Oh the democracy....read the thread please. And noone cares about the DEV’s opinion of what is a win and what not lmao.

Well, the devs set the condition for the hatch too. So, if they think 3k is a win already and you want them to change their mind, you might have no other option than care about their opinion about things game-related. DUCY?

  • If you get a gamebreaking bug, or other technical problems that make it unreasonable to keep playing. If other people are acting contrary to the written rules, to the point that the match becomes pointless, or unreasonably more difficult than the norm for either side. If there have been DCs already and the match is essentially doomed, so you just want to move on (works either as survivor or killer).

Atm, it's either playing killer (unfun) or having survivor queue times that last as long as matches (unfun).

If somebody doesn't have fun, it's the right thing to do to just play other games.

I don't see these long queue at all for survivor. It's a local issue of certain areas and time of the day if anything, not a universal one.

  • He's a buggy killer, other than that he's fine. Kinda boring to play as and against, though.

  • I mean, by the title of the topic, they actually let you win by how the played. Are you really complaining about their complaining? They're sore losers. Those are everywhere in life. Now, imagine being a sore winner.

Overly dramatic? What exactly is wrong with the use of the word "robbed"? Being "robbed" in games, to my knowledge, has always signified having a win or something beneficial stolen or taken from you through either RNG or sometimes through "cheap" mechanics. The use of the word seems pretty on point in the context given.

Also, what exactly is the appropriate response to getting keyed twice (or even once) in a match you are close to winning? No doubt, the first reply will be from a zen-master with all their chakras aligned and has iron willpower who never gets tilted or frustrated by any game, ever. DBD, and most games, elicit emotional responses from us lesser humans. Sure, a double key may end up surprising a veteran and make them laugh at the absurdity, but the OP could be a new player, or has been subjected to keys multiple times recently, making the double key game especially frustrating. Hell, they literally made an account to post about it.

Tl; dr. You're being overly dramatic.

Well lets go over it shall we

    1. Just because it was at one point worse for killers doesn't mean its okay it just means its improved
    2. Increasing Gen time to 100 seconds would make a lot of perks come to play more and make them more efficient overall. I know I say it a lot but Thana (its my favorite perk okay) is honestly GARBAGE right now. 8% (Averagely 2 people are injured at one time) is just 6.4 seconds which obviously is minuscule and basically nothing but with increased timers it would be a flat 8 seconds additional which is a bit game changing. Perks like Pop would make it so it would go from it regressing the gen by 20 seconds (as it is now) to a flat 25 seconds.

Overall it would be easier to balance around

Gen time must be balanced with sacrifice time. Increasing the former too much would make camping op, because a player could be essentially removed from the trial with less drawback.

At that point, as long as the killer is not a potato, the match is much more easily winnable even if only 2 gens remain, because snowballing becomes much easier.

This thread is perhaps a perfect example of the ridiculous community toxicity that DBD has. Someone makes a thread and explains that he had a bad time due to the circumstances in-game. Then half a dozen people tell him that it's "his fault" for not playing well enough or he "didn't pay enough attention". Meanwhile, the sentiment and frustration about how a game, that the killer was clearly on the path to "winning" and gets snatched away from him by items (twice), goes unaddressed. The lack of empathy and assumptions being made, "bring franklin's, bring mori", are ridiculous. You don't know if he has Franklin's Demise. You don't know if he has access to a Mori in any given game. You don't know if the keys were brought into the trial from the beginning, or if they were found.

Keys feel cheap when they end a game that the killer is in control of. That is fact. Counter arguments about Moris are irrelevant and a distraction from the topic at hand. Dictating the use of Franklins is nonsensical due to keys being able to be acquired mid-trial; thus essentially requiring the perk to be equipped at all times.

The OP is being laughed at because they're being overly dramatic. The title of this thread says literally "robbed". Of course, nobody can't take that seriously.

  • This is the closest one I can come up with. When he plays killer he always plays at least some nurse and plays her add-on-less. There were more vods until a few days ago with quite a few matches, but now they're unavailable. He usually 4ks, even on Lery's.

Yeah, I’m a killer main and agree the bleed out timer is far too long.

It should be two minutes to be in line with the sacrifice sequence. I wouldn't have an issue with that.

  • That would make enduring+spirit fury even more meta and most pallets would become useless even without bloodlust.

  • Not a good change. Ruin becomes potentially OP for high-pressure killers who didn't need it in the first place and useless for the killers that needed it.

They should have just reworked it as a hex that increased base gen time to 100 sec flat, maybe disabled great skill checks and doesn't stack with other slowdown perks/add-ons while the totem is active, BUT it's also immune to genrush perks/items.

Boom, noob friendly and still works early game in favor of the killer and there are no hostage situations. If the survivors don't want to hold m1 for that long, they can simply look for the totem. Ez.

  • Fake one side and go to the other one, then swing slightly toward the hook, it will land on the guy behind. This 'tech' is one of the dumbest trends and I lost count of the amount of dcs I got after wrecking the dumbnuts who try to pull it off on me.

  • @Cheers said:

Honestly I think the perk is overrated and very situational.

