I just escaped in a snowman for fun and got a cosmetic! Didn't even know that was a thing lol.
Is it an actual cosmetic or a charm?

You can get in the snowmen?!
Yeah survivors can jump into the snowmen
-
Quick question. Do the survivors get injured or knocked down if you hit them while in the snowman, or is this just an extra health state?

they are time limited, they expire on the 16th November 11am ET, but they are one time use codes, so someone got there before you. And you do use the dashes when putting it into the Redeem Code section.
Thanks for the info, but once again the giant codes are not really fair for console players. But I guess that bit of feedback was ignored from the last time you guys did this

Those are in-game store codes, they work on every platform (besides Mobile).
I just tried it with and without dashes, and told it was invalid. Are they timed or limited?

Are they console friendly?

not really, pin head could be at the other side of the map and teleport, he could be chasing literally people at the other side and you are the only one close to solve it, and someone has to because the team is getting hindred massively cause of it, makes 0 sense to deactivate DS there, would hard to code, also still the same applies with other killer powers... like Pig, Trapper, Plague... makes no sense to me deactivating DS for those reasons...
Solving the box changes the game state and signals to the killer you are ready to jump back in and play the game.

dont think solving boxes should do it, would be like if ds should deactivate while getting rid of a bear trap... makes no sense. should deactivate if u bless a totem, im agree there.
I think it's fine if you happen to pick up the box during a chase, but the second you try to solve it DS should turn off.
If you have time to solve the box you're not being tunneled. Same with vaccines.
-
Okay so it looks like there's a few things that are needed to the list of triggers since they are kind of things that already deactivate it.
Also I know solving the box also doesn't do it. Thanks for the answers.

"One of the things that felt really bad for the Killer was when you let get of your power button a little too soon, causing your power to be cancelled entirely."
You know what really feels bad as Plague. Hitting a survivor with a full with the Vile Purge, and they don't get sick
-
The new matchmaking starts tomorrow.
Is pinhead causing disconnects on console or is that just a PC problem?
-
The "complication" might have been the maturity level of the player base.
-
Yesterday hooking survivors was causing my game to freeze on ps4
-
I thought this was gonna be a thread about how the game is just not going to work after the update like the resident evil chapter.
Hopefully they will plug in a few consoles and try it out before the chapter goes live.

This was just posted on the website about Moris.
"Memento Mori Update: We’re also revisiting Moris and discussing a new approach where triggering them is no longer based on the Killer playing an offering, but rather earning them through gameplay during a trial. This would both provide an interesting new game mechanic with new objectives and strategic decision-making, as well as an opportunity for Survivors to either engage with the system or not. This is still in the very early stages and will likely go through several changes before release. "
So it sounds like Survivors can opt out of being Moried. What do you think the chances are that Killers don't get the same option when it comes to keys?
-
I've had this happen to me. It was my controller. I thought it was weird that it only happened while I play DBD but thinking about it I did notice some small odd stuff in other games.Getting a new controller fixed the problem.
-
Yeah but you could be put back to sleep with a hit if you fail a skill check, so there might be a slim chance you'll get some value out of black box.
But that 30 seconds from the alarm clock will kill that add on and it's definitely not worth 6000 BP. Hell, it not worth 3000

Imagine not giving a ######### about 7 knifes in your back until the 8th hits you.
You know what might have been cool? For each knife the in the back of the survivor they would get a slight movement speed penalty.
This would at least give the Trickster a reason for all the slowdown.
-
No. The toxicity far outweighs the 1 or 2 nice survivors out there.
I still get surprised when some asshat takes the time to send me something through the playstation messaging.
-
I thought Freddy was the most hated killer in the game.
No wait...it's Spirt. No, no it's Nurse, or was it Deathslinger?
I think I've heard somewhere Legion is the most hated. I can never keep up.
-
When I first saw the new killer I thought they added one of those sparkly vampires. Then I looked into it and found out he's not a vampire, he's just a douche.

The fact that we got a K-Pop character won't break the game.
You do realize Fortnite is multiple times bigger than Dead By Daylight ever will be, right? Fortnite get's a license like every other week. Fornite sneezes and the entirety of the MCU and Star Wars rush to clean it up. It's not embarrassing that DbD is just a smaller game.
At topic, yeah, probably. The game won't die, new players will stream in as they always have, but it may lose a big chunk of long time players if the chapter is bad again.
You have to remember all three franchises are owned by Disney.
-
It's Photoshop, and bad Photoshop. The neck doesn't line up.
-
Yeah, this is still doable. I had just got the Jake face about a month ago.
I just need Dwight.

... crap again!
Please BHVR, break the hitboxes again pretty please?
And while you're at it please put the survivor icons in the HUD on the bottom and not on the left where they block our view.
That or make killer more fun and worth playing
-
I also play on console. I took a month and played nothing but nurse. Lost a lot and I still kind of suck at playing her.
I think survivors bully new nurses extra hard so they will quit trying before they get good.
Had a match where the survivors started out acting like the usual ass hats, but once they saw a was somewhat okay at nurse they all started hiding.
-
Only the naive think this would be a nice thing and a good idea.

