  • I'd rather have proper balancing and fixes than anything else. I can deal with bad maps if the perks and items are balanced.

Why should he be joking? Dont you care about the baby survivors in the grass at the edge of the map??? What kind of monster are you????

It's their fault for not even trying to hide from BBQ. They can learn of it's effects from the after game menu... and from the killer bio.

I'm a killer main. It's in the title.

  • Don't forget more Corrupt intervention and Dying Light use.

  • I hope you are joking... I hope to the Entity that this is a joke post.

  • Your name plus the topic is just perfect together... XD

  • It doesn't really matter what the intentions are, but the results seem to show to players that: ''We won't take care of the core issues of the game, but we will make it easier for the larger core base of players so we can make new cosmetics for the money...'' because that is what it looks like.

It screams of: We won't treat the sickness, but we will treat the symptoms.

It won't help the game's life span later...

  • Make an offline mode, people will play the game against bots if they get frustrated against toxic people. It also teaches them slowly how to use killers powers without being thrown against others.

  • Depending on which side you asked, DW either got nerfed or buffed. Obviously you know which side thinks what.

  • @altruistic said:

DS and BT have both been nerfed.

DS has been changed now 3 times.

BT was changed a long time ago.

BT got buffed twice. Mend time reduced and doesn't tick down when running. All when Oni got released.

DS is easily abusable for the power it has. It's ''nerf'' wasn't so much a nerf.

  • @LemeTheMeme said:

Make it so that once every generator, you can mori someone that has previously been hooked.

At the moment Moris I find more broken than keys since moris can be used at 5 gens, whereas keys you need to complete gens for it to spawn.

But games are often done so quickly, can't it be in the killer's favor for once? I'd rather have it after everyone's been hooked once instead of once every gen.

And keys take way less skill than Moris do. If you mori at the wrong time you can still lose, you can also never be able to use it against survivors if they're never caught.

  • I've been saying pretty much the same thing, why are they treating the symptoms instead of the illness...? It'd be way better for everyone if they did better balancing.

Ruin was best perk to buy time while setting down traps, now its gone.

And noed is bad and a crutch. Good game on Hag means pressuring them down before they do 3rd gen, and completly destroy them with constant teleportation before 4th gen

NOED isn't always a crutch, it can also be a good endgame clincher. I can't tell you how many times I've caught the last person with a key and denied it with NOED. XD

  • It's not that ruin's too bad now, since it had easy counters, but that it was to stop early game rushes to buy time for your efforts as a killer to mean something. If you ever tried keeping your ruin up intentionally, it would be a waste of your efforts.

It could be changed with corrupt intervention easily.

But I wouldn't want it changed until the core issue was fixed. Until that, Ruin should stay the same.

  • Iridescent button is the strongest, not because of the ability to kill someone or infinite exposed, or the ability to mori people... it gives you information on all survivors at any given time, and makes them unable to know if the Legion is coming or not. It causes chaos even if the killer isn't there, and that can be far more lethal than permanent expose effect.

  • I don't like to use it, but it's necessary for experimentation. I prefer to use Dying Light/Dark Devotion myself...

  • What they are doing is treating the symptoms, not the illness. By nerfing ruin, they're not addressing why Ruin was so widely used in the first place...

  • New Ruin could work... against a game that actually takes long enough for it to matter.

As of now, it's a really bad idea for a change. I expect to see lots of Pop Goes the Weasel and Corrupt Intervention with these changes.

I think the price to use the Slenderman image will be huge and his speed I almost the Sprint burst speed. Absolutely no

Slenderman belongs to Creative commons, so the use of it would be free if redesigned.

It would give Lullaby a chance to be effective early game even if they decreased 5 hooks total to like 3. Make it slightly more viable compared to Ruin.

Even then, it's still worse than ruin because of how it works.

I personally think the oni's ultra rares need buffs. both of em. Why do I want an infectious fright that only works when i miss and only effects 12 meters. Like how the ######### can I actually use that add on.

I mean, there's no point to that addon... or the addon for demogorgon where you can see injured auras. Quite A few of them need buffs/changes... and some killers need red addons to begin with.

I think that if they don't get Springtrap/Afton, their second pick should be the twisted animatronics from the twisted ones. They seem to fit DbD more.

I don't like the twisted ones personally, but if it gets in, maybe the Nightmares could be cosmetics or something...

Honestly if they inverted how Lullaby worked (Start with no warning and every hook after increases warning time), the perk would likely be more viable. Every time I run Lullaby it’s found before the effect is even noticeable.

Inverted the warning time? You mean the skill check notification? That would be weird...

I just wish the hex wouldn't alert people as soon as you have a skill check.

