I think I understand the point you are trying to make? Yes - There are definitely a lot of killers who will try to get a "W" by any means necessary, even if it means toxic and unfun playstyles. I don't think this is every killer though (we don't have 100% of the killer base playing nurse with iri-add-ons, lol). Seems to be anecdotal. Most of my issues with the game right now are direct faults of developers action to cater to the minority of their playerbase. It'd be cool if there was a culture shift and recognizing that this is unhealthy for the longevity of the game.

Uhhh we don't have everyone playing Nurse with iri add-ons because the game literally fosters no-skill wins so there's no reason to when Nurse takes more skill than any of the last five Killers that have released combined. As we can see by the playerbase, they will do whatever is the easiest and most rewarding, no matter what.

  • RN? There really isn't one. New broken killer aside, who's only goal is to get people buying cells to purchase her or to grind away for shards to inflate player numbers, the game is pretty awful for Survs rn. Nerfing Surv perks while scrapping the anti-tunneling/slugging system they were going to implement, ontop of buffing some killer perks, the game is digustingly awful to play.

I truly would love to see the Devs livestream their 4man SWF matches against pub Killers, would truly love to see it. I bet they don't even have the stomach to sit through 5 matches doing that, and even less so if they were to play SoloQ.

Basically, I’d rather smooth out the rough edges than redesign him into a totally new killer. Otherwise we risk losing what makes Trapper… well, Trapper.

I’ve thought about ideas like telekinetic trap placement too, but honestly it doesn’t really fit his character or the cold, brutal vibe he gives off. For me, that kind of power feels out of place with his design and personality.

His power is antiquated, there's no smoothing out the rough edges, he's clunky and obsolete being the first killer, he's from a totally different era of DBD, he definitely need's a total redesign to fit in with DBD in 2025. With traps materializing in-front of Survs, there'd be more engaging counter play that allows for skill expression while keeping the killer engaging, no more placing traps alone in some corner and running around to collect them, wasting time. There's no reason he can't remain brutal and cold with that type of power, just give him a cool animation when he's looking to place a trap to cue Survs into seeing what he's up to mid-chase.

  • Get rid of the manual placing of traps all together and streamline his power. He can recall and set traps at a distance via aura on the ground and recall them at distance similar to how other killers select their objects in power, which would allow him to stop mid-chase to place down a trap somewhere block a surv.

  • Lmao the "mmr". There is no MMR. You're seeing SWF's because that's all the game is now, unless you play SoloQ Surv then you are the outlier here. Most matches are against SWF's at every "mmr" rank because BHVR ruined SoloQ into almost nonexistence. Maybe after 10 SWF you'll get a rando match that feels like taking food from a baby, but otherwise, no.

  • Because the game has outgrown the initial design and is failing at almost every single aspect of actual gameplay, but continues to be propped up by license accrual, that's why. BHVR has refused to actually balance the game and create new mechanics/fix old ones that aren't serving the game or the community, just so they can keep selling DLC's to keep their studio afloat. I mean why do you think that every single other game they've created has been a financial flop? Because they really aren't good Devs and got lucky being one of the first "horror" asymms and the first to use established IP's.

I mean you stated it yourself, why is tunneling/slugging/camping frowned upon when it's the most optimal playstyle? Because it removes the core gameplay experience for Suvrs the same way that SWF ruin the core gameplay experience for Killer. Sure, both are playing optimally, but that's because BHVR has refused to create a new game design to update the game to keep in line all the content that has been released.

  • @BbQz said:

Boogie man swf is always silly the numbers don't lie. And at absolute best you have a fair match of 50/50 vs a swf but really it's much lower.

What numbers? The numbers BHVR releases themselves? Okay lmao Anyone with two eyes and who plays this game knows that SWF are a problem and SoloQ is atrocious, who cares what pr numbers BHVR releases. Honestly.

  • For 4v1 it's unplayable. The game and all the design choices are miserable and promote the worst aspects of pvp gaming imaginable. If Survs even get so much as an edge, the Killer usually DC's, meanwhile they almost all are slugging/camping/tunneling to make the match as awful as possible. Not to mention how often someone will throw the match and then what? The game is over and already a waste of time, yet everyone else is trapped in it because BHVR likes to force trash gameplay styles over any sort of community.

2v8 should honestly be permanent and 4v1 should be rehauled to mimic SWF, every single match should have SWF level of cooperation through in-game mechanics, especially voice comms and player loadouts in the lobby. Then half of this none sense wouldn't even be an issue.

  • No, It favors SWF and then Killers, but only some of the roster, others are left to rot.

