I have never had an issue playing against Deathslinger. He was quite easy to win against. Just hold W and predict when he is going to shoot.

Well, you don't need to predict now, you can just react.

Tiers matter, if you try to get good at the game, or just play against good survivors, if you have ever seen pebble, then you are not there. So yeah, you can get away with playing whatever you want.

Again I don't care about his power-level, I play lot of FPS games and I am good at them, so he was interesting to me, only because of quick-scope.

TR change didn't matter to me, that change only how survivors feel to play against him, didn't affect my side. But after quick-scope nerf, there is no reason for me to play him.

I have over 200 hours, just on deathslinger and it is wasted now.

There is no reason for Deathslinger to have longer ADS like other killers, when he has limitation that other killers don't. He get more punished for single miss, he can't down over most pallets / far windows, he has limited range, he has tiny hitbox that is easy to dodge and his ADS sensitivity + POV just sucks, so he can't even flick. Btw he also has longer time to down on avarage than Trickster / Huntress.

His argument, they just don't wanna work and look at me I play Pig, so I am right - is just funny. Pig is fun to play, Deathslinger is not anymore, that's a big difference.

Well he was one of my worst killers to play against when he released and after bitching about it I decided to just play him more. Made playing against him easier and that made me just play him more. Ranged killer > M1 killer except blight. Being a Huntress main and a big FPS player it only made sense to play those two. I do nothing but knife and tomohawk in call of duty and play other shooters so. But I think his time to down is only worse because trickster got buffed and to some he's still ass. I don't think he is but I can see it. But idk I guess RIP DS. Seems fine to me but you def play him more than me but nobody likes getting shot near instantly so here we are.

Yeah. No you don't. I just read your other comments, you don't even understand how to counterplay Deathslinger, let alone play him.

Maybe you're right maybe you're not, I don't die to him often so i'm pretty sure I have a good sense of countering him but either way he's nerfed and judging by how you and the others whining about are reacting I won't have to see him much anyway. Enjoy your day/night 😄

Tell me you have zero map awareness without telling me you have zero map awareness.

Pretending like maps with multiple floors or walls you can't see through exists. Talking ######### won't unnerf him might wanna choose a diff tactic

I found the person who literally has never played Deathslinger before. Shame they're posting nonsense in multiple threads.

That is where you're wrong. He's not my main but when I get tired of playing huntress I play him or I play blight 😄

You didn't play old Deathslinger, you didn't play new Deathslinger, so what about you try to play him and then talk about others overreacting?

I am not suprised. I am used to games that cares about bad players and nerf things "because it's annoying" even tho it was never really good.

Deathslinger new got above B tier as killer, right now he is maybe C in terms of power-level, but he feels really bad to play as, which is bigger issue for me.

You are connecting wrong things. We don't care about killing here, we care that it feels like ######### to play him. How you don't understand that those are completely different things? Well, survivor main syndrom I guess....

I've played every killer at some point whether it was because I liked them or just wanted to try or for points. DS is one I like to play so yes i've played new and old slinger. He's fine you're just not being carried but a stupidly small terror radius so you have to actually hit your shots now instead of getting cheesy quick scopes that are near impossible to dodge with no warning. Also tiers for killers DO NOT matter. People can 4k with every killer when they get the right set of perks that fit their playstyle. So him not being above B tier means absolutely nothing. Survivor perks like pebble are never going to be above B tier either but people still like using it. Tiers mean nothing and since you talk about caring about how it feels you must also now how ######### it feels to get quick scoped when you had no chance of countering it or getting snuck up on by a slinger using monitor. So with that in mind Nerf def justified

  • People overreact and he's gonna be fine. I'm sure the terror radius nerf will do more than anything else and they're now missing shots so they focus on that and complain he's weak now. He got a SLIGHT delay to when he can shoot and its hardly even a delay you just can't shoot before a survivor can see you aim like before. He can still do all the other stuff he's good at and known for. With a normal terror radius

Right! I see it all the time! Oddly enough tho I'm a killer main but I play survivor occasionally. I want the game to be fun for everyone but the moment that a killer has to try a little harder they give up and start crying. Lol I'm just like bring it on! I got this make my pig slower and blind fold her I will still 4k without camping or tunneling! It's a challenge and it seems not many killers in the dbd forum are very good at challenges.

They just want their free wins. Like a killer that is clearly too good and needs a nerf they'll deny it and when they get nerfed make the same posts about dead/dying game the killer is dead/sucks game being run by dumb survivor favored devs. All while ignoring how much easier killer has gotten and the buffs they get for different killers and survivor nerfs that are because things were too strong. They did it with Freddy, Spirit, Billy (poor Billy gets NO love anymore) Pyramid Head, and I guess now Slinger. Like they just play what's the Meta killer or the most overpowered one. Then to top it off you can say WHATEVER you want about the survivor side here but the second you say anything bad about killer you get so much flack for it.

