Do you know what devotion level you are?
Devotion 7

I'm approaching 2000 hours on Xbox.
-
From a Console perspective,
Low tier, same problems as Old Legion. If they decide they want one person to die, there's not much you can do since they are VERY good at camping and slugging.
However, they are bad at literally everything else. Victor is WAY too punishing for the meagre reward he gives, Charlotte wakes up too slowly, Victor gets shut down on most loops since your camera can't go up ect ect

We anticipate that kind of stuff, and just opt to leave the key in the chest until it's closer to go time. We did that against a Legion who was legit laughing at the end there, because we popped the last gen, went to the chest and grabbed the key, then literally trained to the hatch, rendering him unable to close it as each of us jumped into it. He would have to wait until the one survivor's jump animation was done, then try to move in, but the next survivor was jumping, and finally, I come fast-vaulting in through the shack window and hop in last. He was literally happy that the ending was so entertaining, and gave us a gg. But yeah, you won't see us with a key, because we don't carry it on our person.
So, I should simply slug everyone at the beginning of the game?
I'm sorry, but what you're doing is pretty near uncounterable and a prime example of why Keys NEED to be nerfed.

yes, that is also the change i would suggest for Undying.
i never really understood why they added that to begin with tbh, Undying is supposed to protect your Hexes after their destruction, but right now it just protects your Hexes, your Dull Totems and gives you free map info and tracking on Survivors...
I'd honestly just get rid of the aura reading on dull totems.

How do you see which perks use beforehand? There isn’t anything you can do except slug every round if you’re really that paranoid.
But I already knew about this technique. It works even without the offerings but every little bit helps.
I don't.
But if I don't see a key when the match starts and I do later, people are gonna get slugged.
It isn't fun, but it's pretty much the best way to deal with a key.
-
Well, if I see people doing this I'm gonna slug.

The thing with Demo is that so few seem to actually think about taking advantage of the fact that survivors know you’ve teleported. I don’t hold Shred in high regard, but portals work brilliantly as a trap that tricks survivors into letting their guard down.
If I’m sure survivors are in the area, but can’t actually find them, I’ll place a portal down and teleport to another close by. 9 times out of 10 when immediately returning from where I just teleported from I catch out unprepared survivors that have just come out of hiding on that freshly created portal or a nearby gen.
Still, it's a gimmick. If one Survivor has Spine Chill, the whole plan is ruined and it's not something that is likely to win you games. Not saying it can't, but if you have to rely on that, then the rest of his kit must be poor.

its not ridiculous lol, you will eventually get players 4+ ranks above your current rank
and it does NOT happen all the time, and you literally exaggerated a lot by stating that we """""""""should"""""""" match rank 20 survivors with rank 1 killers
that doesn't happen since 2017, and that's that. You will go against good survivors eventually, fact. You will get high rank killers such as 11-7 if you're 13, fact. The rank fluctuates but it doesn't fluctuate up to 10 RANKS. Your examples are completely ridiculous.
"Also, its not an issue if they're getting high rank survivors." You literally just said that it doesn't matter, so why shouldn't we match new players against veterans? Unless, of course, that getting constantly stomped on by people isn't fun and conducive to a good experience.
It actually still happens. Either the MM screws up or their is a SWF. Rank takes the average of the 4 Survivors and tries to find a Killer within a few ranks of you. If your average Rank is 8, then the ideal Killer would be 6-10, for example.
However, since there are so many Survivors in Red Ranks, this often gets expanded to include more populous Ranks of Killers, which is why Rank 18 Killer's get matched with either Purple or Red Ranked Survivors fairly frequently.

Do I want them? Yes.
Do I think the game should force them, or be balanced around them through base-kit gameplay? No.
Do I like perks that promote this like Borrowed Time and Make Your Choice? Yes.
Do I think there's room for a Survivor perk that Transfers a Hook State? Yes.
Also, you can absolutely 12-Hook and still tunnel like a madman (though at that point it's more like a 10-Hook). Your argument should be more about target prioritization: Do you think Survivors that Unhook another Survivor, or Survivors that have yet to be Hooked should be a more preferable target? If so, How would you approach this?
I think Make Your Choice is way better designed than BT.
BT is abused. It was supposed to allow a person being camped a chance to get away, but in 99% of cases, it's used to facilitate what would be a farm without Borrowed Time.
Just change it to be distance AND time based. If a Killer is within X meters of the hook for X amount of seconds, BT can be proc'd. It counters Killers with no TR who are actually camping (Wraith, Insidious, GhostFace ect) but it stops Survivors from using it to unsafely unhook their teammates as soon as the Killer turns their head.

