Believe or not most of the complaints I have gotten recently are from people with 3k+ hours.
Well then they’ve probably played little killer. I’m a survivor main who does complain but complaining about BBQ is ridiculous
-
Maybe If ruin was base regression speed but at double hell no
-
Barbecue is slightly annoying at worst. Great for farming bl and encouraging moving from the hooks. Also has counterplay so any survivor saying it’s op just hasn’t played long enough
-
The dc penalty was a half assed addition anyway

Yes, she can hear your grunts of pain... which meant she had to get a hit on you in the first place. And she can't see you while in phase, that's for you to use your surroundings to your advantage.
Using her power in short bursts alleviates the cooldown
There's still a cooldown, and she's still 110%. Use that to your advantage.
Birds are going to be alerted by you first unless you have calm spirit and footsteps can be heard but by the time you hear them you’re dead since she moves so fat
Birds are alerted by you if you run... who said that's the best move? Often times, as soon as you realise she's phasing, stop, crouch and hide somewhere, and let her mind-game herself. At the very least she'll have burnt out her power giving you a chance to run. But guess what... generally speaking, in a chase the survivors lose to the killer!
mindgames can’t happen when you’re injured and she can hear you.
They absolutely can. Are you going to vault the pallet/window or not? And if you can't play the mind-game, equip perks that'll help. I mean, survivors have got a whole ton of 2nd chance assistive perks... pick some. Don't blame the killer for your inability to play against her.
I know I can’t win every chase but I want my skill to mean something.
That door swings both ways. Spirit players who've learned to track and predict survivor running patterns also want their skill to mean something, and rewarded with a quick down. Plus, you can't presume your skill is such that you can escape her easily because - very clearly from your responses - it's not there. I've played as Spirit against players who've properly juiced me, their skill meant they escaped. You're not at that level, clearly. The solution is for you to get better... not to nerf the Spirit to empower you, because that'll completely break the game at higher levels of gameplay.
Survivors like to crap on killers all the time and complain that a killer is OP, but I've yet to see realisation that killers have to learn a variety of different skills, and they have a much harder more stressful role overall. The two sides are not equal, and killers deserve to get their kills in too.
I’m not saying killer is less stressful than survivor( well unless you play Freddy) but Spirit is still too easy for the immense reward you get from her

Then your talking about the less than 1% of players right? Then my response is that if you spend hundreds of hours on survivor, you basically become unkillable (and that's one out of four), why is that fair. Shouldn't we nerf survivors to be less powerful because of that group of people (probably 1/4 of the playerbase, a much larger group).
Killers will win 1v1s consistently unless they are playing bottom tier( pig Myers) but against average to S tier killers they can win chases consistently.
Survivors need to be stronger since so many of them are bad. If you want to see go play solo. Balancing around top SWF would kill solo completely

If the question is would that make her a bit more balanced? The answer is yes, very slighly. Is it that much valuable? I would say no. Nurse is a killer who ignores most of the game mechanics and she can never be balanced due to that without gutting her. Not that I want them to gut her tho, Im just saying. Her power is the one that none of the killers should have.
Aside from these, she is so hard to master but super strong in good hands. Luckly, you dont see a lot of good nurses but when you do oh boi... Thats the only reason they dont gut her imo.
Yep that’s why I wish she was never made tbh

Because , she's faster, she's got a ranged attack as her power, which hits and over time does a health state and makes them broken.
She can't down as consistently as a GOOD nurse, but a new plague can down more consistently than a new nurse. Her skill curve (learning how to blink, where to blink, timings, positioning, tracking of people after blink whilst fatigued) is huge, which means that she has a higher kill rate then plague, because most people who play nurse aren't nurse mains. They don't spend the hundreds of hours necessary to become busted. Very few people do, hence why this is ok.
She can injure but downing is hard without corrupt that’s my point while nurse can consistently down.
New nurses are obviously going to get destroyed that’s inevitable but I’m not talking about them. Even average to above average nurses are very oppressive and will demolish solo teams

