And yet again the whole 4k theory....
Do you as survivor want to escape?
Yes? Good thats nice.
But you have to stop moving ans let the killer kill you once someone else did the last generator.Sounds stupid? Strange, but thats what you're expecting of killers.
-
Give the survivors a gun, which only with addons becomes strong to slow / stun etc the killer
oh and without a manual (addon) to use it correctly they hold it sideways and eject the casing into their face.
-
As far as I know we dont really have seasons, but ranks normally get reset around the 13th of a month.
-
I actually like the concept of selfish survivors. But they shouldnt forget that escaping is still their main goal.
Other than that, a perk to trip other survivors to gain a speed boost (or kick off a wall for lower effect) might just be in the spirit of these selfish Hyenas. On the other extreme, there should NEVER be survivors actively helping the killer or vice versa, the game lives on the killer vs survivors premise.
The red team vs blue team mode could be made interesting . I think 8 v 2 might be the easiest to implement, while i think some sort of "red vs blue vs killers" could work too.
-
I love the " only the living fear death" argumentation against implementing this, ofc thanatophobia only affects the living.
(duh)
But u need to see the tiny tidbit that this fear should be increasing the less survivors are there, the dread of being the next... etc
Sadly ingame this translates more into "die already you little shits so i can get the hatch" -
Smoker from l4d existed way before the hobo lol.
The gamekeeper fro m identity v is there too, pudge of dota The list goes on.The concept is old and i think there has been talks about aome prisoner with shakles as alternative to huntress ( shorter range , no reload).
But honestly this concept would be welcomed with open arms in dbd. This kind of power can be easily identified as useable or not.
-
Removing offerings would only fill the open bloodweb spots with addons or items, the net wouldnt suddenly get smaller because the pool of possible filler material shrank down.
-
Ive seen some gameplay, and I agree that the bully potential is there. Especially if survivors act coordinated and announce each other what theyre doing, instead of "just checking a closet for scrap", or "staying behind to craft". If they're moving as a single unit it turns really hard to do stuff against them.
And The brute somehow is only good for throwing people down high places lol

It would be cool if music could be turned off and you could just listen to the sound effects. Crickets or howling wind, rustling corn stalks, and heavy rain, etc.and then you blasted by the menu music after a trial and go deaf because the sound effects haven been lowered yet again by an engine update.
-
sloppy butcher and mangled addons dont stack as sloppy butcher only applies mangled too.
-
While it would freshen up the current gameplay and probably add some depth to survivor play, i think it might be overwhelming for (freshmen) killers to suddenly have their vision filled with a rainbow of different auras for every survivors objectives.
heh, might look like a good christmas decoration. It'd probably be already possible to assign a random quest at the start of a trial thats somehow displayed to the survivor. Something along the lines of:
-" find X pieces of a ITEM NAME HERE and assemble it at the NEW SPAWNED INTERACTIBLE to gain 1 ITEM NAME HERE after the trial. One problem i see would be new interactibles actually BLOCKING access to each other, if the spawn logic crams them all in a place, ive had it happening that a chest denied me access to a hook right next to it, as killer.
Another thing to be wary of, is that maybe the devs add those objects, but theyll then waste away as only optional objects for dailies or a quick fix of bp (pustules or chests), without impact on the actual survivors goal of doing 5 gens and escaping.I myself often thought about survivor "traitor" perks to incentive survivors to actually work against the "we are all best friends forever" meta gameplay. Obviously thats not whats being discussed here, but its a similar shift in gameplay that'd be happening.
Sorry if my post doesnt follow some sort of coherent line of thought ;P
-
Killers win if 3 die? Wheres the reward for that?
Another point: why does the 4th survivor still need the hatch if an exit is already open and up to 3 of his buddies already escaped?
-
yeah, breaking rules, one "cant see survivors" or"cant see scratchmarks", "cannot apply effects with normal attacks" "doesnt get Bloodlust" or "additional weakness to flashlights", killers should be affected by all the basic mechanics, right?
-
survivors who call out to killers for doing X and then doing the same when playing killer once in a blue moon.

