  • I thought whiffing Blinks with Nurse thanks to Dead Hard was bad, but then I found out about the super awesome strength of "A" and "D" against Blight.

I really don't understand Killer mains lmao.

They're always like "DO BONES LOL"

But at the same time don't want there to be a totem counter. It's like... do you WANT Survivors to do bones, or not??? This is why the whole "Do Bones" argument doesn't sit right with me.

    ---

This scenario is a perfect example of why NOED should be changed.

The ones that are most affected are the ones that do most of the work during a trial or succeed at distracting the killer most of the game. (Lets call them the MVP) The MVP has no chance of doing totems since the Killer won't leave them alone, and then when all gens are done, they get downed and camped and die on first hook.

But it's not the Killer's fault for running a cheap perk, it's the other survivor's fault for not using the time that the MVP is giving them, to consciously run around the map, taking time away from gens in order to make sure all 5 totems are gone.

What is the MVP supposed to do?? GIVE THEMSELVES to the Killer so that they have a chance of searching for totems before endgame?? I don't think so!

I saw an idea of having 5 lit candles in the basement and each fire represents a totem being untouched. This would be a cool addition for a counter.

If I run the killer for 3-4 gens and 0 hooks, I'll usually let the killer down me in a somewhat convincing manner, giving the rest of my team a chance to get some Altruism points, run the killer, and/or play something other than M1 simulator.

In post-game, I'll ask why they didn't even try to take aggro during the match.

    That's just me, though.

On topic - I just use Detective's Hunch if I'm worried about NOED.

Alternatively, you can use Small Game or a Map.

If I'm not using anything to find/break totems and think there may be some left, I'll try not to be in a chase before the last gen is done and respect the killer if I hear them coming before the gates are open.

I'm seriously thinking about running Corrupt+NOED in my matches.

Nothing wrong with an early game and end game perk combo.

aren't you doing the same when carrying survivor to the hook? however you also are risking to lose a survivor

-Pyramid's power is useful because it is instant.

-99% of hook instances don't involve a 15-20 second procedure.

-Losing 1/4 of 2-3 gens and any hook perks to respawn a survivor (at no cost to them, aside from YOUR time) in an advantageous position is very bad.

-Removes any and all hook baiting/removing people off gens for saves if used, allowing further gen progression.

I just played against this team

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6QZGCCQ3WVRF/captura-de-tela-2837-29.png

I've managed to down the whole team 2 times and they had 2 unbreakables to give them second chances, I've managed to blink on top of them multiple times but they all had Dead Hard to give them second chances. They all grouped up on the last gen and 2 of them used decisive strike offensively to give them second chances. They played the game very badly but still get away with it because second chance stacking is meta. What can I do? Nothing. What can you do? Nothing. This is not your fault and there's nothing you can do. Just accept and move on. BHVR keep launching very good utility perks every chapter and people keep using the same mistake-erasing perks since chapter 4. As you can see there's clearly a game design problem here. So again, sometimes there's nothing you can do.

Playing Nurse when a single DH now forces you into double fatigue is pretty ballsy in this meta.

  • Seems like I'd be locking myself into an animation, wherein survivors can belt out gens, with little reward.

Imagine seeing Flashlights as something to worry about in 2020.

Nah, its not a big deal that Survivors can switch. I rarely see Quickswitchers and once again, I doubt that my games are the exception.

Whether you, anecdotally, see it or not is completely irrelevant.

The game's intended design, as stated by the devs, is for killers to be able to adjust their loadout based on what they see in the lobby.

If I see a key, I'd like to bring Franklin's...If I see multiple flashlights, I'd like to bring Lightborn...If I see 4 Medkits, I'd like to bring Sloppy.

If I don't have a counter on my selected killer, I'd like to adjust my add-ons, perks, and maybe even offering accordingly.

Circumventing this intended design is, for all intents and purposes, an exploit, but it's apparently officially endorsed by the devs, it seems.

  • Another day, another boosted meta group destroyed by a mediocre build.

  • I made a topic about last second switching a while ago. Devs didn't reply when tagged - they obviously don't care about people last second switching to keys/flashlights against your level 5 Trapper with 8 perks.

