Lmao there's literally Otzdarva in many of his streams camping and tunneling survivors with his 8k hours in the game at mid-high MMR. Many other great players at mid-high MMR are getting tunneled/camped. It happens. Just because you think something, it doesn't mean you actually know it.

Oh good, another long winded explanation from a "I play both sides" player as to why "insert x" is valid. I think it's about time for another break from the forums.
Agreed.

It would need at least a 5 game track for the penalty.
I just got peeved because i had 6 games in a row where someone just left asap for seemingly no reason or because the killer was proxy. The thing is that Kindred showed me why the killer was there. The survivor they were after was looping at the hook or just standing there.
Finally had a win streak to get me out of mmr hell and it was ruined by this. I guess it wasn't a skilled play by me to join a match with these people without reading their mind.
Yea know the feels, that's not fun.

Would people be against a chapter that introduced 2 new killers and only 1 survivor?
Sounds great! Add Psycho Mantis and Man on Fire as killers and Solid Snake as survivor, tyvm! ❤️

Idk I don't speak on their behalf.
And yes, I agree that in some cases it's really not valid, but in a few it is. But to remove it completely as a mechanic just because of a few is nonsensical to me. They could make it so that if a player does suicide on hook two games in a row, they then get penalised, same as with DC-ing.

Your logic is flawed by blind us vs them bias.
Forcing a survivor to stay in the game is not a buff to the killer... a survivor leaving asap makes the game easier if not a free win for the killer.
No. You're just making statements based on assumptions. I never specified when SD-ing on hook would be okay. Or which buffs I meant. Also, I play both sides equally so don't give me that nonsense argument of me making it us vs them.
I don't struggle much as a killer to get a 3k/4k. I don't camp nor tunnel. If a surv does suicide on 1st hook early game or DC's, I do go easy on the others. Because I know how that feels as a surv.
As survivor, I play 99% soloq, and I've had many games in a row where I've gotten face-camped on 5 gens, hard-tunneled, or where other players are too afraid to go for hook rescue. After a certain amount of games, I'm done with wasting my time and do as I please. I don't owe my free time to survivors that are hiding in the bushes or not going for a save. I'd rather just move on to the next game.
Obviously, I wouldn't do that in a team where people are actually trying to play the game and aren't just hiding. But you do you. 🤷

Surv: Flashbang ✨
Killer: Snitches from the shadows

If it messes up matchmaking then please add some penalty.
Fair point, however, I don't think a penalty is the way to go. The main reason I dodge lobbies is when I suspect a player might be a cheater/using exploits, and sadly I've come across a lot of sus players/hackers. Another obvious one is bad ping.

@Zozzy said:
Seriously, Why is this mechanic still in the game? A survivor should not have the option to struggle and then miss two skill checks to leave asap. It ruins the game for the other survivors because they are forced to face the basement camping bubba and waste time or the survivor will just leave. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
If the survivor wants out then they can take a nifty 5 minute penalty or sit on that hook for the full duration. It's mind boggling that this has not been removed since the solution is to smash gens and out, but you can't because of this!!
If I waited out the timer or took the "5 minutes" after every game I got face-camped and tunneled to death I'd be penalised for a week lmao. Better to uninstall the game at that point and move to something less toxic ✌️
But yeah, sure. Take more away from survivors, nerf them into the ground and give more buffs to whiney killers.
-
Idk why but the 3's are the worst to get out of. I always get stuck in gold 3 and iri 3 the longest.
Also zero DH-players... that's new. 🧐

Myers can't one-shot down when he's undectatable and can't get to T3 as fast as GF can stalk someone. GF would basically be an undectatable, one-shot down killer if survivors weren't able to cancel his power.
They could've made it take a bit longer for him to expose a survivor, but then he'd just be a tiny Myers with a GF mask. It's sad that he seems to be a slightly modified version of Myers.
It would've been so cool if a part of his powers was him being able to seem like a fellow survivor for a short amount of time. Considering that's his element of surprise in the movies as well. Imagine mid-chase thinking you've lost him and seeing a fellow teammate, only for it to turn out to be him 😈
-
I know that this is an old post, but I was wondering why can he be revealed at all?
Why isn't GF the same as Michael? If he stalks you then that should be it, either outrun it or deal with it. It's so odd to me that they have the same sort of power but GF's comes with quite a huge disadvantage.
-
Oooh I didn't even think of a token-based perk change, but that's actually a v good idea!

