I'll keep these in mind. I've really only been playing with 1 addon at a time since FOR NOW, the plaid flannel is pretty much always on until I get the hang of my blink ranges.
The Nurse starter's kit I always recommend is Plaid Flannel and Wooden Horse. After at least 15-20 games, you can remove the Flannel. I did and it worked perfectly. I know the Flannel is controversial for beginners, but I think the critics come more from players who learned Nurse without it because it was purple rarity. The Horse is meant as a cushion for when you miss. In general, you may want to go for some ambitious swings at the beginning, to get a feeling for the timing and range post blink. However, when you get that down, you want to start being more selective and swing only when you know it will connect.
It's all training wheels in the end. They're there to keep you up when you can't on your own yet, but you don't want to become dependent on them.
-
Range plus recharge or double recharge are her best add-on builds. The former is omega blink 2.0, that I would label as strong and the second is essentially old basekit Nurse (just slightly nerfed), which I'd also call strong. That's about it.
For ok-ish add-ons:
The spoon and the keepsake (aka perks in add-on form) are fine if you'd use the corresponding perk, but you'd also like free the slot.
Catatonic and especially ataxic are kinda nice as well and possibly a tad underrated. They only affect fatigue, so it's true you still have to wait for the blinks to recharge. However, despite obviously helping with tracking, you'd actually be surprised at how helpful they are at minimizing loss of distance.
Finally, the wooden horse is not bad for brown rarity. Despite being labelled as a beginner's add-on, it actually allows you to be quite liberal with your swings.
-
Pyramid Head would get his geometry mashed into bidimensionality.
-
Kate for WoO. No-brainer really. Playing stealthily is viable, but situational. If you want to become a decent survivor, you need to learn maps and practice looping. Avoiding that part of the game is how one stays a noob. So, take advantage of the perk. She's also fairly quiet when injured, if you decide to play as her.
-
You have a knack for story-telling. Nice one!
-
I played only one game of survivor today and, after a 4-man escape, I said gg and told the killer that it was a rough map for them. In return, they called me a prostitute, in not so polite terms. Screenshot available btw.
It's the player, not the role.
Also, welcome to online gaming, where a bunch of immature people get salty for any reason or none at all.
-
They do listen to the community, but they also have their estabilished path for where the game must go and the community is not privy to the grand scheme of things.
I believe the Billy nerf, which leaves me very sad anyway, is part of a general balancing of the game. With reworking maps and other features to be introduced, Billy's power being insta-down mobility on-demand would have probably presented a complicated outlier to be reconciliated in a general game balance, considering that none other killer power works like that.
Let's be real, they invested resources to make the overheat mechanic, it's not getting reversed. I still hope they'll significantly tone down the penalties on it, though.
-
It's mostly an irrelevant buff. The immunity from blinding is significant only for firecrackers. For the rest you're already essentially immune from flashlights, unless it's a double blind. Which, let's be honest, never happens and, if it does, there are two people doing nothing.
For the aura, you already see them, you don't need it.

Then you watch too much youtube yourself by that logic.
Aside from that I'm pretty sure if the guy here played speedlimiter billy he'd get recked even more than a freddy without his snare.
I never said I didn't.

Or you if you know where this is from, because I can't tell.
Do you mean where that build is from? Ussylis posted some videos a while ago. I can't remember the title.
-
Those guys watch too much youtube.
-
In his PTB state, he won't. As a long-time add-on-less Billy, I would have to start running a very rare plus an uncommon to make him at least resemble his former self. Not worth it.
-
Pig, obviously. /jk
On a serious note, Huntress is due for an add-on pass, but I doubt they'll touch her basekit. BHVR is very protective of Huntress, she ain't no Amanda.

Exploits are not "techs".
Agreed. Still, suiciding on hook is not what is referred to as the hatch tech, regardless of misnomers.
-
They made a griefing perk, essentially. Making it so that a basic hit would disable the item for X seconds would be strong and grief proof. Include the aura reading for all items on the floor. Easy balance. But no, here at bhvr we care about fun. Don't even let me start with the Hillbilly butcher... uhm rework.

@Athanar90 said:
Close the hatch. I had a hatch situation earlier. A survivor sacrificed on the hook so the other could escape. I got there just in time and interrupted them by slamming it shut in their face.
Best part is I'd repeatedly spared them earlier in the match, I was going to let them go. But I don't tolerate sacrificing yourself for hatch tech.
That's not the hatch tech.
-
It's griefing. Report them in-game and then send video proof via ticket. If you didn't record the match, then don't bother, because nothing will happen.

dont know whats your problem, thats an accurate guide on how to win games :)
Fair enough.

@Halun said:
All the people saying "If you get there first, you win" seem to be ignoring the fact that they're registering a hit on the person before they technically get in the hatch. So how have they won?
I don't care all that much, because this has never happened to me, but it does seem slightly cheap. Imagine if this happened at the gates? "Oh they got to the gates first, they win. Doesn't matter if you hit an injured survivor while they teabag. They still win". It just seems weird that a registered hit is ignored in a game where the whole objective for the killer is registering hits.
Idk. I can understand OP's confusion/frustration.
That's not the situation the OP described. They clearly said they hit after the jumping animation has already started. If you get there first as killer, you do win. You simply close the hatch.
-
Go get some fresh air.
-
It's the same as pallets or vaults. The hit doesn't cancel the animation. If you want to block them, you have to close the hatch. As killer you benefit from the priority as well. If you hit them as they're jumping in, it means they simply beat you to the hatch and that's why they'll get it. If you close it (with priority in the tie-breaker on top of that), you beat them to it, that's when you'll get it.
Hatch is first come, first served. There's no issue with that mechanic.