These are the newest reworks and added things to the game I looked through them and removed ones that were reworks or a change of rarity. And found 7 things they changed that were not in favor of the killers.

Also it should be mentioned that not a single survivor got buffed! Some of the names of the items perks ect have been changed but not a single buff! I don't play as survivor alot but as a killer main I can nearly always get a 4k without camping tunneling or needing of underhanded tactics. It's sad af to see all those buffs given to killers and they are still so bad at the game they have to come here and complain or camp and tunnel... These are not nerfs!

That is all these forums are. Bunch of killers whining and moaning they can't kill 80% of the time. Then you get the really trash survivors coming in being like nerf trapper nerf hag or some other def not op thing they can't counter. I hate the clown and they usually kill me everytime but he's not op. Just annoying

The tiny terror radius was all that needed changing. His shots are very easy to dodge.

If they were easy to dodge it wouldn't have been nerfed. Would've been buffed or something around it would've been.

  • @RodDeWitt said:

Because, what is the purpose of playing and buying new killers, if I am going to live in constant fear of them being nerfed out of nowhere? The game was already unfair enough for killers and now i also have to worry that my main (which i bought with real money) will be nerfed because survivors finding it unfair, im done with this game.

Bhvr basically stole money from us.

lmao. They have the right to change everything and anything. Also he was annoying af to try and counterplay which made him unfair ontop of the tiny terror radius

  • The game will never truly die just because of licensed characters, but it can for sure lose a bunch of its more hardcore audience that plays daily leaving mostly a much more casual crowd of players I wanna think. Which wouldn't be a dead game just a "dead" game to the hardcore players that've found a better game or just moved on from it

  • @GeneralV said:

I also agree that the game is not fun anymore, but it has nothing to do with everything that you've mentioned.

Well a lot of those are what makes it less fun for me and seemingly some other people. What makes it less fun for you?

  • @HighwayCatalyst said:

What? No. The nerf was perfect.

You don't think so? I don't see a reason anyone could ever be mad about getting one shot from a hatchet from a distance versus a huntress that just walks right up on you and uses it. That doesn't promote any skill and its a stupid cheap tactic that kind of goes against what she is. That being she's a ranged killer.

  • Lol I guess that survivor doesn't know he can just jump into a locker. You're guaranteed to get caught might as well get caught in a way that forces you to be hooked instead of killed

  • Stupidly annoying killer that I can't stand playing against. Chains are stupid and I just love when the chain hunt begins and I'm trying to solve the cube but getting chained being stopped from solving the damn cube. To those who wanted him in congrats, but I hate him he's the most annoying killer to face in this game and the strongest apparently. Probably just because of the stupid chain hunt

  • @GuyFawx said:

Thats a server issue i just had it happen close and restart dbd see if it stops happening

Well i basically do that everyday and it still happens xD

  • Weirdest salt I ever got was a survivor calling me names and telling me I'm a camper and a bad killer because I was chasing someone in the area when they got unhooked. I hit the person in the area and went to chase the unhooker and the survivor that got unhooked decided to jump into a locker and they spammed in and out in hopes of me grabbing them for their DS to work. This is before the nerf but makes no difference anyway. So I got tired of hearing the constant fast action sound and downed them when they jumped out and left them there. Then killed eeveryone and let the Claud go because she was the only one doing anything. Then end game chat happened and I just laugh

I dont want win every game. i need equal chances vs good survivors, vs survivors that spend 5k hours on learning this game like me. I can win 99% games vs bad survivors but its not fun for me. I want to win games vs high level survivors and nowadays its impossible.

Well you've gotta improve somewhere or play a different killer that works with how you currently play. The good survivors are still predictable with how they play. Just a matter of knowing how to counter whatever they do. Not sure who you play but if you don't already just play a killer with range if catching them is the issue

  • Any killer nerf is met with killers whining and bitching as if they just lost the ability to hit survivors. Especially the people that claim to play at high tier

  • @GuyFawx said:

Is it an Unknown error has occured message?

    Yeah its that one

  • Killer is fun if you're good or don't care about winning every game. If the game was made for you to win every game you'd get bored and stop playing anyway. You wanna win every game? Go play Nurse and come back after a year and say you still love playing this game.

  • Personally I feel like a lot of the killer players that constantly complain about these kinds of things have a superiority complex or something. Like some of them I'm sure legitimately feel some of the things they ask for would be better for balance but a lot of others just want to dominate survivors for free. Games like these will never bring the power swing into the direction of the killer because the game wouldn't be fun nor fair. Killers would win almost guaranteed and the point is that you're not supposed to win guaranteed unless you have the skill to overcome the tools survivors have against you. The balancing issue is getting it to a point where survivors don't all escape for free but killer doesn't kill everyone for free either.