  • I mean what do you expect OP? BHVR caters to Killers and SWF, they don't care about the overall Surv experience that anyone who plays SoloQ and even in a 2 man SWF, often deals with. I'd love to see a Devs stream themselves playing 10 random games of SoloQ in the pubs back to back, but they won't because we'd end up seeing them rage quit from their own game lol

  • Fewer trajectories for a match? Every single match of SoloQ is the exact same. Killer tunnels/camps/slugs when they don't need to, so that the game is put into easy mode for them so they can exert some sort of power fantasy that they lack in their real life.

This update isn't going to revitalize this game anyway, so it really doesn't matter. SWF continue to ruin the game for every other party involved and BHVR refuses to address that so they keep watering down the entire game to uphold the group that spends the most money to keep their lame studio afloat.

The increased pressure of the trial. Again, anecdotal, but there was always a lull period during the trial in the past where Survivors could feasibly run a totem build and clear them all without a heavily elevated risk of losing. That was a thing all the way up to 6.1.0 (though less so the year before when MMR was introduced). BHVR has implemented new features to make totems and chests more attractive, but not a whole lot to allow players to interact with them enough to not risk a 4k.

That's just scoring events as well. If we're talking autonomy as a whole, there's the amount of time you spend doing nothing while slugged or on hook (with anti-go next removing even more interactions from hook), the lack of comeback mechanics, very little presence during endgame, etc.

You're right tho. I used to run builds as Surv that was focused on chests, but then some years back the game changed for the worst and there wasn't any time anymore in SoloQ to rummage through a chest. It got so bad that even BHVR decreased the time it takes to open a chest, but in SoloQ it's still barely feasible especially since aside from most Killers being OP, they run lethal (a perk that should have never been added) and are not only ontop of Survs seconds in to the match, but hook someone shortly thereafter to usually proc another aura reading perk. There is no time in matches anymore to do anything but gens while Killers cry about "gen rushing".

But none of that was what I was referring to. I was referring to when a Survivor purposefully leads a Killer past a hook.

If you had read my whole post instead of skimming, you'd know that.

Yea you were referring to your own imaginary argument instead of what I stated, verbatim.

  • @LockerLurk said:

The problem with this is if it worked this way, people could lead Killers to hook in chase to trigger a false flag and get their friend off the hook for free. That's not camping. Chasing someone else around the hook is not camping that hook no matter how hard people want it to be, if the Killer is doing ANYTHING ELSE BESIDES HOVERING AROUND THE HOOK AND GUARDING IT, it by definition isn't camping the hook.

Kicking gens nearby, breaking pallets, in chase with someone else, contesting an unhook they noticed, patrolling an area they have under control because of bad Survivor play or just good spawn luck, reloading their power, using their power around a hook, etc. is not camping the hooked Survivor.

Camping hooks is only, and only ever has been, the act of hovering around a hooked Survivor for the sole purpose of preventing anyone from getting the unhook, or to make unhooking as hard as possible for Survivors. It can be, and is, and should be, punished by just doing gens until the Killer gets bored and leaves, and now by anti facecamp (which let's say it for the people in the back, is anti FACECAMP not anticamp and thus it working only when the Killer is FACECAMPING is the mechanic working correctly).

Chasing someone around the hook and stopping chase once the Surv leaves the hook area in favor to sit a meter outside the radius, is camping, it doesn't matter how many times you people try to talk about whataboutisms, it's camping and should be deterred/penalized. It's literally a core issue with the game rn, that and tunneling/slugging. Also it's not getting someone off hook for free, it's still taking a hook stage from that Surv.

This isn't 2016, doing gens is not countering camping unless you're in a SWF, SoloQ is not coordinated enough for that because BHVR refuses to balance the two very different Surv roles, so things need to change. Otherwise it's really trivial to even be on a discussion about SoloQ Survs Dcing because it seems like most of you aren't really interested in solving it, just interested in tacking on more obscure DC penalty requirements which will lead to nothing but inflated wait times and more SWFs to face.

I'd welcome someone actually trying to discuss what can be done, not low brow replies about literally nothing… meanwhile here I go facing the 300th lethal pursuer blight this week that hooks someone 10 seconds into the match and then just camps hook to slug anyone that gets close or the 150th Billy who just revs his chainsaw directly outside the radius, waiting. Maps are tiny, gens are cramped, gen times have been increased, there are a plethora of perks to halt gens and slow them down even more. If someone is being camped at 5 gens before a 3rd of a single gen is completed in SoloQ, the match is cooked and that's quite often what is happening, which lead to people "going next".