I don't think it's overrated because it isn't really used that much, but it's definitely situational.

  • I see players throwing games, toxic killers and toxic survivors all the time. Hardly breaking news.

  • PWYF, Nemesis, Infectious Freight.

Knife Scratches imo or The Beast's Marks.

  • I like the aesthetics. Very killer-sided. Don't break many of the pallets, they're ezpz to mindgame and you can even pallet respect because many of the loops are ridiculously short and useless without a stun. Remember to follow blood pools, you have free bloodhound on those floors.

As a survivor, never burn that offering. The gen on the top floor is a death trap without balance landing. Never run up there if you're being chased.

  • Because the wonderful tutorial is all you need. Then you log into a game, get destroyed for some dozen hours not knowing wth your'e doing and, if you stick around long enough, you graduate from bot to living organism. As they saying goes: only the strongest something something.

Source: BHVR aka we care about players' fun.

And above all, remember: DC is not an escape.

  • Penalties won't change anything, because those already exist and they don't stop facecamping. I'm not talking about late game, but if they facecamp off the first hook and early game, they do it because they want to ruin your experience. That's their reward, they don't care about bp or pips. So, saying just do gens and their penalty is that they depip and get crappy bp from the match is hardly going to make any difference. Especially for those who solo and get bot teammates.

Incentives/disincentives work only for those who care about those. If you want it to stop, then a mechanic needs to be implemented that counters it. That's why certain perks /builds are meta (and yet not perfect) and swf>>>>solo. Also, if it's a Bubba, you're a goner and must accept your fate.

Honestly, rather than gutting Ruin, and potentially making it op for high-pressure killers who didn't need it in the first place and useless for all the others, I would have preferred they addressed this problem. BHVR cares about fun, but I'm sure they lose many more new players to the various Bubba/Wraith/Pig/GF who camp and tunnel a survivor out of a match in 2 min than they ever had to Hex: Ruin.

  • Favorite: Hillbilly and Trapper. I would also say Huntress, but her hatchets are just too broken.

Least favorite: Freddy, Hag and Spirit. Too boring.

  • @Mew said:

no, she can still be screwed over by rng and certain structures can be actual infinites against her (house of pain on lampkin lane and badham)

imo, nurse is still the best killer in the game. she still ignores everything a survivor has to use in a chase so a lot becomes moot.

I actually ran a huntress around for 4 gens on Lery's using the hold-W tech. That was hilarious, because she should've just interrupted the gens we ran by countless time. Instead, she focused on me, but my having just a bit of a headstart and breaking LoS were her undoing. She was purple rank iirc.

  • Small game is a general perk and Detective's Hunch will proc with ease with the new Ruin. Just a heads-up for you, OP.

  • The answers itt are all correct, but you basically summed it up in the op: slug when the opportunity arises and, if I may add, if it works in your favor.

Survivors can be upset and all that, but if the full team is alive, 3 or 4-man slugs do not happen without heavy mistakes on their part.

  • They don't have a good track-record of going back on decisions, at least not promptly.

Frankly, putting a cooldown on top of a cooldown is just bad design and a change that nobody had asked for. If they want to keep the blink recharge mechanic, they should just remove the fatigue. If they want to keep the fatigue, then they should revert the changes to her basekit. There's no point in having both cooldown mechanics. Also, too many of her add-ons are gimmicky and serve little purpose. They look like the products of little effort and imagination.

The From The Void She Kills achievement has basically become impossible, unless you try to farm with the survivors, or Insidious camp your Ruin and hope you get oblivious survivors who don't watch nor listen. The Torn Bookmark has already a very clear downside which is implicit in how the blinks work now i.e. 3 second to recharge each one. There's no reason to disable the ability to teleport through objects in exchange for an extra blink, on top of the fact that it's an ultra rare. Just not very good changes.

  • I still remember one of the first time I was playing this map and I heard self-caring sounds right next to me. I looked around a few seconds trying to see this survivor when eventually a Blendette stood up 1m from me. She was legit invisible.

I think an item set that would make doors faster would be pretty cool. I think that if toolboxes got reworked to instead work on doors would be even cooler!

    @Peanits @PrettyFaceKate

Wake Up is actually pretty underrated. Next to Bond, it's probably one of my favorite perks. It makes the difference between escaping and being sacrificed all the time, especially if you're the last survivor.

Honestly, Wake Up has never been enough to make a difference for me, unless I had Resilience/Spine Chill along with it. The exit gate spawns are just that terrible. Even if they're decently spaced apart, the killer just needs a good spot/s in between to gain line of sight.

For how situational Wake Up is, I feel a decent buff could be applied without any danger of causing imbalances.

  • She's map dependant to a certain extent. She definitely benefits from hitboxes, both the hitbox of survivors and her hatchet's. It's true that she can't throw through certain objects, but once you know which ones you can, the generosity of the hitboxes is definitely in her favor. She's a very fun killer, but unfortunately spaghetti-coded, just like many other aspects of this game.

  • Buffing Wake Up would be more expedite, also because it's a really weak perk. The EGC is already countered by keys.

