  • Honestly, what majority though? It's all heresay until the updates go live and people actually put money where their mouth is. Until then I'd take everything anyone says with a grain of salt.

Besides if those types of killers can't play without hard camping, tunneling or slugging then I'd say good riddance to them. They weren't making the game fun anyway.

  • @EternalRique said:

What I wonder is how they'll ID someone giving up vs someone who just isn't good at the game.

    Example: Running towards the killer.

I've had survivors run towards me not knowing I'm there and getting downed, I have friends who aren't good at looping run right into the killer. I feel unless the game will get an in-game recorder (to review playback) like Overwatch 2 or Fortnite, I'm a little worried of the accuracy of the system.

Considering this is DBD, it's going to be disasterous as with almost everything that has been implemented in this game. What if your unhooker is injured and you're taking a hit for them? Would that count towards that as well? There are so many scenarios wherein survivors run into a killer not even realising, I've even done it with scratch mirror Myers.

    Imagine getting penelised for that.

    >Mending is a mild inconvenience at best since it only takes 6 seconds

    >Mending can be delayed, prolonged, and 99'd to try to manipulate his positioning

    "😭😭😭Please remove this character"

Have you ever considered, just for maybe once in your life, that you are the problem? There is no way that you can ignore all of the above and actually think Legion deserves to be disabled without being cripplingly narcissistic.

First of all, you need to calm down. Have you considering for once in YOUR life that this is in no way a normal manner to speak to others? About a VIDEO GAME nonetheless.

OP is clearly frustrated and rightfully so, because 2v8 is a wild gamble with who you're going to get as teammates and whether they know to loop/counter Legion. Not only that, there is no hiding from Legion's obnoxious power and paired with a good teammate it can be a horrendous game. This game mode is supposed to be FUN. It's supposed to NOT be sweaty, it's meant to be different from your average 1v4 games.

Besides if you're facing a lot of Legions game after game then I understand OP's frustration. Most people know how disgusting Legion is in this game mode and play it just because of that. From your post I'm sure you're one of those people.

  • This has been happening for so long now, I'm surprised nothing has been done about it yet. There was even a video made about it a week ago…

  • Colour wise and some aesthetics are a bit similar, but I definitely wouldn't say plagarised. Inspired by? Maybe.

  • Nope, it's Legion, Legion, Legion, Blight, with Legion, everyone and their grandma's are playing Legion.

I got caged on a hill in endgame. The bot ran circles around the hill until I hit struggle stage and then ran out the exit.

It's infuriating that you're forced to play with a bot upon loading in. Not because someones crashed or DC-ed, but FORCED. If that weren't enough the bots are useless AF. All they is run around, walk in a circle around a hook or survivor that needs healing, instead of actually doing anything, opening chests and taking the herbs.

IDK why BHVR is so set on ruining their own game and their players' experience. These devs istg.

Doesn’t make it right. Nor a good experience when you’re trying to just play the game.

Did I say that it did? Tell it to BHVR. Though I don't think they give a f when people keep playing it anyway and they have all the licenses they want.

Where do they get the 5th survivor from and why does he suffer from the same skill issue the other 4 suffer from?

    Clown.

  • The event is dogshit. IDK why anyone in their right mind would want to play survivor on this mode.

You're weaker than ever before, and killers are just hard-tunneling off bat or 5 man slugging.

    FUN.

  • Yes, and? You asked why and I explained why some do from my experience.

Yours isn't that of everyone else, and just because you go "he wasted his time" doesn't mean the thousands if not millions of other players have the same mindset in such a moment. Especially not if something like that happens consecutively.

So again, YOU asked why, and I gave you one of the answers.

  • You're very right, most topics tend to get diverted or they take a very lateral turn until a mod steps in and eventuelly locks the post or deletes it.

But I'll be honest, the forum isn't what it used to be anymore and that is because a lot of the people who used to be on here, who would have a proper discussion/conversation, try to hear you out, and offer actual tips/advice or propose possible solutions, are no longer active (or have been kicked out of the fog). Which is a shame.

