The problem with that is, in order to give killer players something more enticing than taking easy chases into massive value from someone being dead early, you have to give them something MASSIVE.
If you give killer players overall something that huge, the people who already do fine without tunnelling are going to do even better and become borderline unstoppable.
It's much safer and more appropriate to just nerf the unbalanced cheese strat so it's not as easy and/or rewarding.
Exactly this, but that person already knows that lol Anyone with a shred of common sense knows this. They just want incentives to not play toxic while still having the option to play like a toxic baby.

Turning a 4v1 into a 3v1 is just smart to do. There is no reason to spread out hooks. So, the way to fix it is to give killers ar reason to not tunnel.
As the saying goes, you attract more flies with honey than ####.It's not smart, it's easy, there is literally nothing smart about it lol Hence why it's getting changed and no, the way to fix it is to punish Killer for doing it. Those that want to keep on keeping on with that oh so "smart" tactic can suffer penalties that make the match harder for them. Easy.

Hmm I thought gen cheats was fixed, are you sure there wasn't 3-4 survivors on it?
In SoloQ recently, I have watched as my teammates have healed me and done gens with me, while not being anywhere near me. So yea, there's a lot of people cheating right now. No, gen cheats are absolutely not fixed or I wouldn't be seeing my teammates do gens that they aren't physically at, doing lol

Oh, yeah. I'll probably just use Kaneki now. I won't be bringing any BP offerings, though, since I'll be buying them for Spirit, and I can't use Spirit, which means fewer BP for everyone involved. And I won't be playing nice or farming. I think I'll go out of my way to make the experience as miserable for survivors as I can. If I can't have fun, neither can they.
Ah yes, the typical whiny baby DBD player mentality. You are miserable and you'd like everyone else to suffer for it. Cheers to you, I'm sure you're great at parties.

As someone who plays both sides and has zero tolerance for people who hide and wait for teammates to die, I wanted something to be done to locate the hiding player. As killer, if I hook the second to last survivor and do a loop of the map and no one comes to save them, I will stand by the hook until they can unhook and, very often, they lead me to the coward. Unfortunately, I've never had a killer do this for me. Many don't seem to piece together what dynamics are going on on the other side.
When I play surv, I never wait for bleedout for hatch. I care more about being on a team and doing things to help teammates. We both deserve a chance to leave. But now, if I'm creeping my way back to a slugged survivor, I get crows. I have to stop and waste time touching a gen just to keep them at bay, which often broadcasts my location to the killer. I'm seeing people with crows when I play killer and there's a 3gen, and I know they don't deserve them, they just couldn't do much.
I don't know how they thought this would be good. The punishing of survivors is so baffling to me, since you need four times the amount of people who want to play that role, yet they make it harder and harder to do anything. And now when I switch to killer I just feel bad for the survivors because I know how rough it's gotten. The only people that ever seem to manage okay no matter what are the coordinated teams.
Why? The end of the game is hatch or gates. Why would a Surv go unhook the 2nd to last just for you to then target both of them and get a 4k when the endgame the Devs created is either hatch or gates? The issue isn't the players, it's the mechanics the Devs have created and the absolute atrocious end game dilemma the game has put players in.
It's great that you'll go pick up the slugged Surv or get them off hook just to farm some more points before the Killer kills both of you, but you can't expect everyone to do that, especially when the goal of this game for Survs is to…. survive, not to mention, again, that the endgame for matches is hatch or gates.
-
It's pretty pathetic that BHVR implemented this, especially with all the different gen blocking perks . I've gotten crows because of dead mans switch, especially in late when when one person is gone and there's more of an emphasis on evading.
Maybe it will be fine depending on the changes BHVR makes to camping/tunneling, but if they don't curb those low skilled playstyles, the AFK crows in their current implementation will kill Surv role. 2.50x xp is barely enough to tolerate all the crap SoloQ has to endure.
-
Alright, but be warned, you're going to be met with SWF groups who play the most toxic way that they can possibly play, you aren't going to get matches as Killer akin to what you play in as SoloQ.