i disagree the beginning gen time is ridiculous as an optimal team gets at least 2 gens done, i should have been more clear im not talking about gen time as a whole just at the start of the game.
some maps do need their sized reduced too but the issue to me has always been that your simply unable to prevent nearly half the gens from getting done by the time you find and down one survivor unless you did so very fast and found a gen they were working on right after.
If you meant early game then yeah I agree there needs to be something. Would encourage survivors to do chests and totems too.
-
@pandorayr said:
The nurse needs a buff, removing cooldown power would be enough.
I don't remember the last time I see a nurse against me for this reason I know that nerf would remove her from the game almost entirely.
my advice: stop asking unnecessary nerfs Nurse has the worst kill rate and is very difficult to play.
Kill rates are irrelevant in nurses case due to her high skill floor. She takes a lot of practise to get down hence her kill rate is low because less experienced nurses will Do worse.
The cooldown is there to help survivors break LOS and actually escape her in chase
-
@AChaoticKiller said:
Until gens take longer to complete by a base game mechanic nurse should not be nerfed.
That is my whole stance on her i wont say she isn't strong enough to constantly beat even good teams but i also won't say it's unfair since it takes a ton of time to get to that point and survivors can beat most killers by just being optimal on gens.
Also if she does get a nerf I want a buff that makes her easier for newer nurse players and before people say get gud i have gotten decent at her but im on console and she is such a pain to play for obvious reasons which makes me regret even starting matches with her even if i win.
I want her to be easier to play but weaker to keep her in line with the rest of the cast.
Gen time isn’t the solution it’s map size and loop setup

Sorry if that sounds dismissive, most killers that are decent can loop and mind game loops to ensure a hit. Therefore only getting one hit should not be an issue. A good killer will body block vaults and force the survivor to play their way in a loop, making it so that they can get a hit of.
But if plague is an m1 killer if they don’t cleanse how could she down as consistently as nurse?

Plague doesn't lose her power or have to charge it up, Myers does.
Nurse has a 3 second stun every missed shot/ after every blink. Plague can just m1 you or recharge instantly. Even with the empowered puke.
Nurse also has no field of vision when teleporting, and therefore there is blind spots if she teleports past you. And yes, stealth is good against every killer, but it's especially good against nurse because again, she can't see the others when she blinks and doesn't see what's inbetween her and her desired location.
Plague says ######### you to pallets and defenses too, she infects them. And you just slow down. You've lost a health state, that's massive. You also infect others if you jump on a gen together or try and save someone.
Yes but how can plague down a good survivor without corrupt?

I think they kinda regret Nurse, honestly. I wouldn't be surprised if they just don't know what to do with her. Leave her alone, she's still the strongest killer in the game. Nerf her too much, she becomes the worst killer in the game. Don't nerf her enough, nothing really changes.
I think it's more likely that they just don't touch her for awhile. So, nothing changes.
I honestly feel like nurse was a mistake but it’s too late to remove them so I have no clue what they can do

Survivors do have the upper hand in high tiers because of the 4v1. So killers should be slightly stronger. All survivors need to do is gens and thats it. Even if you cant loop at high tiers run the killer away from gens that are being worked on and voila. A nice option would be a game mode for new players to learn instead of thrusting them into the lions den.
One weak link might be your teams downfall but 1 or 2 mistakes by a killer at high tier and its GG. You cant recover and it shouldnt be that way.
Same could be said for survivors. Someone botches a basement unhook and there two in there. If you don’t have bt that’s an easy loss if played right by the killer
With the current state of solo I’m fine with survivor being the stronger role even if it’s only slightly since solo is the weakest role

Yes but dead hard gives distance, something that is good against then because bubba is slow, Billy can't turn.
Also nurses isnt effective on people without sloppy, it needs people to be healing for a while for her to be able to find and get to them.
Plague has range and can go over obstacles, also can infect objects to make survivors effective. Also a plague can make someone broken, with her power, which doesn't give them the speed burst, and then hit them to down then. That's her base power, and doesn't have a recharge unlike nurse.
I don't tend to use ruin (easily gotten rid of) or corrupt (not long term, only helps in early game). I prefer sloppy, thanat, nurses and either BBQ or pop. This is a reliable build that if your good with nurse you can run survivors down.
Whilst you may believe nurse is unhealthy, she has counterplay and can be juked/outplayed. It's not impossible. Also again, stealth is massive against her.
Stealth is massive against any killer.
Plagues vile purge is a slow projectile that can infect objects(makes no difference if they are staying broken) or players( takes time to fully break someone) After that you are a tier 3 Myers without vault or lunge who glows like a giant beacon. Staying broken is quite effective since she is just an m1 killers and strong loops destroy her without corrupt
With corrupt she can’t infect anything. It can go over wall but is very slow and inprecise while nurse says ######### you to the wall and goes straight through it. She can be pallet stunned out of it(very rare mind you). Good survivors will rarely cleanse which means your playing tier 3 Myers but weaker. Nurse has her power the whole match and say ######### you to survivor defences.