A centaur for killer? 🤔
-
Yes, it'd be really nice for most M1 killers. However, I'd say it should definitely have a longer cooldown. A Nurse or Blight with such a perk is otherwise just too evil.
Did you have any thoughts on changing it?
-
It would be amazing if the zombies were better and didn't walk into walls/trees. Perhaps had a bit more range when attacking a survivor.
Other than that I think he's pretty great! I love combining the Depleted Ink Ribbon and T-virus sample add-ons. As soon as they spawn I just hit the two zombies and then just one survivor and then it's just game on 😈
-
No thank you. With the number of face-campers and hard-tunnelers, stacking those perks is sometimes the only way to get through a trial in SoloQ. UB and DS are conditional perks and are absolutely useless if the killer doesn't tunnel and goes for the unhooker instead or the gen jokey's, DS is wasted then and the survivor is probably doing nothing to help their teammates. Don't slug survivors for so long that they can use UB, very simple.
In most of my games the killers are using Corrupt, DMS and PR, which makes doing gens, unhooking, healing and getting rid of totems in case of NOED an absolute hell.
-
I almost exclusively play SoloQ and I've noticed the type of teammates you get depends a lot on the time of day! If you're the last survivor to join a lobby or if you notice 3 survivors get added to it at once, I'd leave it. Because SWF's mostly don't care about the random.
Another thing that could help is trying to play the game more stealthy and sometimes just be more selfish until your MMR goes up and you get paired up with better teammates.
-
I'd love for Unrelenting to have been more like Mad Grit, without having to carry a survivor. I think that would be hilarious. Though in that case there should probably be a timer and max number of hits on it or something like that.
-
Omg it's so cute! 💕

Oh I know they exists. I exists too. And my suggestion wasn't to cut out evidence of the existence of others. My suggestion was to make it optional so the inclusion of all can continue in peace. The pride charms caused division in this community and its disheartening to see.
No, what's disheartening is that with everything that's going on in the world people can still be petty enough to be bothered by an inclusion charm in a video game. If it's that hard to deal with, maybe just don't look at it?

Good. He was a snitch!😤

Survivors: I switch between Meg and Leon. Meg was the first survivor I played, because of her perks. And Leon because I'm a sucker for RE and him, also I just love using flashbangs 🤷
Killers: Wraith because he is fast and everything in this game felt SO SLOW (mind you, I started playing this game after MGS Rising) 💀 and now I mostly main Nemi, because he is amazing at vaults/pallets and I love that he straight up punches survivors 😂
-
I mean.. they're bringing out new killers/survivors and perks every 3 months, aside from giving some love to some of the older killers/perks. They have events in between as well. They've already said they're changing up a lot of things; 40 perks, the prestige system and so on. Of course, bugs aren't fun but this is their work... not their whole life lol 😅
I wish some of the other games I play that came out years ago got so much love and so many updates!

The ones that do this are RPD, Haddonfield, and Garden of Joy, right? Eyrie came out after RPD but doesn't have the markings.
I don't like it as a universal thing, but it makes sense on all of those maps because they all have windows or railings that aren't actually open, and it isn't immediately clear that some balconies are vault points without the visual indicator. So the yellow tarp serves a very helpful function as a "vault here" sign. Off the top of my head, there's a vault on Campbell's Chapel (on the Clown's cart) that could use this sort of treatment.
Again, I wouldn't want to start seeing tarps everywhere (it would really hurt the aesthetics of a lot of maps, imagine Temple or Dead Dawg slathered in caution tape), but on maps with misleading decor or on vaults that don't actually look like vaults, it's good to have.
It doesn't have to be done with yellow tarp though. They could use that same indicator but for example in Temple use green vines, with RPD use the BOW goo or whatever that goes with the aesthetics of the maps! That would be very nice for newer players as well.
Although I do love the "secret" window on Mother's Dwelling and the one in The Game, even if the latter is quite useless lol.

