It is possible to nerf addons without making them useless you know

not for bhvr, every time they nerfed an addon they destroyed it

  • right, make another ultra-rare addon so bad nobody will use it like most of them on majority of killers

if the totem is in a dead zone then it’s not going to get much value is it… but hey just laugh because I thought that video was funny, every one needs to lighten up

not like you can just run there, heal in 8 seconds and if killer comes you just take a hit and run somewhere safer and then come back if you won't get downed wasting even more time for the killer

  • @JohnWeak said:

Dear fellow friends, we all know that the game balance is terrible at the moment and that's impossible to win a trial properly without camping and tunneling at high MMR.

But i want to tell you that we are also responsible of this situation 😐️. Indeed, using cheap mechanics as camping and tunneling just to get our win (3k+) or to secure a draw (2k) is a terrible idea as statistics are artificially tweaked to 2k average doing so.

So here is what we HAVE TO do :

    • Start a trial keeping in mind that you cannot win against survivors at your real MMR level
    • Never camp and nor tunnel
    • Do not use NOED
    • Play fair no matter what and try to get as many hooks as possible
    • If you have the choice between a fresh survivor or a survivor that has already been hooked, go for the fresh one
    • Accept to loose 80%+ of your trials

This will result in terrible stats and show how unbalanced the game is. If the average kills is between 0,8 and 1,2, BHVR will see how terrible is the killer's experience and that they have to fix the balance.

ATM, we, the killer community, are comforting the devs in their idea that the game is pretty balanced as it is (50% kill rate).

If we continue to camp and tunnel to get our usual 2k+, we will have to stick with this garbage game design for years as the developers will never hear our voice.

If as a killer you want BETTER and FUNNIER trials, start to loose most of them and play as the game should be played : patrolling gens and chasing survivors.

DO NOT CAMP, DO NOT TUNNEL.

none of this is any players fault, only devs can ######### the game up like this and they did

and your conditions might not be fun for everyone, so worthless post really

I actually had issues with bad hooks lately a lot, I wonder if they did some changes...

    The Deathslinger

    • The Deathslinger must now wait for the Enter Aim animation to complete before being able to fire (0.4 seconds)
    • The Deathslinger must now wait for the Exit Aim animation to complete before being able to attack (0.6 seconds)
    • Increased movement speed when aiming down sights to 85% (was 75%)
    • The cooldown when a survivor breaks free is now the same duration as a successful hit cooldown
    • Increased terror radius to 32 meters (was 24 meters)
    • Add-on – Gold Creek Whiskey: Removed movement speed penalty
    • Add-on – Marshal’s Badge: Removed movement speed penalty
    • Add-on – Iridescent Coin: Decreased range requirement to 12 meters (was 15 meters)
    • Add-on – Wanted Poster: Decreased movement speed while aiming to 2.5% (was 10%)
    • Add-on – Jaw Smasher: Decreased movement speed while aiming to 1% (was 5%)
    • Reworked Add-on – Hellshire Iron: When a Survivor is speared, gain Undetectable. The effect persists for 10 seconds after the Survivor is no longer speared.

Most of these are changes in rarity not a nerf in fact most of them are BUFFS! Unless you can't read it's obvious that you are bad at playing Deathslinger.

idk why people like you only see if smth is a buff or nerf, but never check how big of a buff/nerf the change is...

    irrelevant

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    So:

    • blessing a hex totem takes 24 seconds
    • cleansing a hex totem takes 14 seconds (like a dull totem)

So what is about it? Boon totems really did nothing to affect your hex perks. Only now that survivor can have their affects but your hex are still fine

hex should only be removed if the totem is destroyed

survivor perk simply overwriting killer perk and killer perks like noed can't override survivor perks is just not right

killer perk should always trump survivor perk of the same type such as totems or iron will/stridor

  • @FFirebrandd said:

This isn't a nerf. It supports a different playstyle. It uses all your traps for delay at the beginning when you need it most but it does make head pops very unlikely. To be honest, all Iri Addons should be playstyle shifts instead of massive buffs.

Agreed that this one is not a nerf, but still, since this takes away all your traps I'd put it on green rarity tops. Survivors can take them off before you even get you first chase on some maps.

