Yet this is exactly what they did with afk crows and "go next".

Crows were briefly tested and the feedback given was that they were "too strong and punishing". That feedback was completely ignored, the version was pushed live with zero changes, no delay, and no "consideration for feedback".

"Go next" wasn't even tested, and went live in a highly abusable state.

Only the loud backlash after going live made a difference. At least for crows, since go next was pulled, then stealthily put back in with no patch notes and no changes, and is currently live in the same state where being hard tunneled can penalize the survivor.

So BHVR is wildly inconsistent at listening to the "loud feedback", as well as watching for "abusable scenarios" apparently.

What makes the anti go next even more pathetic when you consider this cancellation of anti tunnel - the tunnelling is so bad currently that their own anti go next system was classing people who had been tunnelled out as "going next" and punished them for it. Now it seems to me if your anti go next system is picking up people being tunnelled out as something that should be punished, then tunnelling is a MASSIVE problem in the game but we can't punish killers because they have to be rewarded at all times for absolutely everything.

The game is asymmetric, the Survivor role and Killer role are unable to be compared, as they are functionally two different games.

So that would be the first issue.

Oh of course - so basically we keep making the game as miserable as possible for survivor and keep rewarding killers more and more for driving players away from the game - what a super smart idea.

There will never be a punishment for tunnelling, Killers control everything in this game now as they have Otz who will cry the loudest tears for them if they ever even have to consider playing in a manner that doesn't involve 4 regression perks and tunnelling the first person out. THAT is why pulling this anti tunnel system is the problem, they have given killers full support to ramp it up even further with absolutely no consequences.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3997127#Comment_3997127

It will be punishing, I hope.

Keep in mind, there are genuine issues with the system currently. I don't think many people have an issue with tunneling when it's done at 2 gens left and 3 hooks, for example.

Tunnelling is tunnelling - Even with the system that was brought in killers weren't just being punsihed for tunnelling, they were being rewarded for not tunnelling too. How many examples can you give where survivors have been rewarded for not doing something to killers in a game? When do survivors even get a reward in the game? The 1 in 15 games that doesn't have someone tunnelled out from the start?

  • @Pulsar said:

They are big changes, and it is important to get them right.

I just hope that they don't scrap them completely. Pretty much every idea in them is good, it's just the execution of some of them that isn't. For example, I feel that 6 hooks is too punishing, it should be 5.

It had to be punishing otherwise people who have always relied on tunnelling for thousands of hours will not change. If the negative to tunnelling is too weak, they will not change because it does nothing to them. It is just standard baby killers crying - Otz crying and then BHVR bow down to it. The syringes will be gone soon too, Otz doesn't like them. The survivor bloodweb at this point may as well just be removed.

  • So your proof of it being a 4man SWF is meta perks and a toolbox with add ons? 🤣

It always makes me laugh when people moan about survivor items. They have all been nerfed in to the ground compared to where they used to be. Why not just admit you think survivors should have no items, shouldn't be able to move at more than 50% speed and only get 1 hook state per match?

All you want is to spawn in a game and win, that's your idea of "balance". You have deluded yourself to believe that any game you have lost is only because they are a SWF and I get it, you have been brainwashed to believe this by every other person like you in DBD who thinks they are the best killer in the game and they only lose to a 4 man SWF because it is "broken".

The problem is, every time you get beaten. It isn't a 4 man SWF.

Let's pretend though and say it IS a 4 man SWF every time you got beat, you are saying that it should be removed from the game, meaning that you never EVER lose a game. Is that balance? Or is that just you wanting an easy ride every single game because you clicked killer on the menu and that should be enough input for you to win?

  • You're still completely missing the point of why tunnelling is a problem.

Yes there is the aspect of it making the game an easy win if you tunnel someone out early but the main problem is the game ruining aspect of it for the person being tunneled.

This person in your scenario has been tunnelled off the hook multiple times now. Their points have already maxed out in that category. They have absolutely no reason to carry on running. They are getting nothing from the game all because the killer is pathetic af and still insists on trying to ruin the game for people

Its not demonizing. Its just a fact that the game was fundamentally designed from the ground up to be about not having information. McCote said in an early interview part of the fun is "queueing up, not knowing what killer you go against, not knowing their power, not knowing the people you are teamed up with or their abilities".

SWF was an afterthought, and it has created problems ever since it was added.

Nobody is mad at the players for playing with friends. But if you want the game to truly be balanced, something must be done to fix that.

It wasn't an afterthought. It was always planned to be in the game It just wasn't ready for launch.

The lie about how it wasn't supposed to be in the game needs to stop being used.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3968477#Comment_3968477

The problem is and always has been SWFs, If the mechanic is setup in a way that SWFs with free discord communication are able to exploit it to gain an advantage, then is a problem. Its tough to create an anti-tunnel/anti-slug system that isn't abusable. The only thing i can think of is just fundamentally rebalancing the game around hooks and chases instead of kills, and then just make tunneling impossible from a gameplay perspective (I.E. my often suggested idea of survivors sharing the first hook state)

Sharing the first hook won't really achieve anything anyway? People make out like it will revolutionise the game but it won't.

