I was in a game against PH and they put down the wire and kept picking us up and dropping us to make us get the status effect. The status effect is supposed to make people not want to go through the barbed wire by punishing them, but what's the point in avoiding it now if the killer can make you get the effect

like is this supposed to be a thing or is this an exploit or something like that?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqFtLxpOB4M

No it isn't ,it is intentional feature when you drop a survivor ,survivor will get more struggle in bar and they get 5 seconds stun you can easily find a loop in that time

I just had a game against not so bad survivors but still managed to get them all in the end (even tho the last kill was just luck).

During that game a player that was hooked by me and a few secs later unhooked has been downed by me again (I had the option between a full health and an already hit survivor). Bcs during the last matches I went up against a lot of red-rank players and therefore those matches were quite bad, I choose already hit player.

As far as I get it by now this can be considered tunneling. But is it bannable?

Tunneling, camping, slugging, genrushing, teabagging, flashlight clicking isn't bannable offense only thing that is bannable is when survivors are toxic for you in the post game chat, same applies for the killer.

  • i Like how this post is above post about how twins/freddy are boring

I haven't had one get the chance to heal after it's initial use. They usually try to hide and get found immediately because I tend to look exactly where I saw them running.

i just answered his question , anyway wraith with all seeing blood is huge counter to them and i also does not think lucky break is op especially for killers like deathslinger or nurse which can almost insta down you if you make a mistake

  • @DbD_Enjoyer said:

Doesnt it only works once per match? If thats the case, idk why ppl would call it OP...

if they heal up the timer stops and you can activate it again with shorter timer

Definitely think it’s a server issue or something else. He can look down when cloaked to avoid the flashlight, but when he’s breaking a pallet the flashlight still acts funky. I have had no issues with any other killer so that’s why I’m so confused why flashlights on wraith feels so clunky. From him breaking pallets to him picking up a survivor the flashlight usually just doesn’t do anything.

maybe his animation of breaking the pallet is glitched

I only hop on this game once in awhile and the last 3 times I tried to play this year. I had to verify my integrity. It feels like every time there's an update something else breaks. Has anyone else had to do this every time they try to play after a break?

Yep i have the same problem "eac client cannot be created" the game found some files in my directory even tho i didn't install anything

  • @GrimReaperJr1232 said:

No. I'll just straight-up say it. No.

The reason you don't see DS is that it's not a great anti-tunnel perk. A killer who wants to tunnel does not care for a 5-sec stun if they're even one of the killers that even cares about it (ex: Nurse, Blight, and Spirit couldn't care less).

Why is it so rare now? Old DS had the assurance that the killer couldn't do a thing to you. DS can start another length chase, destroy the killer's pressure, and easily cause the killer to lose games if he didn't respect DS on each and every survivor after an unhook, meaning they could repair in a killer's face and they couldn't punish it.

This assurance is gone. The immunity to punishment after an unhook or popping a gen in a killer's face is also gone. All that's there is the anti-tunnel aspect.

As it turns out? Killers don't often tunnel. The rule is to go after the unhooker; it's more prudent and more enjoyable for both sides. The only time you go after the person unhooked is 1) they body block with BT, 2) they do a gen or something in your face 3) you can't find the unhooker because they didn't take the aggro for them.

The 1st one has the survivor asking for it (and DS would still be up). The 2nd is the survivor doing the objective, meaning you feel that you're in a comfortable enough position that if the killer shows up to stop you, you'll have an escape plan. The 3rd sucks, but that's on your teammate.

Now, I WOULD be open the following changes

1 - DS now only creates an obsession after being used instead of at the start (similar to Nemesis).

    2 - Make it usable after a 2nd unhook.

I would never consider reversing the nerfs done to it, however. It was nerfed for a reason.

