What's the point of setting up a 3 gen and patrolling it if after a single kill everyone else can escape via hatch. If hatch spawns on the other side of the map you have no way to guard it and keep the 3 gen. With the state of the game, 3 gen builds are the only way for some killers to be even remotely usable. Yet this item completely ######### them. Not to mention that it can come out of nowhere if survivors find one in a chest. Whats the counter play to that? Run frankilns every game in case they get a key from a chest? Keys are a stupid item that just aren't fun to go against and punish killers for doing what they are suppose to do. They should be removed or completely reworked
I quite like keys tbh. Idk, when survivors all escape with it it's a nice feeling cause earlier I had a 2 man SWF head on stun me, into the hatch and I was in awe about how coordinated it was, and gave them both the congrats. It needs a tiny rework, but these little plays shouldn't be removed as they're quite fun from both sides.
-
Yeah, I keep getting hit at the other side of the pallets, or through windows like you. Been so triggering since I get downed when I shouldn't.
-
One time, I faced a genuine god tier billy, he toyed with us but still crushed us, and this was back when I was actually quite good at survivor. Probably the only time I've been left in awe though.

Hehe.
I always try to be careful against Trapper and Hag, but it almost never works out XP
They're by far my least favorite killers to verse, because I'm always the one getting stuck in every trap or am the one setting everything off. :D
yeah, I hate facing Trapper. With Hag, I just irritate her so she can stay on me and my teammates plough through the gens. Both killers are just so unpredictable lol.

Yeah, perhaps the numbers should be tweaked to maybe 3 or 4 seconds?

yee i actually am surprised how chill this discussion is because i know its a pretty controversial topic and people are raging a lot about perks being op and stuff. so i am happy to get some good opinions and ideas here
Yep, this forum can be pretty wholesome sometimes!

some of them tell me on steam forums they got banned by mods for no reason, but I dont want to talk about that cause I think I can get banned lol
Yeah, best not to the mods don't like talking about bans.

I like that actually, like, I like it a LOT. It's new, it's fun.

It might've been my fault... (jk)
There's 1 game I remember that might've angered the opposing Trapper.
Basically the Trapper was having troubles catching other survivors and thus gens went flying.
All gens got popped and the totem in front of me lits up. I start cleansing and the moment it breaks, I get hit. Got instadowned nonetheless... (pretty good job so far).
I get hooked in the basement and he starts trapping the entire shack. I kobe, made him grab me, used DS, shimmered by all the traps and ran through the gate while a Dwight was twerking in the background.
Anyway...
Might be a personal vendetta aginst Kates? When I play Nea I get hit on hook, mori'd off first hook and get dropped in front of the hatch and get it closed on my face even though I usually go out of my way to make sure I'm not playing toxic.
Yeah, now whenever I face a Trapper, ima play super carefully lol.

True. Arguments used to get super heated back when I joined this forum, but now it's a lot more chilled out.

True, presenting these topics the wrong way only leads to more problems...but, I think OP has made their intentions clear enough. They even put OP in quotation marks.
To be fair, this topic is going fine so far... so far.

Well i dont complain about perks being too strong at all. Also Adrenaline is easily my favorite perk for Survivor. As Killer i don't use Noed and Bamboozle tho because imo it's low skill but i don't complain if someone uses it. A fact is just that it is a bit boring that there are only few top tier Perks and the other like 75 Perks are useles compared to them. But as long as there are good perks for both sides they balance each other out.
Exactly, happy we agree on that. I also personally dislike using Bamboozle, but I play killers who can bypass loops most the time (Oni, Spirit, Hag, Nurse and Demogorgon, although in Demogorgon's case, I get looped a bit, but she can counter it). NOED is a perk I've never touched and probably never will in a real build, although I used to run meme builds with it.
Idk, me not using NOED probably stems from the fact that I originally was a survivor main and now that I play both sides, I still can't play the perks that used to annoy me a lot (it don't anymore though). Although, it could also be that I hardly go to endgame.

There's a difference between OP and unhealthy. Not everyone complains about perks because they find them OP.
OP suggests it's 'over powered', which generally means it's 'unhealthy' for the game since it's too strong hence why it's called 'over powered', it would just be 'powerful' if it was just strong and that's it. So normally, OP stuff are considered unhealthy by that logic, you following me? There's only very few cases where stuff are considered unhealthy without being OP, which is seen in Legions case on release. But normally, people find 'Over powered' stuff unhealthy.
You understand?
-
Survivor, gg.
Killer, gg.
I don't really care if they deserved it tbh.