No, you aren't psychic because I don't think generator repair times are the issue. But, in all of that, you almost quite made my point for me, then dismissed it. Yes, they need to incentivize killers to spread out the hooks and not tunnel, not punish killers for doing so. The "Cause" is that it's the most efficient way to play. So they need to change that. How? I don't know, I am not a game developer. But until they do figure something out to fix that, they will only be putting bandaids on the problem.
This post is ironic tbh. You stated tunneling is the most efficient way to play and that's why it's done, while also stating that BHVR shouldn't decentivize tunneling because you don't want to "punish" Killers. To make tunneling not the most efficient strategy, they need to punish it. Unless you're in the camp that Killers should be rewarded more for not tunneling? Which isn't going to change how tunneling is the most efficient thing to do nor deterring toxic players from doing it every match. Killers shouldn't get any incentives to not tunneling.

I often feel like Solo Queue is a scapegoat for poor matchmaking and bad players. It doesn't matter if you're in a SWF or solo queue, if you go down 5 seconds into chase against a perkless trapper who hasn't placed any traps yet, the match was lost from the start.
Solo queue can absolutely stomp a large chunk of the roster just by each player playing relatively well and playing their part. But instead we have the single worst players in gaming history combined into a "team" fighting against each other for 5th placeIt matters immensely and you stating it doesn't is actually at best ignorant or at worst nefarious. Half the Killer roster is outright just countered by being in a SWF and communicating while SoloQ clearly doesn't have that. Matches with SWF also can bounce back more reliably than SoloQ and I'm not even explaining why that is because it's common sense.
DBD players aren't the worst players in gaming history, but the game has atrocious matchmaking that BHVR refuses to address combined with how antiquated the gameplay loop is, especially for SoloQ.

My take is that people severely over exaggerate his strength. Calling him "Blight 2.0" is hilarious when Blight is still dramatically stronger than him in every way. He's a strong killer, but nowhere near the strongest currently and I don't see how that's a bad thing. Nobody wants to play more than half the killer roster because they're weak.
The only thing he needs in a fix to the "kidnap tech" bs where you literally freeze a survivor in place for a full second whilst fast vaulting and downing them for free. Otherwise he's in a great place. Hell you can even make his power work against him by giving him the choice in losing enrage or essentially giving you a bonus healthstate by deep wounding you when already injured.Nobody wants to play half the Killer roster because of SWF, not because the Killers are generally weak, but because SWF breaks the game. That's why we have overtuned Killers that deal with SWF and completely stomp SoloQ and why SoloQ is riddled with people who want to ditch mid match.
If people knew they were going up against a complete SoloQ lobby they'd pick any Killer that their heart desired, but instead we have most of the playerbase always preparing for the worst.

@drag27 said:

Yea this isn't an excuse anymore. Survs can't even stealth around gens thanks to the latest update, so that was deemed not a valid strat. Now tunneling/camping is going to get mechanic changes because in their current forms, not valid strats.

It's getting really bad. I run into people I suspect are subtly cheating consistently two or three times a night. Survivors that "just happen" to always make the right choice on the 50/50, that never falls for any mind game, that also conveniently completely vanish the moment they break LoS.
Just had a match and there was an Ace that was speedhacking. Just randomly would get much faster for a second or two anytime I would gain some ground on him, like we'd be running in a straight line and I'd just watch him speed up and then slow down a couple times lol. Managed to get him once but when I picked him up, he almost instantly broke free, so I just saved him for last and in endgame, he sure wasn't happy lol

They think they're being slick, too. I know when gens are going too fast. I've played survivor. I know you're not running all the way across the map and solo popping a gen in a minute or two with no toolbox or perks to help you. I know how fast you're supposed to be.
All the speed hacks, fast gen pops and aura hacking. I'm playing animatronic, I can go into a door at a gen with 0 progress and then by the time I go through two more doors, then gen is popped. Not to mention I've been running floods of rage and BBQ for aura, just to see what I can see, literally nothing lol I see almost always no ones aura at any point, even when in floods of rage unless I'm actively chasing that Surv it's showing me lol
Almost all matches are against SWF's of some kind but mostly 2 mans I'm seeing.
-
You can always see cheaters in Tik Tok live that are blatantly cheating lol It is pretty rampant rn, all Survs matches I've played so far have a cheating Surv teammate and as Killer I'm seeing some cheating with the speed of the survs and what perks they have vs what transpired in the match or how quickly some of these gens are getting done for seemingly no apparent reason.

