion, Resident Evil hasn't been for RE fans since RE6 capped. There is valid criticism toward 6, but the characters felt like themselves and the plot felt at home with the franchise. Immediately starting with Revelations 2, it just hasn't been the same. The characters are written like different people and the plots feel strange. Prior to that, we had stinky plots like Degeneration and Revelations (again, in my opinion) but it wasn't anywhere near as disjointed as it is now. And now in addition to Zero, the CODE:Veronica leaks only further reinforce that.
It's not just RE though. It's very disappointing to see how good these franchises could be before they were all watered down. Doesn't really make you want to be a gamer anymore.
I disagree entirely, you sound jaded and burnt out and that's okay, at least that's how it comes across.
I love a lot of the games that have came out recently, the remakes have been a lot of fun and it's great to see a new generation of gamers discover the series.
when a series runs for like 30 years things are gonna feel different over time, Claire is still the selfless girlboss we've always had, Revelations 2 is just a hiccup along the line (mainly her interactions with Natalia). She still is herself in RE2make and in Death Island.
the old games havnt gone anywhere, they are still as awesome as ever, but I also love the recent games. -

I have been a fan of Konami's IPs since I was a kid from my parents, YOU and@Ryuhiare literally unaware and very ironic you're saying this within BHVR's forums. "Consuming" we are all consumers, you're supporting multiple "controversial" IP holders by supporting this game. Remember the NFT's, the Colorblindness episode? Companies can learn and grow from mistakes, you're purposefully being ignorant if you're gonna continue spouting that.I can't tell if you're purposely missing the point or not. I'm not passing judgement as much as outlining how misguided your initial reasoning is. My personal feelings about Konami have nothing to do with their track record of how they handle IPs, nor even how I feel about said properties. In fact, I wish they would lose the rights to most of their catalog, as many of their series deserve better fates than they have gotten. Some of my favorites haven't gotten an actual video game release since the DS or longer.
Also, the projection of consumerism is pretty silly. You have absolutely zero idea how much money I have or haven't spent on the game.
I want this game to be better and the IP's that I love be properly represented, you lot just pretending you know what you are talking about when you probably just going off of general assumptions rather than what you personally like is telling.I outlined the business practices they have shown as a company for the decades I have been a customer of theirs. You likely aren't even familiar with some of their series I have followed in real time. I'm not saying that to brag, I'm trying to assure you that I'm not going off of nothing. You're welcome to research their pachinko division and how they quietly release low quality products to retain IP rights, as well as how their content gets used in regards to collaborations. My point from the very start was simply that things like the R6S collab have zero to do with what you originally claimed, they are purely business transactions. Which is something that is par for the course for, well, businesses. I just wanted to make you aware that things like lore integrity are not a primary concern nor a limitation of said business decisions, so the chances of you getting what you asked for are the same as they were before. Which isn't to say impossible, but requiring proper motivation.
So how about sit down, be quiet and stop talking, fellow consumer.No. And demanding rudely isn't going to change that answer.
But you're misinformed and can't decide for yourself what you like and dislike, so someone has to tell you. Telling me something that just isn't happening is just so funny to me. It's not missing the point, you're just annoying. shhhhh
Stay quiet, stay mad. They are doing fine

Isn't locking off your item the point though? Especially with Sadako, it seems like an intentional decision to make you have to choose when it's worth it's worth losing out on your item to counter the killer.
Flashbang seems like the main exception to that of course, so maybe survivor perk items could be given that feature?
I feel that's more awful QoL rather than locking off your item being the intention. Sadako is infuriating to play against from a survivor PoV coz it feels you cant use your item coz she exists. Especially since you cant drop the item

You're literally hung up on history which isn't repeating itself rn.
History is what we learn from. This is not a leap of faith stance @Ryuhi is taking with a company like Konami, its an intelligent stance reflecting the history of Konami.
I feel you have zero knowledge in history regarding Konami, otherwise you wouldn't be spouting what you are. Do some research or don't, but Konami hasn't changed, they are the same as they were in history, which is very scummy with respect to their staff and IP collection. This stuff matters to people.
But hey, if none of this matters to you, continue to consume, consumer. Its what we were meant to do.
I have been a fan of Konami's IPs since I was a kid from my parents, YOU and @Ryuhi are literally unaware and very ironic you're saying this within BHVR's forums. What knowledge do you speak of because as of rn you and the other one are literally vagueposting the history. What matters rn is we are getting meaningful entries into these IPs and you are delusional if you cannot see that. So I have zero faith in you.
So how about sit down, be quiet and stop talking, fellow consumer.

