Mettle can be used infinitely.
@Kagrenac no it's only a one time use

Run the filthy blade and nasty blade add ons together I promise you won't get bullied but probably reported because they will think you're hacking when it takes 10 minutes just to mend

You know what that's called? Hypocrisy and Survivor mains are experts at it.
How many hours a week would you say you play this game @DocOctober ?

@[Deleted User] said:
To poke a hole in this logic, why would you be leveling up a killer when you are going to be playing survivor for the next round or so? If it's mainly because your at the max then spend the bloodpoints beforehand.
@Turretcube but if I want to spend my points on my killer in the lobby i should be able to , say I'm grinding to unlock a certain perk or were just in a lobby waiting on someone, I'm just saying we should have the option to switch up while in lobby just to spend points if we choose
-
Now you've figured it out, this is how my group plays against her, we would much rather get chased with the little incense burner than that hail Mary vomit that comes outta nowhere
-
I wish.. anyone crying either side is OP deserves one of those options , I feel like it's created more toxicity in the environment because the people who would normally just hit the button and move along now either can ignore it or they have to voice their opinion to show disagreement and actually start debating with someone over their idea of "balance"

After getting hit 3 times by a Killer's basic attack, Mettle Of Man activates.
Mettle Of Man will deactivate the next time you are put into the Dying State.
This is description.
I would say you can use it multiple times.
@ShyN3ko I've ran this perk and it doesn't activate more than once anyone else will tell you the same if they've played it like I said unless it's bugged on PS4

No its different. It starts with an 'M' and ends with Bandit. Not sure if you can post tags on here?
@rex_huin you're allowed to post your own tag you just aren't allowed to post someone else's and accuse them of playing in any sort of way
-
Not by a long way. Look out for camping Leatherface tonight on PS4. If you see me say hello.
@Rex_Huin is your gamer tag the same as here? Just wondering so I can keep an eye out
-
I disagree, more progress bars to stare is not a good solution survivors will straight up leave the game if they make the gens anymore boring
-
I personally feel like the only thing that needs reworked is to make MoM not work with Freddy, I mean the dude is already so weak and now if there are 4 MoM in a match he might as well go cry in the corner until everyone leaves
-
@DocOctober said:
So you consider 10 out of 15 Killers not able to avoid MoM unless they run 4 specific Perks and hope that they'll proc as completely fine?
The Survivor bias reeks 10 miles upwind.
@DocOctober I feel like the perk is fine where it's a one time deal and it's done, I personally haven't had a problem with it playing killer but I understand the frustration people have with it honestly I think a new killer perk in the same sense as MoM would calm alot of these people down
"When you use your power to attack a survivor 3 times, the next basic attack you use will be an insta down" also we could make it work with Freddy even though he's a m1 just to give him an extra edge he needs. My theory on why this is a good idea is because it will teach the killer to become more skilled at attacking with their power than to rely solely on m1 attacks and the perk itself encourages a play style that could directly counter MoM if used properly and I'm talking wraith uncloaked attacks affecting this, hag post Phantasm, spirit post phase , trappers trap etc.... And then the insta down will negate MoM if they are healed up, just a thought though of course
-
Basically we came to a point where any non-loopable killer is considered not fun to play against and dc'ing against them is completly fine.
Yea but let's completely ignore all the deranking killers who DC and bot or just flat out lobby dodge any item whatsoever , the bias on this forum is real I'm a 50/50 killer and survivor player and you're absolutely right what a ######### ######### show the game AND this forum have become
-
Who even gives a #########? There's always something to cry about and it's always the same people doing it, it wouldn't matter if the game is perfectly balanced id lay a damn Benjamin on it that they still come here and weep anyway
-
Welp if that's a bug then this perk just became 10 times better and is gonna draw massive hate
-
@RSB that build is gonna be a joke if you manage to get to red ranks as a survivor, which if you're not playing killer anymore and you play often you'll probably make it, but I'd be willing to bet once you get away from the boosted killers you'll rethink that build and BTW welcome to survivor and thank you for shortening my que timeas a killer, every little bit helps...
-
I'm not too sure to be exact but I'm pretty sure I read something about leaderboards between friends? I know it's more than that included but seems like I glanced over it in the patch notes saying that
-
Flip flop is better at high ranks for the simple fact that more flashlights and instaheals get brought in by people who can actually use them properly and the killer is aware of that if he/she is not boosted and they will look around to make sure nobody is there and hit them away if they are while if you have a flip flop unbreakable combo you are gonna do big damage and can potentially have the obsession DS multiple times in one game I've already saw it happen, MoM isn't useful at high ranks I just ran it for two and a half hours straight and it only activated twice out of all that.
-
The 3-4 gen strat coupled with pop goes the weasel on nurse , billy , or spirit can change the whole outcome of a game when things are going bad
If you're going to use this strategy and throw out hex ruin you almost always want a killer that is good at snowballing in this situation otherwise it's a downhill battle , the doctor is considered good at this because of his ability to make you flee the gen to snap out of it but if you try this with lower tier killers it's not gonna be effective against a good survivor team.
-
OP when he made this thread
-
@Hoodedfengm1n I'm gonna give it 2-3 days and I'll bet we start seeing the "nerf flip flop" threads it's way more effective than MoM and especially with SWF

