First You guys called it a DEVELOPER UPDATE. So I only referred to it as such. If u read as carefully as u claim you would have noticed.
As to your other point I know numerous people who play and none of them asked for these changes. Again if u read as carefully as you said the only change I completely agree with is the solo Q buff. Otherwise you did nothing for killers but lower them even further.
I'm not here to argue, being passive aggressive for no reason leads to nothing.
I clarified the point that seemed confusing, that's it, plus I do not see you agreeing with the solo queue buff, I only see you calling the update "god awful".

I never said it was coming this update. Read my post more carefully. I just mentioned it to show the clear bias.
I read carefully enough, otherwise I wouldn't have clarified in the first place.
I understand you preferred to see different changes in the post, but a lot of these changes were asked by many, so the feedback is not getting ignored as you stated.

All I did was laugh. This update is god awful. Some nich perk changes and a huge solo que buff. Killer literally are begging for something to be done with dead hard and a few other things like MAPS. Every update it seems our feedback is completely ignored and they do whatever they want. I mean I'm not playing just watching streamers quit and rage soo.
Just to be clear, the "huge solo queue buff" you are mentioning is not coming with this update, I suggest to read the post correctly:

It would created as much controversy but with more cosmetics for Bubba, the community benefiting. I repeat the same, removing all the masks is like using a sledgehammer to crack nuts.
And also, I don't think your opinion is honest, you're an employee and you can be fired if you disagree with the bosses in public.
You can think what you prefer, I still have opinions and ideas outside what my role is and I don't think I would get fired for saying I disagree with a change, because there are multiple changes I do not agree with.
However that's beyond the point, you are free to dislike the change, I'm just trying to see the reasoning behind it.

Ok, but why removing all the masks and not just the Claudette one. Were Korean and Japanese players being harrashed with the Jake Park mask? Or runners and sport people being harrashed with the Meg mask? Removing all the masks is using sledgehammer to crack nuts.
I don't know their reasoning behind it, but I can give you my opinion: removing only that mask would've created as much controversy, I agree with their decision of taking them all away.

Remove flashlights then. The same argument can be used but only without the racism variable.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's not even remotely the same, I'm sorry.
This kind of harassment went past the simple in-game frustration.

Surely the cosmetic isn't the problem here, though?
I think there's bigger issues with that behaviour than the racist's wardrobe.
I think the focus here is removing tools that facilitate a certain behavior.

Well, color me disappointed then, if all the largest topics have been discussed in the Dev Updates. On the Survivor side they have a huge teaser to gameplay info experience and a revamp of a game mechanic that has an effect for all Survivors in the form of an opt-in beta that also gives bonus BP, and Killer has nothing new apart from more gen info/block, yay.... Has the idea for base-kit Mori's been shelved?
Just to be clear, the Beta feature is not a one and done, it will be used for future changes too.

Then I sincerely hope they've got some of the most important stuff tucked away for tomorrow, because Part 2 is... pretty bad. Didn't address some major issues with current gameplay and didn't deliver any promised character reworks. And Bubba's masks getting nuked is just depressing.
I wonder if the developers would be interested in a dialogue about the perk changes? Several of the perks they tried to buff are still really, really bad because the buff didn't address a massive flaw with the perk's design. Dead Man's Switch and Gearhead got buffs that fixed their issues. Distortion fails because there's no way to regenerate tokens, so if a killer has BBQ or any aura addons, they're going to burn through everything you've got at the start of the trial and then it's a dead perk. Remember Me flops because No Way Out trumps it in every conceivable way and it doesn't bring anything to the table that that perk doesn't, and also because Remember Me doesn't affect the Obsession and there's one player that can open the gates like normal. Buckle Up is just a bad effect that players can figure out by themselves - killer aura reading isn't strong enough to justify the perk, and very often in slug pickup situations, the killer is very close by and you don't need an aura read to see them. What Buckle Up needs is some numbers buff around pickups, or Endurance to the player who gets picked up, or something tangible. And Furtive Chase no longer losing its effect if the Obsession dies is great (really, losing tokens when the Obsession dies should rarely be a thing), but losing your TR in chase is just not a useful effect. The person you're chasing already knows you're nearby. Nearby players will see you running after the survivor and hear all the fast vaults. I think the point of the perk is to be able to break off from a chase and surprise someone nearby, but that's something that either works perfectly on its own due to survivors feeling assured that you're wrapped up in chasing someone else and ignore the nearby TR, or it doesn't work because they're on comms and tell each other what you're doing.
That's useful feedback that you can post in the PTB feedback section once it drops.

why not reveal the rest of the changes now though?
The patch-notes include all the bug fixes, all the known issues, changes, features, the update shows the biggest or most important changes.
-
@AnObserver said:

Are there more significant changes in the PTB notes? Or will the rest generally just be bugfixes?
I don't have that information, we have to wait until tomorrow.
-
The Developer Update is not the PTB patch-notes, it's a showcase of some of the changes that are coming, but it doesn't cover all the changes that the PTB will have.