That injured survivor that just got unhooked is still a 1 hit down, the killer is still going to opt to tunnel that person off the hook as it is a down in one hit, rather than having to hit the healthy unhooker twice to achieve the same number of shared hooks used.

In fact it will further encourage tunnelling to blaze through everyone's first hook as quickly as possible.

I'm sorry, but if you have to bring up balance changes from three years ago, then I think you're fine.

You used multiple things from the future(don't even know what they look like) and things that hadn't been implemented yet to make your survivor list longer than the killer list. The only things that actually happened in that list were also from a while back. The survivor lost of things that actually happened was shorter than your killer list.

Then you tried to hide multiple buffs killers have received and the survivors all starting together was not very long ago at all.

It's almost like killers have been spoonfed for the last 3 years and still they want more.

Don't forget gen times got increased too.

  • You lot need to stop demonising the idea of people playing with friends.

I play regularly with someone who has played the game for years and they are the worst survivor. Not all SWF is a sweat team, some people are just hanging out with friends having a laugh. In fact that will be the majority of SWF you face. The majority of teams who batter you and you cry about being a 4 man SWF more than likely aren't. I have been accused of being in a 4 man SWF regularly when I am playing solo. You don't just lose to 4 man SWF, stop letting people fill your head with that.

The game should not be focused on the killer having an easy ride and having fun every match. There are 5 people in every round. Many killers have spent years saying "It isn't my responsibility for you to have fun" when they use unfun "tactics" to win the game. You can't now make it everyone else's responsibility to ensure you have fun as the killer

This is such an ironic statement. Where are the killer buffs? You're literally admitting to the massive survivor basekit changes while killers get… Nada.

    Survivor basekit changes:

    • Borrowed Time
    • Unbreakable (tested twice, not implemented)
    • Anti-Facecamp
    • Anti-tunnel (soon)
    • Anti-camp (soon)

    Killer basekit changes:

    • 10% faster action speed
    • 5% damage on gen kick
    • No insta-clicking to prevent regression

    Wow, this clearly favors killers.

Quicker cooldown on successful attacks and for a long time STBFL was not balanced to address that

Shorter speed boost when a survivor takes a hit.

Anti face camp being nerfed in to the ground because you all cried.

All survivors starting right next to each other but no changes to lethal pursuer.

I love how you have tried to flesh out your list with things that never got implemented and unknown things that may happen in the future.

Funny how you missed out some of the killer things they have been given too.... wonder why that is?

According to them, everything is planned months to a year in advance. Do I buy that? Ehhhh… But I do think they have a plan this time. Unfortunately I also think it's probably not great, which is fair given their track record, and now they're too afraid of how phase 1 went down to properly implement it. So I'm thinking they'll either scrap it entirely, or we'll get some watered down version of it that is like "it's better than nothing, I guess?".

It will definitely end up being something that stops someone getting tunnelled effectively in about 1 in 750 games and killers will get a load of sweeping buffs to "compensate" for this 1 in 750 game event but still moan that they can't 4k every single game in the first 4 seconds of the match and then BHVR will work on QoL patch that allows them to do that - All survivors start the trial exposed for the first 9 minutes.

There is also a bond between survivors, if you down 1 the other 3 go down in the first 25mins of a game.

Survivors can play an offering that reduces both of these effect timers by 0.25% per offering, so a whopping 1% reduction if they all play it.

Obviously these are jokes but I did once make a joke about a survivor perk that once used for a small effect would result in you being broken for the rest of the trial and that became a rreality with invocations

  • @Raccoon said:

    The suspense is killing me!

I want to see what they're implementing for their anti-tunnel/camp initiatives!

Pointless really, the PTB will have killers crying that it is too effective and it will get nerfed to oblivion before live. The usual survivor treatment.

Yes, some downsides can be bypassed, but it’s INTENDED for players to be able to fully or partially bypass those downsides.

But only survivor downsides shouldn't be bypassed, right? Killer should always have a way around a downside.

A strong pallet placement is still a strong pallet placement, it doesn't matter if the pallet is fragile or not. The fact you can put another one where a strong pallet was is inherently problematic because the placement is strong.

Thankfully, the pallets are fragile and break in one go, and there's a limited number of times Survivors can do this. The perk should not be touched in any way from PTB to live.

It isn't a God pallet. A God pallet the killer has no option but to break and the survivor will gain distance whilst that happens. This breaks the moment it goes down. So if the stun is missed the survivor gains nothing from your "rebuilt God pallet". That doesn't sound like a God pallet really does it? It sounds like a crap party pallet with extra work to get 1 of them.... because that is what it is

The perk should be scrapped and something decent put in its place. It is another waste of a perk for survivors.

