This is a latency issue, and it's not part of Hit Validation which is entirely for melee hits. We're aware of the issue, and are looking for ways to address it.
If you know this is a problem then why make killers try to complete grabs for archive challenges?
-
So what about Compound 33 now? It seem to only add hindered and I don't think that its worth the bloodpoints as an ultra rare.
-
Just get out. I lost and I'm cool with that, but I don't need you to rub it in.
-
This will only bring more toxicity into already pretty toxic community. I hope this never comes to console.
I already get toxic messages and it's a pain in the butt to send anything through the ps4
-
Old Bubba had personality.
The new one is just another run and gun killer. I honestly think they could of tried and played with the numbers a little before doing a rework.

The PC community coughs up the most money, so of course they're going to have favoritism.
Maybe that would change some if these problems were fixed.
Also, any post on the graphics improvement never mentioned anything on performance.
-
It's not right and I wouldn't do that myself, but it does sound a lot like when survivors would DC instead of letting the killer get their basement archive challenge.

A few things to note:
- The game does not use the colour of your rank for matchmaking, it's based on the actual number. It's normal for a rank 6 to get rank 4 teammates/opponents, they're only two ranks away. Even at rank 7, rank 1 is still within the acceptable 6 rank range for matchmaking.
- You seem to have lumped in draws and losses together, but you haven't done the same for draws and wins.
The second one in particular seems to be the issue. You're counting a draw as a loss when it's really not, it's a draw. You neither ranked up nor down, you're staying right where you are. It sounds to me like it's more a perception issue in this case: You're doing well and you're winning about half your matches, and as a result, you rank isn't increasing higher than it should (or dropping any further and giving you easier matches).
I would strongly advise against using rank as a measuring stick. You don't need to be rank 1, not everyone should be rank 1. It's a number used for matchmaking, it's not something that everyone is expected to do.
The thing is, for killer, a draw most of the time it still feels like a loss. So you can't really blame this person for their perception.
I'm not saying that awards should be given out because of a draw, but I do believe as the developers of the game you need to do more to change this overall impression.

@Peanits can you guys add bigger penalties for disconnecting? maybe lock them from matchmaking for longer or something? i still get a dc almost every other game.
I would agree with you but I've disconnected twice since I started playing a year ago. First time was because of an infinite loading screen, the second one was because I was stuck on top of a pallet as Legion. Both if these were last week and I got hit with the 5 minute wait.
Until the game is more stable we need to keep the penalty somewhat low.

Thanks for the info.

You are able to blink on the stairs and the catwalks, but it requires precise aim with your blinks. Good survivors use that against you, because it's easy counterplay.
And i wouldn't recommend using Plaid Flannel", because it's bugged as hell.
I normally don't use it. I just put it on every now and then just to help realign myself with the blink distance.
-
I've thought about this also. You can see how this would work in the old Burger King game called Sneak King.
Whenever the King would hide in a can or a box it would switch to first person and it would look like you were looking through the King mask

Does not matter.
I made a thread a while ago about being blinded outside of FOV.
It's not just me. I had 1 match where there was less than a foot between me and the wall and still was blinded because of beams from another dimension. it's trash
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/126494/flashlight-blinds-out-of-fov#latest
The other day this happened to me three or four times in one match every time I was looking right at the wall.

@Peanits said:
It would be an easy win in some ways, but not so much in others. For what it's worth, there are people out there who prefer the longer cooldown. Having a loud noise go off every 8 seconds can be distracting and cause you to miss other loud noises (failed skill checks) or impair your hearing in a chase.
Pros:
- T3 would arguably be better afterwards, and it would all make sense.
Cons:
- Everyone who left it at T1 would have to get the T3 version on all of their killers.
- Anyone who does like the longer time in between can't downgrade.
That said, we are aware of Discordance. We know that there's people out there who prefer tier 1 over tier 3. But at the same time, it's a low priority since it's not really hurting anyone as is and you can choose not to level it up if you prefer the lower tiered version of it.
Thanks for the explanation.
-
Because I only unlock Tier 1, Tier 2 is taking a spot for something else. Also, even though it's unlikely, I may run into a situation where I would have to unlock Tier 2 to advance to the next blood web. Then that's not my choice.
-
I miss Evolve.
That and longer queue times for survivors

I can’t say I’ve had that happen in the games I’ve had and if it has happened then it must be such a minimal amount it times that I don’t remember it.
If someone did that to me I would be pissed but at the same time the killer still has a choice to go after the person that unhooked rather than the hooked person. if someone takes the person off the Hook before you get a chance to walk away then you can usually grab them or land a hit in them first anyway.
Then consider yourself lucky because this happens to me quite a bit.
Yeah you could grab the unhooker but if the have DS also active that's a no go. Also grabs are inconsistent with dedicated servers.
I will usually just swing but for some reason I alway hit the one on the hook, but that one is me

@just_a_noob said:
I feel like all the killers that complain about ds and bt are the killers that tunnel and camp. Yes tunneling and camping are legit strategies but so is using bt and ds.
survivors only use those perks because there is so much camping and tunnelling going on.
if a survivor gets unhooked jumps into a locker and you go for them and you get hit with ds, well that was your choice as a killer to tunnel. What’s a survivor meant to do. They don’t want to get hooked as soon as they have been unhooked.
you can’t tunnel and/or camp then complain when a survivor uses one of their perks to counter that.
Then why do survivors with BT go right for the hook even before you turn around. You can't be camping if you don't get the chance to leave.

Around a month to go from a baby to a nurse learner and now on my second month i consider myself a nurse player, we could practice together on psn just tell me your psn and we could do kyf
Same as my user name
-
How long did it take you to get "decent?"
Since this last rank reset I too have been playing nothing but Nurse (PS4). I have gotten a lot better, but I'm still very inconsistent. It's either a 4K or 4 escape.
Once I've started to get the hang of her, the survivors that that would bully me for playing nurse at the beginning of the match would start hiding in lockers. :) I think the console nurse bullying is to try and keep us from wanting to get better at her.