It's like all of us who enjoyed the way Billy's chainsaw originally worked can thank all the Crack Billies and Insta Saws running around with Infectious and Bamboozle getting a 4-man slug at 5 gens, or chewing all the pallets in under 2 minutes, for ruining a good thing.
Thanks guys.

I already play as him rarely because of the bugs.

Were does being a streamer equate expectation to participate to tournaments? One is entertainment, the other is competition. They're not mutually implied, or exclusive.

easy anti cheat already does that.
No, it doesn't. It can't hack in your files. It's only authorized to check what you consent to in the EULA.
-
Yes, BHVR should hack into people's PCs. Sounds like a great idea.

The delay might be unintended and caused by latency due to the massive ping in the ptb.

Yes it's confirmed. We have access to a video of bully feathering
Holy moly! That's overkill to say the least.
-
As someone who played Billy only add-on-less, double engravings, or rarely drift king, all I can say is good riddance. The charge add-ons were broken, period. On the other hand, the basekit nerfs... darn, I'm sad.
-
I suppose it's simply worded ambiguously. When you perform certain actions, you drop more orbs. I think what it means is that the bug made it drop twice the amount of set orbs, not that you shouldn't increase orb drop rate in those situations.
-
It's legal, if that what your asking.
If you're asking to seek validation, then you already know in your heart if it was justified or not.
-
David and Trapper.
Died Hard doesn't make up for no mither.
Trapper gets destroyed in the gatekeeper, malicious and chaser emblems. If you play him correctly with only his perks, you get genrushed hard early game, then if you snowball off your traps you don't get enough chases. You are forced to play as an m1 killer with no power.
Plague has at least good perks that help her. If early game she goes for a little infection plus a hit, instead of puking until broken, she also improves her chaser.
-
The only real difference is the firecracker immunity and double blinds during a pick up with lightborn timing, which basically never ever happen and, even if they did, it means there are two people following you around instead of doing gens, i.e. gifted win. For the rest, current lightborn makes you unblindable for all means and purposes. If they try to blind you, you can actually see them, you don't aura.
I'd call the buff ironically insignificant, despite being overkill at the same time. Still not worth the perk slot.

Hold on... So When you start reving up to 99% and then decide to cancel it (because idk survivors hits a window or lockers) and you wait till the charge bar is going back to 0%.. You Literally have built up 55% overheat already? And that's with addons right?
Freaaaaaking hell it's even worse than I assumed first.. if that's the case Billy is a dead horse for me.
30% is to rev to 99 the saw, but are you adding the extra 25% heat to 55% for the time it resets to 0 rev progress? Does it still heat up once you let go of m2? Is this confirmed?
-
It's bannable.

He’s actually like 99% or something like that with scratch mirror Myers and can’t actually catch up so on top of headphones negating him literally running forward negates it too.
He's 105% and sounds are broken for everyone, so he can't heard him over a generator that has some progress.

To track bloodpoints more easily and detect hackers.

Griefing for the unhook cancelling. The slur is hate speech in the report screen, if I recall correctly. Anyway, report them and send the video via ticket. Don't post footage with names here.

I'd honestly balance the game so that games are more oriented towards a 3/1 ratio, so that you can feel killers have the POWERFUL role in the match and that survivors need to work HARD in order to get out, and even if they don't, they would often black pip or pip decently even if they die, if they did a reasonable amount of work in that game...
I'd feel it would be more enjoyable on both sides as it is at the moment!
You'd balance the game so that pressing a button labelled as "killer" in the main menu means you'll win on average? That's not what balance means.

well see every red rank killer also quit cuz of how bs swf groups are in red ranks so now the devs are moving those groups to u as no one in red rank plays killer (or at least not as much as survivor since killer is just frustrating)
You made up this story. If you think there are no red rank killers, then you don't play in the red ranks yourself. That's the only explanation.
-
As an Oni main, he's not. Don't greed pallets early game. Whenever you hear him activate blood fury, scatter and hide until his power runs out. Go into lockers if necessary, to avoid infectious.
I understand why he can give issues to soloq. But a team of knowledgeable players should be able to beat him consistently.
-
I could care less about FNaF. Gimme Alien all day any day over that stuff.

@Endstille said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/168362/reminder-billy-has-a-75-kill-rate-at-red-ranks
You should know about these stats that red ranks does not mean red ranked killer vs red ranked survivors.
It means red ranked killer vs survivors of all ranks. This has been confirmed by bhvr. So nobody knows how it exactly looks like at red ranks. Given the fact that many boosted survivors are there because the game is too easy to play as survivor, killers probably have a high killrate as 70-75%.
Your statements don't compute. If the game was so easy to play as survivor, then the kill rate wouldn't be 70-75%. DUCY?

Well.. it will just hurt crack billy'S
that was the point of playing crack billy charging your chainsaw till you get the right timing.
the "overheating" mechanic is realistic but it will hurt skilled billys imo.
the only thing what needed a change on billy was Insta-Saw what was broken imo. + the corner hits he gets with the aim-assist + latency
Crack Billies are not the skilled Billies. You might been thinking of double engravings. Crack Billy is fairly easy.

Im not necessarily upset with the changes, i want to see how it actually performs.
What i do find odd though is the devs saying theyre "pretty happy" with where his base kit is, but decided to change it amyway.
They said they were happy "for the most part", which implies not completely happy with him.
-
They have cooldowns on vaulting repeatedly the same window. They have cooldowns on perks. They don't have cooldowns on dropping pallets, because they're a finite resource. So, the limitation is implicit.
For the rest, they don't have a specific power that can be cooled down, unless you count fast vaulting as their power, which I have already addressed.
