Unless they are good and do three gens as you get your first down.

Can I get mad at you for trying to have a good time playing DBD on a console
Yes

I was not the obsession. Two other gens were done, two survivors besides me were alive. I’d never been hooked, but had been downed once before and healed. No mori add on (just a hair bow and a dead rabbit).
100% forgot to check for Devour Hope because the unhooks weren’t done while he was anywhere near, but that could be it.
It was very likely Devour Hope.

I don’t know if this is a bug, or if it’s just something I don’t know about because I don’t play Michael Myers. I just had a match against one who instantly killed me even though I’ve never been hooked. I looked at his add-ons and he didn’t have a tombstone or a regular mori add on (had a hair bow and a dead rabbit). Is this something Myers is just normally able to do, or is this a bug or hack?
When did you go down?
Were you last alive?
Were all the gens done?

I didn't saw wraith as weak before his latest buff. He used to be weak in his early days. But before this buff he always was a decent killer. This buff made him more annoying more than anything, and yes cheaper hits. But I don't think nurse is as hated as spirt, nurse has more counter play than spirit. They overdid it with wraith in my opinion. But other weak killers that people think, such as pig, and clown. All these killers are not as weak as people claim. The only weak killers are trickster, and legion, and trapper to an extent.
Well, he definitely was weak before his buff.
Pig and Clown are pretty bad too, but Pig is the worse of the two.

True, but that's the exception not the rule.

I would like a perk that incentives hooking unique Survivors, ie, a perk that rewards you for not tunneling

I hear that Legion was hated to oblivion when he came out, what was the story there?
there's no story, old legion was a great addition to the game, but many players complained as usual, they complain about everything. old legion was more complained about because they were teenagers with masks and rubber knife, now look at trickster, and he's nowhere near as complained, because they had a grudge for old legion out of spite.
No, he really wasn't

Been like that since the game came to console. With a game so reliant on knowing where people are going having less than 60 fps is a huge hindrance. And with the release of PS5 and leaks of Ray Tracing being added to the game, it's essentially BHVR going.
"Get a PC or PS5/Xbox series X"
We joke about BHVR not having a QA team, but even if they did I swear they don't have a console to test anything on. The worst example of that was back when a patch got released and console FPS was down to 12 fps, I don't think the switch was out yet but if it was I bet it was even lower than its usual 15fps.
I hope they get some good progress done on optimization for the RE chapter, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.
The last three Killers have also been extremely hindered on release for Consoles.
Blight just got fixed after 6+ months. Twins are still laggy and Trickster's recoil can't be properly controlled.
It really feels like they design Killers without considering us.

Well, the game being the exact same game for years does contribute to it not being as enjoyable as it was before, so I thought I would add this to the discussion.
Because out of anything that has been highly requested from survivors and killers it's another game mode.
This discussion is, mostly, talking about the Optimization issues that DBD has faced and how the Console community feels like BHVR doesn't take the issues as seriously as they should.
That's why I've uploaded clips of some of the examples I've had in my own games, and others have done the same.

No clue, really. I've probably (can't check total playtime on PS4, as far as I know) for a combined amount of 2500+ hours in the game, been playing since 2017. So I guess I'd consider myself a veteran? It's just a matter of opinion I guess.
I think anyone that played during the Dark Times is allowed to have a veteran's discount lol.
I first played consistently justtttt before Clown came out, late spring of 2018.

@Zagrid said:
Honestly, even though the community memes on BHVR for bugs and DbD definitely has way more bugs than what should be allowed. It is overall a fairly functional game.
I think the major issue long term players are having is the game is 5 years old, and its the exact same game that is was 5 years ago
1 killer, 4 survivors, 5 gens, 2 exit gates.
Nothing to spice the game up, other than new maps, killers, and perks. And the only reason it has gotten away with this for as many years as it has is that it's the only game like it. If any other game was able to have the same appeal as DbD, but added new game modes or alternate ways of playing, DbD would be struggling.
If they want to keep up the player base they have 2 options, More licenses, or game modes.
Unfortunately, it looks like they are going the former route.
Well, this isn't really about that, but thank you for contributing!