Agreed! However. I think…in my opinion. Make 11 the exception. This feature or ability is only usuable when playing as Eleven.
I don't agree coz I'd like to use a perk like this on Geralt and other magic users, it'd fit their themes nicely. Ada could use her grappling hook to pull it down from afar etc if they want to be particular.

Its not about them being the only company that does pachinko, its about pachinko being their primary use of their video game IPs for decades, and yes, I can say that them licensing out castlevania to another company who will do better work with it as they drove off most of the talent behind the series to do a competing product. Seriously, if you know how konami operated up to the mid 00's through to today, their respect for their treasure trove of IPs is night and day, which was my point. Again, its not about "respecting lore" or anything like that, any and all decisions they make about the uses of their IPs is about how much money it will make them, and every time they dump out a lackluster Contra or MG Survive it kinda reenforces that point. If revamping the models they have in this game will make them more money instead of less, that would be what makes it a priority for them.
You're literally hung up on history which isn't repeating itself rn. The master collections for MGS have had ample free updates to make them preserved in a really good state, even just went through MGS1 and upped the resolution as an option literally announced at this recent state of play, pay attention that master collection vol 1 came out in 2023.
Also: "Company aims to make money" lmfao, every company does.
But yes, Silent Hill deserves way better from BHVR which is the original reason I made this thread, especially with its recent comeback. -

How does a completely different game with a completely different IP with a completely different licensing agreement with a completely different playerbase equate any change with DbD, honest question.
Because it's not the only crossover I've noticed this trend with, when it comes to any of Konami's IPs.
You'd be unaware to not notice the trends over the recent year or so. You dismissing a comparison because you feel like it when I've given plenty reason to doubt BHVR's state of the Silent Hill representation in the game, not to mention it also could mean we could get MGS since it can be Horror Adjacent at times too.
Cheryl and the others need some care to bring them up to the quality, I'm speaking from a place of passion as I'd like to see my favourite characters have the same quality recent cosmetics have.
@Ryuhi As for you, Konami isn't the only company who does pachinko lmfao, you need to see the resident evil ones, they are hillarious. Considering Konami has done MGS Delta which people love (if even it is Pricey), preserving MGS4, 2 SH games which were wildly successful and now they are releasing a new castlevania game by the people who made Dead Cells, you're insane to say they disrespect in modern times. -
@Ryuhi said:
At this point I think they treat MGS with more spite for Kojima than anything actually having to do with respecting its lore. If you know anything about how theyv'e handled their IPs with pachinko, the bottom line is always the most important aspect. There isn't really any way of knowing what that entails with the licenses they have collaborated on without either seeing the actual agreements, or the end results of them. It will always be around what decisions they deem most profitable.
It has nothing to do with spite. It's just MGS content.
Silent Hill is the only chapter which has not recieved a single visual update to its survivors, except Lisa's earring addition. Stranger Things came after SH, and that's even recieved updates. BHVR had the perfect chance to do it with their konami 2v8, or the like and we recieved nothing of the sort.
Like for goodness sake Cybil was bugged for several years until finally being fixed, and her hair is still incorrectly rigged, and her face still morphs in a hillarious manner when you rapidly unequip and re equip items on the lobby screen (Castlevania characters hair detatches from their head coz of a desync if you do this also).
I feel the SH chapter in particularly needs some touch ups, to bring them up to the standard the rest of the game has, even Tapp was updated, Giraffe Cynthia from rugrats Cheryl needs some love as do the others and have done for years.
If they love Silent Hill as much as they claimed to back when they first revealed it, they could put as much love into the PROTAGONISTS as much love as they put into Pyramid Head or the map. -
I do feel having a perk which was like her power would have been nice honestly though

I mean, you could start by being more specific no? They have been balancing around the top survivors, we literally just had syringes and styptics reworked, which those all stacked in a 4 man were really oppressive.
Top tier killers on the other hand and their addons barely get touched ever, most reworks are a slap on the wrist.
There is no reason we can't do both. -

This game isn't open source dude. Like I don't care about direct reports to BHVR. Especially keeping in mind their possibilities. As was mentioned somewhere in patch notes that nurse is "fixed"; we acknowledged that she's broken and buggy/laggy. So I don't see any reason to prolong such conversation except being positivist.
What does it being open source have anything to do with what I said, Would you rather they didn't try to fix it at all? Being an optimist isn't a bad thing.
The point was there is no reason they can't do both. -