I'll say this, it's been great rn with the DC penalty being removed :)

  • @Rogue11 said:

if every killer gets teleports and map mobility we can revert to old map sizes instead of trying to shove 7 gens in the wendy's parking lot, right? because the whole rationale for making maps tiny and terrible was "muh m1 killers".

BHVR really should have made map size dependent on the Killer or class of Killer. Killers with high mobility needs larger maps and Killers with next to zero mobility need smaller maps. The game will never be balanced having the same map sizes for Blight/Nurse/Kaneki and Trapper/Doctor/Really any M1 Killer.

You mentioned filling the bar even when in chase. Thats completely different than a killer just standing near a hook. If a killer does what YOU said and doesnt actually chase ppl, the chase mechanic will turn off after afew seconds. Theres no reason for the bar to fill while a killer is actively engaged in a chase, just because the survivor being chased doesnt want to leave the hook area.

Filling the bar even when there is a "chase" around the hooked Surv, like right around it because the killer is camping. The bar absolutely should fill even when there is a "chase" directly next to the hook, I stated replies ago why it should be in the game, but you chose to ignore that and type literal nonsense as if you were having a convo with yourself lol

If the killer is sitting at a hook and not chasing, thats obviously not the same thing as chasing near a hook. Please stop lumping them together. Im not talking about a killer being by the hook not in a chase... im talking about the killer actively chasing ppl who have full control of where they can run to.

What are you even talking about lol This is literally what most Killers do, they stand around the hook area and take chase around it to ward off Survs and then continue standing around the hook; the anti camp meter is a complete joke and needs a rehaul, especially now that hook attempts have been removed aside from perk or one offering. BHVR did announce they were going to be looking at anti-camping, so I would bet that reworking the anti-camp meter would be the easiest thing for them to do.

If I have 3 ppl swarming a downed teammate after the first down, does it really matter if its at the start of the match or the end? The counter to sabo/pallet/flashlight saves is slugging and trying to down the rescuer. Once again, as long as a hook can be denied, slugging has its place. If that happens after the first down before any gens are done... so be it. Your asking to remove the inherent risk of these plays. The worst thing that can happen if someone attempts a flashlight save for survivors is they go down and now 2 ppl are down. If they just keep popping up and only 1 person is allowed down at once... there's 0 risk.

As for the self unhook, if a killer is camping a hook, the game doesnt see them as in chase. If a survivor gets in chase and leaves the hook, but the killer doesnt... they're no longer in chase. We are talking about a 3 second period here. We're talking about an extended chase around hook.

Yea I mean, you're citing a very hyper specific scenario that wouldn't even gain a benefit from almost anything I suggested anyway, so it really doesn't matter. What matters are the Killers who are tunneling/camping/slugging from the jump in matches that deny Survs (often SoloQ) any sort of interaction, not hyper specific SWF moments that again could be counteracted in many many different ways lol

Also no. Very often Killers will just sit a few meters away priming up to down anyone that goes for the unhook. Survs get in view and try to bait them, it doesn't work or they take chase around the hook until the Survs get away and then they just go back to standing a few meters away. It is often complained about and it literally is what happens in most SoloQ matches. Look, I'm just explaining why Survs were exiting their matches and why they still do exit their matches and why they will keep exiting their matches. BHVR further punishing Survs and taking away player agency to force them to stay in matches, isn't treating the real issue here and it's made the game worse.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3966258#Comment_3966258

They're never going to add a SWF only penalty. As far as widening the autounhook range while making it fill while the killer is in chase... The killer really doesnt have much ability of directing where the chase is. If your teammates insist on looping shack while you're in basement instead of taking the chase elsewhere, thats hardly a reason to punish the killer by filling the bar.

As far as the basekit unbreakable thing...again, slugging is the intended counter things like flashlights and Sabo that works to prevent hooking. If I down the would be rescuer, thats hardly a reason for the first person to get up and take the role of rescuer. As long as there's things to deny hooking, slugging has a place.

If BHVR was smart they would change SWF, even something as simple as not allowing duplicate perks.

The Killer often camps the hook and doesn't take chase, just keeps the Survs from getting close while the game registers it as a "chase" and so the meter doesn't fill, not that it even fills relatively fast anyway. It definitely should be changed to where you can unhook yourself if your teammates are keeping the Killer occupied around the hook as the camping meter should continue to fill for a self unhook before 2nd stage, that would punish camping which is something this game needs early on.

