    Ikr?

My fps went up and the game looks okay, but would rather have it without AA

At least I'm not alone lol.

  • My FPS is also slightly higher and my settings are all the same as before??

  • Even after this update? Pretty insane...

  • That map is a mess, needs more pallets and less hiding places. It's terrible for survivors and killers, aside from Blendettes.

  • Yes

    Yes

    A bit to be honest

As killer, not at all, or I don't notice it affecting me when I'm phasing. As survivor, perhaps cause it helps me against Spirit.

Haven't had someone say "ez" in my killer games for weeks now. Most are just ggs. Although,I have noticed alot more killers are tunneling/using moris and so on. As for ur killer problem, nothing you can do except keep playing until you reach their lvl.

Faced a Freddy with ebony mori, was a cool dude lol. I think killers are using it more often in case it gets gutted or reworked.

  • Kate and Rin for sure.

Cool. You're entitled to your wrong opinions.

Huntress should be in A tier and Deathslinger should be in orange A- tier.

"But they're both ranged 110% Killers with chase powers?!"

Yes, but Huntresses power lets her down MULTIPLE Survivors in a short span of time. As ridiculously strong as a good Deathslinger is at a 1v1 he can ONLY 1v1.

Huntress, Hag, Spirit, and Nurse are the only Killers who, through use of their power, can quickly down multiple Survivors in a small area and down Injured Survivors almost instantly and turn a chase into a 1v2 or 1v3.

If Deathslinger finds 3 Injured people on a gen (and they all split up as he approaches) he can only down one if he uses his power, no matter how good he is. He can still leave after the others, but he is abandoning the slug and the gen to do so.

Huntress and etc. can down two or occasionally all three with good use of their power AT the gen.

A great Huntress isn't unbeatable like a great Nurse, Spirit, or (IMO) Hag is, and thusly doesn't belong in S Tier, because she lacks the mobility and map pressure of the other other three.

Deathslinger lacks these attributes in favor of a mostly uncounterable chase power. He's old Legion if Deep Wounds + Moonwalking had actually required skill. He also basically requires his reload speed add-ons.

Actually, looking back, I can kinda see where you're coming from. But there's also situations where Huntress wont do as much as 'Slinger, so I'll leave it as it is, but again, if I change my mind, I'll tell you.

Like cmon people on these forums act like 2 year old bitching about the other side or complaining about how an update isn’t exactly how you want it. Like just shut it with “the game is to killer oriented” or vice versa. Like stop whining, all the Updates devs had made are for the health of the game and if you can’t stand that your side isn’t going to be completely op then you definitely need to find a new game to play.

People whining ain’t going to help and for all those mains out there, maybe try playing the other side for once and get a new more realistic perspective.

Don’t go whining about things like the NOED, tunnelling, DS or SWFs just play to be the difference don’t add on to the millions of ######### problems the devs have by squabbling every day about the game being how you don’t want it

    Take my upvote.

  • Moris are early kills, keys are early escapes. A survivors objective is to ESCAPE, gens are merely the tool you use to escape.

Both should be removed, although I do agree where you say that they aren't THAT comparable.

Now when you're running through the maps of DBD and you haven't met the killer yet it makes sense that you're bright eyed and full of spunk. However after that sharp object slices your body up like a lawnmower you start to wonder...why am I still full of so much energy. And if my character is limping...why haven't I slowed down at all? But you're still being chased so you ignore it and then in a while you find yourself hanging in the air with a metal hook sticking out thine shoulder. Your comrade rescues you but your journey isn't over yet. The killer is nearby. So after all that you run at full speed still limping holes all over your body, blood dripping from every hole whether it was there before or not. And yet, how? If you are limping how are you running at the same speed as someone who has no limp? Someone who isn't suffering from severe blood loss? Now I play both sides of this game and I can say that playing survivor is boring because the challenge and scare factor is gone. It's just a meme at this point. But if there were a 5% maybe even 10% movement penalty to injured survivors until they were healed fully it would not only promote altruism but make killers like: Plague, Legion, and Clown better because people would need to heal in order to be able to get away from them. And if this happened it may also mean that blood lust may need to also be reduced a little but if you get to the third tier what are you really doing with your life anyway?

5% and 10% movement penalty is massive, that's giving the killer a free bloodlust I or bloodlust II. It's fine as it is.

  • Do that, and add a fat totem counter so it's fine.