I don't think people would be happy with Chucky 3, Myers was already controversial as it is.
Maybe make him unique by having 2 ghostfaces you can place on different sides of the map as a reference to the first film, so he can play uniquely by switching between them, maybe the idle one can stalk automatically while the other is being controlled. Letting him move between different sections of the map, but not mobility related.
That said some haste on night sroud would be great, like in 2v8. -

Genetic Limits is useless. It's one of the worst perks in the game. You aren't getting a hit within 8 seconds of injuring a survivor unless they're terrible, in which case they probably aren't running Dead Hard anyway.
Dead Hard cannot be used while Exhausted.
If you're letting a survivor walk away from you then yes, though in what world is a survivor walking away from you after being hit??? lol

simple! devs don’t care about the killer side. Look back at the street wise crisis. Devs didn’t give a rats behind even tho it completely broke the game. Only after massive back lash for two months did they finally kill switch it.
That's far from the truth, they'd not have cancelled the anti tunnel if that was true.
I do agree the pallets are part the reason on some maps my killer feels doo doo (I play Unknown and Dredge), but the reason we've ended up here is because the top tiers either ignore or shred them like no tomorrow.
If we want balanced maps, the highest tiers need to go (Nurse, Blight) they are the reasons the low tiers aren't having the game designed around them (maps, perks) rn. At least that's my opinion.
The other things is the new spawns (they spawn all survivors together on the otherside of the map now), has really hurt low tiers who can't get there quickly, coz now survivors have plenty time to get pressure one and reposition. I feel thats why gens are going faster rn. -

Yeah, Haste stacking needs to go before we see any meaningful changes to a lot of killers & perks.
I'll have to disagree with you regarding Clown's current situation, where he is now is far away from good.
That's fine, I'm not saying he is top tier or anything haha
He just is in a wierd place where numbers alone would be a bad idea, he'd need yet another rework, I don't think that's worth the dev time rn. However if you could make your dream version of clown, what would it be? -
I'd love some non human survivors too, maybe results of horrific magic etc but their humanity persists.
Or just fantasy races. the D and D chapter flopped so hard. -

I didn't get any of the S tier killers as an option in any of the three questions, so I included my thoughts in the additional comments box at the end of the survey.
Basically, I think tier lists aren't the be all, end all of determining killer strength. There are a lot of different factors that can make the strongest killers feel weaker and the weakest killers can still do very well if circumstances line up right. However, there is still a general consensus of who the best killers are (Nurse, Blight, Ghoul, Dracula etc.) and who the worst killers are (Trapper, Skull Merchant, Ghost Face etc.).
With that in mind, I think the S tier killers should all receive some nerfs to take them down to the level of the strength the current A tiers have, and the C and D tier killers should be buffed up to around the current B tier killers. This is probably never going to happen because it would take an incredible amount of work, but if it were to come, it would be for the better in the long run. Having a much smaller gap between the best and worst killers would make balancing other areas of the game (map sizes, number of pallets that can spawn, perk strength etc.) much easier.
I agree with the general idea you're putting forward, I do feel the games map design and perk design will become a lot easier when the more obnoxiously stronger killers are grounded more.
Right now I think them starting with the way too powerful wouldn't be a monumental task, if they want a casual survivor playerbase, they need to go. -
@Jay_Whyask said:
I always thought it was a missed opportunity not giving Dracula unique voice lines for the daylight maps.

Also, it would be a nice touch if Soma Cruz had the Castlevania easter egg audio applied to the Flashbang explosion. It's already in the game, BHVR just has to connect the wires.
I didnt think of that, they really should
-
Please add this, it's long overdue and add extra outfits to the Legendaries.
-
It's been an issue which is kind of nasty for a while, I don't really know what they could do bar make them pause based on proximity to her/is nearby for a prolonged time.
My issue is how well she synergises with the scream hex builds and slowdown on her boxes, those are the annoying games with Pig.
-
As for licensed, I want Claire changed ASAP, she sounds nothing like her for example.
I also really enjoy the voicelines between the walking dead Characters, would love to see them for the RE cast.
Original survivors I think are low on their priority list for revoicing anyways, Jonah was the exception and for good reason too. Although it would be cool to see survivors talk to each other and have more character to them, like Overwatch does. -
that would be nice, even if they reduce the value slightly to compensate, it would be my go to healing perk if it worked like that.