Yea idk, this isn't 2019 lol I have never in recent years been denied a hook because of a sabo since hooks are littered everywhere lol Oh they sabod that one hook, okay I'll walk to the one 10m away and as far as flashlights go, again, maybe an initial attempt to blind if I pickup carelessly but really you can easily smack the lurker and get them to go away. So really no, in very coordinated SWF's there sure is a risk of hook denial, but not in typical matches and certainly not in SoloQ, unless the Killer is being super careless in which they should get punished.

Again, slugging/camping/tunneling has a place in the game, but it shouldn't be at the start of the match.

So overall, no, I disagree with you on everything. It seems you just would like the game to remain an unbalanced mess since you benefit from it, which is your choice after all, though not a very good one.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3966211#Comment_3966211

What kind of punishment are you thinking about? Ppl have a tendency of forgetting that slugging is also the correct counter to flashlight saves and such. I had a full team essentially kill themselves afew weeks ago because they REALLY wanted to deny my 2nd hook of the game.

A few off the top of my head. Can be as simple as gen repair buffs that start if a Surv is on the hook a 2nd time consecutively that increases exponentially if the next Surv meets the same fate; which could also really counteract those nasty 3v1s that Killers crave at 5 gens. Survs being able to pick themselves up off the ground. The camping meter getting reworked, not only increasing in speed but with a wider radius around the hook as well as not stopping just because the Killer is in chase with another Surv next to it. I mean there's a ton of different ways to go about it.

All of that stuff can be used tactfully at certain points of the match, but lets not pretend like that time is at 5 gens or even 4, yet that's what most Killers are aiming for. So I think when there are 3 or 2 gens left, the penalties should cease since it's understandable why a Killer could have the need for camping/tunneling/slugging to apply pressure, but not prior to that before anyone has had a chance to actually play, which in SoloQ is what I see more often than not.

I also think another core issue here, is that whatever changes BHVR makes to SoloQ, can lead to rampant abuse with SWF's, which is why I'm always advocating for direct mechanic changes to SWF to further balance out the game.

  • @UnicornMedal said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3966182#Comment_3966182

The issues wouldn't disappear, but it really is necessary to not punish players too heavily with the game in the state it currently is. It's high risk, no reward play. Going next became a problem overnight due to that sort of logic. Punishing it without balancing the game is just more of the same. Thankfully it was scaled back, but it still went in the wrong direction.

And I agree about it being very one-sided. It did/does punish Killer as well, but they were never the primary target and were therefore not punished the same. We'll see how phase 2 goes.

Yea, I agree. BHVR's gonna need to really put some effort into it as well otherwise the game will just bleed SoloQ players and not only will Killers have longer wait times, but an increased chance of only facing SWF's. The game really isn't viable for SoloQ play rn. Really BHVR should have a system set up that heavily punishes Killers for slugging/camping/tunneling at the start of the match, but once two or three gens are done all penalties cease to exist so it can be used as a legitimate tactic later in the match if need be.

  • It's almost like, removing hook struggle didn't fix the core issues with the game lol Wow shocker, I am so shocked that removing Surv agency even more hasn't worked out. Most of my SoloQ games someone DC's and when I play Killer, doesn't matter what Killer, I know they're SoloQ when eventually one of them DC's.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3966172#Comment_3966172

Sure. We're talking about a game that has a largely adult audience, no ranked mode, and a small comp scene. Why go scorched earth on leaving what's ultimately a casual game? There's a disconnect there.

Exactly, but this playerbase is mostly comprised of actual trolls who want to force others to play with them, that's literally it. There is no logical reason why a party game with no sbmm with matches that are intended to last 5-10 mins should even have a DC penalty, let alone one that goes beyond 2 minutes. Half the games issues would disappear if there was no DC penalty.

people tunnel because its the most efficient way to play. making a different playstyle more efficient would reduce the amount of tunnelling (though i dont think OPs idea would make spreading hooks any more efficient really)

Tunneling is the most efficient way to play because it's a low effort low skilled way to sway the game that most Survs cannot combat since it removes a ton of player agency, it completely decimates SoloQ and was a driving factor in Survs literally killing themselves on hook. Giving Killers any sort of buffs to "reward" them for not tunneling is not going to dissuade people from doing it and is going to greatly help Killers that already don't do it and don't need it.

You make a playstyle less efficient by literally penalizing certain actions so it isn't the easiest most low skilled way to dominate a match. Really, a better solution would be to do exactly what OP describes but in opposite, Killers tunneling or camping buff Surv gen speeds so gens can get done quicker. That would incentivize them to leave the hook and go after others, not giving them buffs they already don't need.