  • @Schardon said:

It's an already existing concept though. Not in DbD but in other games. League of Legends has it, that when you (DuoQ) queue up with a friend you'll get matched with opponents of a bit higher MMR to offset your advantage of having comms.

Now that we have SBMM, this concept could be applied in DbD to some degree.

That being said - I'd prefer to see buffs to soloQ and corresponding buffs to all killers. So the the power of solo players gets closer to SWF players, instead of penalizing SWF.

Wouldn't mind that as the nerf itself. Though most of the other "suggestions " people give are just ridiculous.

    Because keys are overhyped 😂

Key users usually got tunneled in high ranks. And I think I read a post on twitter that they made up less than 2% of escapes.

Don't worry, if this update goes live, I'll dump him straight into trash. Objectively no reason to play him over huntress anymore. Was fun though.

That was your first mistake. Never betray Huntress Mama. Huntress Mama will always be there for you in trying times. Survivor want to loop and teabag? HATCHET. Survivor not good but abusing pallets and windows because they saw it in an Ayrun video? HATCHET when they just vault without worry. Huntress is best killer girl and nobody will ever take her space as the best ranged killer. Did I mention she's actually balanced too? So nerfs like these for her will never come about.

no more getting left on hook by the survivor that did nothing the whole game but found hatch while I'm on hook.

This is where I will bring up 'Left Behind', as I feel this perk will gain a lot of value with these changes.

The survivor might not be sitting at the hatch waiting for you to be sacrificed, but they still may decide to leave you for dead to get the hatch to spawn (opened) and find it.

    damn..Hope not

Although I agree with you I also think this is gonna make "pre endgame" (for lack of a better word) wayyyy more boring than it was. I've seen the "endgame chase" idea posted here multiple times and I think that would fix 100% this issue. I want to survive because I was the most deserving survivor, not because I managed to hide a bit better than the other dude or because I got lucky and beat the killer to the hatch. And as killer, I don't wanna have to slug for the 4 man every single game or take the L and give them a chance to just escape randomly, especially given that killers usually have one chance at everything, while survivors constantly get multiple (couldn't finish gens? get hatch! killer got the hatch? You can still get an exit gate! can't get exit gates? use a key!)

I don't care that much personally. I've gotten three of them and the last one is almost like a bonus to me at this point. Cant be bothered to do hatch stand offs or slug for the 4k. I find them or hatch first or I don't. They already know I've won at that point they just get a lucky escape and without they'd be entity fodder

  • I see it as only a good change. No more killer closing it instantly unless it just pops up in their face, no more getting left on hook by the survivor that did nothing the whole game but found hatch while I'm on hook. No more of a lot of things probably. I say good change and I'm surprised I don't see whining survivor posts about this change honestly. Maybe there will be some once it goes live

  • No quick scoping and a delay to m1 after aiming is going to encourage you to commit to your shot and not spam aim like a maniac :)

  • @Altarf said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2524401#Comment_2524401

So they should have nerfed this, rather than his ADS. Because his ADS is his one unique strength.

Idk I still want the ADS nerf, but based on what a dev said on another post the nerf is only long enough for the survivor to see you aim and then try to quickly dodge. Its not the end of the world most people will probably still get quick scoped you just can't do it 100% for free anymore without survivor getting a warning. So it prob won't change too much the main changes for him will be in the terror radius nerf

  • @ad19970 said:

Dear lord, insane how people still think BHVR only cares for one side.

In what universe is it a good plan to make a Killer more add on dependent?

You got me there, though people will only use a set few of them anyway so I don't see why it'd be much of a problem anyway. Though if they instead buffed the reload similar to how they made PH able to spam his power more maybe they'd change the add ons to have a lesser effect or maybe they'd just leave them as is.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2524237#Comment_2524237

The quickscope is fine, because being hit is not the end of the world. Survivors still have the opportunity to break the chain (unless the Deathslinger walks backwards). Deathslinger's gun doesn't need to be dodgeable as long as the chain mechanic is fair to both sides, which it is not since walking backwards basically prevents survivors from every hooking on anything.

Almost all DS players walk backwards though. So there is almost never a chance to break it

  • "Hello, I welcome you to being punished for using your power"

    laughs in legion

  • @FFirebrandd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2524191#Comment_2524191

The point of the nerfs is to deal with 3 things that Deathslinger is doing that are all maybe a bit unhealthy for the game.

    1. Quickscoping so Survivors get hit before they can react.
    2. Feathering M2 so Survivors dodge and lose distance too fast.
    3. Using M&A to have a longer range than terror radius.