  • @Regulus47 said:

All I'm seeing is a salty player who sends salt.in chat. I would understand if you were playing plague or legion but nemesis is really strong so idk. You have ruin Undying with zombies so I don't think the game went as fast as you say

zombies AI is pretty derpy and fully random, I have games with nemesis where they never chase survivors off the gen

also nemesis is pretty weak, 3 hits with tentacle absolutely destroy the killer on higher lvl play

Thats what I call a sweaty swf team. They even used a cake + my party streamer and they still rushed the gens and tried to escape as fast as possible, ofc with classic teabags, flash light clicks only at the exit gate. I couldve try to go for kills by camping and tunneling but as I saw the cake so I wanted to go just for points and try to hook everyone for my bbq stacks. Ofc they took advantage of that and played the most efficiant way as possible by pushing the gens and finished the game therefore in 6min.

I am not saying survivors are not allowed to play sweaty or should try to win. What I am saying is if there are 2 BPS boosters in the game and the killer is clearly not going for tryhard and is even not playing a meta killer and you still try to genrush with the best set up of items in your entire team stacked and still teabagg at the gate and then insult the killer in the endgame chat (I took the screenshot without the insults cuz I dont want to make these ppl look too bad in the forums) that I am bad and should uninstall the game then this is very sad imo.

Tbf this is nothing really new, we know that sweaty swf squads exist. My point of this threat is why ppl play like that? How can ppl feel "superior" by absolutely rushing the game even though you used a BP offering against a mid tier killer. Also I am suprised that grps like that even play against these kind of Killers, I know that I have max MMR with Nemesis but idk how BHVR thinks that this is "fair" in any way.

Like seriously, we had 2 chases and the game was done xD

that is honestly pretty chill, they don't even have dead hard, unbreakables and iron will and only 1 medkit

  • @Pulsar said:

Fix their AI, then we'll talk.

Half-decent Survivors know how to get them stuck.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2564667#Comment_2564667

Having a bunch of perks doesn't mean they're sweaty. If by chill you mean rank 20 bill crouching in corner with urban evasion then yeah though luck

this specific combination is in 99% scenarios used by players that end the game in 5 minutes

  • @Freddy96 said:

You get sweaty players only if you play sweaty in the first place.

I play without any gen slowdowns and i get sweaty teams once every 10 matches which i will lose against and i will get chill teams again

not true, I took off most of the strong slowdowns quite a while ago and yet i still verse the same teams: dead hard, unbreakable, iron will + medkit

  • @legacycolt said:

Im glad they removed killer switch because that way we get more killer variety and not „oh, I’m assuming they are experienced so let me switch to nurse real quick“.

yeah thanks to mmr you don't have to assume, you know that if you won't pick blight or nurse you get demolished

  • @Nathan13 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2558478#Comment_2558478

How can survivors heal mid chase though unless if they have that ultra rare medkit add on?

takes around 8 seconds even with brown medkit and some addons if you are in boon totem radius

even without boon totems survivors with strong medkits can heal in less than 20 seconds

  • simply the fact that killer hexes do not override the boon when they spawn is laughable, they made survivor perk that yet again fully counters killer's version of the perk

also not even mentioning the fact that survivors can just heal mid chase and the fact that sounds for those totems are not even working well, you have to look at the exact direction of the totem to hear it and also be super super close and walls make it worse

  • @LordSturm said:

yeah, they saw clown's bottles and they were like "wouldn't it be funny if you had to stand completely still while charging this, then aim and fire like deathslinger, and even if you hit you accomplish basically nothing?"

like if you miss it's an utter catastrophe, because half the time the chain flies off into another timezone forcing you to stand still while it does so

but even if you hit, you spent so much time standing still that the slow is fairly pointless

we literally had this exact same problem with Clown and how he slowed himself while throwing the bottle, and they were like "wouldn't it be funny if we took that and it was worse"

if you know you will miss, aim it to the ground or into some obstacle

but yeah i agree the chains suck, box is everything

  • There are multiple things that are now really bad on slinger.

The biggest issue is his terror radius being increased, survivors will now just hold W before slinger can even get close to them and thanks to his limited range he won't be able to get a hit just as fast as he did before. There was simply no reason to increase his terror radius.

The second change that removed quick scoping made using his power feel super terrible, and survivors also have a lot of time to react now. Also turning with aim down sights is super clunky and annoying to use, they should have removed the camera movement restriction.

Addon's still mostly suck, reload is obvious choice.

So there is basically no reason to play the killer, even trickster will do better than slinger.

  • @CrazyMage said:

    Title

His anti-loop is garbage, but the chain hunt power is super strong, however you need hoarder and franklins or at least one of those or range addons to interrupt survivor who is solving the box. However on big maps, no matter what perks or addons you have, you mostlikely won't catch up to the survivor with the box if its too far away and that happens quite often.

So small map + hoarder + franklins + solve time increase addon is the best you can do with him, however his chase power is just bad so you just play for that 1v4 and that basically let's you win the game if you can do it over and over again.