  • No. What is honestly with you people suggesting buffs to Killers who don't tunnel, most Killers do it to be toxic and to have easy games. They don't care about bloodpoints or anything other than making other people miserable or incredibly easy games. Crazy idea, how about BHVR hard punishes camping and tunneling by offering nothing besides penalties to the Killer if they do it? I bet that would curb it.

I am seriously baffled because my matches feel sometimes so unbalanced like yeah i get people that cant progress further gens, then i get a squad that plays like NAVY seals.

Like yes myers known weakness is he lacks mobility but not to that extent they manage to do to me when i can handle it pretty well againts most matches.

It has to do with getting 3kills consistantly over matches and then it puts u really really high

Well it's worse if you play both roles. The SoloQ in this game is the most miserable gaming experience in all of gaming. Nonstop comp Blights/Billy/Nurse (They all use Lethal) who slugs everyone 30 seconds into the match when a gen hasn't even been touched. Like okay, why am I in SoloQ but getting paired against P100 Killers who do that? Yet then I play any Killer and all I get are a amalgamation SWF squads with matching names and costumes who bring their best tools and all have identical perks lol

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

Just ask the people who come here claiming that killer is way too easy but survivor is way too hard. They should be able to provide plenty of instructional gameplay video to show us all how to easily beat down survivor teams.

Killer is easy, SWF is just easier. There isn't two sides to this game, there's three and that's the core reason why this game is a miserable mess and why BHVR will never do anything notable after this gravy train has finally run out. SWF's completely dominate Killer, Killer completely dominates SoloQ and the matchmaking does nothing but add salt to the wound while BHVR ruins all Surv gameplay because of how OP SWF can get.

  • @Mr_K said:

They didn't force you to quit, you chose to quit. If a killer is tunneling you then the game will be over very quick for you. Hasting that is just hurting yourself over ego.

Not true at all, especially with BHVR removing going next. There have been dozens of games so far where I've been held hostage in the match by a toxic Killer and a toxic Surv who is being toxic to teammates to exert some control over the match that the Killer is ruining. So much so that I often alt tab and play a different game on PC in the meantime. To think, BHVR disabled the system that would have given out DC penalties to Survs who get tunneled out too fast or who die with afk crows over them.

The real hurt to ego is Killer mains who act like making the match miserable for other players is their god given right. It's never a shock to see how toxic a Killer plays, see they are a TTV and then going over to the TTV to see that they are in fact a mouth breather, clasping onto some form of exerting digital domination since they're lacking in their personal life.

  • No. With the state of the game and how awful SoloQ is, no.

Because the killer ping is all that matters. So being a good ping survivor you are punished by a bad ping killer and as a good ping killer you are "fair" but it feels unfair because of what happens to you when you play survivor.

Except that the Killers ping doesn't, as I stated when I'm playing Killer and I'm getting punished for Survs with worse ping. The game prioritizes high ping over low ping. If you have really great ping you're punished in this game.

  • @DeBecker said:

Lets be honest, you already get this hits if the killer has 60 ping, which is much more ridiculous. And I just remind you that killers always have priority.

They don't because when I play Killer and have 30ms when I'm facing Survs that have +100ms, they never get hit at vaults and often I'm getting pallet stunned when I'm not even near the pallet. When I do down them, I watch their body teleport 2 meters in any direction because of how bad their ping is. Yet when I'm Surv with 30ms playing against Killers with +100ms, I'm getting hit through vaults I'm nowhere near anymore and I'm getting hit through pallet stuns.

  • @Lixadonna said:

But yet the game is balanced around these %.

They aren't even a small percentage. Every Killer that I play, whether it's a brand new one I just bought or one I haven't touched in years, majority of my matches are against SWF's. I rarely get 4 random Solo's. If SWF's were such a small portion, then BHVR would nerf them no problem and wouldn't revolve the game around them, but BHVR tries to placate everyone by stating that they aren't a large portion of the playerbase and so they don't need to be uniquely reworked, but then balance the game around them making SoloQ a true horror show (and not in a good way).

  • @DeBecker said:

I probably havent even had so many cheaters in all my 8 years of playing dbd. But yeah the report system is trash.

How? I've seen 5 alone this week as teammates lol Insta healing from across the map as well as some have been outright invisible lol I get them constantly in SoloQ.

  • Lack of competitiveness? The game is literally treated as if it's an esports with the incredibly stupidly harsh DC penalties and the plethora of ultra punishing game mechanics, especially with how recently BHVR has prioritized forcing others to stay in matches to waste their time.