Deathslinger’s double crossed skin is pretty nice
Clowns Santa or Greek skin is also great

Oh-ho, more Nurse threads? Exactly what I wanted.
I'm still of the opinion they should fix her before they Nerf her, but they really... Can't nerf her without completely reworking her. Nurse was designed when the game was different when it still had that hide and seek mentality. Probably why hiding is one of the only things you can do against her.
I agree completely but knowing the devs aren’t going to rework her I’m thinking of ways to nerf her properly assuming she does get fixed as well

2021 and people are asking for MORE nerfs on nurse... My god you guys really wish to face stridor spirits every single game right?
Learn how to break LoS. Learn how to play around her fatigue.
Learn how to juke with weird/unpredictable movement.
Learn how to force a short blink when you're in a "2nd floor" so she'll blink down.
Just learn how to play without mindlessly running to a pallet or a window and start a ring-around-the-Rosie.
Even the best nurse players (like Alf, like Tofu, like Ardetha, like - insert a nurse main name) can lose games when there's survivors who know how to play against her.
And about her incredible high skill floor, yeah, it should be like that. You should have to invest hours in a strong killer to make it worth it. That's why people hate Freddy and Spirit, they give you so much for what? Knowing where to place snares or having a good headphone?
I agree with your point about Freddy and spirit but a perfect example of a killer who rewards skill is blight. Blight requires a lot of work and map knowledge to play but doesn’t leave survivors defenceless if you’re skilled with them.
Breaking LOS only works if she can’t hear you
I can only be so unpredictable against an experienced nurse especially tracking perks
Not all maps have second floors but that can work well and I’ve done it before
Of course and sweaty Comms SWF also lose we all do doesn’t make her anymore balanced

What are we nerfing for? High tier games? Casual? You cant have this game be balanced for the simple fact its a 1v4 game. If you have it balanced survivors at high tier will always win. The killers need to keep the upper hand.
Generally casual since balancing this game around top percentage would be a disaster. Survivors should have the upper hand if all 4 of them are the same skill as the killer imo because that rarely happens especially in solo. One weak link can ruin a match for survivors and it will always be that way

Shes 1 of 2 viable killers against swfs. You want to nerf nurse then nerf swfs as well. Makes no sense to make a survivor sided game more survivor sided by nerfing a killer you rarely see at god tier.
That’s exactly what I want to do. I want to nerf nurse and spirit and the change survivors and lower tier killers accordingly

She does need m1 perks like sloppy to help with slowdown. Even with her map pressure, she can't be everywhere. Thanat is almost always used. On top of this , nurses calling is fun and used a bit.
Dh is good against almost every killer, so you will get use out of it. Only killer I can think of is huntress+ deathslinger that may make this less useful, but still has some use.
By don't be readable, I mean don't do the same things twice, and don't give her time to read you reaction. Wait for her to semi charge and then pull back on your self. Be aware of her second blink and try and dance around a tree or something (I know it sounds stupid, but it works a lot of the time as she can't reposition easily (limited time between blinks).
I would agree, but she has her normal power on top of that. She can make people broken, and gets a massive buff if they cleanse. You can also dodge and stun nurses, so that's a bit of a weird thing to say. You can also dodge nurses by switching loops when out of line of sight. Run distortion ffs, it helps against BBQ and other aura reading perks. So you will still get value.
My normal build is a stealth one, so run this if you want to juke killers in general- no matter nurses.
Lightweight, iron will, calm spirit, off the record.
A good build to make killers lose you, or not find you in the first place.
Plagues corrupt is on the same level, due to how easy it is to hit and there being no downside to missing. It's powerful for a low skill ceiling perk.
Nurse doesn’t M1 perks since most run ruin corrupt etc on her anyway. Also nurses would work on anyone since it’s just healing
DH isn’t very good against bubba or billy since they’ll be going for instadowns more than likely
Plague has no way to catch up to survivors besides her two plagued feet so if you have a lead on her you’ll buy a fair amount of time. Also plague can’t hear ######### during corrupt thanks to the whispers so it’s pretty easy to juke her mid chase so long as you aren’t sick( if you cleansed you won’t be). Also unlike corrupt nurse always has her power and is on a very short cooldown while plague firstly has to grab corrupt(If it’s even there) and the find people.
I like using those perks but I change build constantly so I might get into a nurse game with a healing build for example.