You know that tunneling is integral part of the game and without it many games would be lost if tunneling would be toxic the devs would remove it from the game and you are saying that 5seconds stun almost does nothing if survivor does not know how to use this time in that time you can easily go for 1 loop and go to the shack and loop killer for more than a minute i atleast agrees with that the obssesion should be after the ds strike but it should still make you have higher chance on being the obsession when killer has obsession and if DS would be 2 times use some of his aspect should have been nerfed like smaller skillcheck similiar to borrowed time

  • @jester20k said:

Ds in its current form should:

    1) work on both hook states and

    2) be default, not a perk

You have to use up a perk slot just in case the killer is a douche? How about no.

So when survivors are bodyblocking it isn't douche but when killer does something similiar ohohoho "######### tunneler camper noob" so maybe we will add mad grit as a default for killers what do you think about that it it your teammates problem that they unhooked you in the not safe position i am not saying that bodyblocking is douche but by your logic it is so we should as mad grit as defult

Can anyone explain why this game is 5 times more frustrating at night? I feel like I can't play this game past 7 PM

Yeah i literally get cheater/lagswitcher but somehow i managed to slug them even tho he haved the soulguard + no mither

  • Lets back up to our main subject ,and as i agreed that the toxicity of some players are huge but most of the time i see solo Q boosted survivors that does not know how to play the game that are complaining about killer camping or tunneling even if it is their own fault .Most of the SWF groups i face on rank 1 does not trashtalk me just treats my with ggwp and then we leave the post game chat so i dont think thats the problem with SWF but rather problem with some survivors with huge ego.And not only survivors are toxic there are so many toxic killers that harass you for no reason but i know teabagging and flashlight clicking isn't fun but you need to get used to it and just do best of your work to succeed.

When we talk about social interactions and humans is like this and its cool discuss, now for the things impossible to change they reside in our unconscious, we dont take nottice at first, but when they come out we realize thats toughts, they have to go to your conscious to come into action, in that moment you alter ego, the social regulator will judge if its right or not do that, and then, its up to you realize or not.

I didn't sayed that it isn't good that we talk about this things i just sayed that it is funny that this discussion started about the "toxicity" in the game and probably ended with talk about human nature

You can call nature and don't try to change it, but things that we share from our ancestors dont define us, we have the possibilty to take notice this is wrong and change it, dont matter that the other dont do it because the give excuses like "its nature of human being", you have control of all your acts, and if u dont wanna change-it ok, but u can.

Even if you would tried to change it you could not, we do not have control of most of our actions this is not "our" thing it is that is build into us that we cannot change .As i said even if you would try you have to atleast have control of your 50% cells which is almost impossible becuse most of our actions are throught our survival instinct and idk how this discussion went from talking about stupid game that i lost few hours on from talking about something that is build into humans that we cannot change

didn't i just today make a thread/post about how camping tunneling and slugging are not tactics but rather the equivalent of survivors dcing if they get hit before the first gen pops?

Alright, how about we all take a deep breath.

    Here's the thing:

If you play, regardless which side, and you think any unfair tactic is 'justified' because the game doesn't actively punish it, do some soulsearching, people. ask yourself why winning at all costs is so important to you, and why you deem humiliating 'wins' to be the best out of all.

Explain me how is teabagging unfair, game does not punish you for doing it becuse it isn't in any way unfair or toxic as i said if teabagging would be unfair or toxic the devs would have already "nerfed" it or make it bannable as well as tunneling and camping.do some soulsearching, people you are probably the guys that humiliated baby bubba and you are talking us about soulsearching what can i do humiliating is part of the humans that we cannot change our ancestors did that we did that and we accept it.And when did i said that humiliating wins are the best ,but still it is true as i said this is the part of the humans and we could not change it.If for example in team fortress 2 you get achievment for ragequit of dominated person why does the people play this game you know why becuse people like humiliating others as i said it is part of our humans nature

  • What do you mean by word "Emotes" ,taunts like in TF2,Something similiar to winking animation of trickster ,emotes for survivors

If you mean that First :I will disagree with that

If you mean the second :i will agree

If you mean the third:i will disagree becuse the emotes that we already has are enought

You know that's how colonial powers justified fighting people who had spears and arrows with rifles and cannons... aka it's a #########, selfish mindset and not a 'strategy' unless you are scum

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2158313#Comment_2158313

is trying to make someone with higher skill than you make a mistake a tactic? there actually yes.

is it one when you know the person is weaker. no.

    this isn't rocketscience.

but you know, this mindset is in part to blame for the lack of balance.