So long has haste clown still exists (haste perks stacking), I don't want to see any clown buffs. He is in a good spot right now.

How is Blight or Ghoul zooming across the map and then using their power in chase different from Vecna/Drac flying across the map and then using multiple anti-loop abilities in chase? Just because they use a different button after flying? Like I'd say Blight/Ghoul are stronger but not by a lot. I just don't understand the distinction.
Because its a power that can hurt people and break pallets/versus a power that is literally just going to a certain point with warning, then chase begins after.

Wesker's power is mathematically not great at mobility.
Weskers movement speed during the bound is 14 m/s the first one lasts 0.5 seconds, the second one lasts 1 second. That means he travels 21 meters in 1.5 seconds. However, do do that he has to:
Charge up the power for 1.5 seconds, lowering movement speed to 3.68 m/s, then afterwards enter cooldown for 3 seconds where he moves at 2.76 m/s.
This means that for a total of 0.5 + 1.5 + 1.5 + 3 seconds, he moves 34.8 meters. which is 6.5 seconds. If he just walked at 4.6 for 6.5 seconds, he would gain 29.9 meters.
So using his power gains him 4.9 meters of distance. Keep in mind that a full killer lunge from not moving is about 6 meters. So he gains less than a lunge.
So, yes he gains some distance. But not really so much distance that it is worth not having his power for the next 6-12 seconds (takes 6 seconds to gain one charge back). Its better to just run toward the survivor and use your power in the chase.
Nurse is also similar, people sometimes thing she's a mobility killer, but her power is actually quite horrible for map traversal especially when you lose access to your power on a killer that basically requires the power to land a hit.
Like I know it's not as good for mobility, but that's why I'm saying it should be there. DBD is too fast with the mobility killers, much like how people playing the low tier think gens are going too quick (which is conditioned by the high-tiers rn, aiming DBD to be played like it is when they are in play is unhealthy). I don't care if it's "not by much" honestly, he feels just right to go against.
That said, I also find Dracula/OG Vecna style powers for traversal are fine too, where they are designed for only tavelling, or Sadako/Springtrap etc. It's specifically powers which double as anti loop as well as mobility, which are way too powerful in their current state.
The charge time doesn't really matter much coz in loops, the survivor is stopping to read what he is gonna do, it's plenty warning to react to what he is gonna do and then he starts charging which is then fast.
Nurse yes you are right but she can also clip through floors and walls, cutting travel time down massively on certain maps. -
I feel they could rework these killers to be more accessible but also not be as buggy easily.
They are direly in need of some QoL changes and some balance changing. -

Why does the latest survey only ask for opinions on Killer balance from the Survivor perspective?
I assumed going into it, that there'd be a section dedicated to asking Survivors their thoughts followed by a section asking for Killer opinions, but no. The survey asks for your thoughts on a couple of random Killers from the Survivor POV and then it just ends.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Survivors here. I play both roles fairly evenly myself and survivors absolutely deserve to have their say in these things. But why is there no Killer section afterwards too?
There's a noticeable trend of these surveys being geared towards the Survivors and having no real space for Killers to chime in. The uninstall survey had this exact same issue. All of the answers there assumed a Survivor respondent.
Kind of feels like only one side actually gets a voice in these things.
They are the Killer PoV questions, you can put in how you like the killer/want them changed because they are underpowered too.
It's from BOTH perspectives, you're over reacting. -

Wesker's mobility is lacking if the survivors play mathematically right (prerun and predrop everything). You need mobility that will get you a hit like ghoul blight or even clown tbh. Wesker's dash doesnt let him travel from gen to gen, gives him a big cooldown at the end so survivor gets distance anyway, and your only chase power also goes on cooldown. It's not bad mobility when you're camping since you can zoom back to the hook, but otherwise it's not very good for moving around the map and hit and run purposes.
In my opinion new vecna's mobility is the ideal level or krasue's mobility because misusing them can be punishing and leave you without any mobility for a significant amount of time, but at the same time you are flexible to use it for chasing, traveling the map, or countering prerunning.
Wesker can close distance, I never feel he can't keep up with me easily but I also don't feel he is unshakeable.
New vecna is a poor gauge for balance rn, he has barely been out a month, so please let's not use him as a standard. Most people despise him.
Wesker has performed well and people still love him years on from his release, they also love playing against him. Especially if the new Hug tech being more accessible isn't a bug, I love playing against good Weskers. -

