The problem is veterans still have huge stockpiles so it makes little to no difference
-
An interesting change I thought of for hillbilly was a charge speed increase depending on your current chainsaw heat meter. Basically the hotter the Saw is the faster it would activate
-
Nah they’d rather buff bloodlust than actually try to design a decent map
-
How did they get rid of survivor perk dependancy? OTR is basically required in solo queue and PT is a must quick due to insane regression + longer gens
-
Generalist for killer since clown needs extra gen pressure/Tracking to succeed
For survivor I like to specialise into 1 category (except I have to keep OTR equipped because of how often tunnelling occurs)
-
All that does is make her more frustrating for the nurse player while not fixing her actual issues

As someone who played a lot of the old Freddy we don't need it back. Having 7 seconds just to be able to have the luxury of interacting with survivors was not fun and having a 50% action speed penalty with the only way to wake up was through failed checks wasn't fun either. All current Freddy needs is a minor add-on rework so there's a little variety with what to use would be nice. It'd also help if they made the dream world a little more threatening too, maybe do a dredge style thing but instead of complete darkness the dream world is incredibly foggy and obscures distant vision by a lot. Freddy doesn't need much but a few things here and there would be nice.
However if you're hellbent on getting the old Freddy back you can rework his old dream demon into add-ons, you can manually pull survivors into the dream world at the cost of no passive sleeping and it replaces your dream projection. That way he's a little more unique that you can mix and match his powers through add-ons.
Even with better add ons current Freddy is just lackluster tbh. He has a weak unreliable chase tool and decent map pressure tool that are both hampered by survivors who stay awake, a process which became much more accessible especially after the nerf
He just isn’t that fun to play since you feel like you’re power is outside your control more often than not

I just skimmed and it seemed like some decent ideas. The easiest solution though would be to undo the nerfs. Anybody who says that version of Freddy would be OP, in this day and age, needs to do a double take at what they're critiquing: an M1 killer with worse Clown bottles and a limited teleport.
I feel like reverting the nerfs doesn’t really fix Freddy’s issues. He still has a low skill ceiling and very little to him in terms of depth

I dont get why everyone is so hell bent on nerfing faking your teleport its one of the few unique things current freddy can do and probably the only part of his kit that you actually have to learn. The only issue is maybe DMS but other than that I dont really care about him being able to face his tp
I only changed it so it wouldn’t be abused with his new area of effect slow. His teleport is now a much more versatile and active ability in chase so I feel it balances out
-
@OneGoodBoyDemo said:
Some changes are good, but i would prefer the dream world to have more effects on survivors. The dream world is useless if you're not being chased by Freddy.
That’s a fair point. One of the general ideas for me is that being in the dream world should feel punishing for survivors but doing it through action speed can be a slippery slope (Especially with how the meta has evolved)
-
As I said old Freddy would be the preferred option. But I want to give the devs some ideas on how current Freddy could actually be made a fun and unique killer while still keeping his overall abilities intact
-
It’s crazy to see Freddy below clown. People used to say he was S tier when his rework first came out which seems ridiculous now (I know he had slowdown add ons but without them he kinda sucked)
-
Both sides complain constantly. It’s the nature of an asymmetrical game since both sides have different strengths and weaknesses. It makes losing feel more like “My side is weaker than theirs” instead of “I got beaten b6 better players” to a lot of people
-
Nurse’s high skill floor and balance issues can be rectified with a full rework. That way new nurse players will have an easier time and nurse can be more balanced as a whole
-
It doesn’t need to be there at all imo. All it does is make people nauseous and doesn’t obscure vision enough to actually matter in chase.
As a compromise you could make survivors inside the gas oblivious meaning they can’t see his red light
-
Devs have been radio silent on it from what I know. Gotta wait for those AOT skin sales to stagnate first
-
Huntress, Demo and Slinger for me. All lead to fun chase with interactions on both sides and all 3 require a good amount of knowledge and skill from the killer perspective
-
Techs should be removed if they are actively detrimental to the game. Legion walking backwards to cause a deep wound down was a tech and was rightfully removed

Pinheads teleport isn't a stun. When you talk about Blight are you talking about when he's injecting serum or between bounces?
You can stun a Nurse charging her blink because charging a blink isn't a stun. You can stun a Nurse anytime she is solidify just not while she's in fatigue. Because fatigue is a stun and stuns don't stack.
What you're advocating for is queing stuns. This will bring us back to flashlight and pallet saves not requiring timing.
What about legion? His fatigue is basically the same as nurse and afaik you can stun him out of it. I’m referring to blight’s serum injection which is the same as a nurse fatigue
Why shouldn’t nurse get stunned while in fatigue if both legion and blight get stunned during it?