Nurses hit counts as a basic attack aswell. (if they dont, then this is a bug)
I also saw that mom activated on corupted puke, but thats a bug probably.
@Master nope , her blink attacks do not reward a stack along with post phase spirit or Billy's chainsaw it's literally only M1 attacks so unless you allow survivors to loop you as nurse and don't blink it's a easy counter , that's why it's going to be a lower rank perk because high tier killers that can effectively use their power will pretty much ignore MoM
-

How dare you bring arguments? A Survivor Perk was buffed, no arguments allowed!!!11
But other than that, you are correct regarding the High Tier Killers, but in Red Rank you see a lot of Spirits and Nurses anyway, especially after the change of the Pipping System. It is hard to stay in Red Ranks, so the best Killers need to be played.
@Aven_Fallen I agree they are common at red ranks but how do you think people are gonna react when out of five games you get 2 Omega blink nurses, 2 prayer bead spirits and a instasaw billy? I fear alot of people will derank to keep from having the same broken record over and over again and they will want variety in killers to stay entertained
-
@Master said:
@OrionsFury4789 How do you counter mom, now im curious.
And Ive also said that flip flop is insane, what are you supposed to do against a flashlight swf
@Master The nurse will totally negate this because if you use your power to attack it doesn't count as a stack and unless you're at yellow ranks the nurse is more than likely not going to try and chase you without blinking , my only concern about MoM is that it's gonna alienate the high tier killers and that's all you will see at red ranks anymore are killers like nurse billy and spirit because it will make ranking up easier for those killers and harder for killers like Freddy or trapper, so my only beef with it is you've indirectly nerfed already weak killers and buffed already strong ones.
-
MoM is such a trash perk I can't believe people are upset about it TBH, it's so easy to counter and will be useless after green ranks , Flip Flop is your new meta perk not MoM , out of all the testing I've done flip flop is going to be a pain with SWF literally just distract the killer as soon as he downs someone long enough for them to gain some recovery and then throw a bodyblock when he picks them up it's literally like having the old non obsession DS with the amount of wiggle you get

Don't care about pips is the best fix
Really? So survivors deserve to depip because some cry baby got up in their feelings and DC? Absolutely not this is something the devs need to look into it's obviously a bug because before the patch it would show you lost a pip but you gained it back when you loaded back to the main screen also they need to look at people losing their items after a killer DC .
-
Hey go for it, I always get the totems that's a wasted perk slot
-
A joke? If they came out and said all the bugs were fixed and nobody would cry on here anymore
-
It is very nice on the clown , I like to run STBFL, Brutal strength, bamboozle, and Ruin on him
-

