I also really want them to get rid of swf on comms because they’re cheating and ruining the game for both solo q survivors and killers. The question is can they do something about it and what? Because they’re using third party apps to communicate so what can BHVR do about this? I hope they can do something about it but I honestly can’t think of anything.
Comms are openly allowed. 100% not cheating.

If you want to play with other people, you can join DBD's OFFICIAL Discord server. There are special sections to create or join a swf. I reiterate, it's on the official server.

Most likely will get nerfed after devs have implemented early game stall.
This seems likely. Maybe they'll add a cooldown similar to Surge.
-
I might fall to it, but I never fall for it.
-
I wouldn't mind it, ngl.
-
It doesn't remove anything. This is factually false and easily tested in a custom lobby. I suggest you stop listening to whiny content creators and do check it for yourself.
Stretched doesn't raise the camera, which is the deciding factor and is unaffected by res. If the survivor is hugging the loop, if they can see the killer on stretched, then they can as well on native and vice versa.
On the other hand, stretched does favor killers' pov when breaking pallets, vaulting, against 360s, during Nurse/Legion fatigue, etc. It can even give built-in lightborne for some obscure reasons.
-
Of course, everything I'm about to say is subject to how attentive the survivors are and how much distance they have on you.
If they're looping around the crane itself to use the vault, you want to chase them counter-clockwise, show your red light at the ramp and double back to meet them when they land. Depending on timing, you might get the hit or force the pallet. If you're close enough that you think you can get them before or during the vault, you want to give a quick glance to your left inside the crane cabin to check if they hid in the corner at the last moment to juke you. You can even do that while lunging.
For the other loops you should post screenshots, so it's clear exactly what spots you're referring to.

Can we have exit gate progressions regress so people do not 99% the gates? I know you can open the doors manually as killer but sometimes it's better to leave it closed in hopes that you catch up to them quicker. But then, if regression is enabled then atleast end game collapse will work like how it's designed to.
Endgame collapse does work how it's designed to, though.

Funny thing tho, I'm yet to receive any "gg ez" from a killer.
Goes to show how toxic and entitled you get by being pandered for so long for clueless developers.
It's anecdotal and, as such, it shows nothing. I had an Oni gg ez me after I ran him twice (yes two times) for the full timer of his power and he eventually caught me in endgame. Does that show that killer bad survivor good? Of course not. It's the players, the role is irrelevant.
-
We haven't had one of those since forever.
Two very easy choices to get the ball rolling would be to take the effects of Windows of Opportunity and Zenshin Tactics and slap them on two general perks. Then rework the teachables to do something else.
-
It's fine in isolation, but extremely strong when paired with J. Myers Memorial. Or, with Judith's Journal, to a lesser extent.
Slap corrupt and infectious on top of that, plus something else of your choice (probably monitor and bamboozle), and you pretty much have the game in the bag.

The DC icon you see in the hud simply replaced the sacrificed icon for when the insta suicided on hook...
-
It's a wasted perk slot. After a week it was out and the novelty declined, I've never seen it again.

The people you're talking to don't read the forums.

what is the discussion then?

300h aren't that many. So, don't feel disheartened. There are 33 maps in dbd, iirc. Simply learning the layouts is already a daunting task. Then there are all the other things you need to pay attention to. Keep practicing and don't go in with the expectation of surviving, 4k'ing, or pulling off amazing plays. Just try to learn something from every mistake. You'll improve much faster and be happier in the process.
-
Would you play a game where you get punished for using the items that you had to sweat your butt off to unlock?
I don't think so. Other games have tried and failed.
-
@timbologna said:
I don't think he should be punished for this, if he moved you would've easily all gotten an escape. This did not stall the game. Also why were all 3 of you on the ruin? He sacrificed chase and hit points to trade off for sacrifice points.
The OP said they got blocked all the game and because of the ruin spawn, which sounds like they were cleansing before the gens were completed.
It's been confirmed that if it's done for a prolonged amount of time before EGC triggers, then it's bannable. After, it's not.