I see you mistake skillful play for efficient play. Nothing is worse than a five-minute match of eating pallets. And like it or not, that's what most rank 1 sweaty swfs are all about. Maybe, MAYBE they might go for a single loop around a jungle gym. Maybe. Mostly they only loop god windows in my experience.

The problem with your line of reasoning is that you assume people stick around these deadzones. What happens if they don't? What happens if they don't care and let a teammate martyr themselves in emdgame? There is no skill to this style of play, no real conterplay, and unfortunately often no punishment. Creating deadzones may sound like a big deal, but when there's no reason to be there then it's really not. Who cares that you zone someone a little, they still have time to reach another pallet and slam it in your face in the significant majority of situations. These sort of chases simply take too damn long and don't get punished because YOU get punished for continuing it (their team does gens) or dropping it (you literally trade 1 pallet camper for another and then the gen pops and it's off to another section of the map). Down someone and hook them in a deadzone? Dude, theres now only 2 gens left and they are on the other side of the damn map, full of pallets. You now have 2 options: camp for the kill and let everyone leave, or go eat more pallets.

And I would remind you that the power of an instadown killer is that you can down them BEFORE they get to safety. Every single killer in the game excells in deadzones, it's basically an open field. Just not one with survivors in it because they all rushed the gens and left. There is no right answer to pallet camping if the survivors understand the basics of teamwork and do their damn objective. And the objective isn't the problem, it's the way they can buy time to complete it.

Ok, I don't agree with a single thing you said at all. Let's agree to disagree that camping pallets needs to be fixed. Since I really can't agree with your line of reasoning, I can see why it'd be annoying, but definitely not broken.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234430#Comment_1234430

That is completely untrue. The best teams just play ultra safe and don't give you a chance to hit them while their buddies hammer out generators and, as a killer, you really don't have a game to play because there is no punishment for being forced to eat 16 pallets. The whole thing becomes Pallet Sim 2020.

Although I rarely get forced to eat all 16 pallets, usually its about 10 because 7-8 minute average game times. Who gives a shite about deadzones when the game is literally in EGC.

No, the worst teams camp pallets. Looping wastes far more time than camping pallets. Enduring, Spirit Fury, Brutal strength literally punish camping pallets. And the deadzones in Endgame Collapse are terrible for a team if the killer has NOED. I'm pretty sure you're one of the only people who thinks it's broken.

Camping pallets literally punishes itself if the killer runs perks to punish, or heck, even if the killer is smart enough to push people into deadzones. Billy, Mike and Oni would love pallet campers... I don't know what you're on about.

  • @MadLordJack said:

In the future? Absolutely, without a doubt. Once matchmaking and maps are fixed, and camping pallets is punished, bloodlust can go.

Camping pallets punishes itself? Since you're wasting pallets basically and giving the killer the opportunity to create a massive deadzone?

  • @White_Owl said:

Don't start chases in the early game. Even if finding survivors is very tempting, your top priority is to create a "web" of traps that will make future chases much shorter. Also try to always have as many traps active as possible, even if it takes time. Their effect can easily compensate for the time lost.

Yeah, she ends chases way faster than any other killer with a full web if set well...

  • Hag's the third best killer (yes I consider her stronger than Billy, Freddy and Oni) in my opinion, I think she's incredible and at base (no addons) she can effortlessly lock down half the map. With Hag, you can just defend one half of map's gens and shut down all loops and the survivors will HAVE to come into it to win, to which they'll definitely lose since you can snowball them.

Perks to use that make her a massive threat are:

STBFL (she can tp everywhere and get fast hits), Thanatophobia (she injures people easily and this is the best quirk to delay the game for her), Sloppy butcher (very good with Thanatophobia), Ruin (saves time slapping gens), Corrupt intervention (force them there at the start), A Nurses Calling (a must have with her), Hex the Third seal (if you wanna slug, cause she's one of the best chasers), and Hex Devour hope (because she gets hooks very easily) and some more that I can't think of at the top of my head.

Some advice if you do get her is not to chase survivors when they get out of your setup (which Hag mains call 'Web'), since you ARE 110% MS and they will loop you bad, don't be afraid to let them take 1 half of the map, protect the other fiercely, and also trap routes and chokepoints as well as loops to be unpredictable, which makes you dangerous. but, if you face a flashlight matchup, it hurts you a lot, but you might win if you're tactical (I've beat flashlight SWF in the past, but I had to REALLY tryhard and think ahead, it was luck).

I think you'd enjoy her though! Oh, she's also not map dependant, has good maps, but no real bad ones.