Still the DC Penalty for getting Crows is ridiculous. Just entirely too many ways to accrue "naughty" points towards a perma-ban. I'm afraid to play in case I rack up too many "demerits".
This update also brought in immense amount of cheaters. I played four Surv matches so far and all four times I had Surv teammates that were cheating, like zooming across the map and preventing Killer from picking them up. I play Killer and it's the same thing, I'm watching Survs go invisible, start running as if they have sprint burst x3 and straight up disappear after vaulting.
The game is pretty volatile rn.

DbD is supposed to be a horror game, which should allow some stealth. Theres times I've gotten Crows for lurking nearby because someone brought killer and is looping near what I was doing (a great example is shack generator). Or new players, like my friend, who still find the game scary and are more weary. She does stuff but definitely takes her time. They cannot fix all complaints because people are people. These changes feel like an unneccesary overcorrection.
Here's my hot takes:
1) Go next needs to be scrapped. I stand by a better option is give people 2 or 3 set chances to 4% on first hook, like before, but they do NOT take away you hook health state. Then after that you wait to be unhooked or go second. Or, more controversial, is let people DC without penalty. A killer they dont like or have a phobia? They're upset? They can leave and we get a bot. I would say improve survivor bots if this happened. Right now you still have survivors throwing fits because they can't die, which hurts the team. Not having 4% is harmful, especially when no one is unhooking that's your only chance. People already have said for a long time "just DC so we can at least get a bot" but then they get a penalty. People would leave if they didnt and the game could go on.
2) The afk system needs to also be scrapped. I understand theyre trying to fix things but its an overcorrection of a non issue. They did a built in DC for killers after 10 minutes. Same way if we get slugged we can abandon. Both dont solve the issue but it's something. However this afk system almost nullifies the point of the killers abandon. If a survivor doesnt touch a gen they get crows and killer can find them. This afk system just punishes survivors, especially baby ones new to game. How are they gonna acknowledge they need people to play survivor more, especially in 2v8, then make these changes to alienate them? As someone who plays both, mostly survivor until now, "extreme hiding" isnt an issue. People need patience and if not use the abandon feature.
3) The mori change is diabolical. It takes away so many chances for a come back and for someone to get out. Unbreakable, adrenaline, tenacity, hatch offering, Entity being kind (my favorite kind of videos) - all gone because of this change. People who complained about waiting to mori are usually the ones who slugged, tunneled, and acted toxic. They can wait the little time it takes for us to die. Once again a change to punish survivors and "fix" a non issue.
Not to mention just how nuanced the game can be at certain times, this type of system just doesn't work. Just before this system was introduced I had a game against a deathslinger and I was doing shack gen that had basement in it. The deathslinger would pop over to the shack gen while I would go into the basement to avoid him. He'd kick the gen and patrol around it for a bit to then leave and then I'd go back up to stop the regression which he then would come back over in that time span to check again while I'd slink back into the basement after stopping the regression.
I kept him busy for a large portion of the match doing that, because I literally would only have enough time to barely stop the regression before he would come back over and he didn't want to commit to checking the basement, it gave my teammates enough time to do the other gens and the deathslinger finally stopped once he had kicked it to where it was blocked.
In this new system I would get the crows in no time, with a giant target pointing to exactly where I am even though not only am I playing the game, but I'm outplaying the killer immensely.
The system needs to be killswitched, not patched or revised. It's stupid, promotes dumbed down gameplay and rewards low skilled Killers.

Feel like a step in the right direction would be to pause the point gain on anyone who's running. It would help separate someone who had to cross the map to get an unhook or something from someone who is crouching behind a bush for half the match.
A step in the right direction would be to get rid of it as it currently is, bring back the old afk system and have the new one kick in ONLY when two Survs are left, after the 2nd sacrifice is completed. I mean that's when the hiding starts because BHVR has created a dead end as end game. There is no reason that Survs should be getting afk crows with a full team or 3/4 a team, unless they are completely non moving for minutes.