But alright: Do tell me something: How often do you use that 'tactic' against weaker players and afterwards tell them how to do better (if you can use the chat)

Firstly you didn't read even half of my post .I telled there that i am not using this tactic or if i using it i do it rarely on killers that for example taunt you on the hook only becuse you looped him for few gens without doing anything that is consider "toxic" on this forum i wanna to let them taste their own medicine.Again by your logic if good killer is using tactic for example camping ,tunneling on not the best survivors they do not have skill .And no i dont tell anybody how they should play just type them ggwp and then leave unless the killer is shi talking so i can make fun of them .And firstly if you are blaming anyone for the lack of the balance maybe its time to look on yourself and then evaluate others. And if you want to ask no i aint survivor main i mostly play killer but i play survivors only in the days i want to chill off becuse i get so much stressed after playing the killer.

    You answered your own question:

teabagging and flashlight clicking is imo really good strategy becuse you can in the easy way piss of not experienced killer so they can make more mistakes.

AKA you want someone you know is less experienced than you feel bad so that you can 'win' and pretend you won through skill.

What can i do thats how tactic works ,but every tactic has a counter the counter to this tactic is staying calm and not panicking and no i dont want to anyone to feel bad only becuse they were taunted in the video game i rarely even do that becuse as any tactic it has downsides .and how did you compare tactic to being good ,and yes if i teabagged a killer and then i win it is a skill it .By your logic if for example really good killer like i dunno Otzdarva or someone even better than him uses hook tunneling tactic or camping they aren't skilled ?

  • @KblokoBR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2158267#Comment_2158267

You can call this a strategy and i can call camping and tunneling too, the fact is thats strategies is not fun only, and contributes to toxicity.

Becuse camping and tunneling is the legitimate strategy thats why devs didn't removed it .If one of this things were toxic the devs would removed it ,thats why devs added profanity control becuse it was toxic to call someone " Fcking tunneling bitc"

  • @KblokoBR said:

The toxicity of the SWfs squads are no longer talked about the owns survs, they just complain about how killers get buffed, how killers are toxic, ignoring the fact that they contributes to that, clicking lanters, T baging, quitting the game, complaining about """"tunneling"""" or """"camping"""" when u dont do it at all in the game, using this just to get a reason to cry and dump they anger in others instead of try get better. Unless the fact that some of they think the killer has the obligation to entertain themselfs, trash talking when u bring expose perks to make quick chases.

While people have fun in the cost of others people's misfortune, the game never gonna get less toxic, and the devs seem to not care about it.

How is teabagging or flashlight clicking toxic, the only thing that is toxic is taking a fictional game based on horror to the real world and talking shi to the others, the teabagging and flashlight clicking is imo really good strategy becuse you can in the easy way piss of not experienced killer so they can make more mistakes.I saw a lot of SWF groups that respect me when i win the game against them most of the toxicity come from the bad players that have ego higher than the mount Everest

  • @Ke1py said:

So recently I have been going against a lot of wraiths and have noticed something. Whenever I flashlight him when he is cloaked he does not get stunned nor revealed. I have also noticed that he is a lot harder to flashlight for some reason. Every other killer I can easily blind when they are breaking a pallet, but with wraith my flashlight does not seem to work. None of the wraiths I went up against had lightborn either so I’m not sure if they changed wraith recently or something.