  • @LockerLurk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3964842#Comment_3964842

That wasn't my point, my point is that rebuilding resources at ALL is something with the potential to be strong against some Killers and does need conditions to limit it. Rebuilding resources is not a "subpar" effect, especially if it's rebuilding of something like a god pallet, which is why it needs to be limited and be a fragile resource that gets rebuilt.

As for "but it's OK because Survivors waste time doing it", everyone said that about the CoH meta too, "it takes time to do boon, what harm does it cause?" Everyone said 3% Haste on injure was fine too and wouldn't be a problem either, until it was. Everyone said another 5% on Pop would be okay and it wasn't according tot he Devs. Just because the effect of a perk is minimal at first blush or takes time to do doesn't mean it can't be used well or won't be problematic later on.

It isn't the rebuilding of a God pallet though is it? It's replacing a God pallet with a party pallet. Party pallets that even when given for free and take no time to build are rubbish.

Don't worry remote hooking and remote pallet breaking will be a perk shortly(probably built in to one petk to make sure you can still have 3 regression perks) and you can say how balanced and fair it is whilst moaning about every weak perk a survivor gets.

  • @Lixadonna said:

It's funny how the new Survivor Perks make you jump through loops to get subpar value meanwhile the newest Killer Perk giving value just for having LoS on Survivor.

Why would you expect anything else? BHVR have been holding the hands of killers for years now whilst making survivor more and more miserable

  • @Skeleton23 said:

Are you serious. Killer has been kicked while we are down for a while survivors get There hand held most of the patches. If you think a Survivor should be able to make killers games miserable with all there Perks that counters Bully Squading be Gutted to the point there unusable then they might as well name the Game Holding Hands Simulator at that point. There's been a problem with healing sense Orela Rose came to the fog btw. Sense it takes only 2secs to heal now Gens been Flying like popcorn because let Healing means more times on Gens which means Shorter matches. I've had a game where the Gens got Down in a minute on my first case that was only able 2mins. Yeah totally Killer Sided.

The reason the queue for killers is longer is because there are less survivors around. Bored of being camped, tunnelled and slugged every single game whilst BHVR sit back and let it happen. Rather than fix the problems of why people want to go next, they decided to lock survivors in, because NOTHING says fun like a mandatory game. Survivors are walking away from the game, if survivor is gutted any further you may as well just start queueing up for 4 bots, as there will be barely any humans playing survivor left.

To suggest the game has not been protecting killers for about 2-3 years now completely exposes your bias and also exposes that you aren't very good at playing killer.

I also attempted to read your post in full and I am sorry but you are obviously very triggered because your post isn't very coherent. If you want to edit it and try again after you have calmed down, I will also try and read it again.

  • @Skeleton23 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3962237#Comment_3962237

Never said to gut or nerf the Survivor side. I just want it balanced on not only the survivior side but also the killer side. If you take something out on one side you need to give that side something to balance it. The Killer side doesn't have any basekit to face bully Squads and Other Annoying things that makes playing Killer Miserable which is the point of bully Squads btw. The only thing I would do to balance this I would make it so Hooks only can be Sabotaged a limited amount of times and when you Go down you lose ur item defaultly and add a perk that not only let's you keep ur item when downed or Hit with Franklin's Demise but it will give extra charges to ur item

So even though killer queue is long already (because the survivor experience is so miserable currently)and killer is already significantly easier than it has ever been, you want further nerfs to survivor(killer buffs by default) to combat this.... interesting way of thinking.

  • @Ardel said:

Who said I had trouble getting kills? Never said that. I have no problem getting 3-4k every match, but i also have no problem escaping most of my games as a survivor, the difference is, it is WAY easier to win on survivor side. So yeah, if you're struggling as a survivor, you definitely should go and train with bots like I suggested. Get better.

And btw, getting kills with clown is super easy as it is easy to close loops and pallets with him, so it is not the flex you think it is. Seriously, stop embarassing yourself :)

Oh and you should take your pills if you keep imagining things that were never said, Timmy, this and your desilusion about the fact that the game is killer sided becomes concerning, honestly.

Oh babes again you have been very silly.

You brought up the clown in your message about how "survivor sided" the update is and how we shouldn't be nerfing mid to low tier killers and then you now say that getting kills with clown is "super easy". Well.... make up your mind little man, if he is super easy to get kills with which is what you most recently said why were you crying about him getting changes in your earlier message and how he is not a strong killer?

I get you were trying to belittle me for not being a baby and trying to make out like I play the strongest killer in the game when I don't, but you really need to try and make it a bit more consistent between messages. Some of us are able to follow a thread and will notice that you can't keep a consistent view. Throw your toys out of the pram again here if you like.

I also pointed out I don't need a 4 slowdown/regression meta set of perks but you couldn't spin that in any way to make you look "smart"? So you stayed away from that.

I see exactly the type of person you are. Someone who tries to spin every response in to the poster being the problem. You're the problem babes. You are bad at the game and because of this you expect BHVR to make it so the game can be won every single game by even the worst killer players. I think it is hilarious you say you get 3 or 4k every game but the game is survivor sided...