"often" like 1/10 matches ? Also, its not an issue if they're getting high rank survivors sometimes - as a matter of fact, that's good
they'll get a taste of how high rank survivors play, which it ain't a big difference because the general IQ between rank 1 survivors is below average.
So, you'd like a new player to go up against someone who likely has at least 400 more hours than them? My brother recently picked up DBD again, and I've watched him play. He gets a Purple Rank or above in roughly 6/10 matches.
Should we match Rank 20 Survivors against Rank 1 Killers so that they can "get a taste of how high ranked Killers play?"
Of course not. Your argument is completely ridiculous. New players should play with other new players.
-
@sQuAde said:
"gave bad killers a chance to at least do decent."
first of all, if you're doing bad you shouldn't deserve a kill in the first place. The mori nerf was a good change.
In a game where there is no tutorial and these players are often being thrown to high ranks, yes, there should be something to allow them training wheels until they figure out how to play the game.
Not saying that the mori nerf didn't need to happen, but it did help out lower skill players in dealing with people whom they shouldn't be playing with. And I think the OP's point in bringing that up was that new players have zero training wheels and it makes for a very hostile experience that drives many away.

As someone who mains Bubba and Demogorgon, I firmly believe they are the most underestimated killers in the game.
As for Bubba, people underestimate just how lethal his chainsaw is. You can't loop it anymore since his rework and have to drop the pallet, or you just die. He punishes survivors who stick together and is obviously amazing at patrolling or camping. I think people have yet to realise how strong he is since his rework.
Demogorgon is often seen as a trash killer and I am quite stern on defending this cute boi. He has insane map presence with his portals, that offer awareness of where the survivors are (killer instinct, placed near gens) and can be a slow-down mechanic (12-15 seconds to cleanse a portal) if survivors cleanse. If they do not cleanse, he gets even better mobility, but cleansing can be countered by placing two portals at the gen (one active only) and prioritising defending particular gens. His shred is a strong anti-loop tool, destroys a lot of structures and is only unusable at very circular loops. He has everything a killer needs to be good, but seems to be slept on for some reason?
Thoughts?
Bubba I absolutely agree with.
Demo I do not. His jack of all trades style means he isn't really good at anything. His Shred is pretty awful on Console and is easily juked. His Portals do offer mobility, but everyone knows when you use them and they are static. He has very little map pressure because of that. He excels at nothing and is painfully meh at everything. In short, I really WANT to like him, but Demo is mediocre and bland, which is painful because it's so cool in the show.

Uh... Maybe a Hag too, but that's a hard maybe. And maybe Billy. I think that's it. I may be forgetting someone. Edit: I forgot about Spirit. Fredy too, probably.
Deathslinger, for all the hate he gets, couldn't due to his lack of map pressure (imo). And neither could anyone else, since they rely on Add-Ons way too much (Wraith, Myers) or maybe they have a solid power, but have zero map pressure (Bubba, Deathslinger.)
I don't know about the Twins, I haven't seen them enough but their main power seems to be slugging and camping, so... Maybe?
Twins can. Their add-ons aren't super good in the first place.

Alternatively, yes.

Pro's: His power is incredible. Speed, map control, anti-loop and instant down all in one.
Cons: He's basically nonexistent on Console since you can't play him the same as PC and his early game is kinda atrocious.

At the end of the day, I do feel like the game is still Survivor-sided, because with most Killers, if you and the Survivors play perfect, you'll lose.

What about Keys is unhealthy? You still have to earn your Key escape.
Ends the game early, allows multiple Survivors to escape, offers zero counterplay ect ect
"You still have to earn your mori, you still had to chase and down a Survivor so it's okay since you earned it." That logic is flawed.
Mori's were much worse than Keys, but that doesn't mean that Keys aren't badly in need of a redesign too.

Destroy the Key.

For what I know the devs tested Legion when the bug was present with their tools and saw it was just an FOV issue, while the speed was the correct value.
I'll try to grab some footage of this later today.
Also, is the team aware of the issues with Bubba and Wraith not receiving their movement speed bonuses?

Well I and most good killer players do absolutly fine with Legion on red ranks.
Otz got 50 wins in a row with Legion without addons.
Not to mention that Legion is amazing at pipping. If you count pipping as a victory then Legion shoots to S tier.
I have pipped while letting every survivor escape. I don't see how you could depip as legion unless you really got outplayed hard at the early game
You are conflating being a good killer player and being a good killer.
I have also gone on some pretty good streaks with Legion, however, I recognize that it was because I was the better player, not because Legion was good.
Even if I had played Scratched Mirror Myers, I still would've won most of those games.

