After seeing the X in between the DBD and RE logos and a quote from Claire it seems really likely that Mr. X will be the killer
-
Schoolyard rumors in 2021
-
We don't even need bots honestly. Just having an AFK Dwight/Trapper on the map of our choice would be very helpful.
-
Only thing I feel when I play this game is disappointment in my teammates
-
They're shadownerfing the Twins so that Charlotte loses collision after 20 seconds so this won't be possible anymore

@RepostRiposte that is exactly what iam trying to point. If the hook grabs would be removed, that will end up with survivor which is unhooking will go down and will be sacrificed. If it would be just these types of situations, Isn't that a punishment for a bad play?
I would be happy af if survivors would get me such an easy kills like this, literary free hooks.
I don't really see why we should reward plays like that though. If they don't want to get grabbed they can stop doing dumb unhooks for their Youtube montage.
-
I really don't believe you when you say that you never are in situations where hook grab is useful because you don't camp
Plenty of survivors do stupid stuff trying to put you in their montage like:
- Standing right behind you while hooking and immediately unhooking
- Following you into basement and doing the same/getting into a locker and unhooking as soon as you step away
- Take chases to a hooked survivor so they or their friend can unhook with you standing right there
If hook grabs were removed these would result in a trade instead of being punished for being really really bad plays
-
It's probably just him hunching over when in chase that's making him look faster.
-
Everyone in this thread is really just like
"What's their problem why don't they just play a few dozen hours of incredibly boring and one-sided matches where they have no idea what they are doing?"
Have yall ever heard of making a good first impression? Anyone I've ever introduced to this game plays a few matches where they run into walls, hold M1, and don't know how to loop and they say "That was boring as hell, refund it".
And rightfully so. If you don't go into DBD already having seen higher level play and with the knowledge that the gameplay gets better, it really is an F-tier game.
Might as well do what we can to make the new player experience marginally better. Not like this would hurt anyone.
-
They should probably sort out the bug right now where the game randomly boots you from the match but otherwise I agree.
DC penalty needs to be more strict.
-
Everyone keeps talking about the size difference but Mr. X and most Tyrants that don't have crazy machine guns strapped to them are about the same size as Oni.

thanks man 👍

Funny thing about a number of those saying it depends I've noticed.
The comment seems to go along the lines of there are situations depending on what the survivors do that killers have to camp.
Seems like another way to say it is necessary to camp if the survivors have progressed to a certain point, or they are doing good.
I'm really curious now as to why those same people who say that seem so uncomfortable admitting that they find camping neccesary
See this is the problem with your post/argument. Its biased.
" Seems like another way to say it is necessary to camp if the survivors have progressed to a certain point, or they are doing good. I'm really curious now as to why those same people who say that seem so uncomfortable admitting that they find camping necessary."
You are already under the presumption that camping is some magical instant-win button when it simply isn't. You're clearly refusing to acknowledge that camping is situational and just want to slander everyone who picks option 1 as a villain.
You can't label the option called "Necessary" as "Necessary in all situations, useful in all situations, or useful in some situations" and the other option, "Useless" as simply "Completely pointless in all situations." That's not offering 2 equal and opposite choices to a yes/no question, you're conflating many different viewpoints into one option and assigning only one to the other.
If you're not going to label the choices as they are then you might as well name them red choice and blue choice.
Make a third option next time.

