Haha I'm a PSN user. I have the analog sticks and R1. I know things can be more difficult on console (like not healing too close to a pallet) but looping shouldn't be as much of a problem.

Change your controller buttons. I use R3 for vaults and dropping pallets and R1 for healing.

No more dropped pallets accidentally, I used to do it all the time lol.

  • I'm gay but do not really care if none are gay, some are or all are, they are characters in a game and it doesn't affect me in real life.

  • I'm like this as well. People can loop me around the same loop about 4 times, more if there are windows. I try it and only can manage 1 loop, without windows, before the killer gets a hit.

If I try to hug the loops tightly, I always seem to get stuck on the corners. I know myself most are playing efficiently and not cheating but their 4 loops to my 1, and having no idea how they do it, makes me feel as though I will never get better.

  • Mine was 39GB on PS5 and then it has to copy the files so a good hour before I can play.

I too wondered why it was so high so I looked on their news site for the patch notes. At least it's a one off but will this still make it faster in future for PS5 since it also has to make a copy of the game files first? Wish Sony changed this after the PS4 days.

It still feels bad. I returned to the game as a killer main for the tests and had fun on certain days but whatever is implemented now is just as bad, if not worse than before. I was hopeful but alas played a game with the Hillbilly (haven't played him in 2 years?) and was matched with god tier level survivors. Thought it was a fluke but 4 or 5 matches (and losses) later and they're still untouchable survivors gods. Makes no sense. Add in boons and DH and it's just a nightmare. Honestly, after 5+ years of playing DbD, a game I used to love, I've finally uninstalled the game. I can't justify torturing myself and wasting hours of my free time with this mess anymore. Looking forward to the new Evil Dead game instead!!

What they should have done is kept the old rank system but implement it with the full reset reward system. You then know what to expect the higher you rank.

As a solo q player. I used to get decent teammates but now its a bunch of brain dead Claudettes and Meg heads.

I just got a Meg who wouldn't heal me. I thought she wanted to finish the last gen so we worked on that and then she ran away from me lol

  • Won my first match, lost my next 4 and got a nurse that could blink right to me lol.

How is the hacker/cheater situation? That is another reason I left, there were far too many.

Same as ever. Either you 4k at 5 gens or get 0 kills with 3 hooks.

So nothing has changed at all then?

  • Forever getting matched with players much higher than my skill level and sbmm seemingly not dropping my score after many, many losses in a row, 0k or 1k maximum.

I tried only playing survivor for a few weeks but it got stale for me just playing one role. Then all the ddos attacks and the increase in hacking kept me away.

I'm back now, after a couple of months, and just bought the new chapter. I will work on levelling them once I have all my other killers P3 or survivors up to level 50 as I don't bother prestiging the survivors.

Oh wow I didn't know there was a console content creator; will definitely be checking it out thank you <3

SerenitySoloGamer does all his games on PS5. He has only been uploading a month so still finding his footing but only does YouTube vids, not Twitch.

His earlier videos sound quality is not that great but upgraded his microphone apparently so maybe start with the 2nd half of his videos.

Not that good at the game but seems like an OK guy :p

I just don't get how the dev's have implemented the Idle Charlotte solution for body-blocking:

If a killer or survivor hasn't moved in a significant amount of time(30+ seconds) then they lose collision player until they move for X seconds and Y meters away from said spot.

This would stop both sides from body blocking someone in a corner and trust me survivors love pulling this too on other survivors...Usually 3 man SWF against solo queue survivors.

I agree, something definitely needs to be done about it. As you say survivors can do it too, I experience it more from survivors than killers. This was the first killer I have gone against that did this.

  • @Voodoo101 said:

I have seen other post where people DC'd and the remaining survivor moaned because the killer killed them. They said that the killer should have let them do gens and escape.

Now we have a post because the killer did not kill, maybe the killer was trying to be nice and let you wiggle and do gens, both getting BP.

It seems like there are some times when the killer does not know what to do for the best. I have been in both situations, killed and been argued with, not killed and been argued with.

No, if my video was not removed you would have seen it.

They did not let me touch a gen, they downed me not long after me wriggling free. In the end they body blocked me for over 8 minutes.

The video goes live at 11.05pm gmt, 20 minutes after this response, on serenitysologamer channel on you tube, I'm not allowed to post it here as it got me 'jailed' hence the icon next to my name.

Just look up the 'nurse takes the game hostage' at that time. You will see the killer was not being nice.