Idk. I may be wrong, but I don' believe either Bill nor Leatherface came with acheivements and they were both individual DLC, so I wouldn't get your hopes up. Of course, BHVR very well may. We will just have to see tomorrow when he drops.
Yes they do or at least LF has achievements on console
-
Anyone crying the perk is OP has done exactly 0 tests with it and don't understand what they're even bitching about , I've done extensive tests with this perk and I for one can tell you it'll be something you see up until purple ranks and then it will go away, the only downside in my opinion is it almost forces you to use a top tier killer and when you get to red ranks that's all you're gonna see is those same top tier killers (nurse,billy,spirit) majority of the time because if they play the killer the way it's intended it will negate MoM and make it worthless which in turn will make ranking up easier with those killers and harder for ones like trapper, freddy who basically have to m1. So the only real problem to me is they've indirectly nerfed already weak killers and indirectly buffed the already powerful ones making high ranks be a broken record with the same few killers being in every match
-
Id probably do a near by gen and farm them with BT when they're about to struggle depending on the killer, if it's a LF or a killer that power can negate BT it's pointless and gens are the best bet but it's really rare to have someone do that unless youve cost them a good amount of time or just tried to make them upset on purpose
-
@thesuicidefox said:
@OrionsFury4789 You tested MOM with Nurse? What about Spirit? I would imagine that when they use their power it would count as a basic attack because they use their power THEN attack with their basic attack. Like you even have to press the attack button to do it.
@thesuicidefox yes I did , it won't work unless they're flat out abandoning their power and trying to bloodlust in a chase, dont know if it's intended that way but I think it should stay because that's a good balance and it's a one time use on top of being hit 3 times before it becomes available, so you have to interact to use your perk slot
-

you're on some bad ######### if you don't think a good nurse will walk to cut off a loop.
Im not saying she wont blink the whole game, you're dumb if you think i said that.
I said a good nurse will get hits without blinking.
@SmokePotion a nurse cuts survivors off 90% of the time with a blink is my point, sure it's possible to happen but playing in red ranks those nurses will more than likely know their ######### and use that blink to cut you off as a surprise so it's not impossible to get a stack but it's just not going to be likely unless you're playing in lower ranks
-
@MhhBurgers said:

How is getting hit by basic attacks 3 times in a match situational ROFL.
@MhhBurgers because certain killers can negate the perk by using their power to attack so a nurse isnt going to chase without blinking or she's really bad at the game so a nurse will make that perk useless along with other killers who can effectively use their power to attack
-
@Mc_Harty said:
@OrionsFury4789 Are you saying that if a killer uses their power and immediately attacks it won't count for MOM? It has to be a basic attack without any power influence?
@Mc_Harty yes that's correct unless it's bugged in KYF thats how it works only basic non power attacks, so phasing with the spirit and hitting won't give a stack
-
@SmokePotion your hag also negates the stack if you teleport and hit instead of chasing to attack
-
@ClogWench said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/391842#Comment_391842
Does this work for other killers who's power gives them a hit? Like hitting out of phase walk as Spirit or after teleporting as Hag?
@ClogWenchYes any killer power negates a stack it has to be a basic m1 attack
-
@SmokePotion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/391842#Comment_391842
ummm a few things....
firstly, all these attacks you mentioned, are counted as basic attacks by the game, and award both brutality (basic attack points) and Cunning (killer power points) so things that trigger off basic attacks, trigger off them. Ie: Dark Devotion procs from everyhting you just said. so i call bs.
Secondly: You have to exit phase walk to attack with the spirit
Thirdly: As a hag main I have hit plenty of people without teleporting, especially in the first 2 minutes of a match.
Fourthly: Good nurses hit you without blinking all the time. Bad nurses rely only on blinks, good nurses cut off escapes.
So everything you said was all stuff you felt was right, but wasn't.
@SmokePotionYou're on some serious ######### if you think a bad nurse blinks to catch you....ok let her chase you without blinking when she's slower than you that's a great idea....you obviously haven't even tested the perk so maybe you should hold off opinions until you actually play with it as I have
-
@Delfador said:
@OrionsFury4789 How does Nurse negates this perk? Am I missing something? Is there a time period that if a killer uses her power, the next basic attack doesn't give you a token?
@Delfador If you're attacked with the killers power you dont gain a stack it has to be a basic attack, so why is the nurse gonna chase survivors without blinking?
Edit: ive already tested this so it's not just a theory
-
MoM isn't even that strong I've tested it out more than a few times and you have to gain three stacks of getting hit without the killer using their power before the perk activates , so a nurse is basically gonna completely negate this perk unless she's dumb enough to chase without blinking, and also once you gain the three stacks who's saying you'll even end up using it? You basically have to go down once to gain the perk and then it becomes active the next time you would be put in dying state and it's a one time use
-
@Sinner said:
For me they don't raise that reaction of "Oh wow, I have to get that perk", you know?
With almost every killer, they get a perk like that. I haven't seen one of these survivor perks since David.
@Sinner Poised is an amazingly underrated perk I don't think alot of people realize you don't have to be the one popping the generator for it to activate, I would recommend trying it out I have it coupled with balanced landing and while in a chase when a gen pops I'm gone they don't know what happened and stay in the same area usually checking every little corner thinking I'm still right there
-
@Sinner said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/391145#Comment_391145
Exactly, also Billy, Leatherface, Plague, Legion, Huntress, Pig. Hag too?
Even if they buff it to work against their power, it's still not worth running, since it's one time use and the aura thing is an insane drawback.
@NoShinyPony thanks I'll remember that next time
@Sinner I'm not sure about the others but I know for sure with the nurse because a few of us went into KYF and tested all the perks, buckle up is useless but Flip flop is gonna be A tier considering you really just need someone to distract the killer long enough to get somewhat recovered and then throw a body block, MoM I like it but I feel like depending on the killer it may or may not be of use , or let's say someone else gets chased all match...welp there's a wasted perk slot for you when you couldve brought something more useful
-
@NoShinyPony said:
MoM and Flip Flop sound great for survivors. What more can you wish for?
I've tested MoM and it doesn't work when the killer uses their power, let's say you're against a nurse.... Well unless she chooses to not blink and hit you three times to get your stacks you won't get them, once activated it will prevent you from the dying state for that one hit but it's really only gonna be effective against m1 killers who don't use their power to hit you, the perk totally relies on the killer not using their power which with a nurse that's most likely not gonna happen, also spirit will have this effect if she can hit the survivors coming out of phase instead of while running. But once you've activated the perk it doesn't matter if they use power or not it's just to gain the stacks to use it
-