No, being healed doesn't disable DS.
If you seld-heal, it will disable it. If someone else heals you, it'll be there.

The best thing you can do as a survivor is learn how to loop. Learn what's a safe loop, what's an unsafe one. How to chain them together, when you can abandon and save a loop after a killer swings to early/uses a power wrong.
As for the specific killers you mentioned...
Nurse is generally seen as overpowered, but she's so buggy and hard to learn you barely ever see her.
Spirit is also an incredibly hated killer, as her whole power is framed in guesswork on the survivors side.
Plague, however, is seen as mid-tier by a lot of people. Her power can be incredibly hit or miss, and if you get good enough you don't really have to worry about being injured.
Iron Will from Jake is a great perk to start with, as is basically all of Dwight's and Meg's perks. You're just barely starting the game, so it's okay to have a hard time learning.
@miketheratguy has 500 hours, and in alot of other games that would be considered a lot of time. In this game, it's still considered pretty intermediate. There is a lot of time involved with learning this game.
I will also warm you that while you don't have to spend money on the game, the grind is... Stupid in this game. It will take a very long time to unlock all the characters and perks you want. Even longer for licensed perks, and you cannot get licensed killers without paying.
I do wonder what is considered "veteran" or "proficient" amount of hours in DBD

You're rank 1 both sides right? You're not just playing against the other players, gotta battle fps drops on top of that to keep your rank. Gotta go hard when lack of optimization is adding extra challenge. 😂
That's a nice way of looking at things.
I doubt my opponents will see it that way lmao

I think you just agreed with me? If you are good and get that 4K great,,, and if you are good and your team gets the gens and out the gate because you are good even better. Its about the game play. Camping and tunneling are so lazy and more often so the result of bad decisions and a bad player who knows it but will never admit it.
I don't agree.
It doesn't matter how you get it (so long as you aren't cheating). If you get it, you get it.

But you cant have it both ways. You cant complain about the game mechanics for survivors and ignore the mechanics that killers use like tunneling and camping. The game doesn't tell you or dictate how you play, you do. It is your own bad game play that is to blame if you have to resort to tunneling or camping. And if you do it from the get up like so many Bubba's do than you aren't that good at the game and don't want to admit it.
Also, if this is true, why do I lose about 90 percent of games every single night if survivor play is so great? Not everything is the mythical SWF sweat team. I am a red rank survivor and choose my lobbies well or play with friends and we are pretty good however, Wraiths who cloak right next to the gen then tunnel and camp are there, Bubbas who flat out tunnel and camp are there, and I am not even talking about the Spirit or Nurses who are so OP it is crazy are there to win all the time.
Who says?
If you get the 4K you deserve it and are good enough to get it.
If you get the 4E you deserve it and are good enough to get it.
That's how I see it.

I don't see the situations that really call for tunneling and camping? You would prob say "well if nearing the EGC you only have one kill than you have to camp",,, um no, I will tell you what other killers mains have told me for a while now when I play bad/make bad decisions about something and that is "git guud". If the killer was a better player and pressured the gens/survivors better he would not have to camp or tunnel now would he? And not everything is a SWF moment either. I am sincerely asking why this ideology doesn't work both ways?
Every player makes decisions while playing and sometimes those do not pan out. I just don't see the need to fall back onto lazy game play such as camping when you could have played better beforehand. I have seen it work both ways many times with regard to other survivors trying to rescue that one on the hook however, most of the time they just leave so the killer gets 1k.
Finally, what is up with Bubba's,,, why does every single one without fail camp and tunnel? This is not an exaggeration or over-simplification, they ALL do it, why?
I feel like that's a massive generalization.
Not only that, but you cannot play a 12-hook game when Survivors are as equally skilled as you are and you are good. Good Survivors can always destroy a good Killer, it's just mathematics at that point.

Thank you Sluzzy, very cool.