It'd be funny if it weren't so true
BHVR is just immensely out of touch or simply doesn't care beyond trying to turn a profit from DLC. It's pretty laughable that they incentivized one of the most toxic things a Killer can do and most do, while also incentivizing Survs to do what most Killers complain about as well. These changes have just caused more "gen-rushing" because otherwise the game tells the Killer exactly where you are if you aren't on a gen…. while also emboldening Killers to keep playing in immensely unfun and toxic ways.
Idk, it's just a flop of an update.
-
It's because of the lack of real balance and the continual changes that remove Surv agency from gameplay. The game has been balanced around SWF with nerfs to all Survs outright which has really damaged the role and created this entire situation, which has been a long time coming. SWF's don't kill themselves on hook, the going next epidemic was a SoloQ problem and BHVR is uninterested in actually trying to improve it beyond forcing Survs to sit in matches through punishing game mechanics.
It doesn't help that BHVR keeps releasing over tuned Killers riddled with bugs with disregard for the affect on the game since they are focused on generating quick profit. It still boggles my mind how half the Killer roster has immense map traversal that have no counter with all new Killers having insane map traversal (FNAF literally has teleportation doors that are directly kissing most gens) yet most maps have been nerfed in size.
There also have been no actual deterrents or changes to Killers tunneling/camping/slugging and that's been increasing in severity for years, leading to SoloQ not wanting to sit in matches that are a complete waste of time. This new afk and "go next" prevention proves that BHVR has no idea how to actually meaningfully develop this IP.
The forums also highlight this, with most people talking about "objectives" need to be done or how Killers and SWF have a right to play however they want to play…. there's little to no emphasis or rhetoric about what is fun and what can be done to make the game more fun.
The entire issue stems from the game not really being that enjoyable but having an addictive gameplay loop built off of screwing others over.
-
Well, now if they tunnel people out quick enough it'll cause that Surv to get a DC penalty so really all BHVR did was incentive it even more for toxic Killers lol

Some people are just going to defend anything and will gobble up whatever slop BHVR throws their way, just the way it is lol The vid showed two afk crows being acquired after tapping a gen, half healing a Surv and then going to unhook while evading Kanaki and all the person can respond with is "Why didn't see prior gameplay" lol

I’ve been on TikTok, and I don’t see match videos there either.
If this is really happening so much, then why is it so hard to find match videos? And by match videos, I mean videos that show continuous game footage, starting at least a few minutes before the crows started appearing.
Seriously, why can’t someone just link us to these videos?
So search it. Idc that you choose to lie. I've been presented with four videos this morning on my fyp in the span of like five minutes of players showcasing how atrocious the afk system is. It's not hard to find these videos at all and there's no shortage of people complaing about these changes. Here's another one that just showed up for me:
https://www.tiktok.com/@donnjaburn /video/7517462815876091191?_r=1&_t=ZP-8xL5KZPyJvr
Idk who you're trying to gaslight, but redirect the lame attempt somewhere else, thanks.
-
People are complaining on Steam and showcasing how awful the new AFK system is on tik tok with constant vids of it literally punishing people who actually are trying to play the game. Not only that, but then the introduction of the penalty for "going next" directly rewarding tunneling Killers, is completely asinine on BHVR's part and exacerbates one of the biggest issues DBD even has, which is tunneling Killers.
The afk system needs to be removed and put back to how it was originally and the penalty for "going next" needs to be removed with hook attempts brought back. BHVR needs to stop trying to force people to stay in matches through punishing game mechanics and should start making the game actually fun to play.
We wouldn't have any of these issues if SWF and tunneling/camping Killers were balanced out accordingly with and emphasis on actually making the game enjoyable to play. Also FNAF needs to be killswitched, how this Killer got released in this state with all the game breaking bugs is absolutely astonishing.
-
It's the cycle. Release OP Killer to get sales that ruin any sort of SoloQ. SoloQ stops playing, almost every match is a SWF so then Killers HAVE to be overtuned to deal with that, which ruins the game even more and makes everything unfun.