  • I think survivors have been feeling more sluggish since Oni's release on console and PC. I'm not sure what it is about their movements, but on console or PC, it feels super sluggish. (My mouse sensitivity is the same as always fyi)

  • Why was this revived?

  • @Shocktober said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1232207#Comment_1232207

I don't like nurses on her without monitor or sloppy. It means you see them at 28m but have a 24m terror radius. Without sloppy you are realistically only going to get any use out of it by beelining back to unhooks and hoping they are healing nearby (which they usually are).

STBFL is kinda meh on her imo, and is meh in general, since it is really only good for getting rapid hits in succession which will usually only happen against red rank survivors when you are camping hooks.

BBQ is also meh, mainly good for bloodpoints. But if you are looking to 3-4k, I think thrilling is better for perfect information when combined with pop.

If you are running surveillance you may as well run ruin as well, it's one of the best combo's for a high mobility killer. Spirit has OK mobility basekit but turns high-mobility with add-ons. I usually use it on Freddy or maybe with an indoor map offering on a stealth killer. Ruin + Surveillance + Sloppy is very good for shoving people off gens and playing an attrition game.

I'd recommend finding a place for stridor, many red rank survivors will be running iron will and not being able to quickly nail them with your power if they are walking can be crippling.

Stridor disorientates me because they seem closer than they are, I'm not new to Spirit either, I listen out for the footsteps or grass if they got iron will. I'm rusty, yes, but walking doesn't really work on me.

Imagine calling Oni Kazan but not calling Spirit Rin.

Spirit is focused on mobility and fast chases so yes slugging is often the optimal play. Oni's power is the same, plus you lose it when you pick up a survivor.

I meant to write Oni, but I accidentally wrote Kazan, I just prefer that name to 'The Oni'.

  • It looks broken on paper, but could be niche in practice, I'd love to see it in a PTB though.

Oni yes, spirit not really. The cookie cutter build for oni is infectious + monitor so you can slug hardcore during your power activation.

Spirit I feel like has enough chase potential and mobility she can just pop goes gens after every hook for her pressure.

I run Surveillance, STBFL, A Nurses calling and BBQ though for Spirit. Should I switch one for Pop goes the weasel?

Safe the best for last is totally meta and so is Nurses calling. Surveillance is debateable.

It's meta now? Wow a lot has changed lol. It's godlike for slugging.

  • I don't see it as toxic... But that might be because I do it a lot, but I sometimes see it as the only way to counter genrush.

  • He's fun to play as and against, can buggy at times, but still great. He's also pretty good as a killer.

  • For survivor, I use Lithe (non meta), Resilience (meta?), Spine chill (not sure about this) and Iron will (meta).

As Spirit, I use STBFL (non meta), BBQ (meta), A Nurses calling (I think it's meta, I'm not sure though) and Surveillance (non meta).

Lithe always helps me win, since it's really good for preserving pallets. STBFL is amazing as Spirit, and I slug an absurd amount so allows me to down survivors really fast. Surveillance I like to use for tracking gens and survivors, it's definitely one of the best for me.

I think Bloodlust should absolutely go away in the future, but we need time to see how the map changes end up working, while also fixing some maps that were missing in the last update. You can't drop a million different changes at once, like they explained in the stream. You need to make changes gradually to be able to see what effect they have, while also keeping the ability to observe which changes produce which results.

Hag is really hard to play good. You can't just pick her up and do well, u less you resort to camping. Optimized hags are top 4. Map pressure, chases being really short and her only downside being slower. Yes you can crouch over her traps, but it makes getting away from the hook take that much longer

Also, best basement defense in the game. She can leave and apply pressure without camping like Bubba has to

I legit picked her up in 2 days (but after watching tons of vids on her) and did extremely well at R1 for months... Some can pick her up easily, it's all about knowing when to do something and when not to. I know all about how good she is, which is why I'm surprised why she's being ranked lower than Billy.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1224949#Comment_1224949

    Exactly this.

The original SB had a 30s cooldown ans recovered while running so looping around one object it could be ready to use again. There is no way it is stronger than it was as a 3s sprint on demand once while in a chase doesn't beat being able to use over and over at every good loopable spot.

That not even mentioning how you could use SB and BL independently so you had two 3s sprints on a short cooldown along with no stagger all game.

Omg that combo was godlike lol, I remember everyone abusing it.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

Not sure about what you could do as both powers are different.

