I'll second this. There's not much to add, really. It's such a no-brainer improvement.

Pretty much. It would be such a no-brainer QoL fix. I guess Legion nerfs are higher priority though.

I generally don't dodge, unless I'm doing a challenge/daily/achievement.

Can you link the actual footage, for a little bit of context?
-
Only for NOED that I used on Doctor. He was the first killer I used because I read he was good for blood points and I had few perks on him.
-
Once as trapper on Thompson's House, I sacrificed two people. I was chasing this Nancy and I hear the last gen pop. As I downed her near an exit gate, EGC triggered. The other exit gate was on the other side of the map by the main building. So, I just hooked her and thought 3k.
I went to the open gate and I see this Feng waiting at the exit line. I trapped the entrance of the gate and I left without pushing her out, to see if she wanted to be a hero. She disarmed the trap. I went back after a little bit and reset it. She actually got the save meanwhile. I intercepted the Feng and downed her as she was making a run for the trapped gate.
I had just hooked her and I heard self-care sounds next to me. The Nancy was hiding in the corner of the gate, inside the map, not in the gate area. She finished the heal as I swung, so I only put her in injured state. She ran for the exit and she would have made it 100%, but BAM! She stepped into the trap. GG.
As survivor vs a huntress on Haddonfield, it's down to two of us and one gen left. I was getting chased down the street and, as the last gen popped, I get downed with NOED while passing by the hatch. I got hooked nearby and the killer went to check around the hatch. It was then that I saw this madman Bill running straight to me like he meant business. I thought to myself "well, you better have BT, because I'm taking this hit now matter what, or we're dead".
I barely managed to bodyblock the huntress against the fence just after being unhooked. She tried to delay, but eventually she had to hit me. I was so caught in the moment that the whole time I had never checked if I actually had BT or not. I did. We both lost the killer and she headed to the exit gates, which had spawned next to each other. I didn't know Bill's whereabouts.
So, I tried to work on a gate while getting the killer's attention, but she wouldn't commit. After a couple of minutes of back and forth, I hear NOED being cleansed. This time the huntress did come after me. I managed to lose her and as I was trying to make my way to the gates, EGC triggered and the killer pushed Bill out. I waited for my moment and I sneaked past her. GG.

... and buff them in other areas to compensate. But let them feel the pain of requiring skill to have situational awareness please. You can become a rank 1 survivor by playing mediocre, rank 1 killer, not so much.
Discuss.
Ok, then make all killers 100% speed and let them feel the pain yadda yadda yadda.
-
The way to deal with it is counterintuitive. They want your attention, so you don't give it to them, with exceptions.
Generally, they're trying to lure you in a chase. If they're heading toward a series of strong tiles and you're using a loopable killer, then you ignore them, just like you should. Chances are they're going to follow you around to get you on them. Congratulations, you have one fewer survivor on generators. If they get too cocky and expose themselves on weak tiles or get too close, that's when you chase them. It's not unusual to see an instant DC when you down them like that.
Some killers may facecamp survivors who behave like this. It's legal and you get no argument from me for or against. If the survivor wants the attention, then they just got it. Remember though, that unless you're playing Bubba, you can't really snipe down a specific survivor out of the game with certainty. If they're a coordinated team with anti-tunneling perks, the best you can do is to force hook trades. So, in general it's a better deal to just play normally. Once you've nullified they're offensive by ignoring their taunts, you've already half defeated them.
Also, if tbagging gets you, then stay away from the exit gates when they're open.
-
This is a pretty good idea and it looks balanced. I don't see it superseding Bond or Kindred, but it would offer a good alternative suitable for an altruistic playstyle.
While we're at it, Distorsion deserves some love too. With the amount of killer aura-reading perks and add-ons, those 3 tokens are almost useless. I suggest a mechanic to replenish tokens similar to Stake Out or Diversion.
-
I think I just found out how I'll get my Doc adept. Tnx!
-
Increasing gen time further, either via perma ruin, secondary objectives, etc. would make camping op. If you increase repair time, then you have to nerf camping. Good luck with that.

I think what he needs is an add-on overhaul, much like Billy. Honestly i wouldn't be surprised if he gets a full rework, though. He's a notorious camper in the community's eyes, so bhvr might see fit to make him a poor camper while buffing everything else about him.
His power is incredibly effective IF he has pwyf stacks, so maybe they should increase his base movement speed when charging; a cap might be necessary, as a charging Bubba with well over 110% movment speed might be too oppresive. It would also be nice if the chainsaw worked like Billys in that it activates when fully charged, thus giving the ability to fake the chainsaw at pallets. Too often I'll think I have it fully charged just to let go and realize it was a single pixel away from being charged.
The only way to nerf his camping potential is to remove the possibility to hit multiple people. However, that is essentially his trademark. You take that away and he becomes a Billy with perfect steering and no map pressure.