To your point, the second one, I personally wouldn't say that it's fine when someone does that. It is still diverting the main topic of discussion. Instead of trying to solve your issue or address it, they add another one into the mix, which doesn't help anyone get anywhere.

I think the best way to not let these things bother you or get under your skin is by agreeing to disagree with them (because multiple things can be right or wrong at the same time). Or just refraining from replying to them in the first place. I hope that makes you feel less like you're talking to the proverbial wall (even if it's by a small margin). Take care!

  • I've usually seen people DC after such a much when the killer slugs them and tries to bleed them out. I don't condone it but I do get it. Who would like that? To be unable to play or do anything for 4 minutes just so the killer can get a kick out of whatever powertrip its on?

  • It's DBD, I'd honestly be shocked and disturbed if we didn't have bugs. You'd KNOW something is wrong in the world then.

  • @Mr_K said:

The glove toolbox addon will prevent notification. You can get many stealth breaks that way.

they can't bring that it's too "meta" for them. I'd save sensible advice for someone else lmao.

Oh I didn't run around Sabotaging hooks back to back aimlessly, cause that would be a throw, that's why I didn't take a toolbox because you could just run hook to hook. 😅

The idea here was to trigger notifications on route to things, and in between actions. I'd still be moving to and doing gens nomally, going for unhooks and saves, etc, but be source of constant confusion for the killer. It doesn't work if you spam, just every now and again trigger a noise notification makes it less obvious which perks/notifications you can trust. I averaged about 2 noise notifications every 60s or so. 😅

I play usually without meta perks, mostly cause I believe it makes you reliant upon them. If you can regularly survive off the base survivor mechnics to a reasonable degree, then you can always turn things up a gear if you need to... if you're always running at max kilter and then hit a wall, there's nowhere to go from here 😅

So for me this isn't far removed from playing the game how I do normally 😅

Did you call Built to Last and Sabboteur meta? Ok.😅😅😅😅 GL with your challenge lmao. Here have some more of this emote since you love it so much 😅😅😅😅

  • I don't understand your perks and the no item choice. Why are you making it way more difficult than it needs to be?

You're doing a sabo-challenge without a sabo-toolbox, which has an add-on that silences your sabotages to the killer. You could bring Built to Last to replenish your toolbox and Saboteur as a perk; a last resort to get it done. The other 2 perk-slots can be used for something else that helps you or your teammates (like Resi, Prove, Leader and so on).

I've seen plenty of people run around the map right off spawn and sabbotage as many hooks as they can, just to get it over with, without disrupting the game for themselves or others. I think your build and perks can be as toxic as you make them be. They don't have to be.

    @Skillfulstone said:

Not at all, a "toxic" build would be something like Head On, Flashbang, Blast Mine and Champion of Light, complete with a purple Beamer with best duration add-ons.

(Head-on stun, drop Flashbang which hinders the Killer, run away. Bonus annoyance if the Survivor manages a chain blind from afar. Blast Mine replaces the first two steps due to blind.)

Your build actually has a strategic utility other than burning away the Killer's retina.

And since they apparently got destroyed, with several rage DC, it's likely not your build that was the breaking point. Chances are they got looped to oblivion (while getting blinded at every pallets) and teabagged so much by your teammates they just didn't want to deal with it anymore.

Honestly I'd rather deal with a diversion build than a blind build. At least it's rather novel and amusing.

Those are just perks and aren't "toxic". Simply using perks or items or add-ons doesn't make one toxic. If you're getting flashbanged, head-oned or blast mined more than once then that's a skill issue.

  • I feel like WoO is wonderful for newer players, SoloQ, or when we get a new map in a new realm. It allows people to learn the map and get used to the newer tiles, especially now that we're getting more diverse tiles in general. It's no longer junglegym, 4-wall, or L/Z. A great example of that is the Nostramos map, which has some very unusual tiles.

For SoloQ it's an informative perk. Not only do you get to see where a window/pallet/breakable wall is, you can see which pallets your teammates have already dropped, and if you're close enough you can see where a teammate in being chased (that is if they're dropping pallets). Which is great imo.

  • As long as the game counts Kills as Wins, has archives and dailies that require kills, killers will do just that. No matter how efficiently or inefficiently a tactic is.

