But it's still usable by the sound of it?

Thanks. I had a bit of success when I tried it before, getting an early hit on the Obsession then nearly making a generator grab. I flubbed it, but the Survivor did say afterwards I gave them a scare.

(Sorry if this double posts, my initial reply vanished for some reason)

Oh yeah, Legion still works as normal, you just don't have a TR (for 30 seconds), which is great!

I think the best option is limiting the tier of perks at lower ranks. If you delete ruin, then nobody learns how to deal with it. If you only allow tier 1 perks at rank 20, and tier 2 perks at ranks 16-19, you mitigate the damage, while still learning to deal with it. Even if you have a perk at T3, it only works to T1/T2 based on rank.

When you get these killers/survivors with full tier 3 perks at rank 20 who go on to destroy all in their way, that is not healthy for the game.

I hope you're only talking about certain perks, because perks like STBFL, Dark Devotion, and Brutal Strength are pathetic at tier 1.

Does Killer Instinct still work for finding Survivors in the Obsession's Terror Radius, then!

It doesn't work like that from what I've seen. It appears that KI works within a radius from you, the Legion, and that it happens to overlap with the TR most of the time. So no, KI doesn't break with Dark Devotion. I haven't tested this for certain though...

  • Unfortunately, because of the way the systems are designed within the game, reliable data is almost impossible to receive.

  • Well, it depends on what you're trying to do with it. I've found Dark Devotion to be really good, but that's because I try to take advantage of it immediately.

All the perks listed here can be really good, but its all about context, I suppose. I do really like Save the Best for Last as well...

  • Nurse is strongest, but most frustrating to play.

  • This is way too quick. I have ways of countering most of these playstyles but that one is by far the most infuriating, since If they want to rush there is no real way of countering it.

  • I made this build for legion: It's pretty unorthodox, but I've found success with it. I don't have a name for it, but it sows chaos...

    Favorite Killer: Legion

    Favored Build (at the moment):

    Perks:

    Corrupt intervention (Early game slowdown)

Dying Light (For later game slowdown)

Dark Devotion (For extra opportunities and chaos)

    BBQ (Points + Auras)

    Addons:

Both Rulers (You'll understand why when you read below)

    Why this build works:

This build is the result of asking myself: How could I make a legion that hides their TR when frenzied? Or in essence, how could I recreate the Darkness Among Us Trailer?

My first attempt was with Furtive Chase and Ruin instead of Dying Light and Dark Devotion, but that didn't exactly work the way it was intended... but I did sort of get the effect. People didn't realize they were running to me, but the effect was barely noticeable.

So I tried Dark Devotion, and that worked very well. People didn't expect it to occur. And it's even better on indoor maps (no shock there). Dark Devotion triggers only with a normal hit, so you can hit the obsession with frenzy, down them, and get the undetectable status and be on your way. You'll probably get frenzy back (because of the rulers) by the time you find them, so you can hit them all with frenzy for extra pressure, then down someone and apply Dying light stacks.

This playstyle will cause chaos, as they will not be able to rely on the TR to be reliable, and the game will be getting harder and harder for the survivors. You'll also be able to frenzy without a TR.

And you'll get lots of points.

But you have to slug the obsession a lot, or just hit them.

  • Why would this be a survivor offering? This is basically a yellow oak offering for the killers but for survivors.

  • Not impossible, but fundamentally harder. You don't have the initial slowdown that Ruin (or Corrupt Intervention) has. That's why most run it. If they don't, they usually have a plan in mind in order to force survivors to slow down (Dying Light/Devour Hope).

  • I think that the first one would be more in line with his perks (tinkerer) instead of the second. I would be fine with the first only.

  • This would be fun, but difficult for them to program... which is why they haven't done this yet. They'd have to program the AI to work on gens, to loop every structure, not to mention how they'd decide to use certain perks (DS/Head On/Dead Hard for example).

I think it should still be a strong spot. It can get in a Hit quite easily and Trapper can completely block this, and I dont think that this is that problematic (the Hook itself there should be removed or moved to a different place, because this is in fact like another Basement Hook).