That's an awful thing to do to the killers though. After taking the extra time to do a basement hook the survivor pops up right next to a team-mate halfway across the map? How about poor Trapper & Hag, after they get an area carefully set up but no way to actually hook a survivor in there to lure in others?
Sorry, that's way unbalanced.
Oh no, not the basement ones those should stay as they are or have one of them be a scourge hook!
I meant the regular ones on the map itself, it would be nice if they had some sort of timer, that would send the survivor elsewhere IF the killer stayed for X minutes within X radius of said hook.
-
@ColonGlock said:
I personally would be fine with hooked survivors teleporting to a hook at some empty part of the map.
Love this idea! Like what Pyramid Head does when he cages a survivor instead of hooking them. That way the game just progresses and everyone has something to do.

Anyone else had this happen? I'v had many matches where mutiple of my teamates who were completly healthy, went up against a killer with no noed, and somtimes had borrowed time just crouched and pointed for some reason and let your guts be ripped out and draged into the aybess
(Also sorry for any spelling or grammer mistakes btw)
Yes, a lot. Even during mid-game, I've been left to die on 1st hook after having looped the killer for 3 gens. So I started bringing Deliverance. If you notice this happening a lot in 1 day just bring Deliverance or play selfishly until you notice your teammates are not like that.
@Crowman said:
Ultimately there's no reward for risking your own life in the end game to save someone else and since mmr only cares about whether you escaped or died and no other context then it just makes sense to escape to hopefully keep getting good teammates.
If it's Leon or Steve on the hook you bet I'll risk my life for them or die trying lmao.

Lmao why does the 2nd paragraph read as if it's the Trapper's 'about me' on Hooked On You? 💀🤣

you're lucky to have a breath of fresh air while playing killer, usually it's a bit rancid
It might be because I don't take playing Killer as seriously. I'm perfectly okay with 3K's and giving hatch or exit to the last survivor, if they weren't terribly toxic. Don't get me wrong tho, if there is a macroflashlighter who wants my attention, they will have it undivided, till death do us part 😈
-
Wait looks like he's going back to the same village Ethan went to! Is Leon going to have to do the same as Ethan did?
-
Yeah, I can completely relate. Honestly when so many survivor games go wrong switching to Killer can be a breath of fresh air! I've also noticed the skillset of fellow teammates is very time-dependent.
I'm going back to being Solid Snake and goofing around in a cardboard box, Blendettes have got nothing on this ultimate stealth mode 😎
-
Demo! I feel like he could destroy the Oni and stay with me forever <3
-
I really don't understand why DH is such a huge issue.
I find the actual issue to be deciding to chase someone for 2 minutes or longer when you can see them chain loops, and if you aren't able to bait DH and catch up with BL, you still go for them. Unless you're practicing your own chase/mindgaming skills, then it's a none issue.
Prolonging chases can easily be done by 99-ing Sprint Burst, using a medkit with Styptic/Syringe, or even with Overcome. It's not just DH.

I entered the amount on the last page, since it didn't specify which number to use. Should everyone that entered the amount on the last page redo all 7 surveys?
I've done the same thing, but I noticed the total BP on the last page sometimes differs from the one on the first page regardless of BP offerings/BP-related perks 😅
-
I'm quite new to the forum, but this is already the umpteenth post I've come across that is repeating the same thing.
I'm genuinely wondering why not just play all 3 games? Or just stop playing DBD for a while if so many things about it are bothering you.
Is it a sunk cost fallacy issue with the amount of time investment that makes you come back to play it despite all that you've mentioned? Or perhaps naive hope that things might change in the way you want and not per se in the way the devs want?
-
Don't come for me, but the objective to do just gens to power up the exits. It would've been really nice if there was something else you could do that required somewhat of thinking/skill, rather than looking at a progression bar whilst you move your mouse as if you're in an FPS game to stay alert lol.

What survey? The "Did you have fun?" thing?
No. When you start up your game, you can find it under the News section. It's a survey about the amount of earned BPs after a match vs the skill of the players in comparison to you and amongst themselves.