  • They are deleting my responses and jailed me.

I quit for good, bye everyone.

  • @Seraphor said:

Did you file a report in game? Because that's what they do against taking the game hostage, they ban people who do it, but you need to report them.

I did and sent them the link as video proof too.

Care to name a few, as correct if I am wrong most games that have a DC pen. Are less played. As gamers will not stay in games/lobbies with cheaters or laggers.

This game has streched res gamers, which is an advantage. Also has speed hackers as survs/killers. Then there is the SWF it was known long ago most gamers will not play agaisnt stacked teams.

So with this game being unbalanced as it is and broken, why should any game be forced to stay in a game thats liek this?

I had to dc today due to a body blocking Nurse who had me trapped for almost 10 minutes so maybe there needs to be some sort of measure that puts frequent disconnecters in with others and leaves the minimal, rare dc's alone.

  • None that I have seen. I have been playing ps5 with crossplay turned on and all is fine for me right now.

  • Each survivor could be considered a seperate load out, that's what I am going to use them for anyway.

Want a healing build, use Claudette. Want a stealth build, use Nea etc. Killers however don't have this luxury.

The perks are in alphabetical order so they are not that hard to find. I just keep forgetting ruin is not in R, it's in H for hex ruin lol.

  • I found focusing on bp instead of kills helped me stress a little less.

Getting more bp than the highest scoring survivor was a win. If one or two had more than me it was a draw. If 3 or 4 people scored higher than me it was a loss.

There is something funky with matchmaking right now - I get a ton of TTV groups with thousands of hours played to my sub 200 who absolutely smoke me, time and time again.

See above. Something feels off with killer SBMM. Regardless of how much I lose, I only seem to get stronger opponents. Pre Halloween patch, I had mostly even games.

    I agree with you.

Loss after loss for many, many games, 0k or 1k, then the game throws me a bit of pity, roughly a 2k or 3k, before getting slaughtered again game after game.

It seems I have to lose 10 matches before my mmr drops a little. Win 1 and it raises a lot.

Killers I have not ever played I actually get slaughtered with. Twins took plenty of games to get an average score with, same when I first started playing Demogorgon.

There is definitely something wrong with the way killers mmr are being calculated. This is probably why they never want us to see our own mmr rating.

  • I always take in brown medkits for the challenges to deplete 5, or so, medkits. I use it and hope to find another, or better rarity, in a chest. 2 towards the stacks, yay.

  • One person needs to be taken out early to make it fairer for the killer and give them a small amount of their power role back.

Too many pallets, gen speeds, bad rng with safe loops (good for survivor though). Not to mention killer objectives keep increasing.

It went from find, chase, down, hook survivors to adding breakable walls and now totems. To do this 12 times is not really an option unless you are an extremely good killer or you get terrible survivors.

Someone needs to go ASAP. If they tunnel and/or camp all game though they are just a terrible killer imo.

  • I like the extra mini rift for the bp and like pumpkin smashing.

They have not learnt however that the event offerings, the seeds, should spawn at least once per bloodweb. They are more rare than mori's.

I do not like the fact that you have to actively finish a gen to get the extra bp. I work on a gen for 95% progress, get chased off, someone else finishes it, no bonus for me. It should have been like past events where you got the bonus for the gen being completed regardless of who finished it.

  • @Gwinty said:

Funny thou: Sometimes I feel like these spawns are better than any "hidden" spawn. I could spend a few minutes playing the game with a totem like this but my Bloodfavour got cleansed asap when it spawned very well hidden on the Saloon.

Sometimes hiding in plain sight works.

It happened with my devour once. I saw it out in the open between two gens, very easily seen. It was autohaven wreckers and automatically thought goodbye hex.

Because I never had ruin they may have thought it was haunted grounds or something. Once I got 3 stacks, I got a 3 gen around it and since I could easily spot it, it was a rare 4K for me.

If you're getting insane sweaty survivors then your MMR isn't as low as you think. Try getting a 0k for like 10 matches in a row and you can see some low MMR gameplay. I've hit what I think might be the MMR floor on one of my killers (of course, no way of knowing, because there's no indicator of any kind :/) and the survivors are just atrocious.

Just look at my videos on YouTube. My killer games are loss after loss after loss for many games until it throws me a pity bone. Then I may get a 2K then many more losses after that.

It seems my mmr does not go down no matter how devastating the game went for me.

