I like people who say this because if it was entirely survivor sided you would feel it substantially more, and yet they complain that it's survivor sided when it's perheps fairer to both sides than ever. I keep posting it but @Mercês explained why hits look dodgy, please read this post

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/269241/explaining-why-stun-validation-looks-weird-but-makes-sense-on-a-technical-level

It's a buff Survivors didn't really need, imo.

It does very little for low-ranked Survivors but it does a lot for high-ranked players and I think that's an issue.

  • I have no idea.

These issues have been going on for years now and I've no idea when we will get a fix.

I've asked Mandy if they can give us a vague time estimate, but I don't think they are able to.

I'd say hopefully within 6 months, but that's coming from me, someone who has nothing to do with BHVR.

  • Legion.

Please, I beg you, make his Frenzy faster. He'll still be garbage but it'll help.

Yeah, let's chill for another 3 years, then say it again !

    We aren't chilling.

We've outlined our points, respectfully pushed and we have made progress.

Fixes don't come instantly, no matter how much we want them to.

@Pulsar I will say terminator brings up a point about slender being pretty hyped. The king and paulie esther's april fools videos probably only increased the hype. I'm not even going off my own poll I'm just going off what I've seen from the community

Again, I think Slenderman would be an okay addition for us. I think the community would like him.

But does BHVR really want to poke that potential hornets nest? They could have a headline like the movie did "7 years after tragic stabbing, horror game brings back Slenderman."

  • @TerminatorGuy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2461962#Comment_2461962

Oh please, that's definitely not what the general public thinks when they hear Slenderman's name. Most never even heard of the stabbing. The public would be more inclined to remember him from a meme or gameplay from their fav youtubers.

    Go ask someome then.

If I ask my mother, or perhaps my friends parents, they'll think of the stabbing.

But ultimately, I'm not interested in continuing the conversation with you.

  • @TerminatorGuy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2461941#Comment_2461941

Nope, I don't see it. It's just a bit ridiculous that he's used as a punishable scapegoat for it though.

Let me put this as simply as I can.

When the general public hears the word "Slenderman." What do they think of?

"Oh, wasn't he why those girls stabbed each the other?"

It doesn't matter if it's true or not, that's what most people know him from.

With NoES and Scream, they were both big enough franchises that they were well-known prior to their respective tragedies. Slenderman wasn't. That was the first time most people had heard of him.

How can me or you or anyone playing on consoles can stay calm ? I feel like I'm being robbed ... Well all I know I'm tired ..

I even bought Stranger Things chapter thinking I would be able to play but instead I have to hear this ... Stay calm and all that ...

I AM UNABLE TO PLAY, I HAVE WASTED MONEY ON SOMETHING BROKEN ITS UNBELIEVABLE

    And I'm not demanding anything ... I'm literally begging a fix ...

Because I am not completely driven by emotion.

The fact of the matter is, they've likely only just started to work on a fix.

You can rage and be angry all you want, but the fix won't get here any sooner and you'll look like a fool. Ergo, staying calm and maintaining an air of dignity and respect towards the people who make this game and are working on a fix is the optimal route.

  • @Lisseck said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2461933#Comment_2461933

Everyone already show a strong argument for them to fix we are clowns waiting more than we should, 1 month ok, 2 ? Ok ... But soon enough it will be a year of the game unplayable in consoles ... In this case I can't call the cops or anything else ... Only beg to them to fix and I'm personally tired of beginning for something I shouldn't even have to ask ...

Again I think we should be more rough on behavior

You won't get anywhere by demanding things. You need to be respectful.

And before you accuse me of defending them like you did to @OniWantsYourMacaroni, I made the thread.

Also, 60 FPS was promised in March of 2019.

  • @TerminatorGuy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2461915#Comment_2461915

And the Freddy incident happened just 10 years before the Slenderman one(where no one was actually killed contrary to the former). That's not a very big time gap in the long scheme of things considering the NOES remake was made just 6 years after.

Because Jeepers Creepers was created by a real life person who did unspeakable things in real life. Don't see how you can equate that to a fictional character who did nothing. Slenderman doesn't say go out irl and stab your friend.

If you can't see how it might be perceived as capitalizing on a tragedy, then I have nothing else to say and it's obvious i won't convince you.