Also engineer's fang together with the other stuff makes him really good both in chase and 1v4, without that addon however you won't do much against good survivors chase-wise. Iridescent box addon has basically the same impact but it add's even more to his 1v4 instead of 1v1.

But we'll make it exists, 100% healing others for 90 seconds after unhooking. And i still rarely see it used for some reason.

its 100% healing speed + self care, permanent, can place again if destroyed

4 survivors using it and u cover the whole map = hex perk range

  • @Bumbus said:

Just think about it. MMR is balancing your games so you get 50% killrate. Whatever you bring in your games, whatever perks you use, this will be true. So, if you are struggling in your games and don't get any kills - you will get lower MMR and more chill games. However, if you are struggling in your games, but cheese some kills in the end through your perk - your MMR won't get lower. The matchmaking thinks you just had an easy victory, and gives you even more skilled opponents in your next game. And then you have to cheese your kills again. It is a self-sustaining cycle.

Just a thought I wanted to share. I just realized this and dropped NOED from all my builds.

Apparently its also based on hooks, so no.

  • @fogdonkey said:

How about don't run the best build then and let your MMR get lower?

Not sure what's the point of these best build recommendations now that we have MMR. Best build will result in that you will also get better survivors, so there is no real benefit. Maybe it is even bad to run best builds if you don't enjoy going against high MMR survivors.

So what else should we do? Keep joining matches to lose them in 5 minutes over and over again, which is a massive time waste, and then when u get to play vs chill survivors U'll just get your mmr back up again just because you play good.

There is no way out of this shithole.

People play the game, because people want to win. Winning and the path you took to the victory is what makes the game fun.

  • @legacycolt said:

I think as long as trying to find a match as killer takes long, there should be enough killers playing. Also finding a match as survivor tales like 15 seconds..

for me killer ques are 5 seconds, survivor ques are 5-10 minutes

    Aside from lightborn.

Regardless the few times you can't defend against the save it'll either be your fault for not looking around or them actually doing something well and earned it. If flashlight saved could be negated 100% of the time without a perk it'd literally make the flashlight useless.

you can look around as much as you want, vs good survivors and no walls around you will not be able to avoid flash light saves, unless you magically down everyone and the person about to be saved does not get picked up or does not have unbreakable during the time which is very unlikely to happen on high lvl play

well they aren't directed by the community, they are directed by data supported by feedback. And overall dev team opinion.

no wonder they are doing such a poor job with balancing the game, and the data they collect has proven worthless in regards of balance

none of their data outweighs player experience, and they seem to ignore it most of the time

  • @Shroompy said:

That's not true from my experience. RE had a lot of balance changes. Trickster had a lot of balance changes. We got jonathan voice in the final release of 5.2.0 but not the PTB.

voice barely even matters, ptb should be about balance and from RE zombie AI was nerfed and nemesis is still kinda garbage with the 3 hit thing, trickster was super bad on release, minimal changes

community always says it all and it always takes them 1 year to move a number from 10 to 20

  • @MegMain98 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2535853#Comment_2535853

And that is true! But don’t forget you’re also matched with people who are testing Spirit and don’t play her often. Most people are the PTB are not people who play Spirit often.

She wasn’t great in her first initial 2018 PTB not only because of directional audio but a combo of other factors that she got buffs on and people have now accustomed themselves to Spirit and are more than comfortable with her. Directional audio will not be as big of a deal as it was in 2018 and will not affect most Spirit players because they’re already pretty comfy and good at playing her.

Just don’t jump to conclusions. People thought Nurse was “gutted”. No. She’s still Nurse. People thought Billy was “gutted” and still think he is which I highly disagree with. People thought Twins were terrible (to be fair they released with a lot of bugs) and look at them now.

Point is that think can always change and people can find ways to be good at any killer that isn’t Burger King Myers.

Don't forget about the dust particles, at that point they can make her visible to survivors.

And it basically does not matter how good spirit that you verse is, the information you get is the whole reason why the nerf was super dumb.

Always pre-drop pallet and she can never get you unless she has mother daughter ring.

With iron will, you are inivisible to spirit completely, and everyone uses the perk because its just insanely strong against every killer.

And btw nurse was my favourite killer, i spent over around 40% of my whole playtime on her and the only thing that needed fixing was removing the omega-blink nurse and additional blinks she could get from addons, but it was mostly omega which was feared.

The whole issue with omega nurse was devs fault anyway, they make her charge speed and blink travel speed scale with range which made it pretty dumb to go against as she could be everywhere in no time.