They mentioned a while back about getting rid of the ranked perks and only having a single tier for all of them. This would cut it by an insane 66%. That idea might be questionable to them now as lots of people's interest in the game is perpetuated by the grind itself.
Personally, I feel the grind is much better than how it used to be. I remember a time before archives and god forbid without bubba.
Edit : also you never used to get 4 perks at lvl 50 plus
Eh, everyone talks about how bad the grind was before Legacy blah blah blah... but honestly the grind got worse since then. Even assuming the grind took 6 times as long (which it didn't, even without BBQ) that still wouldn't amount to the grind required now.
Early DBD:
- 4 Survivors
- 3 Killers
- 7 Characters to level, no BBQ, no Archives/BP codes but the occasional Bloodhunt/rush
Now:
- 23 Killers
- 25 Survivors
- 48 Characters to level, BBQ, Archives/easier dailies/BP codes but we barely get any BP events
The grind would had to have been at least 7x worse than the current grind to be longer, which I just simply don't believe to be true even with the boosts from challenges. And before someone mentions how the bloodwebs were bad back then (they were), I just want to say how much garbage clogs up modern bloodwebs. I'd rather be getting gray toolboxes than Deadman's Switch and a basement offering.
Maybe I'm being disingenuous counting the survivors since they aren't really necessary to level, but then again Meg and Claudette were the only survivors people cared about in 2016.

Welcome back to another edition of Mods or No Mods, the show where we compare Rizzo and MandyTalk's timezones to OP's and see how long it takes them to close a thread.
-
Here's what it looks like (my screenshot) for anyone wondering.
Seems like it only happens when a match goes on for over 15 minutes. I don't think its a memory leak because my game runs perfectly normal afterwards, I just get a penalty and have to requeue.
On a sidenote, Zubat just got a matchmaking penalty for Steam maintenance booting him from a match right before he died. Maybe there should be some kind of system for unintentional vs. intentional DC's? Not like many people will straight up pull their ethernet cable to abuse it.
-
That honestly sounds worse than the current mori. The only scenario where you would be able to use it when more than 2 survivors are alive (at which point moris are bad because they open hatch instantly) is if you
- Sacrifice 1 survivor
- 2 are on death hook
- Last one has 1 hook
So the only valid use case for this new mori would be taking a single hook off of a 3v1 with the other 2 on death hook. This change would not be worth BHVR's time and its honestly better now that moris are mostly cosmetic (and for challenges).

Strongest: Nurse
Weakest: Trapper
(Though after so many hours playing this game I've run into a few ultra-sweat squads as Myers. I don't usually run good addons so maybe that kinda skews my opinion but getting out of T1 and having to sit around staring at them while their friends slam generators on the other end of Yamaoka is just brutal. Myers is pretty bad without crazy addons. Legion is also terrible. Pig you can at least stack gen delay with traps and play as a normal M1 killer.)
-
This would also make hatch open immediately after sacrificing the second-to-last survivor, incentivizing killers to slug for 4K more often because they have way worse odds of finding hatch.
-
- Bubba for BBQ - Doubles your BP
- Killers with good perks - Hag for Ruin/Devour Hope, Plague for Corrupt Intervention/Infectious Fright, Blight for Undying, Clown for Pop etc.
- Good killers you are interested in - Spirit, Oni, Blight, Hag, Pyramid Head
Bubba, Hag, and Blight will get you most of the best perks and are also good killers in and of themselves. BBQ + Ruin + Undying + Sloppy (free perk) is meta on all M1 killers.
-
Pretty sure they already did a "fix" for red stains going through walls a while back. It's only on certain tiles you can see it on low graphics.
Also where did you hear they are blocking off gaps in walls? They just reworked Father Campbell's Chapel and that has holes to throw stuff through so not sure who told you that.

I know this needs to be fixed but the situation sounds hilarious in my head
Yeah same. Hoping someone posts video or this happens to me in-game.

???
How does wasting 4 other peoples' time help anyone
-
I feel like we should at least get R6-style markers for soloQ.
Even something simple like yellow marker for generators, red marker for killer, and blue marker for totems would be very helpful. Probably the best BHVR will do for soloQ since they obviously won't give aura reading that SWF gets for free because perks like Bond exist. Ideally they would give full auras on teammates most of the time and buff killers to compensate but... not my game to design.
-
The issue is much worse right now because chest drops are seemingly bugged.
Key escapes are usually pretty rare but I wouldn't be opposed to some changes.
-
I don't really care about licenses, I just want gameplay

But if they are dumb gimmicks then what is the point of spending 7000 Bloodpoints to get them?
For fun. Not like you can exactly pick and choose what addons you buy anyways.
Tombstone is objectively inferior to tombstone piece but combining it with infinite T3 is pretty neat.
I just think that one-time use powerups that drastically enhance a killer's power diminish the game's competitiveness and are frankly unnecessary.
-
Might be a bit of a hot take but I like where they're going with the new ultra-rare addons.
They should be dumb gimmicks instead of straight upgrades that only the players with tons of BP to burn get to use.