  • I had a game like that the other day. No matter which gen I worked on, the survivors in chase always came to loop there.

I don't think I completed more than one full gen in that game lol.

  • I don't mind about the ready button, at least the match will start in 1 minute. What I want is a lockout of switching items for survivors after 30 seconds. This way they still have the initial 30 seconds of they forget to equip something, it just kills the last second switch.

  • I doubt they are going to do anything about gen speeds because they said in a past video, I can't remember the exact words, something like it wouldn't be fun sitting on a gen for 2 minutes when asked about increasing gen times.

They need to take out a few pallets imo. It only takes one survivor, with 3 being efficient on gens, to run around the map and pre drop pallets. All gens get done and there are still one or two pallets remaining.

Now I know you shouldn't do that and apply pressure to gens but the fact you can do it shows there are too many pallets on the map.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

At lower mmr where the chill survivors are.

    No they are not lol.

At most I get a 1K during egc and not many hooks with gens popping all over, survivors knowing how to loop, mostly full meta perks and t bags at the gates.

I'm not a very good killer and deserve to be at low mmr, I just wish I never got the sweaty games I must endure at low level.

  • Unfortunately I don't think they will ever fix the grind, or at least until a viable competitor starts stealing players.

They think it's the grind that keeps people coming back, for me it isn't. I have had to take so many breaks because the grind has caused burnout with the game. I always focus on getting the perks but when you spend 2 million BP to get level 1 bbq, that's far too much.

  • Mine was Sonic the Hedgehog, sorry I'm old lol.

I loved the old 2d games, and mania, but after Sonic Adventure 2 the games started to feel less and less enjoyable, the only exception to this being Sonic generations.

They were changing them for the better but when they started making them how they thought worked best instead of listening to the fans, they seriously went downhill.

Look at the reputation Sonic games have now, everyone expects the worst but hopes for the best. They may pull one good game out from a bunch of shoddy ones now.

I fear this is how Dead by Daylight is going. BHVR are doing what they think works and barely listening to fan feedback.

  • I use this since I'm a bad looper and the buff really made it great. If we get to 1 gen and I get chased, you can guarantee I will run to pallets and pre drop them to buy enough time for the gen to be done and hopefully the door 99'd.

Only 1 gen though, no more. At 5 gens I think a have a phobia of dropping them lol.

  • As survivor I'm not a good looper, I'm a fantastic gen jockey though lol. I think I deserve my low mmr there but keep getting really good killers most of my matches.

As killer I really feel your pain. I have to painfully lose so many matches before getting one equal match. Even if I play fair, like I try to do, I may get a 2k and the other 2 on final hook. Then I'm back to lots of painful losses, rinse and repeat.

I really wish I could toggle of 4 people SWFs, only 4 though and not 3 or 2 person teams.

  • I'm the same as Mandy. I cannot recall the amount of times I look at my challenge whilst waiting for a lobby to ready up then just after the match loads I cannot remember what my challenge was lol.

I would like this feature too, nice QoL for us forgetful people.

It's absolutely impossible for my demo to have a higher MMR than my Doctor or Hag. I get 2-3k on those killers every game, sometimes a 4k. And I'm facing survivors of a similar skill.

On my demo, at most I get a 2k, usually a 1 or 0. For 11 games now.

I'm facing significantly better survivors on my demo.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2590382#Comment_2590382

Here's an experiment for you then. Grab a killer you haven't played in a while (MMR refreshes after 3 weeks of inactivity). Play them and go deliberately easy for a few games. Note the perks, skins, addons etc. of the people you are up against.

Let me know what you find.

MMR refreshes after 3 weeks of inactivity? I didn't know that, I thought they stuck with their score until you changed it by playing a match.

Is that 3 weeks full inactivity, not playing at all, or just 3 weeks not playing a specific killer? For example, I play all but demogorgon for a month then try a demogorgon game?

  • I'm following this post and hope people provide solid answers because this has me worried. Not only can I not afford another PS5 right now, I wouldn't be able to find one if I could.

Turning off crossplay gives you about 2 games an hour.

  • I will never be good with flashlights and I still don't like T bagging however I am slowly moving towards a full meta build even though I tried to avoid 4 meta perks. I'm up to two right now, ds and dead hard but dead hard rarely works for me lol.

  • About 20 out of my 30 matches today at least 2 dc'd early. Overall I probably had about 3 proper matches in 3 or 4 hours of playing.

Getting sick of it now if I'm being honest.

