I'd like to be able to repeat my tomes for BP too. As it stands I'm almost done with all four. Sad days.
You're doing better than me then! I haven't finished the Survivor path on any of them and barely done a killer one.
-
Yeah, the bones weren't the issue THIS time. And I'm having less problems with NoED now that I'm only doing ones I stumble across now rather than hunting them.
Don't give the slightest care about the Rift anyway. I just want the BP for perks.

Congrats!
You've got a long way to go, though. Competent teammates start showing up around rank 10.
Or stay in brown because they are smurfs.
-
If camping and tunnelling weren't so relied upon, then survivors would actually be free to experiment with different builds.
If survivors didn't also exploit the use of these perks, then some killers might not try to play particular killera or playstyles.
-
ALL he has is an AoE instant down. Other than that, he's a basic killer. Hell, even Trapper has more to him than Leatherface.
-
Almost never. Just the way I like it.
You could say that I have a form of killer burnout after versing 95% Hillbillies, 4% Myers and 1% other after hitting Purple ranks for the first time back in the days of original Ruin. That was the worst season or two for me in this game.

My edit was sarcasm if you didnt catch on
There's a difference between the sarcasm that I use and that. Your edit came off as "I couldn't hold my argument and got mad about it" instead of being a joke. Or at least that's how it read for me.
But then again, sarcasm is much harder to convey in the written language.

So I should use pop, dying light thana and corrupt? @azame
I run Pop, Devour, I'm All Ears and I can't remember my last perk.
Wouldn't necessarily call it a "strong" build, but it works for me from time to time. Don't play much Slinger, and when I do, I've usually dropped in rank.

I did ask for help you arent giving it you are telling me to look stuff up on YouTube. That's true yes I am not entitled to their time but why claim something without experience. I would get hate saying clown is op without playing him correct? Yet the inverse of that is acceptable.
No. No it isn't acceptable. I have not seen a single person on here who claims otherwise.
-
I dunno what to say.
I've had posts where killers dogpile me because I dare speak against them, and I've seen others where a killer has a genuine point where the survivors all repeat the cycle. So much "whataboutism" on these forums in general.
The main thkng that anyone on here can do is stick to your actual points and get people to try and actually debate them.
As for the whole debate for which side the forums face? Well, they don't and you have just been proven to be hypocritical with some of your points. In THIS post, you say they are killer sided a lot of the time, yet you did just edit a post to blatantly state survivor.
-
Oh, BOY! I look like an absolute saint. So many times I've let survivors go because of a DC or because I've railed their team harder than a Deathslinger who's replaced the Redeemer with a Tau Empire rail gun.
-
BOTH sides are guilty of this on some manner. Killers have unrealistic standards for survivors and dealing with some of the total BS that THEY can do.
Not saying that either side is right, but yeah. Until a good portion of the community takes a good look at itself, nothing's gonna change.

You know, I wondered about that. So Lullaby doesn't affect the sounds of Jigsaw Box skill checks?
If so, that's too bad. Would have made those "skill checks happen more often addons" more help than what I'd think would be hindrance.
And that is EXACTLY why they don't do it. They fear it would make those add-ons too strong.
-
Never considered it on Pig for several reasons. Need other perks, Huntress' perks are meme at best or trash at worst, never cared for Huntress, and of course the most important factor:
It don't affect Jigsaw boxes.

@Jukenobi said:
Rank and pips mean nothing in this game. Why do people care so much about rank? Stop taking the game so seriously.
In regards to survivor DC's, let them DC. They get punished more than you with a time penalty. If a killer DC's the whole game shuts down, so it's only fair that survivors get to safety otherwise it would get abused to no end by killers who want to be dicks. If one survivor DC's you can still get 3 other survivors and pip/safety.
We CAN safety but it's extremely difficult.
Yeah, ranks don't really mean anything, but losing some of that because someone else got mad and left is really disheartening. If I lose a pip, I want it to be because I played badly. Not because somebody didn't feel like actually playing the game.
-
The problem with Spirit chases is zero feedback.
As for your initial question, I want a chase to be as long as it needs to be. 45 seconds to a minute feels alright as a survivor. Just not super quick, or me almost screaming at you to go find someone else.
Additional note is THANK YOU FOR SAYING WHAT I HAVE ABOUT PIPS! For so long, I have said how the Pip system is a clearer indication of a win than straight kills or escapes. I couldn't care if I died if my sacrifice allowed me to pip and everyone else escaped.