100% grunts of pain suppression and you don't scream either (built-in iron will and calm spirit).
If you want to make it become pseudo-meta, then you start the trial healthy and the broken status effect icon doesn't show on the killer's hud.

Personally, my favorite is when someone without DS is branded the Obsession and they get tunneled to death for doing absolutely nothing wrong.
The best is when that they don't have DS, but they're the obsessions because of Rancor and still they get the [BAD WORD] tunneled out of them from early game. It gets me every time that happens.

Time-outs aren't going to fix DCs, they're just going to inflate hook suicides.

You could also say that the survivors' behaviour from the OP's first game wasn't mature. Nobody did anything against the rules, neither the survivors nor the OP.
It isn't realistic to expect that a player will just swallow such a high amount of frustration. Some kinds of gameplay fuel some other types of gameplay. It's a cycle.
Btw @JC316 If you see 2+ flashlights in your lobby, try Lightborn. I often get free hits & downs because survivors keep standing in front of me too long, still trying to blind me.
I agree with you except the first point. Nothing in the account of the facts leads me to believe that the survivors in the first game acted immaturely. It looks more like a mixture of inexperience of the killer and unbalanced matchmaking (the latter is hardly breaking news). If you hook your first survivor and see the other 3 by the hook, you should start licking your chops, because they're handing you the win on a platter. It doesn't matter if they're swf seal team 6, they're playing the worst strategy possible. Pallet and flashlight rescues are killer mistakes, not game design faults.
I understand venting frustration, we've all been there. However, after the op did that in game, they carried that attitude to the forum with a mixture of whining and gloating. At no point they asked "what could I have done better?" It's all the game's and the survivors' fault according to the op.

They need to slow down the game. People have been saying this for a long time.
Their problem is that they can't do it further without nerfing camping.

It actually took me 6 matches as a couple of times the obsession escaped but apart from that it was notable for 2 things:
1) The salt. People REALLY don't like being hard camped by a chainsaw revving Leatherface.
2) Results weren't actually that bad. My tactic was to hook and chase until I found the obsession. Then I would hard camp the obsession to death. Only 1 match did the survivors do the sensible thing and do gens. The others they acted like fools and on 2 occasions even tried unhooking right in front of me. What! Twice I was also able to defend a hook by downing one and grab interrupting another. Ridiculous.
Overall I enjoyed the whole thing more than I expected. It was easier to get chainsaw downs than I remember. I was also partially inspired by his recent red rank stats.
Camping is very effective against solo q and 50/50 against swf, for mixed reasons.
Gj on the challenge. Nemesis would definitely make it easier.

It's already in the game, just not in the canon lore. If you see a Dwight wearing red, boom, that's as Evil as it gets.

I rather have it as a press-n-hold so I don't have to break my keyboard struggling.
I agree with this. Spamming a key adds nothing to gameplay but annoyance. This is one of those aspects that surprises me the most for how long it's been in the game and how little does for it. At least press-n-hold, even if not more fun, is less annoying. I understand it's called "struggle phase", but it's novelty wears out in the first 5 games. Not to mention the mechanic is so finicky that skipping a single beat instantly kills you. At this point, it's just an encouragement to rebind to mouse wheel down if you have infinite scroll, or make a macro.

The point is....
One survivor is easily replaced by another, or even a killer turned survivor. Where as 1 Killer gone makes the wait time for four people maybe 5 longer.
You might say well one killer is easily replaced by another, but the whole point here is we are losing Killers because the rank 1 Killer game can be fun, but it can also be a nightmare, that often leads to people taking the rest of the night off, and play something else.
And what makes the Killer game a nightmare is all the changes that fall on Killers because survivors don't want to learn to play differently. They complain about over powered Killers until their one trick pony game style is all they need. Pallet Loop ... repeat
You can lie to yourself and think that 1 Killer = 1 Survivor but they are not. There is a reason that when Killers have had enough frustration, they change over to survivor, for a easy breezy game experience.
I'm going to guess you main survivor, try playing both. I used to be a killer main, but switched over to survivor because I wanted to enjoy what limited game time I have, not slowly work myself into a state where I don't even want to play anything. And yeah I get tunneled, camped, and slugged, just like the rest of the survivors here, only thing with me is I know why these things happen and it has nothing to do with bad killers, and everything with unbalance in the game.
And to those people who would say "Its just a game , don't let it get you worked up" you are right, it is just a game, and if it upsets people they should take a break from it and play something that does give them enjoyment. But that's the issue here isn't it? Killers are choosing to not play and for every one that doesn't play, 4 survivors players have a que increase.
tl;dr
-
DS, Unbreakable, DH, BT. There's a reason why they're meta perks.

It's a broken perk in swf, unless you're playing a stealthy killer. In that case, tunnel the OoO like there's no tomorrow.

So, why not showing the aura of the camping killer St this point? Camping is so strong against solos, unless someone brings kindred. And even after the kindred buff, I hardly see it used.
Kindred doesn't trump Undetectable anymore, meaning that stealth killers and to a lesser extent Insidious defeat it. It's more useful as a coordination tool to know who should go for the save. Its anti-camping potential is gone though.