  • MMR is supposed to make the games 50/50 win/escapes for survivor. I would say it goes against me and I die in about 80% of my matches and it still doesn't get any easier.

I have stopped playing killer for now because no matter how many 0k games I had, even though I was sweating like mad to try and get kills, I still got very efficient survivors kicking my butt match after match.

Neither side are enjoyable at the moment. I regret being an advocate for mmr before it fully released.

  • @SRGII said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/289469/the-game-is-unplayable-and-no-fun-right-now

A game thats this unblanced and has bugs should not have a DC penalty at all.

Then all games would become unbearable and many people would leave. What's the point in playing a game if the games are just a dc simulator.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

I usually quit if there early DC and the killer has meta, 3v1 isnt fun, I cant do my challenge and while there is no penalty I might as well just find a new match.

It's not like I was going to escape a 3v1 so I'm dropping in mmr and cannot progress anything. Plus most killers seem to still really try and slug all 3 for whatever reason.

But yes turn on dc penalties, and also penalize people who suicide on first hook (if you die within X seconds on your first hook while X survivors are alive, ban)

I had to dc in one match, didn't have a choice. The first person downed in the first minute killed themselves on hook, quickly followed by two dc's and the hatch spawning seemingly right under the tricksters feet as it was closed very quickly after the last survivor dc'd. It was Midwich so the exits are very close together.

I very rarely dc, only if I get stuck on an infinite loading screen normally, but I felt forced into it during this game.

  • I would be grateful if

    It was balanced fairly

They did proper QA on all platforms before releasing new content delaying it if necessary

Got an anti cheat system that actually worked and went after those who are selling the cheats/hacks with lawyers. Obviously they can't do that with the actual script kiddies who work alone as easily.

Kept bugs/glitches/exploits much lower than they are now and got to work on them more quickly.

Do something so the game will tell if someone dc's with the 'leave match' button and punish accordingly.

Ban IP address/account of hackers, the bigger ones will use a VPN but they may catch some. Instead they are just thinking 'they will buy the game again. More money for us'.

Treat their players with more respect, being grateful to the player for playing. They could be more open with us instead of trying to fob us off all the time.

Listen to people who know how to play the game, who know what's too strong or too weak. To make a game the player wants to play, as of now they are making it how they know it makes money.

    Lessen the grind.

Stop making empty promises. The crafting system and early game collapse for example.

There are many, many more examples I could give. They don't deserve us to be gracious right now.

  • I think it was more a comment on the spelling mistake. Do strong instead of too strong. I could be wrong though.

Edit oh, you replied to your own comment. I never realised lol.

  • I'm the same as killer. I get 0k, or 1k during egc, for about 10 matches as the survivors are still above my skill level. Then it may throw me a pity bone and let me get a 2k. Then I go back to the 10 extremely difficult games, rinse and repeat.

  • It's the same on the survivors side. I put all the bp, 666,666 bp, I got upon logging in onto mikela and got 3 seeds.

The drop rate for them are ridiculous and one should be guaranteed per bloodweb. I played about 20-25 games today and barely any were being used from both sides.

  • I quite like the event even though I have not managed to find a pumpkin to smash yet lol.

An extra rift, sort of an extra objective and costumes to earn. Not quite up to the pustula event but one of their better ones recently imo.

    Don't hurt me no more

(Now I'm oddly wanting a Haddaway DLC pack. 🤷‍♂️)

I was coming here to say that lol

  • I had a really long load time to get into a match yesterday evening. It was autohaven wreckers, I thought somebody had dropped out but once we finally got in the game progressed normally with everyone present. It was about a 3-4 minute load time.

I am on PS5, normal match, solo queue, crossplay enabled, but I can't remember which survivors were there with me. I played Kate Denson.

It's only happened the once so far, fingers crossed. Normally loading into a match doesn't go over 30 seconds though unless someone disconnects.

  • Maybe not destroyed completely but a mechanic like being woken up when going against Freddy.

Everytime it gets snuffed out, it takes maybe an extra 5 seconds each time to reignite it or something. This way they can decide whether or not to reignite it if it has been snuffed out 4 times already.

It will also keep those gen speeds down lol

  • The problem I have is if you buff survivors, you buff swfs and swfs don't need buffing.

Solo queue on the other hand does need an information buff such as basekit kindred but that goes back to the original point that bhvr would feel swfs also get these due to fairness, making them stronger.

1 2 3 4 … 21