Wouldn't any survivors at the gens be moving away from you, not towards you?
Wait scratch that, you're a stealth killer. They won't move at all.
I play both sides with stealth.
Moonwalking is effective and Spine Chill only tells you that the killer is LOOKING AT YOU. I've had plenty of times where I have run into the killer, or a Spine Chill user has run into me.
Or just play normally and use the time to protect generators more easily.

U guys need to play with meta perks ds/bt there is no other counter play for proxy Camper/tunnler
Not everyone will have the Halloween chapter, or think that a character like Bill is initially strong.
Even with those perks, it is still relatively easy enough to miss a DS check or not hold a chase long enough.

Shattered Syringe is good as well. In the late game you can just predict that someone is going to run from a loop, but in the early game it can mean the difference between a between-loop hit or a pallet in the face.
Better for learning her, similar to Unrelenting as a perk, but terrible at higher ranks or with more experience as you should be hitting ambushes more than not.

Purple is Sketch. Green is Annotated Plan.
I meant that one. Never really use them, so it's easy enough to get them mixed up. I usually run no add-ons or the Dash ones.

I find it funny that you say Annotated Plan is worth running but not the strictly superior Sketch. :P I'm guessing it was just a name mix-up. Both are definitely worth running, though. Beyond that, I'd say you pretty much nailed it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1568627#Comment_1568627
Shun the nonbeliever. Crate/Sketch/Timer for life. Also, you can't go wrong with Workshop Grease? :P
Anointed Plan is the purple one, right? Or did I get them mixed up?
Basically the purple one that DOESN'T increase the RBT timer.
-
John's Medical File, Combat Straps and Video Tape for ambush.
Gears, Tampered Timer and Sketch for trap shenanigans.
Last Will for extra traps.
Nothing else is worth running.
EDIT: Got Annointed Plan and Sketch mixed up.
-
If I want to play stealth, I'm not going ti use someone like Feng Min now, am I?
I've also found her default jacket to be a more natural looking article of clothing and better for stealth. Or at least it was until I got an LED-LCD TV.
-
Thongs are so hard to run in, they just flop about and make the worst slapping noise as they hit the ground whenever they land and DON'T fly off.............
Wait.

Kindness breeds kindness and I'm of the opinion of if we all calmed the f*ck down for two seconds, realised that there's more important things in this game than trying to screw over each other, the game would be in a better place and we wouldn't have builds like the Second Chance Meta.

Please tell me this then. Oni's power is stronger than tier 3 and he doesn't have the hindrance tier 1 has yet he isn't op. How would taking out tier 1 make him unbalanced?
Oni has to score hits and is second in volume only to the Demogorgon.
If we're also talking base kit, then yes Bood Fury is technically stronger, but Myers' add-ons can cover that gap pretty quickly, such as INFINITE Tier-III, or KILL a survivor. What does Oni have in that range? See blood they pick up, so ignore half of your power?
-
Tier-I has the Undetectable status and Tier-III is so immensely strong, especially with add-ons.
Consider it a balancing act.
-
There is also a certain point where killers CAN actually hit through a window. Used that against unsuspecting survivors plenty of times.
-
If you're in console, check your NAT type. I'm on Xbox with Aus NBN and it occasionally jumps to "Strict", making it harder to find games.
-
Who has better waifus: killers or survivors?
Answer: YES.

You're correct, what alot of people don't realize is a PC gamer is just a console gamer that upgraded and decided to take gaming more seriously , it's very rare to find someone who can say they've never played on a console before, but that's why the PC gamers are more competitive , when you have people who were hardcore into gaming enough to ditch their console and drop 1000-3000 on a nice PC for better frames and gaming experience in general then of course majority of that base is gonna be more competitive and have more adept players in general
I'd rather spend that 1000-3000 on more Warhammer tbh. Then again, I've been playing console since I was 5, back in the days of the original Playstation.
-
I have a whole power dedicated to it. You want to know what it's called? Jigsaw's Baptism.
If a survivor has an RBT on, I can basically ignore them.
-
Weird combination of stealth and aggression. I prefer to stealth up to a target, then get really aggressive in a chase. Ironically as well my favourite play as Spirit on the rare chance I actually play her is to play her straight, since everyone expects mind-games.