The game shouldn't be competitive, since it's a party game that's supposed to have quick matches. Yet SWF's and Killers play as if their family is tied up in a basement somewhere with their future dependent on the match outcome.

How far away from hooks should killers be forced to go to make you happy? What if they hook someone, leave, turn around and see one or two survivors rush in for the save? Should there be some force field to keep killers from coming back to go after those survivors?

A forcefield lmao No, the anti camp meter should just progress quicker and should keep progressing not only even if the Killer is chasing someone else around the hook, but also the range should be extended heavily and depend on the proximity. Okay, the Killer wants to stand 16m away? Well now that Surv will unhook themselves since the entity is displeased with the power role playing like a turd.

This isn't 2016 where Survs can just gen rush the camping Killer, there is a plethora of gen perks for Killers to halt progress and they don't even need to camp, like lets be forreal. Almost all new killers have insane map traversal to where they're back at the hook 5 seconds after an unhook when they were just on the other side of these small maps.

You want nerfs for the top because you don't like them. Your proposals are to stop the killers from being played not to make them "fair".

No, I want nerfs because those Killers are op and lack proper counters. Then I want the plethora of lower tier Killers, buffed and reworked. Let's be completely honest as well, Blight/Nurse/Kaneki have boring powers and gameplay loops, in part because of the lack of counters and interaction. The lower tier Killers are so much more fun to face and that's not because they suck, most of them do really well, especially in SoloQ (which is what I play with Surv), but because interacting with their powers is more engaging and they also have counters that can be utilized if played correctly.

Nurse truly is just blink hit blink down 10 seconds into the match. Blight ofc will run lethal and down someone in again, 10 seconods. Kaneki is just a lame Killer with lame powers for lame people, the hitscan proves that. They also are some of the most toxic players in the game, mainly Blight and Nurse, they often slug and tunnel because they're upset no one wants to participate in their little power trip ego boost.

So again, they need nerfs/reworks and the lower tier Killers need to be buffed. Buff all Killers to their level and the game will be dead, Killer wait times will be incredibly long and no bloodpoint incentives will get Surv players to stay, people are barely staying in matches as it is.

  • There's a lot of cheating. I play SoloQ and I'm constantly getting paired with Survs who are outright cheating, but really the Killer would have no clear idea. A lot of teleporting and A LOT of cheating Survs who heal me when they aren't even near me, but I can see that they're healing me because of the hud. On the other side, I notice a lot of sketchy stuff with Killers and they'll often use perks to cover it up, but lots of Killers are hacking Surv Auras.

They usually always deny in the end chat. Like dude, I got healed magically when I was at one gate and you were at the other, yet I watched the hud and you had the healing icon around yours and it healed me in 2 seconds lmao

What would you buff about Trapper? When people bring up this "gap" between killers they always wanting to nerf the top but not raise the bottom. You at least said buff the bottom but how?

Odd that you would bring up Billy. When people talked about Nurse being #1, Billy was always #2. What you are asking them to do with the top is what the did to Billy. Face it, survivors don't want strong killers. Any killer we get that's above average is called broken and demanded to be nerf. Trapper is not the low end. It's what they want as normal.

You can raise the bottom and nerf the top. Nurse needs a rework where she has to not only work for her blinks, but can't use them at the start. Blight needs his base speed nerfed and he needs his add-ons nerfed. Ghoul needs to have his hitscan health state bull to be reworked as as well as power cancelling nerfs since he truly is a Killer for imbeciles.

"Survs don't want strong Killers" or how about Survs don't want Killers that make the game unwinnable 30 seconds into the match, but then drag the match on for 5 more miserable minutes so that they can farm for bloodpoints for themselves.

What im hearing is your teammates went full blown seal team 7 to do everything they could do to ensuring that first guy died...including the 1st survivor who raced to the middle of the map to meet up with the killer ASAP. I can only imagine he used OoO and no mither in an attempt to save the killer time.

No, the one looping around shack was for sure a troll, but the 4th thought they were removing ruin. I'd say that two of them were completely incompetent and that one Ace, that was looping around shack, was just a troll. Though again, why should I be forced to sit on hook for the entire two hook stages and what, if I didn't struggle on the 2nd phase to stay in an awful match, I'd then be penalized for that? Who the ######### at BHVR thought that was an award winning idea.

How did the hag even get into a CHASE that fast? Game loads, she books it straight to the closest survivor in all her 4.4 speed glory without even taking time to place traps, got in a chase AND hit them twice in 10 seconds? I feel like you mightve had a speed hacker if this is true.