  • Self-Care/Botany/DS/Exhaustion is a pretty solid and safe solo combo - I usually get max altruism using this build if I don't play greedy (which this build also allows).

  • @fordragos said:

Lol how stupid do you think we are? A killer main that wants people to stop hating on NOED so when devs see one positive post about it then they wont dont do anything about it??

You have changed NOTHING with all this fake information of yours without posting screenshots of at least some of the matches against these supposedly 'rank 1 killers' that you went against.

Yes, I am beating a dead horse but I will mention that me and including other people will continue to complain about NOED time to time and the Devs WILL change it at some point in the future. You will NOT change that course of action.

So enjoy noed you baby killer main but know that it will DEFINITELY be changed at some point in the future.

I can answer your question honestly, but given that you made a forum account to post this, I think it's pretty self evident.

  • I usually stop placing traps near the hook after 1-2 unhooks...at that point the damage is done and they'll still crouch for saves :3

  • @Lycidas said:

The hooked survivor will die or be saved eventually, hook stand-off solved.

How can you solve a situation like that without completely screwing the other side? Pretty sure noone wants to see the hooked survivor being transported to a different hook by the entity like it does with Pyramid Head

People have literally been suggesting this since the cage rework....

    It's a terrible suggestion, I agree.

  • I don't mind seeing moris.

The game is a party game/casual game - having an extra hard round every so often isn't a big deal, particularly now that rank is completely meaningless.

Hell, if it's Elephant Clown or Bunny Legion, I'll even leave with a smile.

  • My previous post has nothing to do with gameplay on either side, but its context is obviously not something you're willing to focus on.

Judging from your previous three posts, you've mastered the use of the words "entitled" and "toxic."

Not gonna lie, though - Seeing you call TotH and Devour Hope overpowered was pretty fun to read, but I think it's best to ignore you if you're just going to try and cause unnecessary forum drama :)

I'll just stay here at the forums. Might be a shock to you, but I'm old enough to keep my own counsel. If BHVR wants me gone, they have the ability to make it happen. But until that time, you don't have a say. Actually, you don't have a say, period.

This is a pretty bold and amusing topic coming from a guy that was arguing with me by stating that slugging is bannable - Showed him a dev quote to the contrary and he never came back to the topic.

Look at nurse, oni, billy. They have chase powers they arent complained about. Oni in blood fury can get an easy down any flick billy who is experienced can cut the chase down significantly, and nurse is just.... nurse.

The aforementioned killers except freddy he has counterplay they just need to adjust his snare setting and give him like a movement debuff. Anyways they have really poorly designed chase powers that make sure your input doesnt really matter.

Nurse and Billy are pretty rare after their reworks...which were done because their powers were complained about.

People don't complain about Oni because he has to 'earn' his power with a single M1 (although there are topics/videos that appear complaining about Oni wiping teams in minutes with Infectious Fright, and his 'bug' that dropped 2x blood orbs while injured survivors did actions was recently 'fixed.').

  • @Exerlin said:

Think of it this way: You know how in fighting games, some of the best players get into the competition's head by conditioning them to expect certain outcomes for certain actions? Spirit is dbd's embodiment of that idea. The only issue is that Stridor or the lack of Iron Will make it less about conditioning and predicting your opponent and more about the Spirit's ability to listen closely. If she couldn't hear you during phase, she would be a near perfectly designed killer imo, but she is incredibly one sided in her current state.

In most fighting games, there are legit moments/scenarios where people are forced to guess or lose - (IE in SFV, Mika's F.HP is +3 - If you block it, you have to guess whether she will S.MP/S.HP [you block] or go for a Command Grab [you jump/backdash]...there are no tells).

Overwatch also has scenarios like this that can win/lose fights - (IE Guessing when someone is going to use a stun and using Reaper's Wraith move to avoid it or keeping your own stun up if you guess they have ult but it never happens).

In DBD, people get upset (mostly at Stridor Spirit, I assume) even though they're already put into an unfavorable position (injured) by the 'power role,' and they've brought a perk (Stridor) to help them with that exact scenario.