No, this isn't just a Nurse thing. You can't stun a killer in pickup animation. Flashlight save in animation. Headon a killer while the are in stun a imation.
This should be basic game knowledge.
Can’t legion and blight be stunned out of their respective fatigue animations? Even a channel animation like pinheads teleport can be stunned
Shouldn’t nurse follow the same logic?

Blight too, pretty sure if you drop a pallet on him while he's in fatigue it'll stun him again
Yeah I’m pretty confident you can. Since nurse ignores pallets anyway her being stunned during fatigue would make a lot of sense
-
Can’t legion get stunned out of fatigue? If he can nurse should be able to as well

Myers is awful. Plague is heavily reliant on RNG. Oni is screwed by predrop and running and is a useless M1 until he can get a hit which won’t happen for a long time on a lot of maps. Bubba’s power is absolutely awful on most tiles. Nurse always being able to continue to perform is why she is good design. The only cap is whether she or the survivors can play better, not some inane hard limit. If a player is able to play better than the other, they should always be able to succeed in trades. Hard limits trump skill expression.
Nurse ignoring bad map design doesn’t make her well designed. DBD isn’t just about skill vs skill. Pallets are resources that scan run out but offer defence for survivors yet nurse just says no to that . DBD has never been a mechanically intensive game and nurse is no exception to that
Nurse’s skill expression isn’t higher than other killers. Huntress and blight have much more skill expression precisely because they play off map design. You don’t play tiles as nurse while huntress and blight play each tile in a unique way. Another example is pinhead since you not only have to hit a chain projectile you have to play around the environment to use it at the right time.
Nurse’s skill ceiling falls rather flat compared to these killers and people have been overblowing it for years
-
Firstly nurse has some tome challenges.
Secondly people figured out nurse is pretty damn easy considering her power level and if there’s 1 thing I know about dbd it’s that people love easy wins

You didn't even mention Bubba, who (potentially) can down up to all four survivors in one chainsaw sweep. Which, with chili add-ons, outlasts Sprint Burst. All of the killers you mentioned either have built-in exposed, or a power to keep survivors consistently injured, with a limited-time ranged attack. Myers can just pick up a survivor he's never even hooked and immediately kill him or her. Nurse can't do any of that.
Which perk are you referring to? Because everyone and their mother on these forums is complaining about some perk on Nurse - all of which have basic counterplay, as well as perk counter options. I've discussed just about every one previously.
Edit: typo.
The point is that killers with snowball potential have limiters in place to stop them going too insane. Myers and plague have resources to use and ONI has to keep survivors constantly injured to stay powered up. Bubba has to charge a saw and lose distance to get a hit which gives plenty of time for survivors to move, Windows and pallets also stop the saw.
Nurse has no limiter to her slugging and snowball potential. If she sees you she can hit you basically (especially with range). The perks I was referring to were starstruck and to a lesser degree HG. Assuming agitation nurse has a 44m TR when picking up and moves at around 105% while carrying. She can cover most of the map with that and then use tracking perks like BBQ to seal the deal. Exposed is simply too much for a killer who can ignore obstacles and get hits anywhere on the map.
The perk is only an issue on nurse. Characters like slinger use it well but it’s not blatantly OP on them
-
1. Nurse
2. Nurse
3. NURSE
-
Autodidact for survivor
Lethal pursuer for killer
-
Cleansing as soon as possible can actually work pretty well. Denying plague of 4 fountains by cleansing at all of them is huge
-
Yeah it basically means there is an endless list of challenges for new players which is great for extra BP