I know this bug on PS4, but it only occurs for healing.
And I'm not the only one, basically every PS4 DbD player I know has this problem on a regular basis, but only for healing.
@Giddawid
Could you please add this to your note for the bug team?No this happens for PS4 Nurse as well. I've been playing her since rank reset and after the first blink I've had both the swing and second blink not work.

I do both ps4 and pc
I decided to play nothing but nurse this month and learn how to use her.
On PS4 she sometimes will not swing after a blink. Have you had this happen? Is this a bug or am I timing my attack wrong
-
"the killer was a little tunnely and ended up finding me again and hooked me"
First off this is not tunneling. That's you not paying attention to where the killer is. Is the Pig just supposed to let you run past them.
Secondly there are some add ons that do mess with the time but there are not overpowered.
Even when running Tampered Timer and the one that punishes you for missing skill checks on the box it still gives you plenty of time to get the thing off. Also as others said the timer does pause in certain conditions are met.
And if it has spawned you could alway just leave with the hatch.

Ghost Rider is part of Marvel. They would never let any of their characters be a part of DbD, lol.
If it's a licensed character, I agree that it's most likely Pinhead.
I know Disney would never give them a license. It was a joke.
-
It's Ghost Rider

@Mew said:
its not the survivors fault that matchmaking is dogshit... they already had to wait in a 5 min queue for the match
No it's not their fault, but how they act when the skill gap is obvious is.
Not saying they should throw the game, but there is no reason to have 3 survivors rush in (with their BT and DS) and had unhook the forth before the killer can even turn around and leave.

It's not that easy for me to explain. At the moment I can only say that looking at incoming statistics on new Ruin it's not behaving the way you would think if you only read the forums. :) It's possible that there will be a community update on it after we've had time to digest what the incoming data mean.
With how matchmaking is woking right now, how accurate do you think those statistics are?
I would think you can't balance the game properly with the rank 11 killers facing rank 1 survivors
-
It's thinking really really hard.
Same thing happens with the PS4. Believe it or not this is normal for DBD.
-
Are you doing anything about my Console sounding like a jet engine when I boot up the game?
-
@Peanits I was talking about this fix
Fixed an issue that caused the movement extrapolation system (tested during the 3.5.0 PTB) to have a slight effect on Survivors movement (although it was meant to be fully disabled).
@Edys is correct about the Doc. It was talked about in that movement thread. Also it's not just the Doc
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1020790#Comment_1020790
-
@Peanits I saw that the Survivor movement might have been fixed what about the Killer's movement problems?
-
That doesn't work.
I tried Lightborn. That also doesn't work
-
Why are there not more complaints about this?
It's bad enough that I'm matched against survivors 10 ranks higher than me, but now they can blind when looking up instantly.
-
That's funny. As a green rank killer I face nothing but red and purple survivors, and most of them are dicks.
-

First thing I've noticed is auto-aim become a bit too forceful. Basically can't lunge for distance at turns, auto-aim locks me into a wall. Or was it what @Purple_Orc said? maybe my camera was just off target? Though I'm on PC.
I had hit so many window frames and wall corners
-
@not_Queen I noticed this as well on the Doctor yesterday. I kept aiming too far to the left or right when trying to hit the survivor(PS4)
I thought you guys might of did something to the control sensitivity.
-
I love using Franklin's especially when I find out a survivor burned a white ward.
-
I would prefer to go after someone without a hat, but what I'm supposed to ignore you as you run past me going to the next box.
At the very least I'm knocking you to the ground.
-
I play 90% killer mainly because of the queue times for survivor.
-
You get less shards when you level up for a little while

They mentioned it during the stream when they finally killed off console nurse.

I wish they would fix them too. It's no fun having to spend blood points on addons that you know do nothing.
-
Chili has no effect on survivor fun, so good luck with that.

Dude, the community can't even agree what tunneling actually is. Therefore it would be impossible to even program such a thing. No to mention the fact that whatever formula you come up with will likely be abused heavily by one side. See Deep Wounds.
The Steve did that knowing he couldn't be stopped. It was a smart play on his part because he was taking full advantage of his perk. Spirit grabbed him like a bot. She fell for the bait. Had she just hit him twice she would have avoided that entirely. Now instead of 2 injured survivors running around, she has 1 slugged and is in a chase with another which she should be able to win easily in 10 seconds as Spirit, 15 if she were smart to wait out BT.
Stop defending killers making dumb decisions. Survivors make ballsy plays like this expecting the killers to take the bait. If you don't take the bait you just counter played them.
I agree with you here. This killer was baited and he was punished for it. But hitting the unhooking survivor is not a reliable solution. The meat shield hitbox are too big.
There have been quite a number of times I've stood behind the unhooker hit him only for both survivors to run off unharmed.

It's just survivors using their perks, killers abuse their perks all the time.
Excuse me but I think your survivor bias is showing.

No they didn't but they are being rewarded for doing 5 generators.
First off doing one half of the objective is not completing the objective.
Secondly the gates being powered up is the reward for fixing the 5 generators. You do not have the right to an escape until you leave.
-
Since @SpaceCoconut didn't say it I will. Watch his youtube videos. He's very good at playing Hag.
-
The only emote I would like for survivors is a stop/wait
-
Last night.
I tried to go Dark Sense, Deja Vu, Bond and I forgot the 4th one. I get into the lobby and I get a message from the killer. He's helping everyone out with their challenges.
So I get to do my 3 gens and after game was over I realized I had Kindred equipped in stead of Dark Sense.🙄
