He had BBQ as well and something else. I complemented his build afterwards and he directed me towards a streamer who is apparently a hillbilly guru - I forget the name. Anyhow it worked in that particular game but yes you are right...hammer time.

Yeah but rank doesn't matter. You don't get anything for it. You only go for rank 1 to get the achievements and then you're cursed to stay in red ranks for the rest of your days. Ranking up is more bad than good. You just get long lobby times and toxic matches at high ranks.
Yes. And for purpose of doing killer rift challenges de-pipping is probably beneficial.

I think I agree - Surveillance is a really useful perk. Time is a precious commodity for killers and it helps you use it optimally.
Having said that I have been absolutely wrecked recently by a hillbilly who paired Discordance with Infectious Fright and made it pay handsomely...
Discordance can work but its power is out of your control. I think over an extended period of games Surveillance would provide more benefit.

Its a common case round these parts. Even a layman can spot the symptoms although it is sometimes mis-diagnosed as 'git gud' syndrome.

Medical journal 13/12/19.
A patient reported to me today with these symptoms:
-Not having fun
-Exhaustion
-Seeing gens go too quickly
-Told me about some strange bug no-one else has seen that made him dizzy.
I immediately diagnosed the symptoms of 'burnout' and prescribed 4 weeks rest from Dead by Daylight and a course of Civilisation.

I did run an obsession perk.
One failed attempt I did not see the obsession at all until at the exit gate. The other one I cant really remember - maybe I saw them once but wasn't able to down them.
I could have used a mori that's true. But I like the simplicity of my 'one and done' hooking strategy.
Someone else mentioned using Nemesis. I don't have that.

This is not a question of good or bad its about efficiency.
I chose Leatherface for this challenge because once the obsession is on the hook the kill is guaranteed. I could have played normally but it would have taken longer and I still have a lot of rift to do.

If you have so much skill why don't you play a round of leatherface in high rank, record it and post it here? The poster wasn't asking for your opinion on his style of gameplay that he used for that particular match. He was just saying how he got it done quickly. Take your negative comments elsewhere please.
Thank You. Exactly. This is a thread about getting the rift challenge done quickly and indirectly how the rift promotes suboptimal gameplay.

What's amazing is that once the survivor's see you are prepared to facecamp an entire struggle stage then often the second and ALWAYS the third one you catch will just give up on the hook.
You end up getting back all the time you wasted at the start and the 4K comes back into play!

yes, they may have made the game, but we put more hours into playing and testing their game, i know. i agree they should listen to us a little more... but maybe the reason they don't listen to us enough is because some people act like spoiled rotten, entitled, only children, and you scream your heads off when you don't get exactly what you want exactly when you want it...

I don't want to believe that they deliberately set out to scam people but this seems to happen often enough that its wise to be cautious when thinking of buying new DLC.

Yes I agree. I tried builds with it where I use Knockout as well but it never seems to play out in reality like it does in my mind.

Why would you wait so long? I would have reset the lobby after 5-10 minutes and if that didn't work play killer or something else entirely.

Empathy is good entertainment. Whilst you are sat bored doing a gen you can watch a chase on the other side of the map.

Add some more voices to the character's like Ash has.
It would be great if Kate could sing some of her greatest hits whilst in the trials such as 'Dance with Me' or 'Windows of Opportunity' or even just murmur them under her breath.

The correct play here is to wait until the killer is looking the other way then open one door partially to lure him over. Meanwhile stealth over to the other door and open that one a bit.
Repeat until one door is opened. Lure the killer for one final chase, loop him for a minute or 2, cleanse a totem or open a chest on the way and escape seconds before the end game collapse.

Had never heard of the game until I read an article (on eurogamer I think) saying it was coming to PS4.
The concept really appealed to me and I pre-ordered which is really really unusual for me. Nearly cancelled when some lunatic at Destructoid reviewed it at 3/10 but for some reason I still went with it.
And here I am now 2 years later a burnt out jaded husk addicted to harvesting blue icicles to unlock hats for characters I don't play...

Not sure what your survivor queues are like but mine are terrible. For maximum BP per hour its killer all the way...

Have you played Oni PS4 yet? Sadly his charge has no curve to it on PS4 (very little anyway) and the frames drop horrendously!
Unless they can optimize PS4, Oni is a basic M1 without a power. You don't even have to 360 his insta down you can literally just move to the left or right.
Not yet. I like to read the feedback on the forum first. Needless to say I wont be getting him unless something changes...
I understand that he is fiddly. Like nurse he sounds like a PC design shoe-horned into console - I hate that.

When there was the sequence Pig, Clown, Spirit I really felt like they were on top of their killer designs. (say what you like about the clown I think he's good..)
The ones after that are OK but I have not enjoyed them so much.

I'm not win at all costs but I don't want to be stomped either.
Times I've tried a fun killer build its mainly the survivors that have had the fun. Wouldn't be so bad but you know what survivors are like - want to rub it in or be waved off at the exit gate.
For killer these days Ill usually run Ruin, PGTW and BBQ for every build and one 'fun' perk which I change out.

My experience is that killers rule at green rank on PS4.
I don't think I escaped more than once last night. The quality of survivors isn't good at that rank. I don't know if its the rift or what making people do stupid things....
One thing common to most of my green rank games - someone always goes down very early. It sets the tone for the match and its very frustrating.

The Kate one is quite nice but at the end of the day its a white T-shirt. Its not good camo....that's why I hardly use it anyhow...

Here is my compromise:
Give the cosmetics to all who want them.
BUT
If you didn't earn them in the event then in game all other survivors and the killer just see you in normal gear. Only the owner can see them.

He's not as good on console as he is on PC due to hardware limitations.
He's also far from completely useless on console, as many console players who've managed to do well with him in spite of not being able to "flick" easily can attest.
Do you think they should have taken a bit more time and care and done a better job with him on console?

On console he's bad. If you go against anyone who isn't a complete potato, you're going to get looped to oblivion until you get your power, and even after you get your power you still going to get looped.