However devs chose the worst possible way to fix their ######### mistake, nurse was gutten, but not power-wise. She is almost just as strong as the old nurse without addons. What they gutten about her was the 'fun' element. Cooldown was the cheapest way to make her weaker and it only made her boring. Imagine fatigue + loss of vision + movement speed lower than survivor and then on top of that you have to wait for a cooldown. Survivors that simply hold W get so far away that you won't even catch up to them with blinks and even if you do, long range blinks are pretty easy to dodge since thanks to the trail nurse leaves in her blink you can tell which way exactly is she going.

  • @GannTM said:

I maybe played like 30 survivor matches on the PTB in hopes I get Spirit. Haven’t gotten her once. It’s so aggravating because I see people playing killers that aren’t getting any changes like Pyramid Head, Legion, and Trickster. If you’re going to play those killers, go to live servers. I just want Spirit once before I go back to live. Is that too much to ask for?

first day there were many spirits, then people realized she is just trash after the changes and there is no reason to test her anymore

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Killers complain about Survivors running the same Perks (mostly Second Chance-Perks).

BHVR might have created Perks which might be decend and might be used (I believe this when I see it).

And Killers are not happy, despite the possibility that there will be less Second Chance-Perks. Shows once again, Killers dont want Survivors to have strong Perks.

you are not taking off any of your second chances by using boon totems, they are literary the same ######### just done in a different way

You said “Imagine making an opinion on how powerful a killer is based on the PTB”.

As you clearly just made your opinion on how powerful you think that a specific killer is based on the PTB….

    Let people have their opinions

You left out the most important part where I said that you are literary matched with all kinds of survivors, that is why you don't make an opinion of how strong killer is on the PTB, not because of changes that might or might not come when the patch is released to live

and my opinion is not based on how people performed vs me while I played her, my opinion is based on the information that I as a survivor get when facing her & also it was obvious that this change would be really really bad just from reading the patch notes

  • @GannTM said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2533354#Comment_2533354

Literally no one cares about high level play lol. This has nothing to do with Spirit but to do with SBMM which can put any killer against top tier survivors because their MMR is so high.

you'd make a 'good' dev, they think the same way

  • @GannTM said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2533292#Comment_2533292

Same here. I’ve played maybe like 6 or 7 matches as her on the PTB and it was very fun. I still felt like I can outplay the survivor but survivors can also do something against me. Also Spirit’s new add ons are super cool.

imagine making opinion on how powerful killer is based on ptb where you are matched with all kinds of survivors and most of them are bad

every killer is good against bad survivors

  • survivors know exactly where she is during phase and spirit knows nothing about survivors location thanks to iron will which every good survivor uses, at least in my last 10 games i have not seen a single survivor without it

spirit is dead in high level play with those changes and that is even without the dust particles which are not yet out

nurse and blight is all that is left now

  • Vs average survivors you can still do well, vs the better ones you can't do anything. Now every survivor knows exactly where you are in your phase even without the dust particles that are not yet in the game.

  • @Phasmamain said:

It’s kinda dumb if I’m being honest. Having an easy injure every chase for no downside is quite useful

this addon is the weaker ultra-rare compared to the one that hides the box

still m1 killer with almost useless power for the last healt state and it activates survivors ability to use dead hard

starting chain hunt has much more impact than getting an injure on 1 survivor

  • @ShakeyGames said:

Pinhead is a solid B-tier killer at the moment. If you add perks that synergise with him, such as Hoarder/Franklin's Demise, or use some of his better add-ons, then he becomes an S-tier killer.

He has ridiculously excellent map pressure with his chain hunts, possibly the best in the game. A good Pinhead will be able to defend the box from being solved, by either using Hoarder or an addon, and make a chain hunt last the entire game, preventing any gens from being completed and securing a win.

His power in chase is also very good, comparable to Deathslinger and Huntress. Most people use his power incorrectly, chaining people that are super far away. No, that's not how you do it. When a survivor is looping you, chain them, then you can easily get a hit.

People say that he is add-on reliant. I disagree, I have played about ~30 games with this killer so far, I have not lost a single one, surprisingly. I have gotten a 4k in ~25 and a 3k due to hatch escapes in the other games. In every game I have played, I have not used any add on, at all.

I don't even have any good perks unlocked for him yet, I've just been using Deadlock, Plaything, STBFL and Sloppy Butcher.

I think he is fine the way he is.

My last 4 games as Cenobite were vs survivors that brought bunch of syringes and flashlights and like 11/16 of them had iron will, dead hard, bt and unbreakable and I kinda felt powerless even when hitting majority of my chains. His power most of the times just does literary nothing and the time it takes to get into portal and then get back from it just wastes more time than it gives unless you use it at small loops which you can mindgame anyway.