Basically, you lie in all of your posts to make it look like you got the upper hand but because it is a lie, you can't consistently apply the same information throughout multiple posts. I am cringing for you so much right now.

    Rage on baby boy.

Playing the game is not toxic, if you don't like what a player is doing, you need to blame the developers for allowing it, rather than the player doing it.

Well not really, just because you can do something pathetic/toxic, doesn't mean you have to, that choice is made by the pathetic/toxic player.

  • @Ardel said:

So another survivor sided update, as usual.

Fog vial is completly busted, I can't even imagine what a 4 swj is gonna do with it.

Survivors got smoke bombs, rebuildable pallets, stun on vault and aoe endurance when a pallet gets thrown, and killers get a nerf on franklin's, a Phead nerf, a Knight nerf, a Clown nerf (because yeah let's nerf B and C tier killers, why not), one second faster activation on insidious and a Pig buff, woohoo !

Awww look at this. You can tell killers have had their hands held for so long that when any slight change comes in they start crying about how unfair it is.

Meanwhile, survivors(especially solo) is in the worst shape ever. They get trapped in games that are unwinnable so the killer can have fun and they just got another 6 pointless perks.... woo

"Rebuild pallets" 1 single party pallet per game

"Stun on vault" once per match

The survivor perks are dreadful. Compose yourself.

Still not sure you're understanding. You don't use them to drop on the killer to stun them in a chase. There's no baiting involved. As an injured survivor, you run to a pallet, then you stand there. Either the killer downs you, or he leaves you. Either way, you win. Once you're downed, they can't grab you with your buddy nearby. If they dare, they get stunned. If they run after your buddy, you simply get up (with the new perk), or you power struggle if they come back to get you. If the killer is silly and does pick you up, they get stunned, you escape. Now you can come back and rebuild the pallet. Rinse and repeat. If they dare pick you up, either your friend pallet saves, you power struggle, or you use the new perk and get away. If the pallet is destroyed, then you can just create another fragile pallet.

The whole downside to fragile pallets is that they are destroyed once dropped. You can entirely disregard this downside if you instead use it to go down at instead of trying to use it in a chase where (as you mentioned) baiting is necessary. Skip that entirely - simply go down at the pallet. Now you can't be picked up without the killer getting stunned. At the moment, the game is balanced around the idea that while you can guarantee yourself safety at any pallet by going down at it, it permanently uses that pallet resource, and as the match progresses, less and less pallets are available. However, now, you can just keep recreating them. You DO NOT drop them in chase. You instead just go down at them. The entire downside to fragile pallets are non-existent if you use them in that manner.

You are really not understanding. You can make 1 fragile pallet after opening 2 chests. So basically 1 pallet per game. How is that infinite? Do you understand what infinite means?

These pallets are crap in the event where you can make loads without a perk slot being used. Nobody is using this perk. Nobody.

Okay so some killer buffs/survivor nerfs and some killer nerfs/survivor buffs as usual.

Take a deep breath, killer mains. I know some changes make your heart beat faster but always bear this in mind: BHVR forces you to win more than you lose by design. I'm unaware of any other PVP dev that holds one sides hand this hard. It's easy to get caught up in the smaller details and forget the bigger picture that you are still the devs favorite child

They are convinced they should be able to have a 100% win rate otherwise the game isn't balanced.

if i was in a swf i would just run this perk or have someone run it and make sure to get downed as close to a vault or pallet as possible and just fast vault during pick up animation. it's just a flashbang alt since if you mess up a pallet save you can vault the pallet and still get the save then smoke bomb to cover up any tracks

Once in a game. Head on is better than this especially in a SWF group. Multiple stuns to inhibit multiple chases throughout the game. 3 second. Single use stun and people are moaning about it.

This reminds me of when power struggle came out and killers were going crazy about it and how it was another second chance perk that will be in every game etc .... the reality is you rarely see it.

  • @terumisan said:

does endurance counter this op swf stun perk does it work like ds?

OP? A 3 second stun if the killer is within 2.5 metres of a fast vault. OP? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣OP? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 JFC. Single use. OP. Christ. 🤣🤣🤣

Great, it may stop a killer being rewarded with a hit through one window fast vault that he shouldn't have got anyway if we weren't rewarding laggy killers. Although, this is DBD it will probably do the stun after rewarding the laggy hit so there will be zero benefit to the survivor.

  • It isn't even "so bad" it's probably one of the most useless perks in the game alongside that one where you can get yourself up off the floor for 30 seconds before going back down.

In solo queue if anyone beats you to the chests, dead perk slot.

If you do get the chests you can make one garbage pallet in an entire game. They're crap in the event and you get given them for free every minute or so. Why would anyone ever consider running this perk outside of adept?

It does make me worry they will give killers remote hook and pallet break as perks shortly though, of course that wouldn't be limited to once per match and will have zero activation requirements.

Why was it even made in the first place. Do you guys play this game? Honest question…every killer "buff" is basically a nerf. You buff something by 0.1 that no one cares about and gut the best parts. I honestly don't know why any one boots up killer anymore. Games cooked.