If the go next and AFK changes irritate people to the point of dropping this game, then it works. As those people should not be queueing up in the first place.
You play DBD because you intend to actually play. If you rq at the first inconvenience, this is not the game for you.Enacting these changes while doing nothing about tunneling, camping, slugging is actually such a stupid thing to advocate for, it lacks critical thinking to the point that it's astounding. Every single one of you that cheers this on is exactly why this community is atrocious. So, congrats on continuing that legacy. At the end, you're going to have cheaters and miserable people to play against and if BHVR ever tries to make a DBD 2, it will flop.
-
I mean, honestly, there really isn't a way to save DBD. The game is only afloat because it's just about the only asymm consistently on the market and that's because of the established IP's they've added content for, that's it. BHVR is a pretty bad studio that can't really create successful games by their own merit, which is why DBD is their only commercial success and even that's pushing it lol The gameplay loop is pretty antiquated and it's just becoming more glaring with each update, but people will still eat it up depending on if an IP they love is added.
DBD is a game that's cultivated salt and spite as a baseline. For that to be changed, most of the gameplay would need to be overhauled and that will never happen. BHVR will just continue to release pay to win content and DLC based off established IP's to keep their studio afloat with the occasional new game that will flop. The most they will do are updates with badly placed band-aid fixes that never hold up and just end up creating more issues.

Or they can just DC and let the bot actually contribute in their place
I'd rather have a bot than someone who gives up immediately.
Then maybe this party game shouldn't have DC penalties as if pub lobbies have bets placed on them. There is no logical reason for a DC penalty in this game to ever exceed 5 minutes and that's being generous. This game literally cultivates spite and has one of the most toxic communities in gaming, but I'd bet the community would start self regulating if people could more often leave unpleasant matches with a bot replacing them.
If toxic people with toxic gameplay styles want to grief, they would be more likely than not, be forced to play with bots. I bet they'd get bored of that quickly and then alter their gameplay style to something pleasant that facilitates fun. Instead we have BHVR forcing others to play with them.
The "going next" change with unhooks is at the core awful because it's further removing player agency and creating more of what people don't want which is the complete removal of at least minimal gameplay. The afk changes though, are going to cause people to literally just stop playing altogether.

Eh DBD was never a fun game to "die in" like other asymm games. DBD was always and continues to be built off the back of spite and salt.
I mean, this is purely subjective, but this isn't my experience. At least not my experience with past DbD. I certainly have had many fun matches, including those where I won or lost, as either killer or survivor. I've given props/GG to opponents for fun matches regardless of the outcome, and even given door/hatch to survivors who were particularly fun or funny, as well as offering myself as a kill or mori to killers for the same.
Not that that's common, or even something that should be expected, but that certainly happened for me a lot more in the past. And I typically won't do those things when the game isn't fun, which has been more and more as the years/patches go on.
And genuinely, if you consider the game to be "built off the back of spite and salt" as you put it, why are you even still playing? If you truly feel that everyone in this game has the worst intentions, then I feel bad for you. Especially bad that you continue to choose to stay in what you self-describe as an abusive environment.
The refusal to balance SWF,
I won't pretend that every killer is equal, or that solo queue is in a good spot, but they put out the stats that, yes, they actually have balanced SWF overall. In fact, the numbers they gave us most recently shows that solo q was escaping slightly more than people who were grouped in any group size, and everyone was escaping at about 41% or less overall in every group size. There was a very weak correlation also, that being in a group was actively detrimental to escape rates… so altruism actually does get you killed in this game.
So, unfortunately, instead of making the game better for solo q, they chose to listen to some aspects of the community and make the SWF experience just as awful.
Eh most of it isn't subjective, it's observable in our reality and it's reiterated through all the objective issues with the game. SoloQ Survs are expeditiously quitting out of the majority of their matches while Killers continue to slug/tunnel/camp with impunity to fulfill their bottom barrel ego's. The game lacks fun unless you're playing Killer and are getting your rocks off or you're playing SWF and getting your rocks off, both involve ruining the other party. People who say different are lying to themselves as well as others.
I loath the "why are you still playing" comment, it's the comment people make when they have no real counter. I play it because I paid for it and I have a right to. I also take breaks from it and come back here and there to see what's been changed and updated, you have no idea what my playtime frequency is. I also can critique the game and still play it, I obviously engage with these forums because I want the game to improve and unfortunately it's like the only asymm game still alive, which is a shame because it generally is bad and has been ruining this genre and I liked every other asymm way more haha
I enjoyed F13, Evil Dead, Chainsaw and Killer Clowns infinitely more than I've ever enjoyed this game to date.
I also do not care about any stats BHVR publishes, there are multiple factors that show the stats are skewed, if we even are to take them at face value anyway because BHVR could just be fabricating all the stats regardless, but that's another topic entirely.
At the end of the day, BHVR has to literally trap people into matches because otherwise people don't want to be in them, that alone says everything that needs to be.

