That was your mistake. You don't win by playing nice, at least if you play against SWF. SWF play the game to make killers feel miserable, that's their sole purpose of playing the game. So why would you play nice against a sweatsquad who is here to bully you?
This dude was in a Duo actually.
He played chill during the match, no clicking, t-bagging or any other indicators.
-
It isn't their responsibility to play in a way that other people approve of.
Expecting people to cave to your expectations is entitled.
-
I got told I was a soulless for not respecting it the other day.
And for not farming.
-
Old Freddy wasn't good.
He was annoying, sure. Oppressive? You bet. But good? No.
Even Forever Freddy wasn't top 3.
That doesn't mean that people couldn't find success with him, but he was objectively weaker than most of the cast.
-
I just run Ruin, PGTW, Tinkerer and Bamboozle.
Makes his strengths harder to deal with and helps get rid of weaknesses.

Are you on Xbox? I cant tell how it works there, but on Playstation the clip would be lost.
On the clip i noticed its just recorded from the screen tho.
Still weird why he didnt included the part where it crashed..
Yeah, I am on Xbox.
Once the game starts making the chainsaw noise I record a clip.

If he crashed, then how did he got the clip?
The clip is lost if the game crashes unless you are next gen..
No it isn't.
It just cuts off. I've recorded clips from crashes on multiple occasions.

I’m sorry you had to experience that, but it’s not Claudette’s fault :c
Perhaps.
Still the character they used and most Claudette's are toxic. Ergo, they must be sacrificed.
-
Literally the people in my first ever Killer match gave me such an awful experience that I
A. Didn't play the game again for 6 months.
And
B. I still despise all Claudette's because of them.

OP initially said he disconnected on purpose. The DC penalty worked as designed and was warranted.
The video isn't actually long enough to tell what happened before and after and isn't that good quality so it is hard to tell what happened. It looks like the OP didn't vault early enough and the hit was fair. Especially since the OP vaults into a tonic cloud which would have slowed her down.
No, they definitely crashed.
Anyone who has crashed on Console can see that.
I support the DC penalty for people who, ya know, DC. Not for people who crash.

In the video I did. But I also dc because of this aside from it just being unfun. Crashes can lead to corrupted data, so I either leave or close the game entirely if the game gets too bad. And like you saw in the clown video, it hit me all at once.
You shouldn't DC.
But I agree that if you crash you shouldn't be penalized

Devs are very much at fault for optimization issues, but you are at fault for disconnecting and screwing over your teammates.
I thought he crashed and got a DC penalty.
That's whats been happening to me.

I actually had a weird match in my most recent stream (where I had a dude shittalking me the whole time) on RPD where the graphics were lowered.

They have released performance updates in the past. It's not likey they have ignored everyone and done nothing. Performance has gotten pretty bad since the RE chapter and they have acknowledged it and I'm sure they are trying to fix it.
Those updates haven't done anything.

I didn't stick around to see.
And I play plenty of killer - enough to be rank 1 every month, but I'm a survivor main. The reason I complain about killers so much is because they have the ability to dictate your ability to have fun. Losing fast as a killer sucks, but some of that can be attributed to the killer's ability. Chasing in bad places, chasing too long, perhaps bad perks. But the survivors can't just take away the killer's ability to PLAY and TRY to have fun. There is no equivalent.
Judith's is fine.
Survivors hold the power in this game.

That's my fear as well, and why I don't subscribe to the idea that rallying people behind a "lower graphics" option is particularly beneficial or in the right ball park whatsoever.
Either way, I think it will help and at the very least, it's exposing our issues to more people.

I understand to a degree. I tried not to be too much of a dick, but I literally just got tombstoned and had to vent. But it's frustrating that they really don't seem to care. I keep playing this game but it's frequently un-fun by design. That's the part that drives me crazy. They can do something about it but refuse. They have literally said they're ok with all this toxicity.
Tombstone Piece or Judith's Tombstone?
It sounds like you need to play Killer, most of your posts are coming from a fairly biased standpoint, not that your points are far off.
-
Making this an us vs them argument undermines your point.

I'm not too hopeful about that considering the sorry state optimization is in right now.
Like after all these years,it didn't get better, but worse
I would be immensely surprised if lowering the graphics hurt the FPS and other Optimization issues.
However, what I fear is that if we do get that, we will not get any other Optimization.

Oooooh. I didn't know consoles were locked on HD graphics. That's horrible. And the petition makes more sense to me now, too.
I believe that the base PS4 and Xbox One run DBD on High with HDD storage.
There is no option to change those settings (though it would only be masking the issue, not fixing it) and buying an SSD isn't a full-proof fix, nor is it financially viable for many people.

I don't really want this, just trying out new possiblities. You know trying to create something with the community. For example, making a new survivor and killer with the community just for fun. I'm just sick of people complaining about how the game is bad, Decisive strike, camping and tunneling.
Respectfully then, this will not make the gameplay any more enjoyable.

I feel that it may be a band-aid fix in the best scenario that may minimize SOME of the issues (look, at this point any improvement is welcomed) and the bigger optimization issues tackled down the line. Worst case scenario this becomes our only help in the foreseeable future. This is all conjecture and predicated on BHVR taking up the petition xP.
I think it will help in the immediate future and so long as they continue to work on Optimization, it should be fine.

The streamer Otzdarva made a petition to allow consoles the ability to lower their graphic settings, so I'll post a link if you want to sign it.
I've also made a post of the DBD Reddit, so hopefully that draws some more attention to the petition.