I mean killer is the easiest it has ever been and the survival rates show that but sure...

  • Do you have to rummage in 2 chests per fragile pallet or once you have done 2 you can make as many as you like?

I mean.... nobody is going to use this perk as the party pallets in the event are awful and they're free. Who thought this was a perk anyone in DBD wanted?

The single 3 second fast vault stunning for an entire match is laughable too. Why would I use an entire perk slot for this?

    2 survivors I won't be buying.

Something being common, and community backlash being more widespread and loud as a result, is directly linked to how fast something is addressed (or if something is even addressed at all) by the Devs. While it's true that stats are often used a bit too much, community outcry and frequency does affect some decisions.

Recently, part of the Anti-go-next system (the part that gave penalties when Survivors died too quickly for its taste, giving false positives that people were giving up when in truth they were merely getting tunneled or were just inexperienced) was kill switched in a matter of days due to the unfair punishment it granted. Now Survivors who want to just "go next" for any reason (if they don't have a luck offering/perk to make going next possible again) will simply run to the Killer to get hooked faster without fear of getting a penalty for it, the Abandon function also effectively removed griefing Survivors by slugging everyone and letting them bleed out as now they can just leave with no penalty if everyone is incapacitated.

The Anti-AFK crows, after enough people spoke about it and even showed videos, were made more lenient within two patches in order to not punish people during normal gameplay in situations that essentially required staying hidden for some time and didn't punish newcomers that were simply lost and couldn't find gens or totems.

BHVR has a lot of faults, and they sometimes make very questionable decisions, but (especially in recent times) they did prove that some of their decisions are influenced (whether it's reverting something or implementing something) by the community.

All their "Anti-something" measures are made to only target extreme cases without affecting normal gameplay too much (it's why the crows were made more lenient fairly quickly, for example). It's obvious that the anti-slug/tunnel/camp won't be something that completely removes those things from the game, just like the anti-AFK doesn't completely remove hiding for a long time but deals with extreme cases decently enough. Just like the first crows could be weaponized by the Killer (slug the 3rd Survivor and the 4th was forced to either go for the slug asap or jump on a gen if they didn't want crows giving their position away, both options making them very vulnerable to be spotted by the Killer, which made slugging for the 4k worse) and were changed because of it, the devs have to keep the Anti-slug/tunnel/camp from being too powerful that they can actively be weaponized to create lose-lose scenarios.

I will agree that it's annoying to be kinda-trapped in a match with a cheater/VPN Killer for longer (although you can still throw yourself at the Killer to quicken the process, or bring a luck offering if the option of going next on first hook is that important) and I think BHVR should make going next on 2nd hook after 2 missed skill checks still a thing (especially when in 2v1 situations where you want to give a chance at Hatch to your teammate). But I do believe that their upcoming Anti-everything mechanics will, at the very least, make those playstyles less efficient and thus less viable (or at least tedious/annoying enough to be a deterrent).

It's a shame it wasn't addressed sooner, but better late than never. After they dealt with the first AFK crows iteration and with the faulty Anti-go-next penalties in a timely manner, I'm willing to give BHVR a chance with their anti-slug/tunnel/camp, at least until they give more details and show if their first drafts are efficient without going overboard.

Whilst I agree that community backlash has contributed towards changes. The trapping people in games has even put a stop to some aspects of that.

Every single player does not engage on the forum or any social media in regard to the game. Often BHVR release a killer in a very stupid state. There is backlash in the PTB and they ignore that and push it to live. That killer is miserable to face. They hold a 3 gen for a full hour, they are boring af to face so people stop playing against it. They give up on first hook, they disconnect. BHVR has to take notice of that because nobody wants to play against them. So they make changes to that killer.

What happens in future? Those survivors are now trapped in a game against a very unfun killer and if they die too soon, they are punished for it, if they disconnect, they are punished for it. BHVR look at the stats and say "wow everyone is doing a full game against this new killer even though some people on the forum have said they are unfun - oh well people are playing so we don't need to change anything" blissful ignorance

Killers always used to moan that they shouldn't have to run certain perks to deal with things like made for this(exhaustion stopped it from working, blood echo, mindbreaker etc inflict exhaustion) but now I have to run a perk or an offering every game in order to leave if the killer has a bad ping or just wants to play in the most miserable manner possible? Amazing how it is an acceptable solution for Survivors but killers don't appreciate being told what perks/offerings/addons they could use for any of their problems - because 4 gen slowdown/regression is all they want.

….i think u should look in the mirror about who is making people quit….

and as i mentioned maybe take a break and im showing my killers because those 3 killers are the lowest of the tiers and don't do very well at tunneling since they don't have anything fancy but since u clearly didn't get why i showed them there is no point in arguing with u anymore, you are just so focused on KILLER BAD AND SKILL ISSUE AND NEED TO GET NERFED AND SURVIVORS ARE WEAK AND NEEDS BUFFS.

and i don't actually get bullied since my mmr is med to high in almost all killers, and even if they try i just play dirty lmao, but im speaking for those players who are new, and trying to have fun just to run into players like yourself, misrable and have to make everyone around them the same, always constantly insulting others and annoying anyone they can just to feel less misrable from a game they could simple stop playing for a bit

have good day, and good luck in the fog and maybe take it easy before u pop a vien.