One can debate how fair or unfair most of these things are... but changing his reload speed doesn't rebreak any of those problematic interactions. All it does is make him faster at what he does... which he'll need if he can't rely on broken chase mechanics anymore to offset his terrible 1v4.

Well that's what his add ons are for they don't need to change the base reload speed itself. Also in my experience playing him its only bad if you miss then miss the following shot. Then you've basically lost the survivor but you basically get two chances assuming they didn't have some exhaustion perk.

  • Everytime someone complains about SWF nerf I lose a brain cell at the though of a multiplayer game punishing people for playing with their friends. On the other hand its funny because the changes that get proposed instead only buff solo queue which would make solo play more like playing against a SWF. Killers getting buffed to compensate more than likely won't happen either unless its something like making a killer perk or two base. I would love to see spies from the shadow be base on killer. It'd make sense to me anyway and also bring more use to Calm spirit

  • @Bjario said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2523329#Comment_2523329

Maybe they should've kept the ability to quickscope, but remove the ability to cancel then immediately M1. That would've been fine imo

Nobody likes the quick scope though. There's no counter play and sure there is a small amount of skill needed to pull that off but its not fair. If Huntress, Plague, Nemesis, Pyramid Head, Trickster all had the ability to instantly throw their projectiles at people the community would rage. No reason he should be able to. Sure in a video game sense it make no sense he can't do that but also in a realistic sense you'd never quick scope anything with a gun like that. The ability to cancel it only made it all the more worse. They're tackling the two most frustrating and annoying things about him. I think its completely fair ranged killers will always have a place in this game regardless of how people feel about them because they can ignore survivor defenses to some degree. Besides if he's actually that bad after these changes he'll get some buffs later on and we haven't seen the add on changes he got assuming he got any.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2524028#Comment_2524028

Here's the deal, if they had significantly buffed his reload speed and reel speed, then maybe this would be Ok.

I don't think Survivors realize just how much time Deathslinger wastes doing those two activities that most other killers don't need to do. That's why his map pressure is so terrible. That's why his 1v1 was so oppressive to offset that. That's why playing as him kinda felt like playing as a glacier... where the Survivors sure couldn't stop you but they could outpace you. If he's not unstoppable anymore, he needs to be faster in the 1v4. But... they didn't make him faster.

The reload speed thing wouldn't really be fair it'd just offset the whole point of the nerf. He's also a ranged killer so he's not going to get faster. He has to be slower to compensate for his power. His terror radius is what made up for that, but people abuse it by combining monitor with it so that change happened since they don't wanna change his actual terror radius. Which is fine by me I'll never have him just sneak up on me for free. I think he'll still be fine at least in high tier of play.

  • All the salty killer players acting like he won't still be good. He'll still be good and needed the nerfs. Anytime any killer gets nerfed so they can't exploit survivors for free they claim the killer has lost all mind game and that the killer is gutted. DS is still going to be good he just can't exploit pallets and windows anymore. I only wish they had done this way sooner because it was an obvious change he needed as far as being able to instantly scope and fire without counterplay.

We don't do that around these parts. You're supposed to nerf her BHVR, she's too OP.

What even is this add on...i'm not ready for this 😥

A survivor cannot cleanse a totem that another survivor has blessed, so bless a totem fast if you suspect Inner Strength.

    Aw man ;-;

  • I assume survivors can change a killer hex into a boon and killer can turn boon into a hex. Pretty sure there will be a cap put onto how many times it can be done to prevent back and forth

  • I don't think it'll be that bad. Its nice for sure but its just seeing pallets and windows if anything it'll prob increase pallet usage early game and make late/ end game horrendous if the player isn't careful

  • He's needed these for a long time. Everyone has some sort of penalty to avoid them doing what he and Pyramid head do. Imagine if Huntress could just whip out a hatchet and then put it away instantly to down you. Even do just that but with Iri head. It'd be nerfed quick simply because of the lack of counterplay and how unfair it is. These nerfs are justified I didn't expect the terror radius nerf but i'm glad for it since it made him annoyingly frustrating to play against with Monitor.

I enjoy this map for most of the killers there are some that are really bad on it but, overall I think it's fun even as a Survivor it's a very tight indoor map which brings out the horror cause the killer could come around any corner and you wouldn't know if they're on the the floor you're on or not. There's definitely better maps than RPD but, overall a fun map.

My thing is I hate getting jump scared its the cheapest way to "scare" someone and other than that I'm not truly sure why it pisses me off but that's def a reason for me not liking it. For me its also just the fact that one of the killers I played against instead of continuing to chase me they went around a different way and were able to catch me but I wasn't able to know that because chase continued and the tight halls made it so I could never see red stain and just added to the frustration of that map.