@Stinde said:
I suggest everyone goes to sign this petition made by Otz:
If this doesn't help, I'm afraid nothing will.
I think it's a good start but lowering the graphics will only mask the issue.
if they still intend to fix it, but are lowering graphics to buy more time, that's fine.
However, if they do lower the graphics but stop work on Optimization, that will only be hiding the issue for a short while.

Oh so it is those who are running a certain type of hard drive? That makes sense. I thought they were all basically the same type.
Possibly. We know there is some sort of issue regarding HDD drives, but the issue isn't entirely solved by switching to SSD, which is exponentially more efficient.
Some people had their issuss fixed, others (like myself) did not have the issues fixed. I theorize that the HDD issue is a symptom of a larger problem.

Some of our fiesty PS4 cousins experimented around and got noticeably better performance when they connected a SSD and ran the game from there. Pulsar tried the same idea with his Xbox1x (the absolute strongest of the proir gen consoles, I also have one) but sadly it had little effect, most likely due to this console already having a hybrid-SSD inside it.
One of the last patches forced all Switch machines to run this game on low graphics to improve their performance. The rest of all consoles are locked at Ultra, while PCrs can toggle their graphic settings at will.
Most of us firmly believe the lack of a thorough optimization when the game was ported over 2and the bizarre need for the game to load in each and every asset for every killer every match are at the root of our issues. Despite their age and wear our consoles are capable of running DBD just fine if it weren't for the coding.
I'll give you the same advice I always give our PC cousins: borrow a friend's PS4 or whatever and pick a killer. Let's say Doc or Freddy. Load into Lery's. Go to the center room. Let us know how it goes...
I believe Console's are locked at High, not Ultra. There are many particle effects missing compared to PC.
And yes, I did purchase an SSD and it seemed to do very little.

Um you do have to troubleshoot your system. The key here is that the game stopping issues your having are not being experienced by everyone. That is a big hint that it is not the game.
About this thread. It has gone pretty far off topic. I may not think your more recent posts are inline with getting the issues you are experiencing fixed. They are however more informative on the specific issues you're experiencing. This thread has become a mess. Go through and read several of the more recent pages of replies. Many of them have nothing to do with the issues you post about or troubleshooting at all.
If the developer of a game and came along a thread this long, hard to follow and in many cases off topic would you not understand why? It's like the analogy too many cooks in the kitchen.
And yet, you ignored the post where I disproved your argument.
i put RDR2 in a very stressful scenario and it suffered from no issues. Likewise, the mods are apparently using this thread and the videos in it to help illustrate the issues current-gen Cknsoles are facing.

From Xbox One S to Xbox Series S had been a massive improvement for me. Starting with the load times. Typically 5 minutes on Xbox One, around 2 minutes or less on Series S. No lag or freezing on Series S so far. I would imagine the game runs even better on Series X, but every experience will be different, I'm sure.
Yes.
Next-gen system are mostly free of issues.

Ghostface has always been add on reliant but decent
Pig has been nerfed multiple times and has since stayed in lower brackets. She was never really that good anyway
Legion was never good. He went from being cheap to just being bad after his semi rework and has stayed that way since
Trapper has actually got a lot of buffs but has again always been bad
BUFF LEGION.

"We all know no survivor has a chance against a good Nurse, Blight, Huntress or Spirit."
Most Solo Survivor's have no chance. SWF and high-level Solo's can pretty easily beat Huntress and Blight.

Cheese your victory is going for the most ez effortless way to win.
Split hooks is basically not tunneling and distribute the hooks.
Isn't that what you should do though? Shouldn't you be efficient?
Granted, I come from a very different school of thought, so I'm probably missing the point entirely.

Some more modern videos. This Feng didn't have Lithe, she just fast vaulted.
https://youtu.be/G7s6Apqy60ANext up, we have a nice Dead Hard freeze.
https://youtu.be/BDF2HXL0pyYNext, we have the succ tech. I don't really know what this one is.
https://youtu.be/T6Sx6KbWkwoFinally, we have a comparison video. Red Dead Redemption 2 is being showcased in a very very poor scenario. For one, me and my buddy are messing with the angy bridge, which causes the physics engine to flip the ######### out. Two, by flying off into ######### Narnia, I am forcing it to load an enormous portion of the map at once. No freezes, no frame drops and no crashes. Except for me, when I hit the ground, but that's different.
All of these clips were taken with the same Xbox One X within 5 days of each other.

Hey, look, it's the guy who suggests you troubleshoot but whenever questioned, they say that "you have to do it."
He also suggests you buy a PC to fix these issues, instead of giving meaningful advice!

I had a new one tonight: on one of the azarovs the skill check for Overcharge sounded but did not show on-screen three times for me. Somehow by the Entity's good graces I hit one of them.
Otherwise the match had its normal hiccups, like the Demo's shred attack causing a game freeze, Sloppy lagging each and every time it was applied, the usual suspects.
Have you made a bug report?
-
@GrimoireWeiss said:
Just played a game against a Freddy with Sloppy, Franklins and Third Seal. The moment he hit me my game froze for 5+ seconds and when it returned I was already downed. I didn't even have the opportunity to run away. I swear a minority of these PC killers use this kind of build on purpose.

An update on this would be greatly appreciated. We've already gotten over two years of silence about this. I'm full up on silence don't need no more.
Indeed.
That's ons reason why this thread was started, to get an answer about that promised 60 FPS.

Pressing CTRL and clicking a flashlight shouldn’t be labeled as “ruining someone’s experience.”
So, what's the intent behind it?
It's to encourage and send positive vibes to the Killer right?
It's not a taunt designed to humiliate and cause distress to the other side.