It's a 4v1, if you play killer enough you'll understand how it's like to be matched against very good survivor teams and good 4-man SWF. That si disregarding all the second-chance perks and items survivors can bring, which again is 4 to 1.

You can battle tunneling by doing gens, aside from that it's changing DBD's core game as a whole, changing its achievements, archives and tomes that require 4Ks and so on.

  • There are certain countries that don't allow for certain content being sold to their people. They have different rules and regulations when it comes to International transactions/products (digital or in any other form). One example of this is that certain types of Mori's aren't allowed to be dipicted in numerous countries. The same could be the case for Skins/animations.

That aside Licence holders also have their own rules/list of demands. So it might be either one of these two reasons as to why it's not purchasable in your country/region. It is, however, up to the seller to state where it can and cannot be purchased.

Option one is not possible I think, but they need to give them a refund and IMO additional auric cells as an apology

They should give him a full refund AND an apology. What they did is literally stealing from him and others.

  • This is just being a thief. At the bare minimum they should've given him his AC, because it doesn't even comst BHVR anything, they already got his money. That being said BHVR needs to state WHERE what is purchasable and isn't.

Why are you selling something in regions you're not allowed to/can't due to regulations? The only possible answer to that question isn't a nice one and will mostly definitely not reflect kindly on BHVR.

Shame on you and your corporate greed.

  • Who cares what he thinks. You payed for the game, play it however YOU want.

it’s in the ptb patch notes in the bugfix section under characters.

Found it! Hadn't seen that I had to scroll all the way down to see the PTB patch notes 😅 Thanks for explaining!

  • Where was this stated though? I can't find it in any of Dev updates/PTB news etc.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

Persistence above all else, I'd say.

    In what?

  • I think what happens is that newer players sort of get thrown into the sea without having much knowledge of the game, it's mechanics, all the different killers with their respective perks and add-ons, and it's A LOT. So when the game pairs you against opponents that are often not on your level it leads for some to what you described.

They will use the tactics that does work for them. It may not be fun for everyone, it may not be skillfull, but let's be honest, can we blame them? Or anyone else for that matter?

The devs are slowly but surely removing the things that require actual skill from the game, and even when you still can do anything of that degree the game itself doesn't reward you for it. Let's say you loop some of the strongest killers on high MMR for 4 to 5 gens, but then you get downed and hooked, get face-camped in end-game and end up dying. Your chase, its duration, the looping, mind-gaming etc. none of it will matter.

According to the current game's standards: you died thus you lost. So if there is little to no incentive for skillful plays, zero to no rewards and your opponents bring meta-perks and strong items, why shouldn't the killers then do what works for them?

  • @MrMori said:

It's not reportable since it's during EGC, but it is honestly embarrassing that BHVR haven't done something about stuff like this already. Why blocking people like this purely to grief is still possible is absurd. All they need to do is make it so survivors with crows lose collision, that's it. It would have zero impact on regular gameplay, and even if it did once in a thousand games, it would be well worth it for the many times it would solve issues like this.

It's the easily fixable, incredibly frustrating pain points like this that make people not take BHVR seriously when they ask for Labor of Love.

I'm not asking whether it's reportable or not. I don't think that game "mechanics" like this should be possible when they are reportable and some even bannable. You would think that as a Dev you would want to prevent this specific type of grieving from happening in the first place, instead of making it so that players can report it. Like how hard is it to make a survivor with crows lose collision?

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3859702#Comment_3859702

The thing is, there is no real evidence, not even anecdotally, of anyone getting banned or even reprimanded for working with the killer in this mild manners. Maybe if you ran around with Bond and let the killer to ALL the survivors, but in basiacally all other instances, I guess its filed as some "survival strategy".

On the other hand, I wouldn't want to be banned as the killer, just because a survivor pointed at ONE locker at the end of the game, and there just happens to be a survivor in that one. "Working with the killer" is pretty wide and undefined, so that it offers a lot of wriggle room, and thats probably so that some leeway is given, but at least in theory, the very blatant culprits could be banned, if needed.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3859664#Comment_3859664

Indeed! The loosing collision solution seems so obvious, that I am equally baffled by this. BHVR probably has their reasons, something along the lines of "this leads to more interesting plays" or whatever, but I still don't get it, and even after 3k hours of playing I can't come up with any situation that warrents the countless other misserable and vibe-killing moments.