Need to adapt and learn counterplays. Survivors want none of that git gud!

I actually did that and it didn't count for me, so I assumed it had to be a save. But that's hardly the first challenge I've completed that didn't count. I should have known.
Then it glitched. It counted for me. Do it a lil early to ensure you get the blind. You won't get the save but, you know, it's tome challenges and everyone's gonna play meh.

Don't dodge the question, dude: When was the last time you actually had a good opportunity to open the exit gates as Killer, and opening the exit gates actually had an impact on the outcome of a match?
It's been mentioned time and time again since the devs implemented it. EGC was designed as a way to prevent survivors from taking the game hostage and avoid stalemates. As killers, we can try to use it strategically in every way we like. However, the fact that there aren't many options is not reason to have a buff so that it helps getting kills, because that wasn't the reason for its implementation.

It’s called camping and using your power. It’s essentially basement bubba (and no not the fun Monto kind. It’s more of the No0b3 kind). And it’s actually a pretty good strat unless the hooked surv has Kindred.
Kindred doesn't work anymore against Undetectable.

I really can't see a reason to nerf either of these or the combo. Ruin usually gets popped within 2 minutes, and if survivors are afraid of NOED all they have to do is cleanse totems. NOED and Ruin are 2 of the few things that encourage survivors to do something other than gens.
I don't necessarily agree with the proposed changes, but the way I see them is that they would give survivors incentives to pursue a secondary objectives, i.e. breaking dull totems. So, maybe they're both a nerf and a buff?
-
Queue times are influenced by many factors, the only way to know the composition of the player base is to have access to more accurate data.
I can tell you that for me in the late afternoon/evening EU CET is exactly the opposite: survivor is 2 min tops, killer is way higher. Yesterday, it was particularly bad, killer queues were 10 min at the very minimum for me. I basically watched more youtube than played.
-
It's a good perk, but arguably its crucial attribute to reveal campers no matter what is now gone.
-
Well played, OP. Here, take my upvote.
-
This is unreasonable.
The Pig and Legion nerfs/"tweaks" are the most questionable and Nurse could use some adjustments. Oni was simply bug fixing, it was stated immediately that the flick was unintended.
Spirit and Freddy are still S-tier and very low skill-floor.
Other than that, survivors have been nerfed consistently for a couple of years now, including the last DLC.

I disagree with you on most of your post.
One killer allows 4 survivors to play. That means if we lose say 5 Killers due to frustration, that is at least 20 people waiting longer for a match. If those killer switch to becoming survivors, then we now have 25 people waiting for fewer lobbies.
You can see how losing even one killer makes the lobby time crappy for much more then himself. Where as you would need 4 survivors all throwing a hissy fit, to effect the same number of people.
Every game is a 5-piece. If you lose 1, killer or survivor regardless, there are 4 other people who can't play.

If you kept all the messages or screenshots, you should report it. It's a bannable offense and they deserve it.

Unfortunately, that is working as intended. Those rank 20s were probably playing with the rank 7 survivor and the game can match you with them after the recent matchmaking changes.
For example, if you are in a swf group with rank 20 teammates as a rank 1 survivor, the game will search for a rank 1 killer.
That hilarious feeling when you realize there's no end to how SWF manage to screw solo q survivors 🤣

More like BHVR puts out a dlc with an atrocious amount of bugs, including a couple game crippling ones, and 70% of the community asks for an update without new content but with game health improvements.
-
I only play like 50% survivor, but I've seen this a lot. From the comments, ymmv. I think it might be region and platform based due to matchmaking, whereas people see this done and then mimick it. So, it might be more common in certain geographical areas. I play PC in the EU, for what it's worth.
-
Underrated in the hands of a skilled player with the right build is a more fair description in my opinion, but that's true for many other killer characters.
BHVR: did you guys just say nerf pig and legion?! Comin' right up!
-
Ok, a couple observations.
1) To OP. You played that spot incorrectly, imho. Don't take it personally, we all make mistakes (I do all the time). There was no reason to grab and hindsight has nothing to do with it. Just m1 the unhooker, then the unhooked. You had two easy downs even with possible borrowed time in play. DS saved them in that situation in a way that is unintended, true imho. That doesn't change the fact that they made a very bad play that you could have capitalized on with a viable counter. The design of the perk carries only half of the blame in that spot.
2) To everyone saying change DS to deactivate if someone else gets hooked. That's a really dangerous change, because it would favor campers and thus tunnellers, because you know, the two go hand in hand. By camping (either face or proxy via stealth, m&a etc) and forcing or enticing the unsafe unhook, the killer again has two easy downs. Then simply hook the rescuer before the rescued and boom, camped and tunnelled effectively despite DS. The deactivate-upon-someone-else-is-hooked condition is no good to make the perk work as intended, it actually breaks it, at least not with additional stipulations.