You just ignored every response and started going on about how I am ruining the game for people?

I'm not the one camping and tunnelling people out to ruin their experience because I CHOOSE to play weaker killers. As for your MMR, since all it is based on is kills it isn't a display of skill. You clearly believe you are incredible at the game because you camp and tunnel people out when that couldn't be further from the truth. It is a low skill play that is currently rewarded massively.

As I said in my last one, the only person raging here is you. Ranting about number of players and bullying etc.

I get it though, you are bad at the game and you are getting nervous your entire playstyle is in danger of being weakened so you lash out.

DRIVEN THOUSANDS OF PLAYERS AWAY as dbd hits a new peak twice

sorry u just have a major skill issue, and anger issue lol

because the killers might get upset that they can't play in the most pathetic manner. It isn't a power role conversation it is killers who are bad at the game who camp and tunnel every single match because they refuse to get better at the game ruining it for others.

hey if it works, it works, if u keep falling for the same trap over and over it works, but clearly raging over it will help instead of trying to find a way to play around it or find "friends" to help you with it

and i don't care if people want to play with me or not, i got plently of other games tho tbh people like you are the reason both sided might quit playing this game, on the war path 24/7 most likely screams at survivors for not playing perfecty and spams at end game when someone tunnels them, but clearly u don't see yourself as the problem you see a strats that causes the killer to win as "problematic" and skill issue right?

which just begs the question, why are u even still playing if the game makes u this mad? maybe consider taking a break instead of ruining both your day and others who are just trying to play

    and fyi

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0L0OZHKVEQV0/image.png

i main 3 C tier killers, if anything survivors seeing my killers makes them more confident in winning lmao

PS : forgot to add, bullying is still around, especially against new killers or m1 killers.

The game hitting a new peak doesn't mean that players haven't left in droves over the years due to unfun playstyles being used and ignored by BHVR. Do you think that because the game has hit a new peak that nobody has ever stopped playing the game? That's such a bizarre idea to have.

These are playstyles that have driven players away, they are playstyles that BHVR are finally starting to see as needing changes. You will be the one who suffers here little man. If the changes work you won't be able to win anymore as you can't use those "strats"

If you have to rely on camping and tunnelling alongside your constant moaning about being "bullied" the only one who is raging at the game here is you. Relying on zero skill playstyles because you think getting a 4k with the most braindead playstyle means you are good?? 🤣🤣🤣 You probably do all these whilst raging about the "survivor rulebook"

I don't get you showing me your killers? Anybody can play any killer and consistently win by tunnelling people from the start. I don't think you really understand anything about skill in this game.

the victims that have been bullying the killer…since this game came out? damn…..

its forbidden for the "power role" to play the game lol

As if you are trying to use historic strength of survivors as a reason killers should be able to do as they please now. You understand kill rate targets have been pushed higher for killers right?

Camping and tunnelling is rife in the game right now. Those playstyles alone have driven thousands away from this game over its lifetime. Yet nothing is done about it, because the killers might get upset that they can't play in the most pathetic manner. It isn't a power role conversation it is killers who are bad at the game who camp and tunnel every single match because they refuse to get better at the game ruining it for others. Why should I have the game I paid for ruined by the same toxic killer players? I shouldn't.

I should be able to see a name in the lobby and say "No, not playing with him as I go against him regularly and he is boring to face camping and tunnelling every hook"

I am guessing you are worried that people wouldn't play with you if this happened? Maybe start playing with a shred of skill and people would play with you.

The frequency of Survivors giving up (either through DC or going next on hook or simply throwing on purpose) vs the frequency of Killers giving up (either through DC or through going sulking in a corner) aren't even remotely similar.

Even now, when going next on hook is no longer a thing, I've seldom had games without at least one DC/Abandon or just someone idling or running to the Killer. Killers usually give up when they are getting crushed and have like 0 hooks and 3-4 gens are gone in the first 4 minutes, Survivors sometimes give up simply based on the Killer they are facing, no interaction needed beyond seeing the Killer.

When a Survivor DCs or gives up, the match keeps going but the remaining Survivors are basically doomed if it happened too early. When the Killer DCs, the match ends instantly. When the Killer gives up and goes to sulk, it's a free win for the Survivors, prime time for possible achievements and BP farming. The consequences are different.

Furthermore, Killers do have an AFK penalty/punishment. There's a reason why the AFK Doctor bots are hitting the air repeatedly: if the Killer goes AFK for too long then they will get a penalty after the game is over.

Also, there are Anti-camping, Anti-tunnelling and Anti-slugging measures coming soon to the game (good things, if done correctly and carefully without going overboard). Playstyles which are not fun are getting addressed soon.