The thing is ... You come to my store and I will sell you a fine wrist watch, you gonna pay me 100 bucks, you gonna leave my store knowing what time is ... But when u arrive home the watch doesn't tell you the hours no more ... You come back to my store asking a refund or ask me to fix your watch and I'm gonna tell you to come back later ... I will use your 100 bucks and to improve my store ... And after 3/5 months the watch is still broke ... You gonna stay calm ? Dude they have the hear a few insults, they are grow man like you and me ... They have responsabilities ... Instead of introduce new content fix the damn game first , business man only think about money they don't care about you and me ... Stop defend them ... Yes I waste money on this ######### and can't properly play ... Now back to the watch thing wouldn't you call the cops or do something about ? Because where I live things don't go like that ... A company selling broken games like CDPR, and we gamers who payed for the damn thing have to beyond pay, fight for this guy's to fix the game they sold unfinished or non optimized

Think beyond the box this guy have ALL rights to insult behavior, it's been how many months ? It's terrible that ppl like you probably doesn't even play on console ...

It isn't a reason to insult people nor attack them.

You need to stay calm in order to present a clear and concise argument which clearly outlines your points of contention.

  • @TerminatorGuy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2461880#Comment_2461880

Same thing can be said about the Freddy and Ghostface incidents. Just because a minority fails to grasp the fact that a fictional character realistically has nothing to do with it, doesn't mean the entire character/fanbase should be punished for it. It's backwards

Because they happened a long time ago.

This one happened less than 10 years ago. Idk if the kid is even an adult yet.

There suffering shouldn't be discounted. Why aren't they doing Jeepers Creepers then, even though they have no affiliation with the creator?

Because some things are just in bad taste.

  • @TerminatorGuy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2461824#Comment_2461824

The fictional character caused nothing. They used him as a scapegoat. By that logic, Freddy Krueger and Ghostface also caused murders and thus should not be in the game. Look up Daniel Gonzales the "Freddy Krueger" killer.

Doesn't matter whether or not it actually caused it. People think it did.

It will be seen as extremely bad taste and it's why the IP hasn't really been touched since the disaster of a movie.

  • This isn't a Survivor vs Killer debate.

There are only people who try to ruin other people's experiences and people who play the game normally.

That's it, no wiggle room, end of discussion.

Oh, that's nice. So how did that work out?

Hopefully rt doesn't meet the same fate but you never know.

    It didn't.

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2460142#Comment_2460142

Prices are inflated right now for obvious reasons.

No, there's nothing wrong with that price. People are to blame for demanding products in limited quantities as well as there being shortages.

Also, there are people that are re selling at a higher price than normal so you need to be careful on who you buy from.

Sellers on Amazon are even taking advantage and even places like Walmart.

But all of that is besides the point, stop getting into side topics. This is about rt on the ps5, which is a plan that the devs have already expressed to be pursuing.

I personally can't wait for it and hope that it comes soon but I'm just being hopeful. I'm sure they have their hands full already, unfortunately.

They also said they were putting 60 FPS on Xbox One and PS4.

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2460086#Comment_2460086

It is the fault of many things, one of them being having to keep the game working on outdated devices. I'm sure a cheap pc will have problems as well. No doubt about that.

    That's almost 2000 USD.

    That's literally an expensive PC.

If you can't see something wrong with that then idk what to tell you.

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2459968#Comment_2459968

Exactly, minecraft already has that option in there, you just can't use it. It is annoying. Thankfully my brother has a pc so I have at it over there.

I believe that part of the reason why the new tech is slowly being implemented is not just because of the pandemic but also because developers have to take resources to focus on last gen. I have always disliked this but I understand why it's done. Not everyone has the chance to upgrade, especially in these times

It is unfortunate and wasteful. I'm sure that if times were normal then they'd be more focused with the latest stuff and not be as cumbered by the problems of last gen.

This is literally the fault of poor optimization.

Even back in 2017 when the game was first ported, it ran at like 20 FPS. It's always run poorly and it's getting worse for EVERYONE.

Sorry to at you, but @GoodBoyKaru is one person whose PC was having some issues when RE came out. They can attest that it is not simply a "last-gen problem."

  • I just think the flag has pretty colors and it supports people so I like it, despite the fact that I'm not in the community myself.