So like another game mode where you can test stuff with others who use that game mode?
It's not a different game mode, it's a tab you can find in your options to activate a feature that is in testing, so you can play with it in normal games and see how it is, being also rewarded while doing it:

Part 2 will be released tomorrow.

I'm totally supportive of this change, but I'm guessing it's going to royally piss off Killer mains with how Survivor focused the New Year Dev Update is.
I mean hell, Survivors get to know what other Survivors are doing, but Killers still don't get a Hook tracker for each Survivor?
This is just the first part of the update, I'd wait until part 2 before calling it survivor focused.

i’m not sure if your aloud to answer this but is console cross progression currently being looked into?
i gotta be honest it’s super upsetting loosing thousand of hours, it really ruins my motivation :(
I don't have any new information to share at the moment, I'm sorry.

If they were working together, that's reportable.
Be sure to record the match, report in game and open a ticket on the Support website: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Yes, you can do that, you have to enable cross progression by creating a BHVR account here: https://account.bhvr.com and linking Steam and Epic (be sure to start the game at least once on both platforms in order to do so).
You can find more information about it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/305-f-a-q-cross-progression
As someone already pointed out, you need to own the game on both platforms, I assumed you did, but better be sure.

Let's drop it here, ok?

I totally get what you’re saying about Shadowborn being part of it, but even so that was still quite the thin crack that flashlighter must have hit! Not to mention the survivor had no way of knowing the killer had Shadowborn, obviously, so they got a bit lucky that was the case.
It was definitely luck on the Survivor's side, that's for sure, they couldn't know and they had the perfect angle, sometimes it happens.
I think it's just the wrong clip to "prove" that flashlights are an issue (if that was OP's intent).
-
That blind is due to Shadowborn, bigger FOV also means bigger blind angle, and as you can see from that clip, there's enough space on the right of that tile to get the blind through.

@AngyKiller said:
Voice comms are cheating, this is a hard fact. I don't care if it's allowed; that's only because the devs have no way to counter voice-cheating without removing Cheat With Friends, which they won't.
This game was made for Survivors to have an information blackout. IE:
'Do I want to risk saving that Meg? She might not save me!"
Or Not knowing who the Killer is, or where the Killer is. Or where the Traps (Trapper, Hag) are.
Not knowing if the Killer is camping (Unless the hooked Survivor brought a perk)
For freaking hell: Survivors lack in-game voice chat and audio emotes EXPLICITLY because they are supposed to be hindered by not knowing if someone will save them, and not being able to communicate with the stranger next to them.
Add Voice comms? 'Freddy is chasing me; go get that gen he just kicked! Oh! He turned around! Run away!'
Or how about certain Killer states removing the TR; that means jack ######### when 1 Survivor can see you and tell his friends you're nearing. Then you can sneak away without leaving scratch marks. Whereas, with NON-CHEATERS; you would not know the Killer was near you until it was too late.
Or how about traps? 1 Survivor sees them, and then entire hive-mind of Cheat With Friends now knows where it is. Same with Totems, which makes Hex perks garbage.
Voice comms are literally cheating. They are using a 3rd party program 'to gain an unfair advantage over other players' or 'gain an advantage the game was not meant to have'.
Voice coms are, by definition, cheating. End of story. No argument can counter this hard fact.
And the fact that the devs ignore how badly they break the game just makes the game worse and worse. What's the point of perks that remove your TR when Cheat With Friends can give play-by-plays? 'Killer is camping me with Insidious! He's off to your right!'
What's the point of Hex perks when Survivors can tell Cheat With Friends where they saw the totem?
What's the point of stealth Killers when 1 Cheat With Friend sees you, so they all know where you are?
Just because the devs gave up trying to balance around voice cheats does not mean they are not cheats.
We said this multiple times, using voice comms is not cheating, you can dislike it, but please avoid spreading false information, we even have dedicated voice chats in our Official Discord for people to play together.

As Pulsar already explained (thank you for that) the team is working on a fix, hopefully they resolve it soon.
-
The one thing I despise and always had was facing Hags with the deafening traps, that's something that really hurt me!
-
There is not need to open a new thread, you can explain your thoughts on the previous one that is still open and going, let's avoid making multiple threads on the same topic, thank you.
-
Without mentioning the BP multiplier, I think BBQ is better because you can "control" when you receive the aura reading, while with Bitter Murmur sometimes you get it in situations where you can't do anything about it, like mid-chase and a gen pops out of your FOV, most likely you are not going to drop the chase or to look around just to see people's auras away from you when you have a Survivor a couple of steps in front of you.
Of course if you play Huntress, Bitter Murmur can lead to neat shots, so if you enjoy it, go for it!

Happy Holidays to everyone!
Enjoy your time off, have fun, eat a lot of good food and most importantly stay safe!
