The quotes are great and all, but I am willing to bet that you'll probably be tired of them by the time the event is over. Not to mention that some of the loading screen tips are actually helpful to new players, like the ones that teach you how to play against a killer your first few times you play against them. I do love the layout of the anniversary loading screen, though. Something about it is just so refreshing. I guess just having something different after four years of playing just spices it up.
It'd be neat if you had lore bits AND tips on the regular loading screen.

excellent, let's drive people away from the game that they BUY and spend a great time due to the fact that: “oh noo a person has bad internet and he destroys the experience of others nooooo”
cringe
BHVR is not responsible for this person's bunk internet - The same thing happens in many other games with much stricter penalties (that can lead to a permanent ban in some cases IE - DC'ing on a bunch of LoL matches).
But yeah, good luck advocating for someone that is effectively ruining the game for 5 people (includes the DC).
*cringe*
-
It's not going to happen.
Most killers would opt to play the game the way it is "meant" to be played.
As a result, SWF groups would lose interest due to queue times and the game's population / lifespan would plummet.
If you check my post history, I recently made a topic about playing solo, wherein the majority of people say they use SWF to win or to avoid bad teammates, which really throws shade on the "we just play for goofs" rhetoric.

Well, for starters, they didn't play all that well. If they had literally just had the forethought to pick ANYONE ELSE up, they wouldn't have gotten DS'd on and wouldn't have a reason to make this ridiculous thread. What's the use of playing so "efficiently" if you can't even keep track of what you're doing at that pace?
So yes, making this post as though they played flawlessly and DS is the problem is pretty laughable.
It was the best play given the match's context (which was obtained by reading the thread).
-
....this is literally how 75% of my solo games go....

You play like that’s but complain about a ds this post is laughable
Yeah, it sure does suck when someone plays extremely well.
Please elaborate on "play like that" and explain how he/she "should" play.
I literally have my popcorn ready.

Yes, I too enjoy being left on hook and being body blocked by my team. Sometimes I get good teammates but it isn't worth the 10 matches of bots I get beforehand.
Ah - The ever spicy "everyone not in my SWF is a bot" narrative.
Another contradiction to the normal SWF narrative.
-
Weird.
All these "I need to play SWF to stand a chance" posts really throw some shade on the "most SWF are just playing for fun" auto-replies that I see used to dismiss related killer complaints.

My experience with Clown is that he's weak, yeah, but I agree I don't play him right. People who do play him right say he's stronger than people give him credit for, so yeah I'll believe someone who plays him correctly. Like I'll believe a 3k hour nurse main saying she's strong over a 10 hour player saying she's the worst in the game.
That doesn't answer my question at all.
Why not make a topic asking Clown mains (people that MAIN him) their thoughts on his current viability - I doubt their views will align with yours.

Because someone agrees with a developer about something when they've got the experience- yeah I'll side with them.
And the thousands of other people with similar, if not more, experience that say the opposite?

I personally prefer playing solo to SWF too. Even when I'm playing SWF, I prefer to play in Duos then in a four man.
If I want to play competitively I'll play solo, if I want to goof around I'll play SWF. I don't really like playing SWF with players who just want to win, as I don't see the point in try harding in a SWF.
Plus a lot of survivors don't play killer, so sometimes you got to listen to "this killer is OP", "this killer is a try hard" etc.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1373218#Comment_1373218
The best way to improve as a survivor is by playing solo. If you only play SWF, you won't get better at the game.

I hate playing against Plague when I'm solo. Fortunately Plague is a weak killer, so not many people play as Plague.

Try enjoying Solo Queue when you're with a team who constantly cleanses against Plague (even if she's not got her power in any of the pools) and you'll know why people hate it. ;)
I've played with similar teams - It's not a common occurrence.
Personally, I'd get pretty bored if every player played against every killer optimally :-/

I feel like people prefer to play in a swf for 2 reasons. The first being random are extremely unreliable at times, and a lot of the time I personally just get left on the hook, and secondly people just want to have fun with their friends, I don’t know about you but if I die and my friend escapes then I get more satisfaction out the match, but that’s just me.
I think it's more rewarding if you make a ballsy rescue on a random and they escape, showering you with praise in the end game chat while the killer asks if you are SWF >_>;;

Oh damn.
I better watch myself or I might get told to shut up again.Praise be to BHVR.To be fair, Devs/Mods are pretty good at keeping toxicity like that in line.
There's a difference between a witty/sarcastic reply and flat out dismissing someone or being rude.
I don't think the mods have had an easy job here, lately, if I'm being honest.

Not sure why I am being quoted here since I never said they weren't looking to change him further. I did however say, in my joke post from a few days ago, that they would say that they are going to continue to monitor him and that they currently have no set plans of how to change him.
Which they definitely said.
And to further drive my point, Ethan said he has "played Clown" and finds him "underrated" and that "his power is hidden". I love Clown, he's one of my favourite Killers, and there are tons of people who have played hundreds of hours of Clown. He's is literally brushing off everyone because he is one of the main developers so he knows better and everyone else just needs to learn how to play Clown. The fact that he is unwilling to accept that maybe, just maybe, some players have a better idea of how Clown works is insane. But again, he's one of the main developers and that means his opinion is correct. 🤢
I think you were quoted for daring to oppose the statements put forth by the developers.....YOU FIEND!
-
Not everyone plays optimally and, quite honestly, it'd be pretty boring if everyone did/if every match against the same killer played out the exact same way :-/