"You see but what happens if you’re injured and she hears you in the other side?"
That's why you pause a couple seconds before going back over.
"Or a patch of grass rustles next to the window?"
Why are you walking through grass? If it's the grass right on top of the window it's irrelevant because by the time you're standing in it she had already committed to going around.
"Or she can see your blood because she brought an addon?"
That's an ultra-rare. IE completely irrelevant and not worth mentioning.
"Also slow vaulting pallets can’t work due to your survivor making a sound whether injured or not"
An extremely quiet sound that 99% of Spirits aren't hearing and even if they do it's after they already committed to going around which is why you paused a couple seconds before doubling back.
"Spirit moves really fast when in phase so survivors are forced to react really quickly to nothing in a blind hope that she messes up"
Once again, stop trying to react to her. You keep giving her false information and get her to make the wrong read.
"Also footsteps are still heard while walking kind you they are pretty quiet"
Irrelevant. 99% of Spirits you face are not hearing those walking footsteps. Btw, crouching also silences you even further.
You are asking for things that are 100% counters, IE the killer would never be strong. When you're injured yes these mind games are much harder as then she has the advantage, but when you aren't injured you have the advantage and she is having to completely guess what you're doing.
This is also all counters we're talking about at base. There are also multiple perks that can make all these scenarios even much easier for you.
And before it gets brought up, no you don't have to have perks to counter her.
- pausing a couple of seconds will get you killed since she moves so fast
- sometimes you have to walk through the grass depending on the map and that’s a pretty dead giveaway. Doesn’t help that spirit herself doesn’t move it. I’ve vaulted the window and she’s kinda close to it she can go around again and hit me since her phase lasts a while and again her speed
- While rarely used it has some relevance just as stridor or iron will do
- Sure it is quiet but it’s still something a competent spirit will pick up on since I’m talking about experienced spirits
- speed is always going to be a problem regardless of what you do. If you feed her information and she falls for it she will still be on your ass immediately with the out of phase speed boost
- Again talking about experienced spirits but crouching does reduce them as well as your pain grunts and this can help but again you can’t gain real distance on her while crouching even if she messes up
Im not having trouble with mediocre spirits they are fairly easy to deal with but experienced spirits will leave you no chance and this isn’t mentioning stridor

Then people need to learn how to counter her rather than nerf other perks on her such as sloppy. Cuz it would be inadvertently nerf any play she has. Doing a Freddy on her wouldn't be healthy, as those who have spent thousands of hours to learn her would have spent it for nothing, and there's some simple counters.
Lose line of sight, don't be readable when playing or she will just kill you off.also dh is a brilliant perk against her because every swing that misses is punishing. Also stealth is an option against her.
If you cant win against her (unless somehow your against God nurses every game) then it's down to your choices and your decisions, not because she is busted. It's like saying the plague is busted because every keeps cleansing to give her corrupt , that's the survivors fault not her kit. They need to learn how to play.
I can win against lesser experienced nurses like any survivor could but her power can reach to high proportions.
Tbh nurse is so powerful she doesn’t even need m1 perks so all the nurse who play really well would barely get affected by this.
Losing LOS only does so much when the nurse can hear you(metal spoon is very common) or even see you( I’m all ears is also common on her)
While DH is very good against her I don’t know who I’m fighting befor pe the match so I could end up getting little use out of it.
Don’t be readable is kinda hard especially when the nurse has one of two said things or she’s just very experienced.
Plagues corrupt is weaker than nurse and she has a limited amount of them since you can dodge it depending on loop and you can stun her out of it so that argument makes no sense