Chain hunt is the real deal, but it never happens, someone always takes the cube and without the -10s activation time on it or the ultra rare addon that hides the cube until chain hunt begins I have never actually seen it happen.

He is fun to play but he is super weak and that lunge bug does not help him either.

However I never used hoarder and franklins in my build so that might change a lot.

it's literary just because of the new bug and sound bugs that are in the game, spirit is just trash when she has no way to counter iron-will

even if people with iron-will had step sounds, there are so many sounds that can just overpower the footstep sounds so u actually have no idea

They're the best perks you can use on any high mobility killer. They're no more common than DS, BT, UB, DH and SB. People are only complaining about them because they need to blame something other than their or their teammates own lack of skill to counter it.

All the perks have easy counters

    Ruin: Cleanse the lit totem.

    Undying: Cleanse the lit totem.

Tinkerer: Split up on gens. Having Sprint Burst can be viewed as a counter.

BBQ: Get in a locker, behind a gen or into the terror radius.

Not a single thing is difficult about this perk combination. I've seen people complaining about Tinkerer a lot lately, some calling it OP or problematic. I don't understand why. Don't most people say the most fun part of the game is getting in a chase? Tinkerer allows the killer to quickly go into multiple chases throughout the map. I think lazy or bad players are the ones who whine about this perk.

people hate tinkerer because it doesn't allow them to group on gen and finish it in 20 seconds

Or you can not be a sweat lord that needs a 4k every match and just play...you know...for fun? The choice is yours buddy.

Can't play the game when it lasts 5 minutes.

Imagine calling someone a sweatlord for using a build that allows for proper gameplay when survivors literary rush all gens in 5 minutes or less if you don't do so.

Seeing a lot of hate directed at Blight, specifically when they run the build of Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer/BBQ (Or some other information perk).

First off, I'm sick of seeing people calling to make Blight 110% movement or something garbage like that. A Killer that has a high skill ceiling like Blight shouldn't be gutted like that just because he happens to have mobility. Nurse disregards nearly every aspect of chases in this game and is still undeniably the best Killer who in the right hands will steamroll 80% of teams, SWF and Solo. Blight requires in depth map knowledge of what you can and cannot collide with, knowledge of tiles if you ever want a prayer of landing a rush at them, and general game experience. Everything Blight does a Billy can do as well, from quickly traversing the map to becoming an M1 Killer at strong loops.

I do NOT want another Billy situation. Period, end of discussion. If you have a problem with Blight himself, complain about his addons. I am 100% convinced anybody who calls for him to be 110% has not once played a game with him, nor will I believe you if you claim otherwise. It doesn't even make sense thematically, his power is to RUN.

NOW, when it comes to perks, obviously people are playing to win. People use this combination because it is strong on him. This is normal, just like how Survivors run Unbreakable/Decisive/Borrowed/Iron Will/Exhaustion Perk. The game has a HORRIBLE perk balance right now, anytime an interesting perk comes out that COULD shake up the meta it gets gutted because people whine and complain about it, and it's lame. Gearhead didn't deserve that hard of a nerd, or Coup, but it's what happened and interesting perks became memes at best. How is that fun?

Survivors can meme around with builds because Survivors can afford to. If you have even just a few bad chases with Killer, which is normal because they are human beings capable of both making errors and getting screwed by map and tile layouts, Gens pop like popcorn and then the Killer has to decide if they want to keep playing normally or play "unfun" by Tunneling or Slugging. Fact of the matter is more often than not if you want to SUCCEED, you HAVE to play in a way that is not likely to be "fun" for Survivor. Blight is fast and Tinkerer is good, but if 2 Gens are about to pop at the same time, he can only stop ONE. Nothing anyone argues will change that.

Blight suffers from one thing only and that is being a decent, competent Killer with a high skill ceiling and perks that synergize well with him. The only other things that require legit complaints are perk variety, which affects BOTH sides of players, and maybe his addons. Besides those two things, Blight is an awesome and fun Killer whose only needed changes are the garbage sliding on certain objects.

If you wanna see different builds used, ask the Devs to make perks better. Make Franklins and Knockout apply on Killer powers too, make Fire Up actually worth using with better numbers, make Blood Favor not have a Cooldown anymore or don't let it be a Hex, make Coup gain stacks on gens done and the first hook of each Survivor.

Agree with your post but they just won't change anything about perks until they get a proper balance team.

Also coup will be garbage even with bunch of extra stacks, wasting stack when not even using the extended range or not being able to choose when to use the perk just kills it.