I wish we could get more c

Game changing effects instead of game breaking effects. I like the new ultra rare ideas but the devs are kinda making them too weak

I agree. I wish they would buff the Matchbox and Fuming Mixtape to be honest, hose are way weaker than they deserve to be.

  • I would like them to be able to set up traps in certain areas that can get a hit in and go away... something that makes them feel like a Legion?

I like where they're at alone, but their power does nothing to help you down people. I think that having traps that can down people who get close enough (or just injure those who are healthy) would be a great addition to a potentially powerful kit.

  • Thrill and Huntress' Lullaby both shouldn't be hexes. Their impacts are so small that they don't deserve to be switched off.

Yeah but there shouldn't be must run perks like that. Without Whispers its a gamble

It doesn't seem like a must run perk yet. You could run Spies, Thrilling Tremors, BBQ, or Dischordance.

But I'll just have to wait and see how this goes with him first.

And Demogorgon was a nice change of pace. Something robotic or beastly would add something fresh to the rotation of killers. It doesn’t have to be FNAF specifically.

I know. I'd like to see this too. : )

Something in the realm of other things, like a robot (they've got the terminator on the now dead Deathgarden, I don't see why it can't be used here), or something. Heck, it can even be an alien (an Elite or Brute from Halo would be cool to go against, Brutes literally have eaten people in the books).

  • I think this would be a good addition if done well. If they can't add him, then add the Nightmares, since they also fit the style of DBD quite well.

I feel as though a non-human killer would be a fresh addition the game needs. Something beastly/animalistic or robotic (not FNAF in particular) would be cool.

As long as it can fit the skeleton they’ve created (stands on two legs and is human-like in structure) that it’s not off the table.

They've said (the devs) that they'll stick to humanoids, which this does fit under (it's the reason why the Demogorgon was able to be added).

  • Hm... Not sure it'd be that good... then again I play on Xbox, where hatchets are way worse. I'd rather see it on PC first to see how it'd work before it is brought to console.

  • I would actually like to see Slender or Spingtrap (controversial, I know, but I know that they could fit if implemented well). I have ideas for both, but I've only put one on here... mainly because I'd want to polish one more than the other. My Slender Chapter is below (It is based off of the Blue Isle Studios version, because I like that version and it gives a possible survivor):

    @Raven014 said:

    Chapter: The Arrival:

Now, unlike some people, I do think a certain character can make their debut in DBD without issues.

Chapter Theme: A mix of No Friends and DBD theme.

    The Killer: The Slenderman:

Lore: Long rumored to be a folk tale under many names: The Tall man, the child taker, the spirit of the forest... the Slenderman... his name has echoed through history. Now he stalks the realm of the entity, and those he preys on have no hope of escape.

    Default Movement speed: 140%

    Killer Kit:

    Passive: Static Image

This passive allows Slender to put up pages around the map (On gens and totems). This effects the game in a few ways. One, it gives bloodpoints to both the killer and survivors. Two, Survivors will pull the page off before starting the action (less effective on gens but effective for totems). Three, you gain a notification when a page is taken.

Four, pages cause hallucinations that Slender can teleport to, as well as linger. At 0 pages, he is completely invisible. At 1, he can only have hallucinations at a fair distance, and they get closer at a slow rate. For each page, the spawning distance decreases substantially. Before 5 pages, he can strike rapidly, which disincentives survivors not gathering pages to avoid unnecessary hits (i.e. Jumpscares), while at 5, he can strike normally, but he will have a distortion effect even harder to read than the Spirit's. At 6, he will start to move like the Spirit, with distortions between them. At 8 he will look normal, with Hallucinations still appearing. This is when he's at his strongest and you will be exposed at this point.

Pages also cause a debuff to all survivor actions for each survivor. A 90% debuff with no pages collected, and +10% increase to action speed for each page, with the downside that they are making the killer more powerful.

However, survivors cannot escape without getting all pages. Not even through the Hatch. Each survivor must collect all 8 themselves. They only secure their own escape.

    Secondary Passive: Anti-corn blindness:

Since he's the tallest killer, he will never be affected by corn maps in the same way most killers are. More of a joke passive, tbh.

    Active abilities:

    Proxy Trap:

By pressing active ability button, you can manifest one of your past proxies to attack any survivor who approaches the locker they are near. The will jump out, perform an animation (Kate would do her scratching, Toby would attack with hatchets... etc...) and the survivor would receive one state of damage (healthy to injured, and injured to dying). Borrowed time will activate because of this. DS can be activated if the trap would put into the dying state to negate that attack.

If a survivor Runs into a locker, there will be a sound of a proxy attacking the survivor, before the survivor is ejected out.