Do note that I'm not saying that Legion is a hidden S tier. I'm saying that he is not bottom of the barrel like a lot of people are saying.
Mediocre against good survivors is what I'm saying
Mediocre against good Survivors to me means de-pips at Rank 1.
2 kills and 2 escapes usually equals a de-pip.

30 second chases are not quick chases. If someone takes 30 seconds to down an already injured survivor then they are either a bloodlust gamer or the survivor is in such a strong spot that they shouldn't even have bothered and should have frenzied them to find a survivor in a weaker spot.
Legion is a 4v1 killer, not a 1v1. You find the weakest link and you exploit it. If any survivor is on death hook then the next hook means someone is out of the game. Legion doesn't have to care about DS much cause they can just find them after the minute had passed
You can disagree with me but statements like "Legion doesn't have a power when everyone is injured" tells me that disagreement stems from you not knowing how legion is played effectivly. Their power is information based first, then injuring.
Losing your power from a missed frenzy hit is a mood point cause good Legion players don't miss. And a succesfull hit with Legion means you have a down so your power isn't instantly needed (while i do agree that it makes no sense for him to lose power after a succesfull hit)
I'm sorry but if we are putting nurse at the top because 5 people in the world can dominate as her then we can't put Legion at the bottom and point to avarage joe's who are missing frenzy hits and take 30+ seconds to down an injured survivor
An avarage nurse who is missing most of their blinks is bottom tier too
On most maps, 30 seconds IS a fast chase. This is assuming the Survivor has DH and isn't in a dead zone.
I would agree with your strat of exploiting the weakest link, but that is kinda what you should do on most Killer's.
Info is worthless without a means to act on it. Killers who rely on M1 hits and mindgames around pallets aren't going to be high on the tier list, which is exactly what Legion is.
I play on Console where FPS drops to 15 whenever Frenzy is used. Additionally, a successful hit with Legion does not equal a down. By saying that, you could also say that getting a hit with ANY Killer equals a down.
Nurse has the POTENTIAL to be broken, which is why she is normally considered top tier. Legion has the potential to stomp bad Survivors and the potential to be mediocre against good one's.

You have quite an odd definition of "extremely early" when 4 out of 5 Gens were done at this point and the Killer got at least 1 Kill at this point.
If we compare it to a Mori, this can be a dead Survivor with 5 Gens, which means, the game is over and the Killer won and will just get some Bonus points from the remaining Survivors.
And well, people will freak out anyway. Even if they KNOW that Keys WILL get changed, because the DBD-Community is like that.
In terms of game length, the first 3-4 gens could easily pop within 5 minutes. A good three gen can be held for 10 minutes, thus by using a key, Survivors are forcing the game to end early and are ensuring the Killer de-pips.
With a mori, Killer's are ending the game way earlier than Survivors do with keys and are ensuring that Survivor de-pips, but the Killer will probably de-pip too.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Keys dont end games extremely early, Survivors have to do the majority of their Objective to have multiple Survivors escape with a Key.
Not saying that Keys are weak by any means or should not be changed. And they will get changed, just at a later point.
If a Killer has a three gen, then yes, the Key does end games extremely early.
They should've been changed at the same time, if you change one before the other, then people will freak out.

Going to let someone explain it who can do it better then me.
The biggest problem is that most Legion players are dead set to get all the survivors in a single frenzy and just end up losing their power in front of a healthy survivor.
Instead of getting a frenzy hit against the closer survivors, looking where the others are, ending their power to then walk to the remaining survivors with their power recharged by the time they get there.
Legion is a information killer. You only need to find one survivor to be able to pretty accuratelly detirmine where they all are.
On top of that they are small and make little to no noise so they are among the best to make m1 mindgames with and with everyone injured 1 mindgame is all you need to get a down.
Tbh how people think Legion is worse then Myers while Myers has to stand still and look at survivors to get the same effect that Legion is getting while getting information and stalling the game is mindboggling.
Now don't get me wrong they are nowhere top tier. But there are so many killers that are way worse of then them
I'm going to disagree.
Legion does function exactly like that at lower Ranks, but once Survivors realize they can play and loop while injured, it doesn't really matter. Even if you have relatively quick chases, let's say 30 seconds, you will still lose.
Trapper, if he three gens, is pretty good.
Pig, well, honestly yeah Pig might also be with Legion in the bottom tier.
Wraith has the same issue as Legion, easy first hits but it's miserable trying to chase someone.
Myers is definitely outdated, but his ability to snowball and ignore health states is good.
Legion, for all intents and purposes, has no power if Survivors do not heal. He eats a longer stun than Nurse for using his power, his power immediately cancels upon a missed swing and he loses his power if he hits a Survivor with a normal attack.
Legion is only good against Survivors who do not know how to play against him.