The real problem, I feel, is that her power is actually useful in a chase:

Every killer that is currently being complained about (Freddy/Spirit/Pyramid Head/Death Slinger) all have powers that help them in chase / drastically cut down on chase times.

Oh lord they don't know. They must be new here.....

DS can only be used ONCE per match. Please open the game and read the perk again and then come back

What an embarrassing and cringy post.

  • Voice Comms are NOT part of the game's intended design and will never be added.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

First of all: Sorry for that experience. It is always annoying if slugging goes this far. I, for myself, don't do such ######### because of certain perks. The only exception is Object of Obsession where I either ignore the player or tunnel them to the Entity. I just hate that perk and is completely OP versus Freddy (my Main).

I hope you reported that player, because this is more than just slugging to counter DS. This was on purpose. It was to punish you for 2 perks you might have not even had. I had a guy once who tunneled me because 2 of my random teammates had a bnp (at least that's what he said in the end) .

And what do you mean with crosshair btw? Did the player have a program which showed one?

I just use a simple diamond shape cut out of paper, which I hang with a thread on my screen. It is not very accurate, but I never get her axes right, because the trajectory doesn't start in the middle of the scream. It rather starts slightly to the left and a bit lower. Deathslinger is no problem though.

You can slug the entire team at the start of the game for 4 minutes - It's not reportable.

Don't sleep on his portals - Placing them near gens/common pathways will provide you with decent info as well as fast travel.

    Perkwise, he's pretty flexible...

I switch between a standard BBQ/STBFL/PGTW/CI (or NOED instead of CI)

    or a control build using

    Ruin/Surge/PGTW/Surveillance...

With his teleportation, the latter build can really, really slow the game down (even if you have a terrible start) and provide an abundance of information when combined with smart portals.

  • Yeah!

I did pretty bad, but it was fun.

    What's your discord thingy?

  • @Exerlin said:

I've been wanting a big perk patch more than any other patch for the past year or so. The meta is stale and makes both killer and survivor more boring to play. Playing against survivors with DS, Unbreakable, ect is getting old and incredibly frustrating, and having such a large gap between the effectiveness of perks makes playing survivor less fun. You either run the perks that have been incredibly good for over 2 years, or you run the newer perks with all of their preconditions in hopes that you get to actually use them and get a minor benefit.

This is an issue especially for survivors. In the last 11 DLCs that included survivors (from Quentin onward), only about 3 perks are anywhere close to the power of the meta perks. All the other ones have too many preconditions or a very small effect on the match in comparison to perks like DS, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, or Sprint Burst. It would be so very nice to get a patch that balances out all or most of the perks.

A giant 'redo' of most survivor/killer perks would go a long way in breathing new life into the game, for sure.

"What about this", "What about that", "What about X killer thing", "What about X survivor thing". With this attitude nothing will get done. I am focusing on one issue of the game. Yes, there are plenty of crutch and unfair perks survivor has but I am talking about stacking slowdowns.

You're complaining about killers stacking multiple perks to drag the game out in the killer's favor (hindering survivor progress), so you're obviously going to run into the counterpoint of survivors using multiple perks to do the equivalent to the killer.

If you're not going to address it when it comes up, you're just going to come off as biased and/or ignorant.

  • You stated that it is refusing to engage in normal gameplay (which is bannable).

Additionally, if you are slugged when the EGC starts, the EGC timer is also 4 minutes (the exact same amount of time it takes to bleed out).

  • No, it's not.

    See Almo's reply here -

i think its bs that people dc a lot dont get me wronnggggg! a lot of people jumped to conclusions about why i posted this but i was meaning that if a killer is taking the game hostage and just being a douche for no reason and lashing out on players who are just vibin we should be able to dc, i will not excuse a survivor dcing at the beginning of the game though for barely any reason. i made this post out of frustration after being slugged and left to bleedout when i had a full bleedout timer and the killer refused to pick me up and hook me

That's not taking the game hostage.

You have to accept that you can be perma-slugged, face-camped, tunneled, etc every time you queue as survivor.

This can lead to some unfun scenarios, but they're still a part of normal gameplay.