I'd love a Mannequin-like Killer, that has decoy Mannequins to place around the map, which it could inhabit and be used as a jumpscare tactics as well as give it map pressure. Would have a small number to place as well a range in which to place each oneCould be seen as a Spirit/Hag mix. Would have a very odd way of moving, not sure on what kind of Perks it would have..but it's a start
Identity V presents your their default killer, The Hell Amber:
Its a default speed killer that can place down or throw 2 dolls to act as sentry wards, they hightlight/ reveal aura of survivors in visible locations 360° around them. he can swap positions with those dolls at any time, but the game features quite long cooldowns on these kind of abilities.
as a secondary power he gets some sort of rage meter that fills when survivors do the "gens" in that game, it enables him to buff those dolls to walk around and attack survivors they come across, their movement is quite random, checking on gens or simply walking walking from tile to tile, until they home in on visible survivors. after swapping positions, they lose that buff.
( i should mention that the dolls are even bigger than the hell Amber who himself is kinda comparable to the trapper)I guess thats quite how a mannequinn / "chucky with dolls" killer should work in dbd, right?
Obviously Identity V is a different game with different balance issues, so who knows if such a concept would be appliable to dbd's sparse use of keys ( hell amber on pc client uses 5 buttons for its skillset because its been imported from mobile touch controls.Other than that i guess chucky would need either a size upgrade or "have his pov higher than he is" or get straight up 3rd person view, because in default killer POV he'D be lower than crouching pig, which is already atrocious enough.
Other than that, Pyramid head would be nice, but SH5's Boogeyman would fit DBD so much better than ol triangle boy.

That's from least likely to most likely, right?
Get an awesome for that question! Didnt even think about it

But yeah its kinda true. -
Never played the pig but what i caught up from the forum/wiki/videos is that her addons are mostly just for the atrociusly bad RBT.
I think some of her addons should be merged or simply buffed hard.Either buff her ambush and remove those 3 common addons and buff the rest of the rbt addons
OR
Give her addons with multiple effects for both the ambush and the RBT, similiar to the doctors addons. -

Oh pls .. ez 4k every game ? Look at spirit where people asked for buff and now she's even better than hillbilly with just 110% .. going against decent spirit is really boring now Also same for Freddy and Wraith .. they're not weak They're good in the right hands You forgot several buffs the Spirit got.
Buffs the community asked for from the beginning.
You say Freddy is strong in the right hands. I assume you played him to rank 1, yes?
Not the same guy but I have, multiple times. Last season after rank reset I got to rank 1 playing exclusively Freddy, without perks or add-ons. If you think Freddy is bad then you are just too incompetent to play him correctly.
I was asking the other guy, don´t know why you feel offended and start to insult.
Oh btw, i DID reach rank 1 with him, playing him perkless.
That's prettt unsportsmanlike bragging like that.
It also seems from the score the rank 9 got tunneled out early which doesn't surprise me.
Then maybe he shouldnt have played with rank 1's?
-
Exposed could make deep wound go down x % faster or simply loose x% more charges by getting applied againt.
(I guess that'd be only a small ccheck if one status is applied if the other is already applied)
Havent played legion yet, does frenzy trigger other on hit effects like franklins or other debuffs?
But after nurse i think legion should be able to use exposed.
-
Its funny how a 40% escape rate is quickly falsely translated into a 60% killrate
Those 60% are disconnects, left the game, not loaded survivors, legitimate kills and hook suicides of survivors who gave up or simply raged on their first hook its a pity you cannot even tell how many sacrifices are intentional suicides.
-
I think it doesnt need a license because a dude or lady with big hedge trimmers isnt that special.
Always thought that LF's chainsaw attack could also work with big scissors too.( kuchisake onna with big scissors ftw )
-
The standart time limit is in my opinion not a viable addition to this gmae.
Imagine you have only 2minutes left but still 2 gneerators to do? Ehat are the survivors to do in such a situation.
Normally I'd be fine with survivors suffering but that somehow wouldnt work.A time limit after opening the gates would simply get ignored by 99'ing the gates as they are now.
A first step would be disabling the hatch after a gate is opened imo. (Or turning it into a deathtrap)
-
Additionally to the afk croes one could arguably add crows/reveal to survivors who didnt interact with objectives in a certain period of time.
This could hselp with hidden griefers but not with buttdancers.Lets give survivors a punishment they always want for killers, let them start losing bp per second that get added to the killer then, if they stay too long/ around the exit gates ( not just inside the exit area)