Remember he said he was underrated, not fine and needs no further changes.
Quote from @DudeDelicious, the forum's BigBrainClownMain(tm), is that Clown is in a weird spot where the devs can "very easily make him overpowered," and once you learn him properly "his only weakness is stealth". No offence but even though I think clown is weak I'm gonna trust a PS4 player who can consistently kill people easily without gen slowdown perks (his own claims & he has a youtube channel to prove it) than you. Thanks.
That's great. He can 4k every single game as Clown and that doesn't make Clown any better.
I've 4k'ed as perkless clown at red ranks, I know how to use his bottles to "drive" survivors, force slow vaults at opportune times, etc.
There's no secret or hidden Clown tech or knowledge that I'm aware of that makes him easier to play - Survivors can still power through clouds to get to loops with pallets if you're trying to steer them into dead or pallet free zones, abandon loops as they see fit if outplayed (taking a hit if forced or necessary which gives them a head start on future pathing) and so on.
-
Anyone know if you can use it to negate Overcharge?
-
The Clown answer was very depressing and, without sugar coating it, very ignorant of his current state given that it was coming from a developer.

I mean why even use PH then?! It’s not like his ranged attack is any good. The time saved sending to a cage rather than carrying to a hook is supposed to be time used pressuring gens.
Torment and Hook them on the first down.
After this you can:
A) Cage them on their 2nd hook - Letting you kill them (via hook) after uncaging without fear of DS/BT.
or
B) Hook them a 2nd time (if situation allows), using Torment to 'Mori' them the next time you down them.
Option A is usually easier to do - So long as you play ok and don't waste your Cage on hook #1, it's pretty easy to set up/guarantee future kills.

Hi I'm a stay at home mom to two special needs children. I play games as an escape from my every day life. I love to play survivor and killer but I've noticed some major hostility towards killers. It's so bad some nights I can't bring myself to play killer. You survivors know there is no game without a killer right? So why do you feel the need to be so mean? I'm not a camper and do everything I can to play fare but I still get t-bagged and swarmed. I just want to enjoy the game as intended and not stuck only playing survivor 😔
Basically what I'm trying to say is it takes nothing to be kind and please remember there is a person behind the screen.

Not gonna say much just that dc penalties are not a solution in a game where the killer can slug all 4 survivors all game and not get banned or even suspended, same for killers in low ranks who have to verse high rank survivors since this game has no matchmaking. I'm red rank on both roles and i verse green or purple rank killers its not fun for either side. Last game as a survivor i went against a leatherface slugging all 4 survivors for the whole game after he chased me for 5 minutes, do the devs expect me to stay there on the ground afk or do they want me to play their game? I'm not gonna deal with this kid's issues i dc'd and got penalized for it. Either make slugging like that banable or remove dc penalties all together. Not even gonna mention that the game has bugs that force u to disconnect and u still get penalized.
You face the possibility of being slugged, camped, or tunneled each time you queue up.
If you can't handle that, the best thing to do is uninstall.
-
A facecamping killer gets the exact amount of bloodpoints and pips they earn during a match.

I would put DH 2nd as 1 survivor running it doesnt affect the rest of them. It also doesnt really work ojce the killer knows you have it.
Dead Hard is used for distance by good survivors - It has no counter, barring certain add-ons/killer powers.
-
They wanted to play against PH so bad that they stuck around for the rest of the match to harass you in chat @_@
Amazing excuse.
-
Use it for distance and it'll work 100% of the time ;3
-
Aahahhahahaha
You can farm - I do it all the time, particularly with stuff like the 2x Discord Grab challenge.

The magic of the Wiley coyote scheme is that a player can’t see it. There doesn’t even have to in fact be a rank..... a placebo effect is all that’s needed. Problem is that folks who have played this game for more than about 10 minutes will know the caliber of their opponent/s very quickly. Hidden ranks, visible ranks mean absolutely nothing if there isn’t an adequate ratio of killers and survivors. The kool aide will be flowing
I use Grape Tang with my SodaStream - It's bliss.

The momemt we know how they are determining ratings, we will modify our behavior to influence our ratings. It seems they don't want us to do this and to just fall naturally in place over time.
In a simplified example, If i know X is going to boost my rating, I could just only focus on X now and not care about anything else. If X is to drop 10 pallets every game. Ppl will focus on dropping 10 pallets whether they are in a chase or not.
If they base it on something that you're currently not doing/good at, your matches will get crappier and crappier without you knowing why.

If it works then you will be matched with players of similar skill to you.

Self-Care + Botany is not too egregious at any rank.
Throw on DS + (Exhaustion of your choice) and you have a pretty decent solo build / Alternative to Detective's Hunch - Inner Strength.
-
I really don't think it's fair to roll out a system without explaining how it works beforehand.
I'd like an opportunity to adjust/review my gameplay if necessary (IE Does it work similar to emblems? Just count kills/escapes? Both? etc)

I was wondering why that thread got deleted.
But yeah, 3-gen isn't a bannable thing. Someone else claimed it was if you "don't commit to chases", and I'd love to see a clarification from staff, but eh.
Probably the same reason his topic asking about a ban from April 2019 was deleted.

Oh, it's this guy lying about his Huntress wallhack/aimbot bans again.
-
"So i already got three times banned from dbd because survivors always report me because i use "Aim bot with huntresss"

That's not how the ban system works.

His long range attack is so easy to doge, it may as well be non-existent.