And I'm telling you, that you can't physically fix people just giving up because they give up over the dumbest things. That is what I don't think you understand. There is no fixing it.
This is a huge overstatement of the problem though.
People have always given up over "killer they didn't like" or "bad map" or "downed in 3 seconds". People have not become more petty over time.
The "go next" epidemic has gotten severely worse because of game balance changes. Period. The devs have openly, explicitly, and deliberately spent 3 years now to increase the kill rates. Survivors are, objectively, dying more often than before.
And, honestly, that wouldn't be a problem by itself. It's absolutely possible to make it so that playing a match where you don't escape can still be fun. DBD used to be that way.
But in the pursuit of making the game objectively more lethal for survivors, they've removed a lot of the "fun" aspects. Unfortunately, they've made the survivor experience more hopeless in the process.
And any of the issues that could help lessen that burden are put on the back burner. Literally. Phase 2 is the "anti camp, anti tunnel, anti slug" portion of the qol changes, and "not getting to actually play the match" has been a top complaint of survivors for about ten years now. These issues have also objectively been getting worse as they continue to "increase kill rates" through map, tile, and pallet reworks, reduced chase times, removing stealth as a play style (in their "hide and seek game"), and forcing more reliance on your teammates.
No, instead of addressing any of those issues, their first priority is "anti go next", with the "promise" that maybe, some day they might look into the core reasons why those matches are hopeless. At least, until people burn the forums down over the next few months and they backtrack most of phase 2, (which people have already started posting on the forums with this goal in mind).
Eh DBD was never a fun game to "die in" like other asymm games. DBD was always and continues to be built off the back of spite and salt. Every match is based around what you can do to make the other party miserable and deny them gameplay and BHVR only continues to add to it. In contrast to other asymm games where the power role is viewed as the match facilitator in which to cultivate fun, in DBD it's just viewed as a way to make small people feel big for a brief moment.
The refusal to balance SWF, to balance SoloQ, to balance Killers, but they focus on continuing to rework maps so that you can see all four corners at all times while constantly adding Killers that have insane map traversal. The refusal to add voice comms so that an actual community and accountability could be garnered; the refusal to actually decide if their game is serious enough to warrant +72hr DC penalties, but they don't even have a functioning MMR system. The list goes on and on.

The going next prevention as well as other changes are going to kill the game. People already don't want to play SoloQ as most SoloQ matches have Killers tunneling/camping/slugging at 5 gens with SoloQ teammates crapping on eachother throughout because the match is so unfun. Instead, BHVR focuses on ways to trap players into a match they don't want to be in, when the entire point of a video game is to have fun. Fun doesn't always equate to winning, it equates to having an enjoyable experience which this game fails at if you're not in a SWF.
BHVR also keeps streamlining every aspect of the game to where Survs have no agency anymore and most of the game is spent being locked out of moving. I mean, this entire patch is really only targeting SoloQ and it's not like SoloQ needs anymore nerfs, it's already easy mode for Killer. Same with Killers, all new Killers are insta taking Surv health states paired with some for of fast map traversal on already small nerfed maps.
BHVR needs to focus on making the gameplay loop enjoyable and getting rid of the overkill DC penalty. This is a party game with quick matches, there is no logical reason to have a dc penalty system that goes beyond 72hrs and takes 24hrs to de-escalate timers.