There's literally no braindead map that gives the killer free chases/wins similar to haddonfield/coldwind.
It's the equivalent of the killer with the game map or lerys, it's nowhere near braindead on coldwind because pallets can be wasted so quick and leave you in a open field, the people complaining about coldwind are corn blind and don't know how to track properly in the corn just stare straight down at scratch marks and not look ahead, Haddonfield is only braindead if everyone has balanced landing otherwise it's a even match with the killer having just as much of an advantage, the maps you named CAN be OP with the right build but so can the game or lerys for a killer if you have the right killer/build

Well, it's not bannable if you're also waiting out BT or either waiting for a survivor to die on hook.
Of course not but blocking the stairs just for the sake of trolling and not attacking anyone is absolutely holding the game hostage and very bannable , this is a case where the RBT makes you able to die and not technically doing anything wrong , scummy? Yes but totally allowed

Average survivors don’t cleanse totems unless someone else is nearby and they feel like they could grab those points before the other person. Every single trial I see people run past totems and ignore them.
And those are the people crying "wahhh!! Nerf NOED!!! That son of a [Bad Word] took my GG EZ away! I'm going straight to the forums to tell not queen I quit DBD until they nerf it!" ... I swear I just want to have a m1 as a survivor to smack those people who just run by it like it's nothing.

@PiiFree said:
So, what would you say if everyone played like you do? Easy win, right? Even as solos! You're a good solo survivor so you kinda prove that solos can be just as good as SWFs.
I look at SWFs / voice communication like a training wheel, like playing a game with "Hints" activated. Players don't really choose to get this advantage, in the end all they wanna do is "play with friends while talking to them" but the reality is that they naturally use their voice communication to get advantages ingame to keep everyone updated ect.
Maybe it happens unconciously but this regularity leads to them missing out of important stuff. They're so used to be told what's going on, they stop paying attention. I see players gen tapping through a gen even though a hex totem just got blown up. I see people hesitating to unhook even though someone else just got hurt miles away. I see players walking into trapper traps next to a hook because they still didn't realize "It's the trapper!".
It's all stuff like that that SWF players lack when playing Solo and it makes it look like solos are the problem but I'm sure most of those "unskilled solos" are actually SWF players forced to play solo because their friends are offline.
But you're right, it's just speculations. We don't know for sure, fact is both solos and SWFs play absolutely horrible sometimes. I think if a blocking feature would exist, I'd block more Survivors when playing Survivor myself than as Killer because of what you described.
I would actually be supportive of blocking survivors you don't want to play with when playing as a survivor because then you're not technically cherry picking games if you know that person sandbags or just isn't productive the whole match , I'm just sick of feeling like I have to play swf to have a team with a brain stem