    Scattering Pages:

The killer can choose where to place pages. This would place a page on a highlighted area (can be a wall, object, or locker).

    Hallucination or Reality?:

He can teleport with the secondary button press. If he teleports, he has a small window to strike a survivor (Standard melee attack like a hag trap).

    Perks:

    Survivor's Obsession:

Survivors who have seen you have your image burned to their head. Hallucinations will appear to move toward them for 10/8/5 seconds before disappearing after they see you for the first time. They will scream in response.

    Horror's Past:

Those who linger too long will experience a horrifying moment of the location's past. Survivor's who stand still/stay in one place/are afk will see a scene of a killer mori'ing a survivor (the killer of the match). This is a hallucination, but they cannot move for the duration. They will scream in terror when it ends.

    Haunting Shadows:

The light may be your ally now, but it is always night in the trials. Pits of shadow spawn sporadically, restricting movement through the map. If left unattended, Survivors will have entire swaths of the map impossible to traverse (24m, 28m, 32m). These can be burned away by a flashlight or by the light of finished generators.

    Mori:

He uses two of his tendrils to pick up the struggling survivor by the arms, and then uses more to stab from multiple directions up through the lower torso. The struggling ceases after a moment, in which the survivor dies, and he drops them to the ground.

Terror Radius/Chase Music: Flicker: Slender: The Arrival Soundtrack (I mean, listen to this then tell me it wouldn't be a good chase music for him).

    Survivor: Lauren:

Lore: Lauren is one of a few to have lost family to the Slenderman and survive... until she went missing during a wildfire in the woods a decade later. Armed with the truth of the horror she saw, she brings a new item, the camera, to document and understand the killers of the fog better in order to escape better.

    Perks:

    Understanding:

Understanding the killer is one of the best ways to counter them. After watching the killer for 120/100/80 seconds, their method of killing will become known to you.

If this involves traps, you will be able to notice them better.

If this has a charge bar, you can see the bar for it flash on screen when they use it near you.

You will see the Duration of Myer's T3

However, addons like Logwood Dye and Tar Bottle, Rusty Shackles will counter this perk. Addons that effect charge times for abilities will not show any change to you.

This does not work with the Clown, Huntress, Micheal Myers T2 progress, Nurse's Blinks, Freddy's Teleport, Legion's Recharge, GF recharge, or Demogorgon's Charge.

    Record:

Recording the killer can help you show others their weaknesses. Allows you to have a camera. After using half of a camera's charges, you can use the camera to reveal the aura of traps in the vicinity.

A camera is a new item added to the game. Half the charges must be used filming the killer or their belongings for the effect to take place. This will show the auras of traps and totems in an 8/10/12 m radius of the survivor (for the perk, but the item by itself would be just 8m). Addons can change the rate/amount of charges/ and radius of the effect.

Using it would be aimed like a flashlight.

    Pain of Loss:

You know what it's like to lose those you consider dear to you. For every survivor death near you (20m or less), gain a token. For every token, you can shrug off one lethal hit (one that would put you in the dying state).

When you lose a token, you will receive the deep wounds effect and cannot lose another token in that chase.

    What does everyone think?

    Edit: Added relevant music.

  • Well, I wouldn't say this for sure... but it's a perk that massively reduces the grind for killers... and so... I think they don't want the perk that can cut the grind down to be accessible as often as perks like Breakdown, Quick and Quiet or Dead Hard.

That way more people play the game...

    ...but that's just a theory...

  • Most red addons, as @Marcus mentioned, are not making the killer more powerful, but changing the gameplay style of the killers they're used on. For example, Nurse has Torn Bookmark and Matchbox. These change how nurse plays, as the Bookmark gives nurse 3 blinks, but limits how they are used (line of sight only), and Matchbox makes Nurse default speed faster, at the cost at a single blink.

They are not designed to be overpowered, and require skill to be able to use effectively.

However, survivor items and addons are insanely strong (not as strong as when instaheals were a thing, but still very strong) one of which can guarantee an escape of any survivor in the game with its mere presence. Survivors do not need more broken items. I would like to see more items for them to use, but not with overly strong effects attached to them.

  • I'd rather have all offerings be secret than only just a few.

How the entity chooses who to pull to the other side

    Makes no sense

Partially cleared up by Revelations/Instruction manual, there are a few factors.