@josh6_66 said:

hm well you may realise i put OP in quotion marks because i dont think ist op either, it can be extremely strong in the right hands tho, maybe even a bit too strong
'too strong' suggests it's overpowered that's why I was misled. But I don't get the fuss about these perks, so easy to play around DS and Adrenaline is basically NOED but for survivors, as a player who plays both sides, I find both perks fine, same with NOED, BBQ, STBFL and Pop goes the weasel. The community just complains about good perks... :/
-
Nah, DS and Adrenaline aren't 'overpowered'. None of them are really that 'overpowered' the ones that people think are, are just good perks. :/

i never seem to get any trash talk apart from when i first started playing DBD, i was level 14 and all survivors were level 4-1, i killed them all and one of the msg me and said HA HA HA only level 14 git gud, ye really he was laughing at my rank but i beat them go figure 😂
XD shows you were better.

@obamagaming99 said:
Don't bother with the gg ez trash talk. Usually we really don't care and if we actually get affected by it doesn't that make you a giant #########? I used to care but now i really don't so don't waste your time with them. And instead just send two of the same letters. If you don't know what those two letters are i'm going to politely ask you to quit multiplayer games
Tbh killers say it more often in my experience.

@Huff said:
I have no problem like that in my games, and I have played Kate for the challenges (obviously). The only reason I can think that you're seeing that is that it's a player that just wants to be a jerk and purposely ruin somebody's chance at completing a challenge or something. Other than that, it's probably just coincidence.
No, they weren't doing it in a bad way lol. Just found it weird.
-
I have once, and it was rough. I hate that map as both sides.
-
I run a Nurses Calling in the last spot, then it's my exact Spirit build.

@DragonMasterDarren said:
I like yamoka's visual aesthetic, really I do, but good lord the map is either a black screen on ultra or a nearly black screen on low, make it brighter, remove the bushes and bamboo, you shouldn't be rewarded for simply pressing LCTRL or LSHIFT or whatever crouch is bound to into a bush and becoming basically invisible, it's dumb, people shouldn't be rewarded for playing dumb
I think they should nerf the stealth, and add more pallets in the first variation. For second, just nerf the stealth.

but imo the differences are that: noed rewards for killing failing and adrenaline rewards survivor for playing good.
True, true. NOED could be a token based perk tbh, based on how many hooks you get. Remove the Hex requirement too. I think that'd even it out fully with Adrenaline. Cause NOED can also be fully cancelled before you even get use out of it.

Old BL would be nice, but sadly I think they adjusted tiles to make old BL even stronger. The drops in coal tower are a big example. It's probably not coming back.
Sad, I loved that perk, but I guess balance-wise it had to get nerfed since the infinites it created were way too strong.

Currently they're testing out straight up doorways first, it seems like they're putting forth some good effort towards balancing maps. Taking their time and using feedback to adjust their approach seems like the right move to me.
Yeah, they are. Hopefully once all the maps are balanced, we'll get the old BL back too since it wouldn't be OP.
-
Yeah, it lets me focus lol, really weird perk.

I just think they're not putting enough effort into balancing it and just used breakable pallets as a bandaid. It's just my opinion though.
No, they are putting effort but they're missing the spot with breakable pallets.

Hard disagree. It's like sprinkling dropped pallets across the map, it adds more diversity and allows map balance to be more fine-tuned.
I just think they're not putting enough effort into balancing it and just used breakable pallets as a bandaid. It's just my opinion though.

Comparing adrenaline to NoED is like stick and stone but I will direct you to my new NOED change idea:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/149197/noed-change#latest
Adrenaline gives a speed boost, NOED gives a speed boost. Adrenaline gives you an extra hit, NOED takes away a state. Both activate at endgame, both situational. They are counterparts smh, and both are fine.
-
@BlueFirebilly said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1249768#Comment_1249768
Yeah so you can stop whining on the adrenaline thread, I’m done with whining bullshit
I wasn't whining lmao, I was telling you that there's no point in nerfing one without the other otherwise it'd be bias. But anyways, both are fine smh you need to get good if you can't counter them.
-
Wow u actually made a NOED thread too...
-
If you're going to change adrenaline, change NOED since it's the counterpart, otherwise don't bother changing it since they're both fine imo.
-
Yeah, take a break and chill. I took one for around 6 months I think, and it really cleared my mind. Now that I've came back I'm back to enjoying the game, even if I am ridiculously bad compared to before.