That wasn't the point of my post. The point was that body-blocking in instances where like this, where you get crows, should make you lose collision or something else to solve the matter. I didn't raise as a question about whether this is or should be bannable or can be reported or not.

  • @AlexXHunter44 said:

In 1k hours I've been body blocked once. I don't think this is the problem you're making it out to be

I have +/-4k in this game and have seen this happen often enough to decide to make a post about it. If you don't have anything of value to contribute then maybe don't, considering this doesn't concern you. Perhaps you're the type to work with killers and grieve teammates.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

In this particular scenario, I'm afraid it's not a bannable offense, as the game can and will end within a given timeframe. That, of course, does not mean it isn't a scummy thing to do.

As for solutions, I've already mentioned this in other threads, but survivors losing collission when they have AFK crows seems like it would solve so many instances of actually problematic bodyblocking…

    Working with the killer is.

  • @Nazzzak said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3859661#Comment_3859661

Not sure if you've ever reported survivors for working with the killer but in my experience nothing is done about that unfortunately. I've spent time recording and uploading info several times and working with the killer has consistently never resulted in even a slap on the wrist. I'd be surprised if anyone has ever been banned for that offence.

While I dislike survivors like that with a passion, the fault lays with the game, because it allows them to do so.

Why is it bannable yet so easy to do for players? Maybe prevent it instead of making it bannable.

  • @BlackRabies said:

The body blocking happened only during the EGC? Sure it's scummy, but least the EGC was active and will force the game to end so not as bad. Would've been bannable offense if the EGC wasn't active.

ECG or not this shouldn't be possible. It really isn't fun to die at the exit gate like that because you don't want to farm.

  • @Boons123 said:

Over the past 3 months: All the killers I've played against have had the exact same strategy Sulg the 3rd survivor to looking for 4th survivor, Some killers were not satisfied with 3 and a half minutes, they went as far as carrying the survivor who was 5 seconds away from death and Hooking the survivor to milk more time.

Literally not a single match did the killer not use this strategy.

Before the addition of the Survivor Bot this extremely greedy strategy did not exist because the Survivor could simply DC to give the last Survivor the hatch.

As usual we see the same greedy argument that the survivor shouldn't get the hatch, without the hatch the tunnel and proxy camping become stronger than before and also how do you expect the last survivor to fix generators and escape the chase? The survivor was not designed to be self-sufficient.

I don't know what's the fun in wasting 4 minutes of my time on something that's not fun and not interactive, just greed for 4k as if there's a reward that 3k doesn't provide, just kill the third survivor and let this player continue the game instead of using the player as a timer.

If you can't kill the fourth survivor, it's not the end of the world, your device screen won't explode, the game won't consider you a loser. On the contrary, killing 3 survivors is considered a win, and the survivor escaping through the hatch is not considered a win for the survivor or a loss, it will be considered a draw for the survivor.

I think the biggest issue is that the Devs do not care whatsoever if your time gets wasted, be it by being slugged, be it by wasting it on the bloodweb. There are so MANY aspects to this game that can be refined and optimalised, but aren't. For them it doesn't matter, regardless of what happens to the player because you're already wasting time playing their game in the first place. They're getting your money, so why should they care about your experience?

  • The amount of sweat that is going on in this event, slugging all around or hard-tunneling lol. So many skillful players! But that is only IF they game doesn't lag tf out and actually let's you open the lobby.

I honestly would care about people like that as much as BHVR does about the amount of bugs in their game :)

  • what a dogshit event. Insane lag, nothing works, and everyone is sweating their asses off. So fun.

  • People who want to abuse busted perks will do so, they're opportunitist.

  • @Shroompy said:

Pretty sure they said they have no intentions of bringing them back.

Same goes for the Hawkins achievement

Is it in case it gets removed again or something? I just realised Demo didn't have an Adept after "getting" his :')

  • Everyone above P1 can already bring some of the best. Level 50 bloodweb doesn't say anything since it is very random what you'll get.