My friend and I were just talking about how 2v8 really highlights just how much of a slog the regular mode is now. 2v8 is so much more fun on both sides. I would be down for hooks to go away and become cages in regular mode. It would help mitigate camping and tunneling since you don't know where/when it happens. (you could find them obviously but have the cage move)
Going back to regular mode is just… unbearable right now with Ghoul players being Ghoul players and just certain aspects that felt so nice in 2v8 not being available in regular mode and I prefer killer role. I would gladly play 2v8 exclusively if it was a regular mode, even as killer.
Don't even need cages for something like that, just have whatever hook the Killer puts a Surv on teleports in place of another hook on the map. So a Surv has less of a chance of getting camped and tunneled off hook and so if Killers want to camp/tunnel then they really need better time management/dedication to it, increasing the chances of Survs being able to counter it.

Realistically how often do you hit people map wide? I doesn’t really matter that huntress has more hatchets, his cooldown is very short and hitting with is not that hard, just takes a bit getting used to it. Additionally he is huntress moving at 4.6 m/s.
Also, are people forgetting that Huntress is currently OP with the amount of hatchets she has? She didn't need a hatchet count buff in the first place so debating over comparisons to Huntress are kind of mute since Huntress needs a nerf and what should happen (which benefits multiple Killers) is better locker placement on maps.
-
It's not even really "chase ability" anymore. They've watered it down to just insta hits and teleporting lmao Something to keep the low skilled engaged in order to sell DLC. IDK how anyone supports it, especially with how awfully nerfed all the maps have been. Like do we need mobility Killers on all these map reworks where you can see all four corners of every map? No. Mobility was something needed on the old map designs and really should be Killer dependent.
-
New players that are just going to leave and it's not because of the optional chat that can be turned off, it's because the game balance is dogshit. They also definitely clog up player numbers with bots to inflate it, I see the same accounts every time that I play, hell I'm getting matched in 2v8 with the same Killer teammate half the time.

Every game I seem to be facing a legion that simply injures every survivor while the second killer quickly downs them ( usually being spirit, blight or oni) and suddenly everyone is on death hook and in deep wound since they can simply keep running around the map with no real downside since it stays infinite.
Yea except when I play. Two games back to back I picked Huntress and got a Legion who never used their power once. I was the only one who was hooking while the legions were doing squat. At this point I think there is anti-mmr, I'm being paired with people who are worse than bots, on both sides.
-
The reveal mechanic is pretty trash, from every aspect. In 2v8 I'm getting revealed so fast and if there's a bot in the match it needs to be tunneled out asap or you're not going to be able to even use your power. Playing against him, half the time he's not even getting knocked out of his power when I'm directly staring at him as he's stalking someone. The entire mechanic needs a gloss up and for 2v8 he needs buffs.
-
Same as normal queue. If I play Solo Surv, abysmal teammates that go down without even a chase tbh, every second someone is going down and we can't really get past 5 gens. No one is doing gens, no one is even rescuing hooks or even healing; they're all running around like roaches afraid of the light (heartbeat). Oh and when they actually do touch a gen, they fail the skill checks, like it's worse than bots.
Then I play Killer and no matter what, it's full stacks of SWF's that are taking hits, utilizing and repairing every single pallet after it's broken, and slamming gens.
Also, there's a ton of cheating going on rn as well. As Killer I watch Survs jetpack away without any indication of the team skill. Hell I had one match as Legion where even in frenzy the Survs were somehow outrunning me for 15 seconds and I played a few rounds of Oni, forget about it, I was getting literally outrun by Survs lol Then I notice some Killers cheat as well, perfect mode to play with aura hacks as the mode almost constantly gives aura reading.
-
Yea he's actually kind of useless, like a worse wraith. I played a few games with him and the only one where I actually was kinda able to use his power was when I was paired with a Deathslinger. I would expose them after the slinger hooked someone and was reeling them in, but even then stalking takes so abysmally long that it was a close call most times if I could reveal before the reel finished.
He needs further buffs, from stalking taking less time, to more base speed boosts and the reveal mechanic needs an overhaul for this gamemode since there's too many Survs running around. I'd be fine with the exposed being the current amount of time if they buffed his reveal so he doesn't get knocked out of it every milisecond.

Some people just want to face a killer who can't really do anything.
I think most people just want to be able to play the game. So are you saying Kaneki is balanced?