If i need to spend half my perk to counter something 4 people have in their basekit the game have an issue, just saying. Oh and let not forget Ruin is an hex, a incredibly weak on at that.
I consider breakable wall kinda weak of a change, we can't even break most of them unless we want to create good loops for survivors,
The worst being what killer refer as the ''meme room'', it vault that leard to 3 breakable walls. a dead end for survivor, but if the killer break one of the walls, they also need to break the 3 of them or it create an infinite god loops.
The breakable walls are honestly some of the worst things the devs have thought of. It's a mess of a design and a terrible bandaid.
-
As both I prefer looping.

DH,DS,BT being within 10 ft of a tree... all counters hatchet. 360 or basic zigzag
Other killers have basekit 1hk I don't see a problem for huntress to be occasionally almost as strong but situationally
Keys can be pulled out of boxes and have no counters. Its not comparable
Using your logic, they are comparable. Also, the other 1 hit KO killers have one little difference... They're not ranged. Iri heads are broken on her and should be nerfed.

If it shows up in your bloodweb...
And you buy your way to it...
I've done 2P working on 3 with my huntress and I've gotten a dozen or less.
Sometimes it takes 3-4 matches to buy my way to it if it shows up I can go entire weeks if playing without seeing one
:o But wait... Keys are also equally hard to get, equally oppressive and equally expensive... Does this mean that keys are also fine and shouldn't be touched? (sarcasm btw, being somewhat rare doesn't mean they should break the game)
-
Yeah it's weird, I found I even got Dweard...

@emptyCups said:
A rare item that costs tons of resources and is difficult to use and takes lots of practice... if you play nothing but killer and nothing but huntress you might have more then average... but really ultra rare should be that powerful its not like it could even be used every game
It costs 7,000 bloodpoints, that's not 'tons of resources'. It doesn't take practice or is difficult if you are an average Huntress. It shouldn't be so oppressive.

Could work. Wouldn't be opposed.
I mean yes, you would get a lot of the tokens in the first heal, but it's hard enough to find just ONE person who'll heal anyways. I think autodidact could be one of the best tbh.

Many Nurses quit due to that, as it changed her completely.
Spirit was minor, I think we can all agree with that.
The Ruin nerf limited my enjoyment of the game, mainly due to the fact I can't play alot of killers without trying to win rather than having fun. Ruin was probably the biggest and most ambitious change we've seen in Dead by Daylight.
Tbh, I can see what you mean by the fun bit.
-
@Cheers said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1243396#Comment_1243396
There were definitely some great things for killers, but alot of heavy hits.
Spirit and Nurse are still 2 of the best but only harder to use (in Nurse's case). Ruin was a heavy hit, that's true, but it gave birth to the really strong Ruin + Surveillance combo, and made gen tapping have a counter. Very neutral change for both sides. Breakable walls are... debateable, I don't think it's a heavy hit, but nor is it a help, I'm unsure.
Overall, wouldn't say they were 'heavy hits' for killers, they hardly changed the game aside from the ruin nerf.
-
@Pulsar said:
I disagree. I don't think it needs a buff. Forgive me if I am wrong, but it seems like you want a buff to Auto-Didact, maybe having it make skill checks appear more often, but they are more difficult?
I think it might need a little nerf to how far away you can detect a Killer, but other than that I think it is a super healthy perk.
Autodidact should give skillchecks every 4 seconds. Then it might actually work. If it's still underwhelming, make it 3.5 seconds.

Botany Knowledge, Spine Chill, medkits and add ons, etc, etc all increase your healing speed even more. What the perk description is saying is that if you unhook multiple survivors the perk itself will not keep multiplying.
This.
-
@Mikeasaurus said:
As far as I know, the 100% boost is the max speed you can have. I've never tested, but I assume it could also be combined with Autodiadact for some insanely fast heals, but I can't confirm it works. Also, rescuing another survivor while We'll Make It is still active just resets it's timer back to 30/60/90 to use again.
No, with botany knowledge it definitely surpasses 100%, test it. I found that it was significantly faster.
-
I play both sides, and the deadzones are annoying for survivor. Makes killer too easy. But the gen change makes survivors spread out more and do gens individually so it's actually harder to combat genrush, so overall, I think this patch sucks.