As killer sometimes I will get 1 Iri add-on after 3 or 4 level 50 bloodwebs, while with my other killers I might get 3 or none. Just because that is the case for YOU or SOME, doesn't necessarily mean that everyone's BW is flooded with iri's or other great items

  • @bluesidesoul said:

This new system where the killer can automatically kill the last survivor has made it where every match ends with slugging while the killers bm you on the ground. Either add basekit unbreakable when there are two survivors left or remove entirely. It's ######### insane how many killers slug as if their whole family will die if they don't get the last pity mori. I love it, don't you guys!

This is exactly why I've made my veryyyyyy old build my new one AKA bringing ALL the boons 😎 and so do my friends.

    Exponentional, Shadowstep and CoH.

If I notice any uptick in killers playing a certain way during my gaming time I will bring those. You wanna slug, good luck snuffing 3 boons first, good luck finding survivors with your aura-reads blocked, and all the anti-healing perks lol. If the opposite wants to play nasty, well guess what 4 others can do that as well <3 Put in 4 map offerings whilst we're at it.

I think the only way to make the Devs realise something is too abuseble is by going about it this way, asking anything normally by explaining and giving actual arguments goes to deaf ears.

  • @Malkhrim said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3843007#Comment_3843007

It WILL solve most of the problem simply because the things you describe take longer and are punishable. Killing yourself unhook is simple, almost instant, takes action only from you and not the killer, and it's not banable.

On the other hand, AFKing is already a reportable offense and you would have to wait for the killer to come get you in order to get to the next match, potentially taking LONGER than the DC Penalty you would get by DCing normally.

And running into the killer? If a survivor does that, anyone can report them for working with the killer and refusing to participate in normal gameplay. It would also require action from the killer's end in order to be completed, they could just ignore or slug the griefer instead.

So most people who give up would mostly just DC anyway. The ones who didn't would waste a lot of time and eventually get banned.

It still won't solve the problem. Make it less prevalent by a bit maybe. They should add more incentives or bots regardless of what other idea they come up with, so that the other teammates aren't duped.

lmaooo ‘but but but… my Up The Ante value!’ People legally leaving the game early by suiciding on hook is way more damaging than any tiny benefit brought by the handful of luck perks and offerings. It’s not like those things can’t be reworked.
Also, if someone has to spend several minutes AFKing or running to the killer, that is time that they are not killing themselves in another game. Why make it as easy as possible to grief 4 other people? People shouldn’t be able to quickly eliminate themselves when that is the opposite of their objective.

Are you okay? Where did I say a word about up the ante or ANY of what you said. I said that removing unhook alone isn't going to solve the problem. Maybe instead of being a clown actually read next time, yeah? :)

  • IDK who thought that the cages staying was a good idea, but that needs a rework. Killers can just camp, especially Wraith. When cloaked the game doesn't even recognise its presence.

One of the many example of the killers just camping and getting more downs:

    afbeelding.png

    Another down, just wonderful.

    afbeelding.png

Aside from killers having chronic aura-reading they can simply just camp as well. Amazing reiteration.

  • That will do nothing. Someone who wants out of the game that bad will just either AFK or run to the killer, and get hooked again. Removing it will solve nothing in that regard and it will rendder several perks and offerings that are related to it useless.

  • @Marioneo said:

Ok what the heck is wrong with most survivors in this mode? 9/10 matches these survivors have never looped or gotten into a chase or done a gen into their lives.

No wonder Survivors are saying this mode is balanced cause of the Awful Teammates are dragging them so far down

Yep, the amount of times I've died on 1st hook or looped the killer for 4 gens and left to die on hook while everyone is standing and TB-ing at the gate has been infuriating. And that for a game mode that is supposed to be fun. Play this with friends or don't play at all.

To OP, I think Nurse by herself is fine in her current state, especially after the last change the devs made to her. Though how her powers can synergize with some of the perks can make her too OP at times. Disregarding perks, great Nurse mains are still going to be great with her, and for others she might be a bit more difficult to get used to.