Was it tge chapter or second hotfix? I remember something was the second hotfix.
It was the chapter patch. Legion's lunge in frenzy will be in the next bug fix patch.
-
It's been great. I've actually been matched against survivors close to my rank. The game became fun again

How is that related to survivors still being able to stay under the hook?
Because the right way to deal with that as a killer is to camp the both of them.
-
@Nosferatu3145 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/218751/survivors-hiding-under-hooks
I personally don't care, survivors think they're so smart going under the hook, but don't seem to realize that I'm camping half of their team
I stand there and punish them for it, waiting for the unbreakable, and hoping all the while the one on the hook is screaming at the one on the ground.
It's just not fun.
-
@th3 said:
I think it is unfair that Victor essentially could bypass the anti camp restrictions like that since he physically couldn't be kicked at all.
Kinda moot to say its an unfair change when it's just a QoL update
But survivors can keep you from picking them up by doing the same thing. And this has been goin on for quite a while. Where the QOL for the killers?
-
I would get rid of tiers, reduce cost, and if you're gonna give out blood points, give out enough to actually make a difference.
-
When Ruin was first nerfed and turned into a "late" game perk, Survivors just kept saying, "pressure gens."
Ruin/Undying only works if no one cleanses totems or killers do the one thing Survivors told them to do. Pressure Gens.
So with that being said I was completely surprised that Undying was ever released in the first place. The Dev would have to be blind to not to realize everyone would use it to fix Ruin and actually make it a late game perk.
-
Play however you want. Just don't be toxic to others.
-
The survivors told you exactly how they want to play by the last second swap. So play the way they want, tunnel and camp.
-
You forgot, "You can just unlock the killer for free."
-
Yeah. I hit a survivor with the bottle and had to pressed the attack button like 3 or 4 times before he would swing.
I play on ps4 so it could just that system
-
The clown now has a delay between a thrown bottle and an attack.

Blight's FOV still bugged an entire chapter later btw. Where exactly does our money go?
I'll give them a break on this one. All of Blight's animations are all done with him standing under the ground plane. So there's a lot more to it then just raising him up. Most of that animation needs to be redone.
Plus they have all that unfinished DLC to get out on time.

Take a look at the rest of my posts in the thread - I am more than happy to criticize the devs when they don't follow through on promises...I've got a thread in feedback saying they should delay the Twins until they fix the locker exploit (and had people telling me I was too harsh and whatnot) and every other time they've mucked something up I'm here stating my displeasure.
What I'm not willing to do is criticize an idea if the idea is good. It's a good idea, what they're proposing here. If they don't follow through you can fully expect me to be annoyed and typing up criticism here. But I'm also not willing to say "well yeah right, I'll believe it when I see it" because that's gotta be demoralizing to read...why even bother at that point? I'm happy to say "yes, I like the way this sounds, please actually do this" because it gives them the positive feedback necessary to tell them they should do this. And if they mess it up or don't follow through, I will be all too happy to provide the negative feedback they deserve at that point.
I do see that in the rest of the thread. The thing that rubbed me the wrong what is that folks are telling @KingOfGhost to learn to read when the Dev's track recored shows the opposite of what they are telling us.
King as every right to be suspicious and disappointed about that post.
I had just responded to you, simply because you were the first to jump on him.

@LordRegal said:
In all seriousness, did you read what they were saying? They're going to do bigger things for the anniversary and Halloween events moving forward, but to put the time and effort into that they had to scale the other events back. I'm certainly not one to sing their praises, but I'm completely ok with BHVR putting out two good events and a few minor ones instead of being mediocre year round.
Last year they said they were cutting back on events and things were going to be in the rift, so they could have more time to fix the game. How's that working out?
There's constant bugs, they are now releasing unfinished DLC, and they wouldn't even admit Blight' POV was too low until we all saw he was standing in the ground because of that model bug with the killers. Where's the MMR, hit validation, and console optimization?
Edit:fixed typo

As to why we didn't do this on the PTB:
- Only a small fraction of people opt into the PTB, so we would get far less data and it wouldn't reflect the entire community well.
- Because of the above, ranked matchmaking has been disabled on the PTB for a long time.
Beyond those, if there are other changes on the PTB, it becomes impossible to tell how much of an effect this test had versus how much of an effect the other changes had. If there aren't other changes, even fewer people would opt in just for the test.
I like that you are trying this but with the way matchmaking is right now how good can the data be.
-
@OldHunterLight said:
So holding W this weekend, ok good to know, time to use blight and nurse.
It might be a good test but I just don't like that probably a lot of people will just hold W and do well.
Actually it would be better to play the killers that need bloodlust the most so they can see how this effects them.
-
I think the Silent Hill edition is the latest one. So you should be getting everybody up to Pyramid Head.
Edit: I just read what NomiNomad posted. I would double check the chapters but I think that would be pretty crummy if they were not all in there.

If I'm playing survivor I will usually wait at the gate to let the killer get an extra hit before leaving.
Unless your'e going to give yourself up as a kill, I would prefer you to just get out.
Also just to be clear I have never seen a survivor give themself up.
-
You still gave them real money for imaginary money. When the you finished the rift did they give you your real money back?
-
@MandyTalk, @Peanits, @Almo, do you guys know about this and are you looking into it?

Killers could just join a game and find The Entitys flame to earn the halo, survivours had to find AND survive while glowing brightly! but Killers Halloween event item being limited shows bias. 🤔 Did The anniversay event show the survivour bias...
pfft.
Do you know why survivors had to escape?
It was to keep them from dc'ing or killing themself on the first hook as soon as they got the halo, ruining the game for everyone else. So blame the survivors for that one.