Double engraving and Insta-Saw Billy are the reasons they're nerfing him.
They just need to nerf his addons, not make them stackable and get rid of his Red Bar.
Should have done that with Nurse as well, don't make her addons stackable and that's that.
If you simply didn't make them stackable, you'd still have Crackbilly, which would be just as problematic. I've never seen double engravings as an issue, but they certainly did considering they nerfed them hard.
Imo, they're nerfing him because they believe it'd be easier to make balance changes if all powers have a cooldown of sort instead of having an outlier.

Look at your perk tiers. You're not really a level 19 killer. Matchmaking is working in this case.
He's devotion 0 level 25. Two perks are Legion's, another is a general perk and only one is a teachable from another character.
He's a real level 19.

Stretched doesn't increase horizontal fov, only vertical. The difference in the two snapshots is due to the camera being angled differently.
If you want to test if you get an advantage, you have to do it at a loop and check if you can see a shorter object behind it. You will find out that when hugging the loop like in normal gameplay, then if you can see the killer over it with stretched, then you can as well on native and vice versa.
The reason is that the deciding factor to see over a loop to spot something shorter hiding behind is the height of the camera, not vertical fov. Stretched doesn't affect the former.
Now, stretched does have an impact when your camera is moved down in 1st person view, i.e. breaking pallets, vaulting as killer, Nurse/Legion fatigue. It helps keeping track of what's in front of you. On something extreme as 1080:1080, for some reason it's almost impossible to be blinded by flashlights as well.
Also, talking about native vs stretched can be misleading. It's a matter of aspect ratio. If you play on a 4:3 monitor, you have on native the same fov of someone using something like stretched 1600:1200 on a 16:9 monitor. Should you be forced to buy a new monitor?
If you ask me, it's a lot of fuss about nothing, except for the few situations I mentioned. Stretched has been in games since forever.

I just lunge and slug them, unless there are 4/5 gens to go. In that case I eat the DS and they regret they wasted it like that.

No, what i think they should do is fix gen speeds and camping and tunneling in the same go. make the game more fun for everyone. This isn't an either or scenario. Both playstyles are a problem and not fun for either side. So why not fix them both?
BHVR tried to fix camping and tunneling and it didn't work. They abandoned any attempt and since then the official position is that those are intended mechanics because they can be punished by rushing gens when done at the wrong time.
I disagree, especially considering the experience of Deathgarden, but this is how they want their game. So, at the end of day, you have to accept that sometimes you have to play 'unfairly', because that is how the game is intended to work.

It is 100% a losing situation unless you tunnel/camp/slug and the survivors make several mistakes. I hate playing like that, but they make me do it.
Then do it. Do you think that if gens were slowed early game than tunnelling/camping/slugging would be discouraged? It would be the exact same thing. It would simply be a 4k at 4 gens left instead of 2.
-
If you thought they were going to completely revert the basekit changes after investing in the implementation of the overheat mechanic, then you were being a little bit too optimistic.
The number tweaks look pretty significant, so much that Billy might be playable again.
As for the add-ons, I think they're simply afraid to make broken ones and another revamp will cost them too much time. It sucks but it is whatever at this point.
Be happy that Billy might (discretion advised) still be alive and kicking. Except crack and insta saw, but those are a good riddance.

I finally got the achievement yesterday on PS4.
It's after unhooking a survivor, so basically doing it right under the killer's nose. Then get hit and get the 'protection' score notification.
I'm not sure if you can get if another survivor does the unhooking and you're next to the hook and take a hit. But it popped when I unhooked a survivor and took the hit the second after the unhook.
So done. 100% DBD and 100% DBD 2 trophies on PS4. All done.
It works even when unhooked by someone else, but yeah, the guy must essentially be farmed in front of the killer to make it count and the killer must not go for the immediate tunnel.
You used to be able to tell if it worked because you would get two protection hit score events, one for 200 BP and the other for 100. I think it's no longer the case since they changed how protection hits work.
-
They'll probably tweak the numbers, like they did with the Doc ptb. The overheat mechanic is going through 100%, though.
-
Sorry, bro. Can't watch from my phone. Also, I just noticed who the OP is, so this thread is confirmed to be just a waste of time.
-
You can tunnel and camp even if it's not a swf. You don't need this forum blessing, if that's what you're looking for.