@DemonDaddy No, it's not the only mean to counter Aura reading abilities, but BBQ is not the only problem: Freddy's dreamworld destroys your tokens, A Nurse's Calling is not counterable if there is a stealthy killer, some Wraith's, Myers' and Doctor's add-ons, Bitter Murmur are impossible to counter.@SnakeSound222 Someone could say BBQ is a product of endless whining from killers who refuse to look for survivors without magic visions... Read above, please.
Sorry but BBQ is a product of endless whining from survivors about campers. Just that campers got incenitves to leave the hooks (vision and per-survivor-bp) instead of the by survivors oh so desired punishments.
-
The first difference could be the trajectory of the projectile, its speed and so on, slowdown on aiming, how long it takes to aim, or even zoom while doing so.
Theoretically the devs could add alternate killers that are only slightly different than existing ones.
(Somewhat comparable to HB and LF for example)Alternativley they could give huntress a second killer ability to chose in her inventory, either use the hatchets or the bow, which is similiar, but still different to use. ( meaning thre huntress could swap 'items' before the trial starts)

I think with game health OP means not ingame content but rather optimisation of game mechanics, data , code etc.

Also he wants further nerfs to killers attacks, based on the visual of the weapon (4). Maybe we should just increase the attackrange of all killer that use longer weapons?

Lol that would nerf Freddy. Poor guy can't get enough of 'em.
just make him shoot dreamblades from his claw when he's attacking/lunging... works for the Ripper in Identity V... ;P

I doubt the legion is evil. Its teen teen angst with boredom and peer pressure. If threy were truly evil theyd have a higher killcount before getting recruited.
Their leader could be different but the others are just sheep compared to the rest of the killers.
-
Currently there are cases in which that immunity stays for like 5 seconds after landing...
They should rather fix this bull so that theyre hittable as soln they land. -
I firgot to add that all his addons should be redone to have effects on all tiers.
-
After the engine update of 2.4 and the following audio and visual changes which made survivors yet again even harder to find, its not only myers that needs tweaks.
(But first let the devs fihure out the new engine-settings)
Ignoring my first concern, even before 2.4 myers could use of multiple tweaks.
-bloodlust is a "general mechanic for killers who aren't currently using their power". That there wouldnt be bl gain while stalking is okay, but i think he obviously should have it
- a)more evil / regenerating evil on survivors.
b)negative effects on fully stalked survivors.
-multi stalk, with or without dimishing effect.
There have been lots of threads with reasonable or unreasonable tweak ideas. -
Haha a classic concept that indeed would work in a game like dbd, especially since identityV's Gamekeeper works exactly like this.
It'd be nice if the pullback triggers after they get their hit-speedboost, or even reduces that speedboost.
Im not the best about balanced perks, because im too lazy to create my own, but i think all your perks are a bit weak.
Rotten: only 10 seconds of hindered is not enough.
Brutalize: restriction of affected survivors is only partially ok on ruin and third seal because their effects are the same on all tiers. If you chose to balance the infinite duration with the restriction, then theres a huge power gap between t2 and t3.Dismember: i think just slowing down the recovery rate might be a bit stronger.
Classic concept, i like that you didnt add any crazy weaknesses.
-
Only the highlight overlay derped or the dreamworld itself too?
-
That there arent any threads about nerfing the legion is quite concerning in itself.
-
When charging he's both slower than hillbilly and he needs to charge his saw longer.
Then his chainsaw attack starts at ~87.5% and accelerates, i dont know his max speed but accordibg to the wiki it averages at about 115%.
The problem is that even though it averages at 115%, he still loses quite the distance in a chase because he still starts slower than survivors.
Because of the finite duration his ability doesnt work for map pressure. -
It's the fan creation subforum.

This game is competitive.
-
I think you're misinterpreting "competitive"
http://changingminds.org/disciplines/game_design/types_game/games_competitive.htm
As long there are multiple factions competing for a win it is a competitive game, be it uno, uch, dbd, fortnite, any team sport, or rock paper scissors. -
How can you consider UNO and UCH noncompetetive? Especially a friendship stresser like uno.ThatDidact said:@Wolf74 said:

The problem is that the Devs try to balance the game somewhere in the middle.
Trying to ease it on the low ranks and in the same process make it worse for the high ranks.
While low rank survivor get it slightly better, the high rank killer get it much worse.
Competitive Pvp games need to get balanced top down. That's how EVERY other game is doing it. I do no other game beside Dbd that is doing it otherwise. This IS NOT a strictly competitive based game, and the devs have made that so-clear.
There are 2 sides, one solo versus a team.
Both played by and against actual humans (aka PVP).
How can that be "non competitive"?
This is no coop game. Someone needs to lose for the other to win.
Even in the "balanced" game with 2 dead/2 escape, the dead "lost".If the only requirement for a game to be considered "competitive" is that people can lose, than every single multiplayer game is competitive. Do you consider Uno to be a competitive game? How about Ultimate Chicken Horse? The point Brady was trying to make is that there are more people playing the game than people who sweat hard, memorize loops, run meta perks, etc., and the devs do and should acknowledge that.