The trappers traps can still be disarmed even without a toolbox and you can escape them. Toolboxes also removed the trappers power originally and even when they could respawn it took some time.

The Hag can set her traps anytime and has an umilited amount on demand even if she can only set 10 at once, can teleport to them so has map pressure. She can set multiple around hooks and areas much easier than the trapper as he needs an addon to do that. Without being able to remove or disable them the basement would be worse for example even though you can crouch over them its painfully slow. What you don't want is to make it easier for the Hag to soft patrol camp.

Maybe instead of flashlights removing them they could instead just highlight them and any survivor can wipe them away with a timed cleansing animation of say 3s? That way its disarming them for saves but it isn't something you can do while looping with a flashlight as it is now.

Yeah, actually flashlights reveal them and the survivors do an animation would be quite good, I can see that working.

    @Aven_Fallen said:

While it is true that the Flashlight can burn the Traps, I dont think it is that much of a deal. Even with a purple Flashlight and Add Ons it can run out of Battery pretty fast (maximum with green Battery and Low Amp Filament are 20ish seconds, if I remember correctly). And, the Survivors cannot prepare for a Killer by bringing Flashlights, because they dont know that they are playing vs a Hag, while the Killer can either equip Franklins or change the Killer.

And when a Survivor finds a Flashlight in a Chest, they are gone even faster, because of no Add Ons.

However, I would totally trade this ability and give a few Buffs to Hag (like faster Setting Speed, longer Range), if Traps would not trigger while walking over them...

I'm not a dev, so I don't know how the trading would be balanced, but longer range could actually be the way to go, as Hag would become less addon reliant (she is addon reliant a bit). But I do think the animation idea is better, as it gives flashlights utility, and also helps Hag at loops against a flashlighter.

No. It was random. You cant predict when killer is going to down you. SB on demand is better since you can use it whenever you want.

No, that's not possible. It was never buffed, it got a fat nerf, hence why Dead Hard is so meta now. SB being random made it really strong, as killers would have almost caught up to you, and BOOM out of nowhere, you get a Sprint Burst, they lose bloodlust 3, and you make it to another pallet to loop them for another minute.

SB on demand is much weaker than SB back then, as SB back then was very strong in the hands of a skilled survivor.

That may be bad for some people like your case which i can see merging a file helping but thatd be a lot harder to program, but what about people who poured so much money into one platform then they choose to switch and get punished for it? I’m sorry but i’d never spend another dollar on this game if they willingly choose not to add cross save as a way of making more money cause we all know we aren’t paying for less bugs its just pretty skins and battle pass

I think it should be a thing tbh, for your case. My case is fine actually, I like to switch between PC and Xbox.

Were you a quentin by chance? I've only had this happen to me once, and i was playing as him.

I think it happened bc i spawned in the shack w a meg who wasn't moving for a bit. I was kinda drunk, so i tbagged around til she woke up. Y not? I move along and find a claudette working on a gen.

I accidentally blow the gen.. these two hooligans proceed to just follow me around 4 the rest off the match just blocking me and getting me downed lol.

They even got the killer to join in! They just raise and unhook me over and over.. it was bizarre. I guess he had farmed before..

So ya either mistook me for griefer or just cause i was quentin. This was months ago and still the most odd survivor match I've ever had.

Was a Kate. She might've had something against Kates XD. It was a good game aside from her. I'd have got the Win too if she didn't get in my way.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

No, I wouldn't say this is normal, but I have experienced it. Every now and then you get someone who just follows you around instead of doing any objectives to show the killer where you are. I had a match one time where two teammates who were playing together stood in front of a 99'd door handle while I was in a chase at the end and refused to open the door - I got downed and they left. IMO it seems like griefing or teaming, but I don't know if it's actually reportable.

When I play killer and see people purposely causing their teammates grief or farming them off hooks purposefully unsafely, I just go for the guy being the #########. I don't go for the poor person who obviously has no control over what their ######### teammates are doing. LOL

Yeah, I'm the exact same as killer. But this Oni probably didn't even know (I depipped a lot in my absence so it's low ranks) so I can't have expected him NOT to tunnel me, also I did run him around pretty bad.

Literally did nothing but get chased all game by an Oni in his mode thingy, never seen her before either... I think he just wanted points and ruined my experience for it.

But you're right about moving on, I was just really curious if it's common nowadays.

  • Tbh, I have different stuff on both accounts... My XBOX one is essentially maxed, and has all the items, but some DLC's that my PC one doesn't, and my PC one has the Spirit and Clown DLC...