To date, being completely honest I still have yet to see a Deathslinger that doesn’t proxy camp.
He really is one of the worst killers they’ve ever put in the game. I think I’d even take a Legion over this chump.
It's his kit that is built for that. 110% speed with wonky TR and a ranged attack that can't snowball like a Huntress's hatchet. He's made to proxy just outside TR with monitor.
-
Interesting concept. The marked status effect wouldn't pass in that form imho, unless there was a way for the marked survivor to remove the effect.
Perversion is interesting, but it lasts too long, especially for giving you bloodlust 1. BHVR would probably slap a cooldown on top as well.
Tolerant is spirit fury on steroids, it would never pass.
Liberator looks neat, but I don't think it would replace BBQ or thrilling.

Shhhhhhh don't spread that or it will be nerfed.
A fix is not a nerf.

The unbreakable part works only if there's a hex and it actually encourages them to not cleanse, which works in your favor. It's really not that strong of a perk.

You have no clue how this game works if you think the killer has any ability to stop gens from being done against not bad survivors in red ranks. Not even perfect, no even optimal, not even good, just not bad. You're also equally delusional if you think protecting a hook is 2nd chance in anyway at all.
You're even MORE delusional if you think that any amount of camping or tunneling is happening in this game. News flash, it isn't. These perks are being abused because they're mindlessly broken and allow for things to happen that were never intended to. They aren't prevent tunneling or camping, they're rewarding survivors for bad gameplay.
Even some of the most well known neutral content creators constantly talk about how much of a joke these survivor perks and mechanics are.
I play killer at rank 1. Feel free to check my post history where I also posted screenshots. Not gonna read after your first sentence which already invalidates anything you could say.
You can either learn the game and trying to improve, or come here on the forum to complain and obtain nothing. Your call. I'll still enjoy my wins in the red ranks. Have a nice one, bye.

She was introduced during an era where the game was vastly different. She was essentially a band-aid fix for all the issue there were back then. She's meant to be hard to use because her power just breaks the game. That's possibly also why they made her clunkier and unfun.
-
No, it wouldn't. If they're scared of a permanent effect, they could make it so it lasts 3 minutes every time you get injured. Still not great.
-
Entity displeased.

@NoShinyPony said:
If the difference between a 3k and a 4k bloodpoint- and pip-wise would not be that significant, we would see a lot less slugging.
The solution is kind of obvious.
Pips mean nothing. If you get many hooks then the bp difference is often marginal.
-
All this 2nd chance label is just a made-up slogan with very little basis. Perks are enhancement, for both sides. Nothing more. They had to use '2nd chance' perks to counter your '2nd chance' ability built into your basekit aka camping and tunneling. You failed preventing the generators from being completed and you can't catch them again if you leave the hook. No problem. 2nd chance by just staying with the hanging guy. See what I did there? Get over it, nobody would play a game called 'get rehooked in 1 second simulator'. That's how Deathgarden died out. You have your '2nd chance' basekit, they have to sacrifice slots for their '2nd chance' perks. Learn and move on, none of this stuff is a cheat card to a win.
Two tips:
- in the endgame, hook as far as possible from the gates.
- if they get out, don't get mad. They already completed the larger part of their objective and they've already a foot out the door, figuratively. If you manage to get many kills in the endgame, it's more a bonus for you, not some great accomplishment or amazingly skilled gameplay.

Then I'm really running out of ideas. All I'm left to say is to restart Steam, check file integrity and, if all else fails, the good ol' reinstall your game.

I don't see anything that says crossplay. I know what you mean, but it's not appearing for me.
Can you confirm you're on PC? This is what I'm talking about:
20200713224719_1 -
I'd love that. There are lesser games that have many more QoL features, we don't even have a decent tutorial or a practice mode.
-
If you're on pc, go into settings and at the bottom make sure that cross play is enabled. Then restart your client.
-
I rarely pay attention to offerings, but I remember very well one trial with a single map offering that failed.
-
I have, but I don't remember if it was on that side.
I've also seen many 4 gens on Suffocation Pit near the main building.
Both maps are notoriously bad for gen locks.
-
Probably it doesn't matter much, because the increased charge time should discourage usage anyway due to heat build-up. And to think they were the only add-ons I used, aside from the occasional drift king Billy. What have we become.
-
You will continue to be able to use them after the event ends.