I would rather let the Killer lose Collision when afk for 2 minutes.

Removing the hook would make that place safer than the harvesters. That was why it was added in the first place.

But the other suggestion would be fine.

  • Well, I'd argue that Iri heads are balanced on console since most people are terrible as huntress on there (including myself)...

  • Some killers will lie, but most either just saw the survivor themselves, a lack of a 3rd BBQ aura, or heard them around (because most killers can hear grass moving or survivors breathing. I can without stridor).

Saying DS has no counterplay and saying a 2s stun is fine is completely biased.

When did you started playing DBD?

Cause it looks you didnt't know what was this stun

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pg8QDxbwtps

    "Balance"

And yet people ask why it got changed.

It's the same as saying DS now is perfectly fine. With Locker + Grab abuse, and it having way more versatility for it's potential power in a match. It can easily turn the tide of a match in a heartbeat.

I started playing around the time Clown was released. That's why I'd want it back. Of course, I'd want some balance. Since it's getting a buff against those perks, it'd get more use, and people wouldn't be so keen to go against it. Hell, I'm suggest a nerf to my favorite perk exhaustion perk: Head On.

My suggested nerf to Enduring is make it not work with Spirit Fury, or have a reduced effect.

  • If you think that's bad, get Ironworks of Misery, Disturbed Ward, or Grim pantry with bad RNG. Gas Heaven is a perfectly fine map, all things considered. You can still win if you're skilled enough and know the loops.

  • @Rin_is_my_waifu said:

If killers get Ruin or BBQ basekit, I'm fine with it

    This.

Also, I really want punishment for trying to abuse it. Like deactivation or faster tick down for actions, since it's clear you're not being tunneled at that point.

  • @JC316 said:

STILL haven't gotten the trapper ones. How hard is to get 4 traps in a single match?!!?

If you place creative traps that survivors will often not expect, then it's an easier challenge than most. Same with 6 traps in a match.

  • I'm going to say the NOED challenges. It shouldn't be during the endgame collapse, since if you're not farming, then it's really hard to do.

It also shouldn't use a perk that survivor mains hate. It's the equivalent of a DS challenge for survivors. People hate to deal with it.

  • @laurelstroodle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/940044#Comment_940044

Than basically you agree with having a 2s stun? which will as well reward killers for tunneling?

Dont you remember the PTB where everyone was complaining about DS not having enough time for survivors to make distance..?

Yes. Either buff Enduring or nerf DS. It's a meta perk with no counterplay to it. It's easy to abuse as well.

Enduring at the moment has diminishing returns during the game. Mainly because people assume you will use it with Spirit Fury and will drop pallets sooner.

Those who use DS will jump in a locker, even if they weren't originally being chased by the killer. They feel it gives them a free pass to be dumb after unhooking. Pair that with Head On, and you can stun the killer then stun them again. It's ludicrous how easy it is to use for a game changing effect.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/940045#Comment_940045

Yeah but in the current state you slug a survivor but he can be picked up, and what about not going for the same survivor if he has ds?

Sometimes you need the extra pressure of a downed person. Slug then chase the rescuer. As a higher rank killer, any edge is required to win.

  • @DepressedClownMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/938704#Comment_938704

So you just slug the survivor with absolutely no penalty for doing so? How about people who use ds just get auto hooked when they hit the skill check so your life is easier

Well, you're already forced to slug with the current DS, so it's not like you're doing anything differently...

  • @laurelstroodle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/938800#Comment_938800

DS is a 5s stun, which 1s of them is an animation of getting out of the killer hands.

And btw it is bugged on some killers like freddy which reduces 1s of the DS stun...

so enduring would decrease it by 2s (like it was before)

    So 5-3

    2s of stun?

No thanks, and this is why devs make it to dont affect Head On or DS.

But it should be less abusable in that case. DS is incredibly powerful at the moment, and easy to use.