I believe the guy was baiting her right from the start, it was a coldwind map so really not that big and he ran into the middle of it immediately and then immediately went down. How he went down, I honestly have no clue. What was even worse was after she hooked and I lingered to get the save, the other guy started baiting a chase around the shack with her and about 15 seconds into it, the 4th teammate broke haunted grounds. So there was no way for me to try and get down there with all those traps or I'd be on hook basement too.

  • @xGodSendDeath said:

You can't punish people for playing with their friends!

Yea, you can only punish people who play Solo!

  • Sure is. I just had a game against a really bad hag that downed someone 10 seconds into the match and hooked them in basement, which I was nearby. She ofc placed down every trap she could to camp basement so I stayed and was going to wipe them away and rescue except that the other Surv decided to take chase with the hag around the basement. The dude gets to 2nd stage because the one Surv won't ######### off from chase around the shack, then last couple seconds finally leaves and takes hag with them.

I then go to the basement and wipe away 3 traps and she ofc comes to camp the last couple seconds so I just rush to unhook and tanked a hit from the last remaining trap down there and hook traded. Fine whatever, I'll hook trade, except that I then watched as no one even attempted to save me, the same dude who was running around shack prior, was running around it again with no one even doing gens. All 3 of them were just hovering around shack doing literally nothing. I sat there the entire hook stages. I stayed till endgame to tell them how trash they all are, which ofc they then just said that I was awful because I had 4k points, like yea no #########, I spent my entire match in the basement after one unhook that could have happened sooner if the other teammates weren't idiots. Even the guy who got to 2nd stage blamed it on me and didn't say a peep about the one player who was running around shack for minutes.

To remove player agency in DBD, a game that lacks any sort of actual MMR, is astounding. If players want to leave a match, let them leave. There shouldn't even be DC penalties beyond a few minutes at max, there's bots, lets these toxic players play with bots, I bet they'd change their gameplay extra quick when they stop interacting with other humans.

Trapping players into matches with other toxic players, a sure way to kill your game in the long run.

You went down first? There were four Coconut Scream Pies and one Lucky Lips offering. You go down first and when the killer goes away you attempt three times and die? What is wrong with you? I'm not even trying to kill you.

Next match stuck it through. Someone went down just as fast but no one gave up. Was it because there wasn't a luck offering? No one ran up to me trying to die. Maybe they were just stubborn and wouldn't give in to the toxicity.

I mean you're playing The Bugtronic. He's invisible coming out of doors, has a p2w skin and is glitched out to where you can't tell where he's aiming with his axe. Also look at your lame perks, running Lethal Persuer lol

Maybe start playing the Killer in a fun way and you won't have people trying to leave the match.

Honestly sounds like YOU are the one that doesn't know when and where to place your pods….

So then go do it lol Again, go play him and report back lol

  • The game is unbalanced so that's what the community gets. SWF stomps Killer, Killer stomps SoloQ. Not to mention the plethora of bugs that they refused to actually fix or address, especially the bugs with Springtrap or how they keep getting Surv gameplay to balance out SWF's which is ruining SoloQ.

I tried playing the anniversary event in SoloQ, miserable experience, so bad that BHVR should be embarrassed that this is what they have created. I load in and within 7 seconds, someone is down by a blight that clearly has lethal pursuer to immediately initiate a chase, no one has even touched a gen yet. I just DC'd because I know how those games go, we all know how they go and I'm not wasting my time. I see it's a ttv, so I check the ttv to see what they're like. Some whiny sounding middle aged man with no views talking to nobody because I was the only viewer, talking to an imaginary chat. I watched the rest of the Survs try to initiate a friendly game while the Blight just hooked them and then camped the hooks, at 5 gens, while then tunneling the Survs off hook. Someone else DC'd because of it, meanwhile this blight is saying things like "Should I start slugging them chat? Just kidding, of course I'm going to slug them haha". A match where not even a single gen was even worked on, where after I DC'd and then someone else did right after. Dude never took a moment to even contemplate that maybe he should ease up and relax the sweatfest.

Again, no viewers, certainly no chat. So I logged into my TTV account and commented on the stream about how this killer was playing like a real pos. You know what happened next? The whiny baby DC'd from the match after raging on stream about my comment, then ended their stream.

This is who DBD caters to, this is who DBD really is for, this is the playerbase BHVR has created. The lowest common denominators in gaming that play the game, not for fun or to facilitate fun, but to play only to make other players miserable so that they can feel good about themselves for 5 minutes.