  • How TO counter Decisive:

    1. Slug for a minute allows free recovery----> you bait the rescue and juggle the survivors for pressure.
    2. They cleanse your Devour Hope---> you lunge.
    3. They slow vault---> you wait for the animation to end and then stab.
    4. They jump into a locker ----> you eat the DS and won't have to deal with it later.
    5. It's 120 secs of immunity ----> you eat the DS and it's 5 sec of immunity from 120.
    6. It's OP endgame----> see points 4 and 5.
    7. You spend 20% the duration of your matches while stunned----> you need to git gud.
    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

    8. Prevents you from tunneling---> You avoid tunneling in the first place.

  • Some people itt are clearby members of r/woosh

  • I think they may touch carburetor tuning guide, because it's objectively in a bizzare place for an add-on. I don't see a reason to change anything else.

Can we once not have a discussion about Gen Speed without the mention of a tru3-Video? This guy is complaining about Gens going to fast while still getting 4Ks...

That's his fault for choosing to not use a top-tier killer like the Wraith.

  • Bubba needs a rework that makes his power useful in chases, not making him a better facecamper.

  • Legion: please, reduce our stun.

Nurse: kids, nowadays. They always want it easy.

  • I can because Peanits was replying to my comment. They never said it's not happening. They skated around the question by saying it's not in the PTB. But when I asked specifically to confirm this change will not happen, they never answered.

So, it was in the leaked notes, but then it didn't make it to the PTB. It's possible they'll drop it on us either in the mid-chapter patch, or at a later stage, as they have a history of doing with unanticipated changes (Ruin).

Here you can read Peanits quoting my comment. Scrolling immediately below in that thread, you can see me asking to explicitly confirm this change is not happening, to which I didn't receive any answer.

shouldn't work with extra hatchets and to compensate that make the add on increase reload speed that way it's useable with reload add ons and iron maiden

I like this. Do you wanna be a one-shot-one-kill guy? Then prove it.

  • I had suggested rework as a hex that adds 20 secs to gen repair and doesn't affects skill checks, or at most it disables great skill checks. I'm sure other people had similar ideas and I mirror the sentiment that it would be the no-brainer rework to be new-player friendly and to slowdown the early game. I get it that gen repair is boring, but it would be still a hex and gens would progress rather than regress like current Ruin. It would also be more balanced than new Ruin, which is potentially op on killers with high map pressure when by miracle it stays up and in 3-gen situations.

  • I don't use it. When I play survivor, it's always solo and randos are generally overly altruistic. So, I either take aggro or do gens. Also, BT is most effective endgame, when the camp is in the facd . Too many ways for killers to prevent it from proc'ing when they camp early to late. Super common for stealth killers, but also small terror radious killers who proxy, Insidious, M&A, Demogorgons doing the cheese teleporting to a portal 10m away, etc.

I'd rather have my own get out of jail card. Whenever I don't use DS, I always regret it.

  • I'd make the dream world a little brighter.

  • Spies from the Shadows, Stridor, Bloodhound and Shadowborn.

Poised, Wake Up, Sole Survivor and Spine Chill (Left for dead build).

  • I don't condone their dc'ing. I don't see the leap of reasoning to connect this fat sample size of one to these supposed "survivors that BHVR caters to" either.

  • I think Myers wouldn't cooperate. Lore-wise, he can even ignore the rules of the Entity and kill survivors when enough Evil fills him.

    @Walker_of_the_fog_96 said:

What would happen if the spirit and the nurse crossed?

Spirit would try the super-high-skill-cap-200-IQ-play-minimum-3k-hours-to-even-pull-it-off 'mindgame' of standing still like a dolt at a loop to try to trick the Nurse. The latter, being completely clueless about what a loop even is, would just proceed to blink and smack her booty. Then, she'd mori the Spirit on the spot, stealing her sighing breath to make a new add-on out of it.

    Enter:

    nurse spirit add on.png

  • I'm not positive about the new changes. I feel like they make Ruin useless for killers with low map pressure, who are the ones who need it the most, but it can actually become really powerful on killers with high map pressure, who ironically didn't need old ruin as much.

Surge, unfortunately, is really bad. It's the worse new Ruin. It has limited range, procs only on basic hits and has a cooldown. Smart survivors try to loop far from the gens being worked. So, killers with instadown who catch survivors near a gen, won't be able to proc Surge using their ability to down.

    1. Bond is the most reliable.
    2. Kindred if you're often paired with bad survivors.
    3. Empathy is the worse Bond. It's of little practical use to know if someone is being chased on the other side of the map.
  • @Star99er said:

What if when a survivor(s) is affected by the Blindness Status Effect it makes Hex Totems appear as Dull Totems? This would make Blindness Status better and it would make it to where survivors would have to cleanse every totem they see instead of running past dull totems to just look for the hex. Gen Rush is going to be stronger than ever after the next patch so I fee like this would be a good idea since it would make survivor spend more time doing side objectives and less time on gens. I could see Third Seal be good after this too.

The new meta is going to be to cleanse every totem anyway, because of the surge of NOED. Detective's Hunch will become meta too.

  • Pretty much. I suggest dodging all sketchy lobbies. Good luck.