"I didn't like the result of a discussion, so I'm gonna do it again but with extremely polarized choices so that I can get the result I want and create 2 sides of an argument that is clearly not a black and white issue."

well at least you cant get facecamped the entire game i guess that fun
You can though
Its very easy for the specter to just wait for someone to pick up your spirit and then kill them for an ezgg

Honestly I just thought I was going crazy. Glad to see someone else talking about the bug.

1. SoloQ bad
2. Survivor queues bad

untrue, myers exposes everyone for 60 seconds, everyone, so all he has to do is 99 and find a group of 2 or more survivors to have already gained more value, also smart myers mains arent even gonna go for swings in tier one so thats irrelevant, and tier 3 extra lunge not being useful is simply false
If survivors are grouping up against the killer who instadowns for 60 seconds they're bad enough to where you could beat them without a power.
Ghostface isn't limited by a finite amound of stalk, gains power more quickly, has undetectable on demand, and is capable of 180'ing the game with some well-timed 99 stalks.
Myers is entirely predictable and the only value T3 has is the lunge if survivors split up instead of waiting around to get stabbed.
And how is T1 not a disadvantage? You have to waste time staring at people you could be chasing and pushing off gens. Sounds pretty bad to me.
-
Congrats you won the forum race
-
"Mr. Blue Sky" by Electric Light Orchestra
-
Happened to me from survivor POV. Ran him for the first 2 gens, couldn't pick me up, then got chased for the next 3 gens and everyone escaped. Makes Haddonfield even worse than it already is.
-
I expected Sluzzy but this works too I guess
-
Sounds great, though BastardKing's idea is more like what BHVR would do since the original concept would reduce the grind a little too much for their tastes.

I HIGHLY doubt it, 3 perk slots that are only useful when you're injured sounds like a dumb decision to do
Pretty sure the Calm Spirit part was a joke.

You could assume the reason for this is to tweak numbers without having to change a bunch of descriptions.
Well then that's just lazy. What's the point of having descriptions if they don't accurately describe what the item/perk/add-on does.
Not to mention it's not like they are constantly changing values across the board MMO style. Sure there may be the occasional add-on pass like for Demo and Huntress this chapter but its not as if replacing a couple words for each description would take any time at all. In fact, using numerical values instead of flavor text would probably help correct some of the many grammatical mistakes.

10% of what? We don't have base numbers either.
You know what I meant
Instead of saying something "slightly", "moderately", "considerably", or "tremendously" increases/decreases something, give specific numbers. The comment above is a good example.
-
@Mr_K said:
There's too much information in this game to spell out everything. Give a new player a two inch thick book on how to play and it will end up being ignored. That's why games these days have fan run wiki's to collect useful information for other players.
God forbid we replace "tremendously" with "10%"
Surely this will overwhelm the people reading through perk descriptions in search of useful, specific information about said perks

My man woke up and chose violence
-
Yall are crazy even debating if this is a nerf or a buff. Even at rank 1 the majority of killers don't pay close attention to footsteps and breathing, let alone blood.
The new Lucky Break will be much, much more effective against the average killer.
-
It doesn't
-
Sometimes I get bored playing normally but I still enjoy dumb roleplay builds.
Like naming myself Parkour Wraith and climbing on top of rocks/furniture using the decloak speed. Or playing bartender at the saloon.
You can get to some pretty crazy spots on Ormond with max PWYF as Wraith but there are invisible walls preventing you from jumping off the outside balcony.
-
This already happened with Doctor sometime in 2020. Had no terror radius for a patch.