It's true that a Killer that gives up/DCs effectively voids the match for everyone (although the amount of frustration born from the Killer giving up is nowhere near how annoyed Survivors are when one of their teammates just gives up, and there are more Survivors in a match than Killers) but if it was a common thing, the forums would be just as filled with that as it has been filled with complaints about Survivors going next for years. Yet usually the only thing that results from a Killer DC/giving up is an easy win/BP party and maybe a video or clip from some Survivors if they happen to be content creators.

Notice how, when the anti-go-next was first implemented, a lot of people (including some content creators) said that their Killer matches suddenly felt a bit harder? That's because people going next on hook was so common and done early that many matches that would have been perfectly winnable were doomed from the start because someone didn't like something.

It doesn't matter which was more common. Why is only one side trapped in a game they have deemed unwinnable?

The frequency of people disconnecting etc is completely irrelevant. It is another situation where survivors are told how they should play and killers are left to do as they please even though the way they play will often make people want to leave.

Saying the unfun playstyles will be addressed soon is also irrelevant to this discussion. They aren't dealt with right now and yet survivors are forced to stay in a game with those unfun playstyles.

On top of that you can no longer leave when the killer has a high ping you just have to keep playing because you are punished for disconnecting and punished for giving up.

Let's not fool ourselves either. The anti tunnel/slug/camp will be a light touch as usual AND killers will more than likely be given something to make it easier for them to cope with.

  • Because killers are allowed to play however they want and never have any consequences for it. Survivors have to follow BHVR's rules or get punished. If survivors could see they were up against a toxic killer, that killer might not get to play and that isn't fair because killers should ALWAYS be allowed to play in any manner they choose.

They may as well rename survivor to victim and replace every lobby with bots. Make it so every killer gets a 4k every single round.

Killers did get a afk penalty too. Not sure if the kill switched that along with the survivor one. For the record I don’t think there should be a punishment for either side but you are comparing apples and oranges. You complain about killers sweating to win but also complain when killers go a bit easy too. What do you want?

I think killers get classed as disconnecting if they don't do anything for an entire match but if that killer gives up partway through, they should be punished, just as the plan was with survivor and currently there doesn't seem to be that system in place or even planned.

If they have queued up then they have to play until the bitter end even if it means they are getting trounced and if they get trounced to a spectacular level even whilst participating they should still be punished for not being good enough. That is what the survivor system did when being tunnelled out.

Why do we have different rules for the killers? Why are we always holding their hands?

  • @PleaseRewind said:

A survivor going next makes it harder for those left to win. A killer giving up only hurts the individual.
If a killer opens the exit why would you want that punished! I often let survivors wiggle off if I think they are having a rough match. Why should I be punished for giving survivors a better experience?

Survivors were being punished for using shoulder the burden and also for killers tunnelling them out.

Killers should 100% be punished for giving up. Survivors queued up for that game and that killer not playing has taken away the experience/fun for 4 people in that room but we never punish ANYTHING on killer side do we? They can play however they want - tunnel, camp, slug, give up - all OK, survivors weren't even allowed to click a torch quickly because killers got upset by it.

If survivors are going to have a giving up punishment, killers should also have an equivalent punishment for giving up

  • @CrypticGirl said:

Well, there is the DC penalty, which is the only way a Killer can leave a game early.

The only way a killer can leave early is DC but they can give up so the game isn't being played. Which is what survivors are being punished for.

Killers can go stand in a corner halfway through the game, they can open the exit gates, they can let survivors wiggle out.

All of these should be punishable the same way survivors are punished if they are deemed to not be playing their heart out every single round. Or do we only punish survivors for not wanting to play when they feel like they have lost?

  • Do killers have a go next punishment? It isn't just survivors who give up in games and make no effort to win after a certain point. So there MUST be a killer go next prevention, right?

  • @squbax said:

This post gives big LTG vibes, games where the avoid/block mechanic is present normaly it is used against people who just are better than you or tilted you in some regard. The other type of them are genuinly problematic players/griefers but dbd has no voice chat and you can hide post game chat so those people are easily ignored.

There is a lot more to being someone you don't want to play with in DBD than the voice chat.

Being camped, tunnelled and slugged repeatedly by the same person because they are a PoS is a prime example of this. They aim to ruin the game for players, why should I have to play with them? Maybe if their pool of available players kept reducing over the course of the month they might actually make an effort to play the game for enjoyment rather than to ruin it for others, or maybe they will just leave? Surely that is better for the community than all the people leaving due to being camped/tunnelled/slugged each game.

Stop thinking we have to protect poor players. Survivor is the queue that is super quick now, there is an abundance of killers. We can afford to lose the toxic ones.

Except that the Killers ping doesn't, as I stated when I'm playing Killer and I'm getting punished for Survs with worse ping. The game prioritizes high ping over low ping. If you have really great ping you're punished in this game.

Hits are based on killer ping. Which is why on my 20 ping I get hit 5 steps through a window by a laggy killer but as a killer I can swing at a survivor who has only just landed on the other side of a window I hit the window frame.