Did you copy-paste this from somewhere?
I feel like I've seen the exact thread somewhere else already.
No it's just the common consensus and also commons sense. Most people who can critically think can easily pinpoint the issues with him within the current game design and how to fix it. Though I guess BHVR needs to hit a profit quota before anything meaningful.

It's a non-starter. I'd rip SWF out of the game if it was designed just for my enjoyment, but there is no chance BHVR will ever treat SWFs differently than soloq.
SWF should be in the game, they should just have limits since the game wasn't designed around the Survs having so much info. BHVR indeed won't touch them though, but their game will continue to suffer and no amount of other changes will actually do anything positive. Oh well though
-
Killers don't need buffs to compensate, SWF need nerfs and for their gameplay to be altered when queuing with friends, that's all. Any buffs to Killers just negate any changes made to tunneling/camping/slugging so the issue will still be present, as it always is. People will downvote this because SWF mustn't be touched, even if it's at the complete detriment to the entire rest of the game, but that's the only way to start achieving some actual balance for the health of the game.
-
Pretty bad idea, most of this game is DLC and it would make no sense to purchase something and then not be able to play it because everyone had it on a ban list. Kaneki is an awful Killer, but that doesn't meant hat Kaneki players should never be able to find a match since most people would have it banned, it means that BHVR should actually balance the game.
However, BHVR has no interest in actually balancing the game and so players are stuck with what we are stuck with, a subpar asymm game built off the back of established IP's with a priority for DLC instead of community. Oh well, is what it is.
-
He'd be okay if they nerfed him a lot more, the Killer takes literal 0 skill to use and is overkited, still, despite the "nerfs". His power cancel needs a huge nerf.
I find Kaneki players getting 4ks when they literally don't even actually know how to play with the fundamentals. They all easily fall for mindgames, run around like a chicken with their head cut off, making all kinds of mistakes that would cost other Killers an entire gen, yet because of their mobility they easily are always right ontop of you or spreading mapwide pressure.

TuTunneling doesn't work against smart teams. You have a 70 second hook, if the killer is camping you have 3 gens done, then if he tunnels and you last in chase more than 30 seconds (very easy to do) it'll mean 2 more gens done by the time he hooks you.
90% of survivor problems are solved by just doing the gens.
That's antiquated with all the gen regression perks that Killers use as well as how matches aside from SWF play out. So no, almost always, three gens are not getting done while someone is on a hook with the Killer camping, you know as well as I do why that is.

No mither should just be reworked.
Modern DBD does not need a "challenge perk". Builds where no mither is actually useful are almost always infuriating builds that involve around making yourself unhookable so reworking it would be losing nothing of value.
I propose that it should have a benefit actually befitting its horrendous downside. Something like any perk that has an activation requirement or token syatem, starts the trial activated or with 1 additional token. Making it the ultimate synergy perk with a massive downside.
Yea it should be reworked, from the first millisecond of the match the perk is apparent to everyone, which defeats the entire purpose of the perk lol

no game ever had MMR visible, why would dbd have it lol
Huh, most games show their MMR lmao Most PVP games have visible ranks or have no discernable SBMM. Even DBD at first showed MMR, because MMR was your season rank and so you were going to be matched with that unless you were player SWF. DBD wouldn't do it currently because it would just highlight how they actually don't use any sort of SBMM lol

I love that No Mither is in Chaos Shuffle, and I mostly play survivors. Why? Because it adds to the randomness, chaos and fun. Yes, fun. But I get that no everyone shares that view.
If you'd further dissect Chaos Shuffle, you might argue that you get Sprint Burst with another exhaustion perks, and the former renders the latter useless. But that's the point of the chaos of randomness. I personally enjoy it.
No it doesn't, unless you're in a SWF, so that probably makes sense for you. In real matches, in SoloQ, it's just getting you tunneled out at 5 gens, literally that's all. In fact, it literally makes it so you'd have been better off not even loading into the game. No one needs to "further dissect" chaos shuffle, a lame perk that immediately broadcasts what it is by REMOVING an entire health state, is just piss poor event design and tbh, piss poor perk design. The entire perk should get a rework, but in this state, it shouldn't appear in chaos shuffle.