I dont think they did ,it may be an issue with server connection maybe wraith was exploiting bug or something or you could not have hit the wraith with flashlight but i didn't saw any changes with the flashlight against wraith or maybe he was just looking into the ground which is common tactic against flashlight

  • @Kebek said:

Or at least fix the bug that gives survivors free keys from chests every game. It's getting really annoying you know.

I've played 7 games today, none had keys in lobby, 4 of those games survivors found random key(s) in chests.

Just scrap whatever you've worked on for the last 6+ months and just raise 1 number for the hatch spawn to 5 gens like you just raised 1 number with mori changes or iri heads and it did wonders. Seriously, I doubt all the waiting will be worth the result.

Pretty good job so far you're doing I must say.

Ok, rant done, I feel much better now.

They are probably collectin the data about how keys affect escapes ratio becuse i dont belive that programer gived higher chance to spawn keys in the chest without the reason so it probably will be changed soon so do not worry

Yes. Not that hard. Even tho, this is mainly because Spirit is stupid strong, not because I am good.

    @Topic:

If you have problem with Tracking, you can use Stridor, this will counter Iron Will and Lucky Break will be mainly useless, if you can still hear the Survivor via sounds.

1 Perk Slot to counter 2 Perks from the Survivor sounds like a good deal.

I think spirit is only overpowered on rank 20 or in the rank 1 with boosted solo teammates nurse is a lot stronger than spirit becuse you can end chases in like 10 seconds even if survivor isn't stupid .You can ofc end chases so quickly with the spirit but the survivor needs to do a lot of mistakes ,which obviously good survivors wont do them very often. Most of the games i play against spirit are 2k or 4 man escape becuse she is focused to much on the one survivor and other survivors can pressure gens really really fast

  • @Zozzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2158013#Comment_2158013

Ever play spirit against good survivors with iron will and no stridor?

as long as both perks exist, a killer that can't see and is all about sound IS forced to use it.

I look forward to your rebuttal that proves me wrong with facts.

Spirit isnt all about sound you can see grass moving you can predict survivor movement and no you aren't forced to use stridor perks are for this, you should use them if you want to have better efficiency on killer power as well as survivor perks are used to worsen killer powers

  • @edgardot02 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2158002#Comment_2158002

i think noed its an unfair perk and it needs a rework but if lucky break goes live Im gonna start using noed as if it was a fair perk

I didn't asked you if noed is balanced perk i asked you why do you think the iron will is unbalanced

  • @edgardot02 said:

with lucky break you wont be able to see scratch marks

with iron will you are not able to hear injured surviviors

only one perk more, do the killer can't move for 30 seconds and we wont be able to use our hands

I main killer, and I use stridor with all my killers because I think it's the only way to counter iron will (unbalanced perk) I have to use it for the mere fact iron will exist because if nobody has equiped iron will I have a 1/4 perk slot wasted. Now with the upcoming update to lucky break things are gonna be worst for new killers trying to enjoy this game. why devs think this would be a good idea?

rework spirit so we can know when is facing

and remove iron will and stridor perks from the game.

    thanks

How is Iron will unbalanced.By your logic NOED ,Pop ,rancor is also unbalanced. They are literally waste one perk slot for it .

I've never played this game and I don't intend on getting it, but I've been looking at both lithe and sprint burst, and all I see from them, is that you can activate sprint burst at anytime, but you can only use lithe when you fast vault, so why would you ever pick lithe?

You activate sprint burst when you start running , walking isn't so effective so you need to waste your sprint burst on the start of the game you get exhaustion status that does not do anything execpt of course wasting your other exhaustion perks the exhaustion effect disappear after about a minute but you need to stand still to exhaustion to start resetting becuse when you run the exhaustion effect does not disappear you can 99% it so when you are on the loop and you are forced to drop the pallet escape to the another loop/tile when killer is breaking a pallet

So I just started playing a little over a month ago. About one out of every three games as killer (at rank 8 right now) I come up against a SWF sweat squad. Just played against one; naturally, they were all higher ranked than me (one was rank 1, the other two were 6 and 8). Early game (the first five minutes) I got six downs. And every time I picked one of them up, 1-2 of them would be there to flashlight stun me, break a hook, etc. All of that's par for the course.

