There used to be a lot of Nurses and Billies, too, but they're both pretty non-existent after their reworks.
There are only a few killers that can hang with a good SWF, and I'd imagine most people pick them as a preventative measure.
-
It is certainly a challenge for the devs to create perks better than those that are literally the best perks in the game - 99% of the perks they create from now until the end of time will not see use so long as those perks tower above the rest.
There's nothing wrong with using them, but with all the gameplay holes they cover, there's no reason NOT to.
I'd almost rather that they rework the majority of the perks in the game from the ground up (en masse), which would breath new life into a stale meta.

A few new friends, so far :)

Also I don't know if this comes from advice or just people playing scared all the time, but I really wish people wouldn't try to run halfway across the galaxy when you pull them off a hook and then expect you to heal them way over there.
I used to follow them but now I don't anymore. This is especially annoying because I run We'll Make It on every character who has the perk unlocked and the game tells you that I have We'll Make It when I pull them. All the time people spend running from the hook when the killer is nowhere near, I could have been done healing them and both us of could be back on an objective.
Unless there's an immediate threat or the killer is on the way back and can get there quickly, just stand still and let people heal you
If I'm running WMI or Botany and I buttdance to let the guy know I can heal them fast....I'm not following them off into oblivion if they leave @_@

I haven't seen confirmation bias this strong in a while.
It was pretty disheartening, tbh.
-
I wonder what the OP's take on Ghost Face is....
@_@

NOED is for bad players.
If you run NOED and end with 3 gens up, you're apparently bad for using 3 perks all game.
If you pressure the survivors enough so that doing bones is actually detrimental and they gen rush you and/or struggle just to get to endgame, allowing you to clean up any survivors left alive with NOED, you're also bad.
If you're actually bad, get looped, get 0 hooks all game, and get clowned on all game allowing ample time for bones, it's also your fault for killing people with NOED because you're bad, apparently, and have now become a god thanks to NOED.
-
I've seen it in a couple of other topics since, but I have no idea why people are suddenly thinking that something (slugging) the devs have literally designed portions of the game around (mechanics/perks) and have explicitly stated is ok (see above) has suddenly become bannable.
Worse still, people seem to believe this, going by some of my most recent survivor game post-game chats :(
-
I asked why you brought up slugging when quoting my statement that was referring to tunneling.
You seem to be getting rather defensive over nothing.

So is slugging. Therefore there are allowed to be perks to counter both.
I don't know why you're tagging me to talk about slugging.
-
Tunneling is the correct play, sometimes, particularly if a momentum swing is needed, you need to remove OoO from your game, etc.

This sounds like the endgame Survivor perk to end all endgame Survivor perks.
It would also make Borrowed Time irrelevant.

I'm guessing you haven't played much then.
Nah, My bi-annual games just usually put me against weak perks like Pop Goes The Weasel, Surge, Sloppy Butcher, Corrupt Intervention, etc that generally have a guaranteed impact on the game :(

They kind of run scummy builds and tunnel more often than PC players from what I am noticing with cross play. Why is it so bad with console players? Can someone tell me why a killer on console feels the need to run a build like NOED, Blood Warden, BBQ, and Dying Light all at once? Never saw it this bad with PC players. Worst of all, can't even call these people out for their overcompensation. I may be seething a little bit from all of the tunneling, camping, and relying fully on perks rather than skill with the killer's abilities. Who would not be really?
That's a pretty weak build.

The Devs Q&A said you shouldn't say your friend code publicy so I'm not sure if sharing it in the forums is a good idea.
I'm not really concerned about it.
Perhaps if there is any actual harm/risk, @Almo or @Peanits can explain, especially since this information is also available for users in the 'friend search' results.

i like to know this as well.

You'll see it in the Friend screen (icon in bottom left)
-
Didn't think there would be zero interest in a friend code exchange T_T
-
How did you close the hatch with multiple people left at 4 gens?
-
Probably the best thing they've added to the game, and it seems to be working well.

The system feels pretty good with the queue times and the inability to cross-play chat is really nice too.
I think it's also way better for onboarding, as it gives new/returning people a chance to jump right back in after a win/loss to figure the game out instead of waiting 5ever for a requeue.
-
Some of my matches I'm destroying people, other games I'm getting stomped, others it's a close call either way.
I'm really enjoying it though, as queues are a bit better and the matches aren't all identical.

Slugging and leaving purposely survivors on the ground to die is bannable
This statement is 100% incorrect.