The equivalent to you disarming his traps is forcing the Spirit to look for feedback from you. Different killers are countered in different ways.
You need to understand what Spirit sees and hears to manipulate it to give her false information. Her counter play isn't as simple as many other killers.
IE she's phasing after you (all she sees is scratch marks going to a window and hears you fast vault), now you wait a couple seconds and then slow vault back over. You manipulated the info she received here. She will phase around assuming you kept going and now she has her power on cooldown and your on opposite sides of a 110% killer who shouldn't be downing you without her power. You just gave your team at least half an entire gen of objective progress without using a single pallet or getting a single hit.
I could go on and on and on with more scenario like this.
The point for you to take away from this is what I already told you. You force Spirit to react to you, not you reacting to her. You play against her pro-actively, not re-actively.
You're trying to play against her like she's the same as other killers and then complaining that it's not working. Different problems require different solutions.
You see but what happens if you’re injured and she hears you in the other side? Or a patch of grass rustles next to the window? Or she can see your blood because she brought an addon?
Also slow vaulting pallets can’t work due to your survivor making a sound whether injured or not
Spirit moves really fast when in phase so survivors are forced to react really quickly to nothing in a blind hope that she messes up
Also footsteps are still heard while walking kind you they are pretty quiet

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/229627/nurse-nerf-idea
She takes skill and unlike blight is very slow base. She has a long fatigue after using her power, and isn't at all accurate.
It would also weaken sloppy on her, one of her few actually decent perks to combo. Your not talking about balancing, your talking about destroying. Nurse takes a lot of skill and is easily countered (except god nurses, but you rarely see those) so to say that she is broken because once she's learnt and mastered she becomes very powerful, is unhealthy is plain ridiculous. I rarely feel the need to say this in my posts, but the amount of entitlement here is ridiculous. If you get good enough at survivor, aside from playing against good players playing good killers, you are unstoppable. That's unhealthy by the same logic. We should nerf all these survivors to the ground because they can do gens ridiculously fast ect. See that logic there. It's decision making that makes survivors bad, they don't even need to play for that long to get that down. For nurse there is a plethora of things needed to master and even then it's not a confirmed win.
Nurse doesn't need a nerf just because she's powerful, her high skill ceiling deserves such power at her disposal if played Extremely well.
Since nurse is so hard to balance I want they to do a Freddy on her but since that’s not happening we need to try to balance her
Just because she takes skill doesn’t mean she should be able to win every match in 3 minutes using infectious and knockout.
Nurse cannot be balanced when new players can barely get one hit and decent players can win games in mere minutes. I like skilful killers but her skill ceiling really hurts her balance as her kill rates will always be low
Nurse needs some kind of nerf(alongside bug fixes) to make her actually balanced and good for the game

Seems you're on a bit of a nerf train today.
I'll agree with @savevatznick, that would change nothing about why she is a strong killer and she indeed can't be changed without completely gutting her (which you know, is something I'm against in general).
If you want me to talk buffs I’d gladly but I think both spirit and nurse hinder killer balance atm due to their strength. Every time lower tiers are struggling they’ll add a new perk or buff killers and these two get stronger.
Id rather they buff and nerf accordingly to around the power of blight and oni as these killers even to have very little complaints about them and they are very strong when learnt well

Because you have to play against her differently...because killer variety is good...
This is like playing against a Trapper and you want to loop the shack, then complaining that you can't loop the shack because he has traps there and asking why you should have to disarm or look for traps. It's because he's a different killer and asks different things of you.
You see I can see the trap which allows me to play around it as well as seeing trapper put the trap down. Trapping windows is very common so I’ll be on the lookout and shack is always a hot zone for traps.
Also trapper can get countered by disarm his ability. You can’t disarm a spirit phase and even if she misses she suffers minimal cooldown
-

Yeah I get you but I don’t think the devs are willing to do what they did to Freddy on her so this was the best change I could come up with

"I’ll expand on it then. Spirit is the only killer out of 22 who doesn’t give the survivor anything to work with in chase."
If you're looking for feedback to counter Spirit then you fundamentally don't understand how to play against Spirit.
You are trying to counter Spirit in the way you counter other killers which is the complete opposite of what you do.
You force Spirit to react to you, not you reacting to her.
But why should she be the only killer to not give feedback?