Monday was horrendous when I was playing survivor. Sweaty huntress when a survivor disconnects 1 minute into the game, and she fakes that she’s gonna let me escape and instead I get moried. I went up against a nurse that only got 2 hooks which were on me as she really only went for me. Then a new unhooks me and doesn’t take a hit and the nurse just goes for me as I didn’t have bt and I had taken ds off. So I died putting up the most points. I had a sprit game where she would hit everyone on the hook for no real reason but to be toxic. I had a bubba game where he got a weird hit with his saw but ok. Then he start to camp with 1 gen left in a 3v1. I killed myself on the hook I’m not wasting my time. It was a streamer too. If it was any other killer I wouldn’t have stayed but it’s a bubba and I’m not getting off. I had a bunch of other bad games with a lot of bad teammates. The last one was an artist who tried to tunnel me off the hook with all the gens done. Luckily my teammates 99ed the gate and I dsed her. That was the only game I escaped that day. Also a lot of legions it was so freaking annoying. This was all solo que too
This!! Idk if they were testing some things on Monday, but I had the same experience.
Also wasn't it going to be a thing that survivors who DC or kill themselves on hooks a lot will get paired more and more with others that do the same?
-
As many have said break LOS asap. Once you load into a map just look at where the main buildings/jungle gyms are so if you have to loop you can get there asap. Be unpredictable. Don't use the same mindgames against her you'd use against other killers.
Iron Will is amazing against her (same goes for Spirits). If you don't want to loop her and just want to get away, Lucky Break can be a pretty decent perk! Combine it with IW and you're all set! :)
Also if you have a flashlight you can burn her and stop her from blinking, though I wouldn't do that if you're the one in a chase, it's a great way to help a teammate out.
-
Why does it seem like this survey is just to find out if earning X BP's makes players want to play more/less, rather than wanting to play more because of proper matchmaking.
-
Well for one, people often have the expectation to be treated the same way they treat others, to some extent. If you're in it to be toxic and someone mirrors your behaviour, it'll all be the same to you and vice versa.
I had 5 games in a row with face-camping killers, and I mean literally them standing in front of you/body-blocking hook rescues. One of which decided to chainsaw me on hook non-stop from 1st hook until I died. I stayed alive for as long as possible so the others could do gens, just to see a teammate work with the killer and point out the only other remaining survivor, got them killed, then in typical DBD fashion got hatch themself.
So yes, I consider that type of gameplay toxic. I don't think anyone wants to waste their leisure time on BS. They want to have fun. If they wanted to have their mood ruined, they could've just watched the news.

Survivors get a free second chance where they can attempt a hook escape on their own with a 4% chance of succeeding. How about a 4% for killer, where if the killer hooks a survivor they have a 4% chance of instantly reaching second stage?
Or are second chances just exclusive to survivors?
If you count SoloQ that 4% chance already exists ;)
-
I almost always play SoloQ. Because of different time zones, I play SWF once in a blue moon. Overall SoloQ is enjoyable, but there are some games that can be very frustrating.
Killers face-camping/hard-tunneling because u had the audacity to loop them is one thing.
But farming survivors or the damn bunny Feng's that work with the killer to get everyone else killed/pull you on/off the hook until you die... yeah I have nothing nice to say about those players. That has happened often enough that I dodge lobbies with Feng players.
Nea's on the other hand are some of the best teammates! <3
-
Artist, Bubba, and Hag.
The first two mostly because of the sound they make >.<
-
I do. Especially if it's a survivor that seems more new to the game or heck even if they're amazing, they can have it.
If it takes to long to find, I just let them open the door.
-
@dugman said:
I’ll never understand why survivors refuse to leave when they’re all healthy at the exits unless the killer literally forces them out. I’m not going to chase survivors I literally can’t stop from escaping, it’s pointless, at that point I just look for the hatch to see if I can close it or break pallets or just look around to see if maybe I can catch a survivor who neglected to run to the Exit.
I usually do this to say some sort of goodbye, like leaving behind my item and letting them get another hit so they get more BP. If it's Pig they usually wanna get booped, GF's love to moonwalk or meme so that's always a fun end to the game xD One very smart GF played with us at the gate so much so that he exposed us and got us to go back to him and downed us and had Blood Warden! Never laughed so hard during a game, that was a chef's kiss of a strat!
But I don't stand there to TB or to be toxic.

Yes I have always thought of this. but hen again they would have to make 2 cosmetics for every 1. unless they do a overlay type thing
I was thinking that they already have the skins template right, maybe they could just take that and add an overlay or filter to it with the bloody cosmetics? And instead of it showing as 2 separate skins, you can just click on the default "colour" or the bloody one. But that's just wishful thinking xD