  • @Thatbrownmonster said:

But besides that I would love to know what that missing book is from the library

but I believe that will be answered

Yeah, those will probably come later... maybe Tome 4 or later (probably with the Nurse Tome).

  • That's the problem. The color indicates what type it is, so you can't change that without issue. The only thing I can think of is changing the color of the light around the Plague in Corrupt purge mode.

  • @sanki said:

man, you said so many words about DS. why don't we just focus on the Enduring...

Enduring is rather weak. It doesn't work on DS or Head On stuns, so it really only pairs with Spirit Fury. To the point where if you run Enduring by itself, people assume you have it and drop the pallet early, making the bonus less useful over time.

  • Not really. It's an anti tunnel perk. If someone gets chased down and hooked before you in the 60 second period, or you hop in a locker in front of the killer (ex. basement) and another survivor gets hooked, they're not clearly tunneling you, just taking advantage of your bad luck/choices. It's supposed to have a niche role, and it does way more than that right now.

  • @PatchNoir said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/903097#Comment_903097

Just make it go down only outside chase, and goes faster when working on gen or full healed.

when slugged and inside the terror radius your recovery will be cut to 40% but ds timer dont go down or go slower.

also missing DS does not deactivate the perk, reason one : you have only 2 oportunnities to use it on game, 2 getting tunneled twice is a good reason to have a second chance dont you think?

Makes sense... but some people could take advantage of it because of how the game counts a chase.

    1) Wraith becoming Entity's servant.

    2) More info about Benedict and Weeks town (does someone even remember that?)

    3) Man on photo in Mother's dwelling. Who is he? Why he isn't mentioned in Huntress lore?

    4) More about Entity. Namely, why it blights once a year. What is the purpose of this?

...and so on. I have a lot of other questions, but they are implying on plotholes with licensed characters, so they will be unanswered. That's fine, I guess.

    1. He went mad. Either from manipulation of the Entity, or the realization that he's committed such heinous crimes... either way, it's a combo of that and that world having an ignorance of the entity (view arcus logs for that part)
    2. Weeks appears to be the one near MacMillian estate. I think that's more than enough information than we need. It's not a location in the game, so I think it's alright that more isn't given. I kind of hope more is added though since more is always good.
    3. Sounds like her father... maybe Anna's father died before she was born and her mother didn't like talking about him... but more should be told when Huntress gets her archives.
    4. I believe that has been covered in the Blight lore 2018. It's a yearly purge of the entity's system...

A lot of the characters aren't from the same world... so I guess it doesn't need to be covered... but I do think Nancy's and Steve's lore needs to be revised, and the Demogorgon needs an explanation of how the Entity took one from the Mind Flayer.

  • @Spooky13 said:

I really want to know what happened to Wraith. It said he killed his boss and took his skull and spine and left but that was it. Where did he get his bell? When did he start looking like a tree? Why does the Wailing Bell let him go to the Spirit World? The older killers really need some love Lore wise, at least in terms of explaining it.

The bell was a gift from the Entity. It's why he reappears the way he does... like how the entity materializes on hooks. At least, that's what I understand from what little there is.

  • @AvisDeene said:

I want to learn more about the entity. I’m not happy that it seemingly has no weaknesses and that all of the survivors are forever doomed in its eternal games.

I understand that this is a horror game, but I’d like to play with the hole that my survivor will have a small chance at escape. Claudette needs to have a nice ending where she lives out the rest of her life in a quiet town, with David chained to a bed in her basement.

Id like to also know if the Entity has any enemies that may be aware of its antics and if they’re trying to rescue the survivors.

Cosmic horror is a tough genre to make for the visual medium. Its both describable and impossible to comprehend. That point is not true. The recent archives lore (the arcus logs) mentions possible weaknesses (Knowledge of it), and there is a compelling argument that light is a weakness of it (Lightburn, mainly. Nurse cant blink when a light is on her, and Wraith are obvious examples).

So there is some hope, but as of right now, there is none. But, your claudette would have hope, since she wouldn't be in the game if she didn't. If she didn't, the Entity would send her to the void.