And I love you for it. Games aren't near as stressful. Finally got my butt kicked by a 4 man console swf.
I think it's a difference in mentality. Console gamers are generally here for a good time and aren't as competitive. Yes, there are some hardcore players on consoles but most of them I see, and I'm using Siege as an example here, use some sort of additional tool to use M&KB rather than just switching to PC.
-
Well, I'm going to guess it's later in the day, or at least that's when we tend to jump on.
There's also nothing wrong with console players, as we're also way less likely to abuse BT, DS and UB. Yes, we play slower and more deliberately, but that's a console thing in n general.
-
Here's a strange concept for you: if you are kind to others, usually they will be kind in return.
Survivors can have bad days too, and it's mainly because of mentalities like the kne you've posted.
As for the "typical" build you have there, no. Just no. I have DS on ONE of my 3 builds. You want to know what perks I use instead? SELF-CARE, Spine Chill, Lithe, Bond, Sprint Burst, Quick & Quiet, Dance with Me or one for whatever Archives mission I have.

Good players would just do a gen normaly. They dont have a problem hittinf greates.
Yeah, uh, not really on console. Hitting "Great" skill-checks consistently is more about guesswork than actual timing especially when your TV is about 3m away and isn't overly large to begin with.
-
Depends on the killer for me, but I also have varied builds across the killers I actually play. Top one for a stealth killer, bottom for anyone else..
-
I dunno about renaming it, but give me a theme and I'll MAKE the damn thing into a legit cocktail!
Been working in liquor retail for the last 5 years. I'll be able to work out something.
-
Her hum is her true TR, but her 20m actual TR is for perks like Monitor & Abuse, Unnerving Presence and Object of Obsession.
She is also currently the only true lethal ranged killer in the game. The hum radius is purely for balance purposes.

clearly you never played [side I'm defending], otherwise you would know that [things OP you mentioned] is effective only against noobs, you just need to [do bones / do gens / don't tunnel / pressure gens / play fortnite] and that is completely countered.
Maybe instead of [crying on a forum / blaming Devs / asking for nerfs] you should [ask for nerfs / cry on a forum / blame Devs], and stop being a [baby killer / entitled survivor].
...now we just need to copy paste this for another 5 pages and we have a TL;DR of every discussion ever about game balance.
I was not expecting this. Sad thing is that much like my original comment, this is just too accurate.
I both love and hate this at the same time. Thanks.

Yes I understand that which is why hes hard to tweak still doesnt give him an excuse to have a power that has no real counter.
Cover literally counters the Redeemer. You're behind it? He can't shoot you. He shoots you? Try to get behind some and break the chain. It breaks something like 5 times faster when something is going through the chain.
Hell, even another survivor will do the job.
-
I'll tell you what people tell me to do against Hillbilly: play around your cover.
Unlike a character such as Hillbilky, Deathslinger has NOTHING outside of a 1v1 chase.
-
The Redeemer and Huntress' hatchets are very different. Deathslinger is still required to actually hit the survivor with his bayoneted in order to secure a down. Huntress has lethal range wherever she as line of sight. The hum is a balancing act for this, and Huntress can also use M&A to throw people off because while it doesn't affect her humming, people use that as a half TR to know yes she's here, but I still have time.
-
Clearly you're an entitled [side I'm not playing] and [side I'm not playing] is stronger! They have [perks, SWF, gen-rushing, camping, tunnelling, slugging] and that is WAY stronger than anything [side I play as] has!
There we go. I win the most unoriginal comment award.

Lol the lore there is really similar to my idea
Yes and no. Mine follows the typical snowy chasm "CUT THE ROPE!" thing. Sacrifice him so at least one of us will live and all that.
-
Best one I've come up with was a mountaineer who was left on a mountain to die.
His power was to create an are of effect blizzard that slowed everyone and locked off some things near by. I'd have to dig that up from my discussions, but I'm going to work soon after I post this.
-
Respect breeds respect.
Yeah, I'm not going to give the killer a free kill, but I'm not going to annoy them outside of perfectly timed unhooks or gen-taps.
When I play killer, this may be my Pig main or SAW fanatic side, but I feel like I'm there to TEST the survivors and their resolve. If they die, I found them wanting. But sometimes, I'll let one go because they've clearly had a bad game. Random teammates are a bigger pain than he acting my killers.
I will also NEVER camp or tunnel unless they truly deserve it, because I have been that survivor too many times.