    Killers:

    a) Have been traumatized/committed a traumatizing action in a way that irreversibly changes/breaks them. (Common trait of almost all killer bios)

    b) Can be controlled/convinced to willingly kill/attack other survivors. (All bios, perk descriptions, certain addon descriptions, and instruction manual)

    c) Are, for all intents and purposes, evil in the eyes of humans (Freddy, Shape). (All bios)

    d) Or are Monsters (Demogorgon and essentially Oni). (Bios)

    Survivors:

    a) They are individuals who will not be missed by many people. (Common trait of all Bios)

    b) Their worlds have no knowledge of the Entity. (revealed by Archives: Arcus logs)

    c) Have a high capacity for Hope (those who do not have hope are of no use to it, and will either be ignored or sent to the Void). (Referred to in the Instruction manual and Benedict Baker Journal.)

These are the basic variables I can think of now, there can be more.

  • @Talmeer said:

That throws a interesting question in the room...

The survivor can maybe hope that they can 1 day go back to the real world and live a normal life again (with that memories... brrr...). Maybe also shown ingame, via some new ingame feature someday.

...But for what can killers hope?

Some like Spirit have an advantage, because of their powers, but the most killers... They can only hope to stay forever in the entity realm, or they would be overwhelmed by police forces, as soon as they know where to find them.

Exist somewhere in the world of the entity, something like an "Sovengarde for killers" (yeah I play to many Skyrim)?

What can a killer hope to achieve at the end?

Well, if the entity were to die, who is to say that they wouldn't be brought back to their original times and places? Some (like the Plague, Hag, and Pig) will die, but others (like Micheal, Legion, and others) may live out their lives hiding from the rest of the world.

Or maybe in a last attempt to survive it would take all the remaining emotions from the killers and then toss them into the void... but who knows?

  • That is apparently the electron configuration of gold on the board... Cheeky devs.

  • I like games that are more relaxed, when I don't have to be a sweaty tryhard all the time... and I only find that at purple or lower.

  • They added things like the momentum mechanic to stop abuses of certain windows if not looped properly. It's a good QOL change.

  • This would be the biggest toxic move you can do (without hacking, and my opinion). It denies the killer points (or perks if you’re the obsession), and screws over your teammates.

If I see a dc in a game, I’ll be willing to go easy or farm with the remaining survivors, as a big middle finger to the one that left. I can’t stand it when they do that.

  • Legion because Julie... and being a stabby stabby kind of person myself. : P

It'd be great to have some short story of survivor interaction. I mean sure they do it to survive but why save each other? Especially at first why risk the chance of them being hooked and sacrificed? Of course they learn how to play the entities twisted game but I would like to see some interaction. You know, like David walking to the campfire a bit tipsy with a beer bottle. Jack asking how he found it and David replying it was in a chest and said. "I thought, If I'm gonna get ######### up, at least on my own terms." Takes a swig and offers it. Which Jack declines so then David goes back to drinking. Claudette being a loner off in the distance looking at some pretty summer lilacs thinking of home. Dwight trying to cheer up and be the leader he always wanted starts speaking up talking about how "they can do this!" and prodding the others about their past. With Jack feeling more uncomfortable, he eventually leaves the campfire and takes a walk who is soon joined with Claudette who have a talk before Dwight runs past them telling the duo "they need to go. now" with a worried expression. As the trial has started. (I would add more but like dialogue but of course I'm not that great at lore and would want canon lore, I also prefer drawing.) Just little things post trial to build a relationship with the survivors and make them more human and not teabagging overpowered bullies (it's a joke please don't kill me) I don't or want a huge story arc, but just little here and there.

I would love to see interactions between characters. We kind of know about them by Benedict Baker’s quotes, but they stopped after Darkness Among Us.

We know that some killers share realms (Leatherface + Hag, Huntress + Plague, Clown + Nurse, Spirit + Oni), so they must have a... cordial relationship... at least... and Wraith and Nurse are shown to be a little closer.

I thought already that, but I wouldn't mind some story-snippets from example of the Legion, what they are doing then on their old House in Ormond.

I know, there is such a lack of detail on that subject. I don't think the archives will answer that either, since it's more focused on character events than general information.

You also have to realize that not all players care about piping. Your opinion of a victory is piping but for most of the average players in this game, it's escaping. Do you not understand the end goal of a survivor? It's escaping.

There's a reason it's a asymmetrical game but if you want to make it more complicated then it should be then fine but that's on your end lol.

I know that, but that is what the game itself considers a win. That is what the sweatier players will care about. So saying some people won't care doesn't contribute much.

Yeah, which means the survivors shouldn't be able to overpower the killer, since it's 1v4. It's already heavily survivor sided (look at the meta build at red and tell me that's balanced), and this makes it worse. The solo side must be able to take on the other side in a fair game... and it doesn't always feel fair.

Then again I talk from red ranks.

1 … 29 30 31 32 33 … 73