The hell are you talking about? There's literally nothing you can do because it takes like half a second or less for the thing to lock onto you.

And keep in mind, if you completely throw the chase just trying to miraculously avoid the pod camera or completely leaving the tile, not only are you just giving singularity a free M1 hit, but he can just put down yet another camera to slipstream with you.

No, this isn't a "skill issue" on my part, this is overall broken killer design.

It's a literal skill issue. Go play him and report back how Survs deal with you lol Go ahead, place pods down mid chase and then go look into them, see how Survs act, not the trash Survs like you that stand in place for 5 seconds and get slipstream (that an emp can take away), but Survs that know how to counter him and know how to move around an object out of view. Literally.

Okay.. disable all relevant pods and THEN carry an EMP in hand always?

So… let's say we spend 5 seconds collecting an EMP ready to go, then spend 30 seconds printing the next one. Once that's ready, we take 10 seconds to run to the gen we want to do, disable the pods. Then we spend 10 seconds running back to the printer, and about another 12 seconds to run back with the other EMP.

We tap the gen for 3 seconds, and in the best case of all scenarios, Singularity has only begun to chase us now. He shoots a new pod near us, instantly tags us with slipstream. We use EMP, get rid of our slipstream and disable that pod. He puts down another pod and again instantly tags us with slipstream ….

So basically we've wasted like 52 seconds for nothing.

Which as I said before, you have to know where to loop to avoid getting tagged by pods if he's placing them down mid chase. It really comes down to some of you not understanding and certainly not willing to even try to learn how to counter him. He's a strong Killer, but he by no means needs a nerf or base kit change rn and he definitely isn't the strongest Killer in the game lol

Whats is so hard about understand my post? You as singularity go for three gen, put two biopods there while range of EMP won't be able to disable both and you will constantly pushing people from those gens with massive passive slowdown and across maps, pair that with DMS and perks like surge and you can't lose as killer, it's impossible. Same with gates you put biopod on one side, second biopod on other side, so they again need two emps, you tag someone, tp there and either replace biopods or down someone, pair that with remember me and terminus and again you can't lose in that scenario, not even saying that gates can spawn in same corner, which is just a bonus because Sing is macro killer.

Yea, but what you do (Which also it's your entire fault if you get three genned anyway, but still winnable) is disable all relevant pods and carry an emp in hand always, when he sees you through a disabled pod then bait him to constantly come and kick the gen. If you're all doing that, he can't overcommit to a chase and will constantly be looking through disabled pods to get feedback while manually traveling across the map. I've done this and have had this done against me.

You bait and bait, if he chases he would need to place down a pod to tag you as the others should be disabled, so the emp in your hand is then used to remove splipstream when you so choose so he has to tag you again. It takes cooperation from Survs and understanding his power and what it can and cannot do, where to loop. Again, it just seems that the people who take issue with him, are people who really don't know how to play him.

Singularity doesn't require any setup for his chase power either. It's easy. Find survivor. Place pod at loop or ahead of where they are running. Shoot them with slipstream. Teleport to survivor ad infinitum. Windows and pallets literally mean nothing now, and no matter how badly you get outplayed, it doesn't matter because you can instantly catch up. Keep in mind, this is ZERO SETUP.

Now when really good singularities play, they are setting pods up at key locations as they hunt for their first victim. When they find the first survivor, the above paragraph happens. Then they secure their down, they check their other cameras to receive intel no other killer is capable of receiving, and instant teleports across the map.

This is why I say he's stronger than nurse and blight. Because yeah sure nurse can actually blink through walls and snipe a survivor with a skilled hit, but this is still pretty inconsistent without constant aura reading. But even as strong as nurse can be IN CHASE, she still has no map mobility, and certainly does not have cameras everywhere.

Have you played him? A lot of what your issue is, is typical when players don't know what to do, but if you played as him, you'd quickly see how Survs avoid everything you listed above and just reduce him to an M1 Killer. Since I've mained him, when I face him in SoloQ, I always know what to do and how to loop or bait.

  • @YamamuraVideoRentals said:

Singularity is the strongest killer in the game right now. People are sleeping on this fact, still stuck in the mentality that nurse and blight are king.

This is ridiculous lmao Nurse and Blight take no time for setup and have no actual counter to their powers. Singu takes time to setup and you have unlimited emps to use to disable his power.

People just don't know how to play against Singu and that's the issue, which is an issue with BHVR having a billion DLC Killers that you really only learn how to counter if you actually play them. Really we should be able to play any Killer in bot matches to get a sense of what the Killer does.