Because in reality, you don't.
It is possible to beat Spirits without having Iron Will.
And reading more of your comments in this thread, I don't think you're actually wanting to get an answer on how one can beat her in the current game.
Of course I want counterplay otherwise I wouldn’t be complaining about her.
I do appreciate the advice you gave me and I have used it but the reality is against a decent spirit or one with stridor it ain’t working

No Mither, Fixated, Iron Will, Calm Spirit.
She’ll never ever find you again, even if she’s running Stridor.
while this would work against spirit too bad If I’m fighting against one of the other 21 killers

No,alot of people that plays on console doesnt use headphones and even if they do they will need at least good headsets to hear survivor position. Ive played many times with stridor and iron will counter it 100%,survivors with that perk are totally silent. Spirit is a strong killer but not a braindead one and doesn’t need another nerf,on the other hand nurse is not only a strong killer but a very strong killer above any other killers. Strong killers SHOULD EXIST!!!!!!!! In any games theres strong things than others, for example in nba, pes, fifa, nfl etc theres very strong teams and weaker teams. In cod, battlefield etc theres stronger weapons and weaker weapons etc......i would not enter into more details but im sure you understand
Check the wiki if you want iron will gets countered by stridor. Headphones are a must if you want to play this game and win especially for killer

Spirit doesn't need a nerf at all. You can't see her, but guess what... she can't see you either! And she can't hear you if you crouch.
She's 100%, ad she has a cooldown on her power too. And she leaves clues in the environment, same as you do (birds, footsteps, etc).
She's all about the mind-games, and you have to play them back - will you vault the window? which side of the pallet that you just dropped are you on? etc.
She's absolutely counterable. Do not confuse your inability to play against her as her being overpowered and in need of a nerf.
You're not meant to escape every game, all the time. There's four of you, split up, do gens, use strategy. End of.
Your pain grunts are reduced by crouching but she can still hear them
Using her power in short bursts alleviates the cooldown
Birds are going to be alerted by you first unless you have calm spirit and footsteps can be heard but by the time you hear them you’re dead since she moves so fat
mindgames can’t happen when you’re injured and she can hear you.
I know I can’t win every chase but I want my skill to mean something. Balance chase killers are huntress and billy

The way to beat spirit is gen rush. She has to commit to chases. She can't be 4 places at once. Remember the game is 4v1 not 1v1. Stop thinking chases are just 1v1. Its not. Only selfish baddies thinks that. Your goal against spirit chases is to waste enough of her time for gens to get done. If you split up she loses. If you group together. Then well its easier for her.
The way to beat every killer is to gen rush

Y'know, I never understood the whole "bUt ThE WhoLe POINt IS NOt gIvING yOU inFO" angle.
Every single other killer, before and after spirit, gives you info. Audio, visual, you name it. Because it's incredibly important for both sides to have something to work with so chases are.. y'know, fair. But not Spirit, I guess.
Imagine if we were playing CS:GO and they decided to put in a gun for the Counter Terrorists that shot around walls and auto-aimed for the head. No need for aiming or cover or risking your head, just boom. We can even give it some dumbass high-tech explanation that makes it fit. And everyone complains about it because it's busted.
"BuT tHE whOLe PoINt Is beING SaFe whILe shOOtInG"
That sure is the whole point, yes.
Doesn't make it any less busted, unhealthy, and out-of-style. You get to ignore the careful positioning and aiming a firefight that practically defines CS:GO because something is working as intended. You get to ignore the back-and-forth feedback of info in chases that helps make them so fun because Spirit is working as intended.
Exactly my point. This killer needs to be changed on design principles alone

Being injured already has a huge risk of shorter chases

I disagree, spirit without a headset is literally useless and unplayable so to play her first you need a headset. Even with a headset if a survivor has iron will, stridor spirit cant hear them and thats your first counter. Her power doesnt need 2 seconds to reload like nurse but alot more wich make her alot weak in comparison. Nurse needs a nerf,a good nurse(not the best one)can end any game in 2 minutes
Firstly any killer worth their time will use headphones and secondly stridor counteracts iron will. If you use your power in short bursts the cooldown can be like 5-8 seconds which is very short
Agreed though nurse is stronger and needs a nerf too

You loop the killer easy and you dont camp pallet like you are used to you can try to escape tge chase too instead of trying to buy time for your teamate
I don’t camp pallets period since it’s a bad idea and there’s no winning a chase against spirit only her giving up on you. If the spirit is good you’re going down