If I remember correctly, perk tiers can't be removed because they're apart of the foundational code that keeps DBD together.
Well they can be removed, it would just require a lot of time & effort.
Probably like, Dead by Daylight 2 levels of effort.
I feel that's a poor excuse though, I feel the excuse is more they want it to be bloodweb bloat. They made this excuse for other things they've changed too.

people play for fun? try telling that to the people that dodge over literally anything and spend more time dodging than actually playing the game, or the hackers, or the people that go next seconds in the game and make it unfun for every single player in that match. Not everyone has the same idea of what fun is, thats why it would be a disaster. one persons fun is another players nightmare.
If the block had a limited list then it would accomplish nothing because the list would have to be pretty big to have any meaningful impact because of the amount of bad eggs there are.
Like i said, blocking wouldnt help avoid cheaters because they often get banned multiple times and start new accounts, what you going to do? fill your block list with cheaters alt accounts until its full then you cant block anyone?
Well that's why its so important we need to get more control over who we face, with how hands off this company can be when dealing with cheaters.
Thats why you have the avoid list too, coz you can update it every so often with new bad actors, While I can't go into the specifics of how I would make it work, it doesn't take much for Behaviour to investigate other games who have functioning social systems to learn a thing or two. -

What do you mean they didn't, if they posted the data then denying it doesn't make sense, why not just only say the data was vague. I don't have the other slide but i'm sure it gave context as to what they considered hard tunneling.
If you're gonna say it doesn't happen, there is more proof rn to say it does than there isn't. -

not sure where emotes came from lol. emotes have always been a thing, tbagging for example? adding actual emotes wouldnt change much other than make dbd feel more like fortnite…i mean why anyone would want that is beyond me but each to their own i suppose.
I would love to trial the block system tbh, im pretty sure q times would sky rocket due to the amount of people that would be blocked just for not playing the way other people want them to play. Like you said, people shouldnt be forced to play face someone thats ruining the game for them…my previous examples stands, would increase q times, killers would block SWF teams, survivors would block killers and their own team mates, cheaters just make new accounts so blocking them wouldnt really do anything.
Because people play games for fun, much like the block system would help maintain.
Shocking right?
The emotes were just an example of things this community blow out of proportion like your "fortnite" statement, Resident Evil Resistance and Friday the 13th had them, it changed nothing about the horror vibe.
Killers would run out of space really quickly if they blocked 4 survivors over and over lol, as for blocking individual killers, that is the more volatile one, but an avoid list that only lasts a week with limited pin slots like other games have would be an easy way to avoid current cheaters/bad eggs.
It's more crazy we have a block list which allows you still interact with each other, any other game would come under heavy fire for it. -

It's really not… I barely see it where it isn't warranted.
We also dont need yet another thread about it.
Didn't they post it does happen often statistically in one of the recent community discord streams? lol

I do feel the content creation is influencing, coz that's what social media just does. I don't think stopping it is the right course of action.
That said we should be using these Win Streaks as examples of why X thing in the game may need changed, if a strategy to win is that easy to repeat, it may need looked at why that's the case.
I personally wish they'd give Competitive players their own queue, like a ranked mode, could have it active while 2v8 isn't around then when the season ends bring in 2v8 then. Coz if 2v8 can happen at the same time as 1v4, then a ranked queue for sure could lol. -
Any Classic RE looks would be really welcome, I personally want OG RE2 Claire or Code Veronica

yes it does happen in other games, there has been many players from these games that say they cant get a match due to the block feature.
Its not arguing worst case scenarios its arguing most likely scenarios.
Im not sure your aware what the general player base of dbd is actually like lol, you dont save fast enough? your blocked. you didnt last as long in chase as others expect? your blocked. you have 1 bad match, will people care? nope, they would probably block you so they can focus their matchmaking for people of better skill. for what? not living up to other players expectations? killer struggles in a match, the survivors are blocked, do this until all thats left is easy players they can 4k.
I am aware, I am also aware you're all terrified of emotes or anything different being added to the game, afraid of meaningful change. Yet as soon as the "emote" is added as a perk, it's okay (bardic/one-two-three-4). A different example, but one non the less.
A meaningful block system/avoid system would go such a long way in this game, allow people to control their enjoyment more, even if it had a smaller limit or a time limit, it's better than forcing someone to face someone who is ruining the game for them, Overwatch has it, so does Marvel Rivals, it's just a modern game feature.