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2459937#Comment_2459937

Again, I have no issues if they decide to deal with the mess of getting the game to run well on last gen. As I've said, I still think that it is a waste, this will be a continuous effort not just a one and done update where they can leave and move on. We've already seen this to be the case when a later update messed with their fix.

Yes I am also aware of such shortage, hence me hoping for the consoles to be made more available for people.

Also, rt will be too much to handle for last gen. No amount of optimization is going to get it working there. But I guess if last gen is still a thing by the time rt is out for this game then they could settle by making rt an option in the settings.

They've had no issues excluding Consoles from having graphical options in the past.

    What's one more?

  • Your conclusions are correct but your reasoning is wrong.

The average Killer match is very stressful, much more so than Survivor, that's simply the nature of the game.

Most recent updates have included some form of nerfs to Survivors.

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2459734#Comment_2459734

There are plenty or reasons why the game could be struggling with last gen. The game is obviously not what it once was 5 years ago.

Besides more content, the graphics were improved and with the planned implementation of ray tracing it'll get even better. This is something that last gen can't even dream of supporting.

You and anyone else can settle for last gen, I'm fine with that. If they can get the game stable for you then that's wonderful.

However I still think that it is wasteful to focus on consoles that will continue to have less of a user base as more time passes by and current consoles become more available.

You realize the current chip shortage isn't going to end until 2023, right? That's two years from now.

There are no reasons besides the fact that it is poorly optimized.

Are you going to say that Battlefront II and Red Dead Redemption 2 are less intense and therefore run better than DBD? This game doesn't look anywhere CLOSE to those two games, yet it runs at 20+ FPS less and it freezes and crashes frequently.

  • @Itslat3ncy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2459729#Comment_2459729

I would love to see prove of these issues. Personally I havent seen anything wrong. No lag, game freezing. Nemisis's tentacle didnt even freeze. Just the classic dbd bugs is all I've seen

    I don't own a PS5, like most people.

    Ask someone who does.

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

Unfortunately they've decided to stick around with the outdated last gen consoles/ hardware, so that'll take up some time as they waste resources on trying to get the game working on that mess.

Hopefully that changes once more people get the chance to upgrade.

Damn, forgot people shouldn't be able to play a 5 year old game on the SAME CONSOLE'S THAT WERE OUT AT THAT TIME.

There is no reason why DBD can't hit a stable 30 FPS on current-gen Consoles. It's been explained and BHVR has repeatedly said that simply telling people to buy a new system is not an acceptable answer.

  • @Itslat3ncy said:

Game is fine on next gen literally no issues besides the bugs that are on every platform. Never had the game lag or freeze once, even against killers like doc.

There are multiple reported issues. One need only look to the RE patch to see them, even on next-gen.

  • @chef423 said:

    No it doesn't.

  • @chef423 said:

The article specifically says PS5. So I could care less about the PC version, even though I have a 3070Ti.

PS5 upgraded version runs like butter and its gorgeous...

There will not be raytracing until the game is better optimized.

I'm certain it's acceptable. I've discussed it before.

So long as I'm not attacking anyone, I should be fine.

  • @Rey_512 said:

I don’t think it’s a case of “not caring” for console, seeing as how they added Cross-Play (great move by BHVR).

Maybe it’s their priorities that aren’t in order. Remember, BHVR isn’t a massive company with unlimited resources and staff. I’m assuming the majority of their staff is dedicated to the Cash Cow side: new content - this includes killers, survivors, and most importantly cosmetics - and game development - testing and developing new powers, tweaking addons, etc.

Fixing optimization on last gen is probably being handled by 1 person, maybe a couple more if any? Maybe a mod will come in here and give us specifics other than “we’re working on it”.

    Screenshot_20210827-173742_Samsung Internet.jpg

Would you say it's fair to say half of BHVR's work (in some capacity) on DBD considering it is their main game (other than Mobile DBD)?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2457698#Comment_2457698

And? This is not really a good argument.

You can say that about every strong Perk in the game. On both sides. With that argument, every Perk can be made "OP".

    That's kinda the point.

Dead Hard is exceedingly strong. That wouldn't be an issue if things around it were balanced, but they aren't.

I'm starting to care less about perk balance and more about overall game balance.