The moral of the story is the same as almost every other killer on the roster: split up. And as you said, Distortion and Object of Obsession can be used to hard counter the perk. Vigil can also be used to counter Starstruck.
What other killer can punish grouping up as much as her though?
Oni has good snowball but has to earn it through M1 hits. Still has to play around pallets and windows
Plague has to first infect and then get her fountain. Even then a well placed stun will remove it.
Myers is M1 and has to hope the survivor messes up or is in a deadzone. Starts off insanely weak and has to charge throughout the game and can even run out
Nurse equips a perk and gets the best snowball because of it
-
Run shattered hope basically
-
Garden of joy and haddonfield houses are way too dark right now. Maps like badham don't have this issue so I don't know why this happened
-
Static blast does have an audio queue to tell you it's happening. But yeah doctor's counterplay is basically "run calm spirit 4head"
Even then though he's pretty weak right now
-
Yeah DH is fine now. If I have STBFL swinging into can actually be pretty beneficial as well
-
Artist is one of the few killers I just dislike in every way. Visually she looks off and her sounds are super annoying
Gameplay wise she is just boring anti loop and forces survivors to play in a boring way to win. Her power synergises with DMS + PR too well as well
-
Map offerings just need to go. Especially with prestige changes getting vital green add ons is quite hard now
Dbd's map design isn't solid enough to allow players to choose maps
-
Because I still have fun with it?
-
The problem has to be fixed at its core. More cooldown or add ons nerfs won’t do anything when her power still functions in the same way
-

To be fair. That is how metas work. You remove one another pops up. There will always be a "best" build. Thats why they plan to do the meta shake ups as much as possible. (They said this on the last one near the bottom) so they are aware of needing to constantly change the meta.
My problem is that the meta will never go away from anti tunnelling and camping perks regardless of what they change. Sure they can add another but that doesn’t fix the issue it just adds a different cost of paint on it
-
@GeneralV said:
Did you expect anything different?
It was like expecting a tiger to stop hunting other animals. Some things do not change easily.
Admittedly I wasn’t but this patch was actually the chance to change their design philosophy around perks being band aids for game mechanics.
But as usual they slapped a perk on to camping and said “fixed it!”
-
Even if you can successfully outplay a nurse the punishment on her end is minimal and she can make up for it easy with her snowball potential and quick downs. You can come at me and say I need to “get gud” all you want but that doesn’t change the fact that nurse at her core is an unbalanced design regardless of how many bandaids they put on such as slower movement speed or a cooldown
How can we call Oni, a Killer who has to be an M1 killer to charge and earn his power balanced while nurse gets a stronger power from the start balanced too? That literally makes no sense
-

It is not.
Every single time they have released data, she has the lowest kill rate in the game. Here is the most recent data they released in january:
https://i.ibb.co/VS3VByW/killstats2022.jpg
It is likely that since they buffed killers across the board that kill rates dipped for most killers below 50%, but yeah, in general nurse is always the lowest kill rate killer in the game. If not the lowest, i don't think she has ever gone above the 2nd or 3rd lowest.
Well guess it’s time to nerf Freddy again!
-
But I have autodidact and need stacks

They nerf thanatophobia and adding many pallet god in new RPD.
And give reassurance OP perk to survivor.

Found the facecamper
-
At most they’ll nerf some of his add ons and maybe the hindered fro: infection
-
Autodidact is super fun and always a go to perk for me
-
Yeah basically no one actually cares to get every perk on every character. I’m still grinding my PC account and sucks getting like 15K average per survivor game

They are complaining because it's supposed to be "exclusive" and all to themselves once they earn it, that's why people had a problem with everyone getting the old ultra rare outfit pieces because the people who received them later didn't "rightfully earn them", I just think that's a selfish thing to complain about. Other people's happiness matters too.
In that case I agree. I just don’t like doing it through another exclusive offer instead of just putting it in the shop so everyone can enjoy it
Some people don’t like subscription services so it kinda sucks having this as a way to get it instead of simply buying it in the shop
-
I’d swap BBQ for darkness revealed personally. Synergises well with his teleport
-
I think the problem many have is that Rift cosmetics come to the store eventually but this one might not now that it’s a prime reward