That's actually the point of slugging build. Make survivors angry and get salt in the post-game chat.
Obviously slugging is boring has hell, but it's fun to do if you are done and tired of getting 4 red rank swfs.
Slugging 4 people is still not a cakewalk.
I've seen people do Slug Races while waiting out the timer, though, and that is pretty entertaining to see.
One guy lined us all up and let the winner get the hatch @_@

It was a pleasant surprise, for sure.
I'm happy that you have also had a positive experience.

you could have tagged them as well. what, scared i'm right?
Let's make this simple:
How long would a match take if you'd hook everyone after slugging them vs how long does it take if you let people bleed out/force them to disconnect because you just stand there?
@bacon said:
i was on a team and all 4 got slugged and then let bleed out. it says slugging is not bannable but what about all the team and no one got put on a hook. just wanting to know the rules thats all.
Since they don't seem like they're going to reply here, this thread, with Almo's reply, should suffice to show you that you're incorrect.
-
I'm really hoping the devs reply to my tags regarding the ultimate, forbidden, apparently bannable strategy of the 4 man slug.

no. slugging on itself has been confirmed as regular gameplay. this is slugging in early game and then barring further gameplay, actively dragging the game out unnecessarily.
don't make me do mathematics
Mathematics has nothing to do with you being wrong.
Tag a Dev - See what they say.
-
@MeltingPenguins said:
And that, my friend, actually constitutes as 'refusing to engage in regular gameplay'.
Despite the imaginary ruleset you're trying to impose, it is "regular gameplay," and has been confirmed as such by the developers several times.
-
I'm actually ok with keys in chests.
I like some of the less favored things in the game simply because they shake things up and keep things dynamic.
People want every killer to be loopable, to 4k every game, remove stuff like NOED, etc.
That's the stuff that'll put me right there in dreamland with Freddy.
-
I'm still baffled that they have not commented at all regarding Last Second Switching.
Can you please at least acknowledge the issue?
-
Reminder that Last Second Switching is still a thing and blows out the integrity of matches, especially if you're locked into a killer with minimal perks/add-ons.
-
You mention trying Small Game and later say you'd have no room for Detective's Hunch, should you level up Tapp.
Just swap whatever perk you initially swapped with Small Game with your newly acquired DH (assuming you actually want to address your concern).
If you don't want to use this guaranteed solution that you've already mentioned having access to (Tapp), then that's on you @_@
-
What killers do you play?
-
It's a reward/second chance/win-more perk depending on the scenario (when the last gen pops).
I think it's pretty well balanced (even with the ignoring Exhaustion aspect), aside from the facet that it activates off the hook, too (mitigating failure while also providing a speed-boost and working with DS/BT).
-
Read the whole thread.
Eyes started rolling when most of the points in the OP had caveats/tired old killer tropes (IE NOED is for bad killers, Adrenaline is not a big deal because killers have insta-downs, don't want to use a perk slot for something that OP feels is an issue, etc - @Huff actually addressed some of them).
Eyes ended up in space (Jupiter, I think) after gaining enough centrifugal force to leave the atmosphere when I made it to this point.
-
Truly a big brain killer move :P
-
Alright - confession time.
I have been trying for days to get it - I already had it in 2018, apparently @_@

I doubt I'll be trying again if I have to rely on RNG to even get the thing :-/
Just another aspect of the game I'm forced to ignore due to bugs, I guess.

He is making a tutorial, but you can see his technique in all of his clown videos.
I just watched the most recent Clown match and, without commenting on anything else, didn't really see anything I'd consider "secret" tech.

If you could link directly to his Clown tutorial or a video that uses the secret Clown tech, I'd be much obliged.

As a seasoned Clown main myself I can confirm they’re 100% right.
When I’m survivor against Clown, or watch streamers playing Clown, many of them do not play him correctly at all. The perception that Clown is weak stems from many players not understanding what you’re supposed to do with the bottles.
Did you ever put out your Clown video?
I'd be interested to see the secret knowledge in action.

Ah yes, here comes the "as a (arbitrary restriction like no add-ons) (x) main, this is what you need to do"
Placing portals on gens is good, however it is even better when you place them in a spot that gives you even more value (such as between two gens that are close by). Also guaranteeing the effects of portal related add-ons is essentially useless when it's either 5 seconds of exhaustion or 30 seconds of blindness, wow, so useful.
Also your statement about rat liver and holding shred clearly shows you aren’t as great as you think you are with Demo.
I'm sure you recall all the complaints on Reddit, Steam, and even in this very forum regarding that crutch!
And guaranteed downs/hits on certain structures/loops without wasting time doing 1-2 more loops? Definitely overrated!

As a mostly survivor player I'd be okay with this too. Makes very little sense to lock the killers and not the survivors. At the end of the day if you didn't prep the right perks and items beforehand, that's on you. Would save killers the pain of last second switch survivors.
There are lots of easy fixes, but they all have to wait until the issue is actually acknowledged and treated as such.

Especially when an SWF can literally just open a log file with text editor and find out who the killer is. Bad decisions on top of worse design.
Even if that is patched (they say it is, currently), the Last Second Switch still throws fair play out the window.
-
Daily reminder that last second switching destroys the integrity of the new MMR system, putting Killers at an unfair disadvantage before the match even starts.