About "trash teammates'
-
... this is beautiful!
-
Dont bother reasoning about giving shape bloodlust back, before the devs give him back this default killer mechanic theyre more prone to remove more basic mechanics from other killers. See spirit and legion.
Even nurse whos also supposef to use her ability has bloodlust.
Its just bullshit that myers doesnt get it even when he has situations in which hes unable to reach ew2.
Heck even with the old bloodlust he was dtill slower than the other killers. -
Her power is kinda like people wanted spirit's to be, minus the blindness weakness.
But in this barebones concept i guess its closer to wrath or pig, depending on how the reemerge works, but without a movement modification, i guess.
Would probably become a 110% killer.I think she shouldnt need to be hunched over like hag, i somehow imagine a female trapper just that the mask starts growing into her head. The size would be like legionF plus maybe roots or branches sticking outward to artificially make her slightly bigger (easier to see)

I assume the trailer shows the first time they are seen in the Fog or just ties in with their lore.
I don't understand why anyone would want such an absurdly weak power such as a disguise.
You think having no TR, no red stain, and still being able to attack is a weak power?
While that will work in the sense of jumpscares scratched mirror Myers comes to mind.
The idea of blending into survivors to trick them out is only something that is going to work against solo players, as a swf sqaud can periodically just ping their locations anything that doesn't correspond can assumed to be the Killer.
Offtopic but i think it needs some supernatural element which ghostface or legion dont have to make a "shapeshifter killer" work. The shapeshift ability would need to mess with each survivors hud and perception (like an invisible madness debuff), for example have every survivor look different for every survivor, AND FORCE SURVIVOR INTERACTION somehow, even with cwf interferrence.
In case of team fortress' spy he partially only works because there nromally are other enemies to be careful about. Shapeshifting killer could probably work better in a 2 killer mode or a special case like chogall in HotS.Ontopi, I think legions current ability simply isn't trialer material... Stabbing someone is something most killers do.
-
The problem with getting a leatherface map is that the devs didnt buy any rights to any of the movies' locations, meaning that they couldn't make it a TCM map even if they wanted to. They could only make it a "generic new coldwind farm map"
We already have 5 coldwind farm maps. I think its time to fill the other realms up first.

Rather than increasing the number of perkslots i guess one could consider reducing the number of possible perks.
-removing\redesigning unused perks
-combining perks
-making some of them part of the base kitOther than that, one additional perkslots could come with restrictions like
-"Only this character's teachable perks" (this could work for a fiths slot in my opinion but might create a strong meta with claudette and meg)
-"only tracking\exhaustion\hex\etc"sounds nice but way too brave moves for the DBD devs we know,
specially if remove perks players already have tier 3
Well i heard some rumors or theories that it mightve been considered once or twice to remove perk tiers to lessen the grind and perk inflation on the bloodweb. If that first step didnt help enough because of too many individual perks, then my former posts' idea might be thr next logical step.
It is a bold move, but there always could be compensations in shards or bp, or a fancy new tophat.
Just imagine they did something completely crazy and removed the bloodweb and created perk/skill-trees instead
(See Identity V for example, where every hunter shares the same skill tree) -

So, how about: try camping?
If you get one kill max anyway, why not just the first?
The fun part will be, the other survivor will come to the rescue anyway, even if you are there.
It's called "bait".Yes but camping is something you shouldn’t do. It actually TAKES AWAY bloodpoints and it’s not fair on survivors. Like I said, I’m 50/50 for whether I play survivor or killer. So, I know how crappy it is for the survivor when they get camped at the very start of the match.
Also, at high ranks, they don’t come for the rescue. The survivors let them die on the hook and do all of the gens instead.
If a lot of survivors would start ignoring campers and camped survivors, camping would lose its effective use and we would start seeing less of it beacuse of that. But until survivors stop make camping work, there will be camping.
Adding to this is the urge to get those sweet unhook points. Gaining more in an instant than in 80 secs on a gen is quite tempting, I guess.

The Hillbilly strikes down from above with his chainsaw when he cuts a pallet, i think it's justified that he hits a survivor thats between his chainsaw and the pallet .