And that's why the devs have held off of just shoving in that one of their existing characters is gay. So many gay people love David (from my experience anyway) and so just go "btw guys David is gay have fun", but they want to actually do it properly and do it justice, like they have with Zarina and Elodie and Claudette; the fact they're non-white isn't an integral part of their lore (I mean, it is for Zarina but it's not all she's about) and yet people adore Elodie because of how she looks; it's good representation. That's what they're wanting to do for an LGBT+ character (in their own words, anyway, we'll have to see how it pans out) and honestly go BHVR for that.
If you don't care about LGBT representation you shouldn't have any issues with having them in the game. Let the people who do care be happy and you can be indifferent all you like; just another survivor to kill (or escape as). If you do, you're part of the problem.
(This final statement was not directed at you, Pulsar but people in general, just in case you thought I was coming at you.)
I absolutely get what you are saying.
I just want GOOD representation, and I am cautious about being optimistic.
side note: nothing against Elodie's voice actor, but I really hate how she sounds. She is so loud, hurts my ears :(

Explain why they aren't bottom tier?

I love how @Orion put this: pandering is only an issue when it's to LGBT+ people. Pandering it horror fans by adding in liscened icons? Fine. Pandering to Silent Hill fans in particular with that entire chapter (which tbh was very good)? Fine. Pandering to the Poc community by giving them Zarina, Claudette, Elodie, etc? Fine.
Panding to the LGBT+ community by giving them some representation? Bad, bad, bhvr bad, never again, world is ending.
Also, "I'm not anti-lgbt" and then "Normal person/gay person" contradict each other. What's wrong with being gay, buddy?
Pretty sure it was just bad wording on the OP's part.
However, I believe OP is referring to a situation that could arise. An LGBT character instead of a character who is LGBT. One is a character who solely exists to appease part of the community, the other is a character that exists in the same manner that all the other characters do, they just happen to be LGBT.
I'm not sure how likely the former option is, but I could see it happening.

That's fair it's not even that they are unbeatable. They are just annoying. The most fun thing is the fact they are not immune to locker flashlight saves.
Hopefully we can see all these bugs be fixed.
The only things they are good at are no fun for either side.
It isn't fun to slug as Killer and it isn't fun to be slugged as Survivor. Nor is it fun to camp or be camped.
The Twins have very low chase potential and extremely low map pressure. That, coupled with their power's ability to naturally camp, coerces a lot of players into playing that way.

Victor can pounce in lockers, can camp effectively, has a generous huntress like hitbox, recovers 5 seconds after a crush, and is overall a mix of 4 killers (deathslinger,huntress,hag,t1 myers). That makes them so boring. Also I main killer so cut the survivor main nonsense.
I would agree, but I do not think that makes them good.
I think they suffer from the same thing Old Legion did, he wasn't good, but he was so broken that there wasn't much you could do about him.
Their power can only be truly estimated when most of their bugs are fixed.

Or is the lower frame rate just making it appear like they are further than they are when they swing.
Likely lower FPS.
You are seeing less data on Console, generally around 30 FPS on Survivor. This can cause hits to look very choppy because you are essentially getting half of the visual feedbadk you should.

What was actually said was that that particular idea would not be a good one. As for why the devs "never just freaking do what suggestions the community makes that are relatively agreed upon", it's because:
- We're not their boss. They are not our employees. We are consumers and they are providing a product. If you want to boss them around, you need to actually be their boss.
- "Relatively agreed upon" is a matter of perspective. The idea you mentioned, for example, is awful, IMO.
- We're not game designers. Ideas can look good on paper and be disastrous in practice. A game designer has a better understanding of game design than we do.
- Suggestions are just that, suggestions. They don't have to do what we suggest any more than anyone else does. You remind me of a woman who suggested they moved more employees to a certain section of the supermarket and then started yelling because they hadn't immediately done what she'd "suggested" (read: demanded). This is not how things work and you know that.
- "Just freaking test it" is disingenuous. It completely overlooks the time it takes to code things and the fact that the devs test things internally that never make it to the PTB and are never heard of. You literally can't know what they did or didn't test because you are not part of the developer team.
I agree on all but your last point.
After this patch and the abysmal state the game is in, they could just start testing things and it honestly wouldn't make much of a difference XD