A killer with bad ping gets hits they are not supposed to. A killer with good ping only gets the hits that are 100% accurate. You ARE punished for being a good ping survivor against a laggy killer. You have to work far harder as a good ping killer than a laggy killer - hence, feeling punished for being a good ping killer too when you compare it to your experience against laggy killers.

I know this because I am one of these people who feels punished for not being cheap with his connection.

Good ping survivor vs good ping killer is still not perfect because BHVR manage to mess ot up but it is significantly more fair as a survivor.

  • You need to stop thinking that the game is for you. You are there to die, that is it. That is why the entire focus for years has been boosting kill rates and trapping survivors in the game. The only fun that requires satisfying is that of a killer.

The sooner you accept this the sooner you can let it all go.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/450287/implement-an-actual-player-blocking-system

So basically you just want yourself to have fun, but nobody else is allowed to have fun because they have to go extra easy on you so that you have an easy escape or easy 4K every match? Got it.

The devs have just built a system to force survivors to remain in all games because as long as the killer is having fun, nobody else matters.

So when I suggest that if I am going to be forced to stay in games, I should be able to say I'm not playing with this person more than once this ranking season. I should have that option. There are multiple bad streamers who stream nothing but them camping and tunnelling every hook. Why should I have to be involved in that?

How about we start showing the killer name in the lobby? So I can avoid these people. I should have some choice over what game I am going to be forced to stay in.

  • @Roco45 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3957735#Comment_3957735

They don't because when I play Killer and have 30ms when I'm facing Survs that have +100ms, they never get hit at vaults and often I'm getting pallet stunned when I'm not even near the pallet. When I do down them, I watch their body teleport 2 meters in any direction because of how bad their ping is. Yet when I'm Surv with 30ms playing against Killers with +100ms, I'm getting hit through vaults I'm nowhere near anymore and I'm getting hit through pallet stuns.

Because the killer ping is all that matters. So being a good ping survivor you are punished by a bad ping killer and as a good ping killer you are "fair" but it feels unfair because of what happens to you when you play survivor.

  • @SpringMyTrap said:

the only playstyle devs want from survivors is splitting gens and predropping/shift w with occasional sabo/beamer plays and the only playstyle devs want from killers is to mindlessly chase people for streamline chase-hook-chase another person.

the game is getting too scripted

They want every survivor to play the same and in a very specific way whilst at the same time saying about camping and tunnelling is a legit strat and "don't want to tell people how to play" - Survivors weren't even allowed to click a torch quickly because it upset killers(and made up an excuse about seizures), but killers can tunnel someone out of a game at 5 gens and we get nothing for that.

  • I have said this for YEARS. Even if it became a rank reset situation, If I face someone in that season who is a PoS (and I can think of MANY streamers who play like absolute dirt bags.) I should be able to click block and not see them for the rest of the season. Force me to paly with them once per season, that is fine, maybe they will grow as humans and improve when they start realising they have to wait longer for games because nobody wants to play with them.

Such a bad reason when you are giving up 4 peoples fun over the 1 who has the terrible connection.

And now trapping those 4 people in the game and saying YOU MUST play this game that you can't possibly win with this killer who is rewarded for lagging

  • @mecca said:

Whatever they do, they'll be game design exploits put in place so killer players can still grief and ruin the game for other players, and hijack their wins.

It'll be just like how borrowed time was the answer to tunneling.

It will hit the PTB in a reasonable state but killers will cry that they can't camp/tunnel/slug as much anymore - you know… exactly what it was designed to do - BHVR will get scared and water it down to be borderline useless - See the PTB for the anti face camp system and the release of reassurance for evidence to support this

so here's the thing. one time when i was using overcome my character bugged out for the entire game and i never lost the movement speed buff. and the longer i ran the faster i got. it was just a bug. i've only experienced it one time ever and never saw it happen to anyone else. but it happened to me. your system would likely ban my account. lol

I remember getting reported by someone years ago for hacking for this kind of thing. I think it was before overcome existed though. I was zipping all over azarovs resting place. I gave him the kill in the end too. Still moaned about me "hacking".

I didn't even repair gens or run the killer. I just ran around at super speed from about halfway through the game. He lost the game that was basically a 3v1 as I did nothing and gave him the kill. Still crying in end game chat because of a bug...

Killers must always be allowed to have fun with bugs and win, survivors must be removed…

Wondering why I am getting hit from 20 feet away and then I look at the ping…

This should not be allowed to happen, utterly ridiculous, even playing EU from OCE on ExitLag is 350ish ping, so where the hell is this guy playing from?!

Like you I often have around 20 ping, I am always getting cheated on vaults where I will be hit after taking multiple steps through the window as a survivor. Then to make it feel even more unfair, on the opposite side, being a good ping killer you are forced to have to be 100% accurate with everything no leeway whatsoever.

I don't think it would irritate me so much if I felt like I wasn't punished for being a good ping survivor against a middling to bad ping killer