That doesn't bother me that much, it's part of the game mechanics. What bothered me was that there were four different times over the course of a 15ish minute game where one or more of them bodyblocked a hook. The last time it happened was right next to an open gate at the endgame, so there was no benefit to me getting two of them injured; they basically just stole a hook from me as I see it.

I realize bodyblocking occurs all the time. It happens in about a third of the SWF groups I play against. I've also noticed that it's reportable, which makes me think that, whether or not anyone is actually ever punished for doing it, it's at least considered "against the rules" to the degree that the game has rules.

So why is it even a mechanic that's allowed? Why, as the killer, do I even have collision with survivors while I am carrying one of them? Since all killers can effortlessly hoist any of the survivors onto their shoulder and walk great distances like that, why is it that those same survivors can prevent me from walking another six inches forward to reach the hook? There's no way that any of them ought to be strong enough to prevent any killer from moving forward a few inches.

I know I'm new and I should probably just git gud, and that bodyblocking has been around forever. But... why?

This is just a normal tactic aswell as tunneling ,camping thats why BEhaviour allow that in game

I can think of 1 super simple fix that would make it still pretty strong but survivors are no longer untrackable gods now just much harder to track.

It might go completely against its old ue but just bring back blood. It is really just that easy in my opinion. It is still useful as blood i a lot harder to track especially on certain maps and you have to be able to see the ground unlike scratches which appear on walls. It is a good change imo as experienced killer who already know how to trakcblood will have that skill payed off more and even if new players are struggling against it bloodhound now has a use.

Survivors should bleed and their blood should glow red something similiar to bloodhound effect

I see. I've only seen "tunneling" described as obsessively going after one survivor and one survivor only, to the point that if they do it to you in more than once match they can supposedly be banned for it. That's the only definition I've seen but I agree that it may not be the only definition that people have for it.

If "tunneling" can also mean "immediately going back for the person that was hooked" then man, I get tunneled way more than I thought I did. :P

I am half of the time being called toxic for downing the survivor that was healing under the hook

  • @miketheratguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2138864#Comment_2138864

I think you're swapping "tunneling" with chasing. Every killer can, and should, make it a priority to grab a survivor if they see one. Tunneling is a little different as it implies that the killer is only going after one specific survivor, even at the dismissal of other survivors. I've had that happen to me. I've been on a gen with two or three other people yet the killer goes for me, and only for me, despite the fact that they'd already chased me earlier. There are multiple other targets right there, but they have chosen to isolate me as if I'm their obsession and they'll get more points for it. THAT is frustrating.

As for not playing solo queues, some people don't have a choice. I don't, only two of my friends are interested in this game and they don't play it anywhere near as often as I do. I have no choice but to play with randoms.

There's a few definiton of tunneling the one that you are here using is chasing down one specific survivor the one that i am using here is chasing the survivor that has been recently unhooked .

That does not mean your definition is bad or something .

About that SWF i know a lot of people does not have ability to play with friends but if you are playing solo's you need to understand that not every survivor is going to be like top tier survivor player

I was playing with my friend, and we get to the point where I said you can't run fun builds, because this. And no, I can't predict which killer will tunnel me and which not. Body blocking as I can tell is counted as protective hit after all.

"and we get to the point where I said you can't run fun builds"-And this is true i 100% agrees with it if you dont use meta perks you will probably lose against good killer if you want to have fun in this game the other side also needs to wanna have fun.

"Body blocking as I can tell is counted as protective hit after all"-Even tho bodyblocking is still annoying tactic for other side.