It appears that there is an enemy of the Entity, and other beings like it. Again, the arcus logs reference this loosely. The observer himself appears to be from one such group.

But what about the Alchemist injecting them? In the Alchemist lore video he injected the Trapper and that wasnt in a trial. So if the Trapper was just waiting in his map, the Alchemist wouldnt be able to chain him up and do that

Ah, but Trapper was chained in his realm. I believe the cutscene takes place in Ironworks. All of them probably received similar treatment within their realms.

Do they have areas to interact and torture survivors or do they only meet in trials? Do killers and survivors eat or sleep? I just wanna know more about the entitys world because from the alchemists story we know it's more than just trials.

I believe that's been explained by the realms. I think they just reside in their realms until the next trial. (Legion on Ormond, Wraith on Autohaven, Nurse on Crotus Prenn, etc.)

Just a small note: you don't need Deerstalker when you have Barbecue & Chilly perk.

So the third person (being slugged) is offten doomed anyway.

You'd be surprised how many times I've been the slugged one and yet they still couldn't find me on the ground. BBQ only does so much... it tells you where they are at that moment, but if they have Tenacity or Flip Flop, then it could be a pain to catch them.

  • @kcwolf1975 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/916972#Comment_916972

Is it cheap? Yes, but I think slugging for a 4k is as well.

As far as a "deserved" 4k goes, that would be totally subjective. Many cases it would be, but there would definitely be cases where it wouldn't be. Maybe you had 2 potatoes that died before the last 2 were even hooked once, is the 4k still "deserved"?

Free escape for the last person? Definitely not. It does give the last survivor a much better chance, but EGC is heavily favored on the killers side (as it should be).

I play more killer than survivor, but I guess I don't care much between a 3k or 4k so I don't slug. Same goes with rank, I play for fun so I don't care about rank, I would rather play 4 games and get a 3k than have to slug for a 4k and only play 3 games.

It still wouldn't be fair for the killer regardless.

I'm speaking from the high rank killer perspective here, in which survivors are usually way better than killers and so they have to earn every victory.

I don't really care if people escape or not. I just think that it's cheap to add something that is punishable by the game's current standards. There are already counters to Slugging anyway: Unbreakable, No Mither, Flip Flop, Tenacity... it's not like survivors don't have workarounds for it. If you don't prepare for it, and it happens, you only have yourself to blame.

  • No. Its cheap and denies the killer a deserved 4k. It's a free escape for the last person, and should not be encouraged. Why do you think people don't like DCers when its to the last person? It's the exact same thing.

Besides, most killers don't run Deerstalker, so you can still hide away from them so you have to force them to search for you.

That would be interesting. I think all the survivors mentioned in perks like Hope, Deja Vu, and other survivor perks should get some flushing out too.

I feel like the easiest cheese for that would be to hide the whole game just to deny a killer the mori.

Well, it gives a counter, but competent killers can still use the mori.

  • I think the best idea for moris is to make sure everyone's been hooked once. That way, stealthy survivors that haven't been found are an active counter to Moris. Other than that, I think keys need to be made into a more skill based mechanic.

    True.

  • @AAAAA said:

I think grin isn't really a motif, just a word that gets used a lot, especially when smile isn't appropriate. The music, on the other hand, is an interesting idea. I've always wondered what's on the Fuming Mix Tape, and I didn't know Kate's music was affected by The Entity. There might be something there...

I call it a grin because it's called that in the description of Susie's mask, Trapper's mask, and Feng's facemask... when they look nothing like them. I mean, look at Susie's mask and tell me what you think of when you look at it... but it's a common symbol in the game. One I'd like explained.

It's not just the Fuming Mixtape. All of theirs was effected, I think. I do think that the main Legion theme is actually the content of Frank's Mixtape. Yeah, Kate's music is usually upbeat country music, but when she was in close contact with the Entity, her music became more melancholy... look at the Curtain Call trailer to hear the exact music. It sounds like it's getting closer to the theme we all recognize.