  • @thefallenloser said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2457698#Comment_2457698

I know I usually don't like using examples that aren't interwoven into my original argument, but I'm genuinely curious:

Why is Lucky Break's ability to boost bad survivors a problem, but with good players it's fine-- and why is Dead Hard's ability to boost good player's ability and do nothing for bad players fine? What's the difference?

In fact, could this same argument not be used for basically any perk?

Lucky Break isn't the issue, it's combining it with IW (which is bugged btw) that is a problem. Even still, it can help bad Survivors, but if you suck at looping, it isn't going to help. You do actually have to LOSE the Killer before you get value.

Dead Hard doesn't do "nothing" for bad players. It can absolutely save their ass. However, it does significantly less for them than it does for good players. It may turn a 20 second chase into a 45 second one for a bad player, but for a good one it can take a 45 second chase and add another 30 to it, ie, 2 gens at least.

The issue isn't necessarily Dead Hard, it's more so that this game isn't balanced for good players.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I would not say it is overrated. It is the second-strongest Exhaustion Perk, only behind Sprint Burst. I would not call this overrated.

However, I agree on overhated - Killer Players act like they lose games because of Dead Hard, but I am pretty sure they lose the games because of general worse performance than the Survivors, but blame Dead Hard for it. Let alone that most DHs I encounter are HORRIBLE. Like, people trying to DH without any Pallet nearby or anything, just to use it. This brings them like 1 second of Extra Chase (which would be the case in general, if the Distance-Part would be removed, because even if the Iframes would actually be working, you would not be able to do anything with Dead Hard...)

The issue is not that Dead Hard allows bad players to play better, it's that it boosts good players ability to perform well.

A Claudette who Dead Hard's for an extra second of chase is no biggie, but she probably went down fast anyway.

The Feng who just ran shack for three window vaults and finally got mindgame'd but makes it to god pallet by using Dead Hard and subsequently continues the chase IS a problem.

If you are camping and tunneling because you think everyone is going to “harass” you at post match chat.

To me, that’s just as immature as the people making those comments.

Not everyone is like that, but this is DBD so you know it’s bound to happen at one point or another.

Not saying this excuses their actions, but I think it’s important to understand that you can only control you and your own actions, not theirs and certainly not what kind of player is playing against you.

I only really considered it because I thought someone made a good point and because people playing this game have fried my router TWICE.

At this point, I just want to save money.

(Funny too, during the MMR test I actually was having Survivors getting more BP than me, even though I was getting 4Ks, all because I was playing "fair" and they actually were able to max out their other categories... Also why don't you block them so they can't send you messages if it annoys you?

Seems to me that you enjoy this a bit and also enjoy complaining about it.

No, I had others throughout the day. I didn't want to post something without being able to provide evidence to back up my claims and this was the one I screenshotted. Plus, he was the only one to use multiple accounts to message me.

I did block them. They made multiple accounts to message me on Xbox.

If I were in a better mood, I'd think it was hysterical how rent-free I live in their heads, but I'm not.

If I could make an analogy it's like baking someone a cake. You didn't have to, nobody asked you to, but you'd like to be nice. They tell you that the cake is ######### and isn't good enough, then they berate you for an hour.

If I was streaming a game for my viewers, a bad mood chat isn't entertaining for anyone and just motivates dumbasses to keep saying TTVs are toxic asses, I don't think spending time on a chat with those people or dedicate them a full forum post would be even satisfying for myself knowing that a question like the title won't be replied with an actual propper answer because there's none.

Just don't give attention to kiddos like that because then they will keep on the same attitude, press Y and play the next one for your stream.

BUT don't be a hypocrite when survivors teabag, clicky clicky clicky, use keys, use "meta" perks, etc. Either everything in game is fair use... or you're being hypocritical. I all too often see "mains" complain about one strategy/action from the other side while asking for others to justify their actions... survivor mains will complain about tunneling for example - it's a valid strat... killer mains complain about survivors holding w - it's a valid strat. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it shouldn't be done/used etc. I'm not saying YOU do.. just get tired of these "validate me" posts and then seeing the person complaining about the way others play.

I'll still call it out when I see it and say if I think it's BS, but my normal philosophy is "give no quarter and expect none in return." If I tunnel, I am fine with you running full-meta and being super efficient on gens.
